Before long Hailey went to her dorm room, she was looking forward to this year. Because last year she found out she had a Godfather and his name was Sirius Black. She knew he was friends with her father, as the two used to be in the same house. And she has also met Remus Lupin, a kind, and gentle soul but also wary of his Werewolf status.
She looked once again at her schedule this year would be different indeed.
Before long she was inside the library looking for some books, for her next class period.
When she felt a presence.
Looking over from the latter, she saw Draco Malfoy staring up at her.
She shivered and climbed down instantly, she knew who he was but did not like the Slytherin boy.
He acted just like his father.
They all did not like Muggles and had no respect for them.
And often targeted them, and Draco was on his way to being just like his father.
" What do you want, Malfoy? I'm busy right now".
Draco simply stared at her like she was food, his eyes were piercing and didn't seem to move.
She slowly backed up, hoping someone would come to her rescue.
And on Que.
Tom came walking in.
" Sorry, I was late. I -" he paused when he saw his best friend being cornered by Draco Malfoy.
" Malfoy, get the f*ck back from her now!" he roared.
Immediately Draco moved away from the smaller frightened female, others looked around trying to see what was going on.
" I didn't mean-" but he was cut off by Tom.
" Leave, can't you see? You are making her scared?!" The Gryffindor snarled.
The Slytherin boy huffed but obeyed, he sent a glare to Tom and looked away.
Once gone Tom looked down at the smaller female and instantly tilts her head up to make her look up at him.
" Are you okay? He didn't hurt you?".
" No" Hailey admitted.
But anyone could see that the situation had her scared.
The damage was done.
He picks her up and carries her away from the Public eye.
Malfoy would pay for this.
Sometime later after Herbology Hailey was making her way to DADA, which means defense against dark arts.
She wondered what teacher would be here this year because there was a new Professor each year.
As she was seated next to her friend Tom Riddle, another girl was assigned next to her.
Hermione Granger.
She never knew the girl, but based on how she talked.
Hermione was a muggle-born witch.
Soon Hailey learned who the DADA Professor was.
A man named Alastor ' Mad Eye ' Moody. An old friend of Albus Dumbledore.
She soon learned that the man was crazy and she understood why they called him 'Mad-Eye '.
His focus soon was focused on here.
" Only one has survived the killing cursed and she is standing right there".
All the students looked at her and she shifted in her seat.
She did not want to be the focus of everything.
Not to mention everyone was weirdly looking at her.
Tom placed his hand on her lap and squeezed it softly.
' You got this ' he whispered in her mind.
Soon enough she was participating in the sickest mind of his games.
He pointed his wand at a spider and was trying to make it do what he wanted to.
" Imperio!".
The spider started to dance, and the students laughed.
Only Hailey, Tom, and Hermione didn't laugh. Because they knew how it felt to be under the Spell.
" Stop! You are hurting it" The Bushy-haired girl said.
Immediately Professor Moody stopped, took the spider in his hand, enlarged it, and sent it to a student named Ron Weasley face.
The teen boy whimpered.
Others looked scared, while some laughed. Hailey did something no one expect her to do.
She grabbed it and took her finger and held it up and the spider stopped, she motioned for the Spider to come to her and it did.
Once the Spider was in her hand, she shrinks it back down to it's normal size.
Others looked at her with shocked facial expressions.
" Hailey, what are you doing?" Tom Asked. Hailey looked at her friend.
" About to set it free" Was her reply. She walked over to the window and let it out, all while others didn't stop staring at her.
" What? Why is everyone staring at me?".
Tom grabbed her hand and took her back to their seats.
All while Professor Moody glared at her.
" Detention Miss Potter! 8 Pm Sharp!".
She groaned.
This day was not going so well.
Later that day at dinner time, Hailey was in the worst mood. First Malfoy comes on to her, then she learns she has Veela blood ( Thanks to her 3rd or 4th Cousin Sirius Black ) and that's why everyone was all over her, and third, she had detention with Professor Moody.
Could this day get any worse?
She blinks when someone sits next to her, and a hand is placed on her shoulders.
" Not right now" she groaned.
" Oh, Come on. I bring your favorite".
Hailey looked up from her arms and saw her friend Tom with ice cream in his hand.
She instantly grabbed it and started eating. " Where do you get it?" she asked.
Tom immediately answered knowing what she meant.
" Kitchen, the Elves made it".
" Hmm".
Hailey grabbed her bag and took out some books.
"Well, It looks like I'll be here for a while".
" Me too" Tom answered.
" Tom you don't have to always follow me, and be underneath me. You can have friends and enjoy life".
Tom shakes his head. " No, and I want to. I am not leaving you alone with that Malfoy boy, he lurks around the corner waiting for you to be alone".
The dark-haired girl shrugged her shoulders. " It's your life".
And she begins to study.
Not knowing the preying eyes over the other side of the Slytherin table.
