Disclaimer: Don't own and never will

AN: Written for TheraseVoid on the Miraculous Fanworks Discord. Set around late season 2.

If you asked Adrien, it was Nino's fault. Nino would disagree, but it was his broken headphones that had led to this situation.

If you asked Nino, it was Adrien's fault. It wasn't like he hadn't warned him about the dud headphones.

If you asked Alya, all you got was peels of laughter. She thought the whole situation was hilarious, laughing so hard that tears were actually falling from her eyes.

And if you asked Marinette, all you would hear is a panicked high pitched squeal as her face turned red. It was adorable really. Well everything Marinette did was adorable. It was kind of a default position with everything that she did really. (No, I don't have any feelings for her Nino. She's just a friend. A very good friend Nino. No I'm definitely not in denial.)

Regardless as to who was responsible, the results were the same. Adrien's music playlist began to play out loud over the school's tannoy system.

"I must admit that I feel like a monster!" screamed out from the speakers and several people looked at him with an odd expressions on their faces.

He grabbed his phone and pressed the pause button.

"Who's trashy music list was that?" Chloé demanded as she rushed towards Adrien and threw her arms around him. "It's okay Adri-kins, I'm here to help." She looked at the rest of the class. "Which one of you peasants exposed my Adrien to your trashy music?"

"Thanks Chlo, but it was my playlist," Adrien said with a smile.

"Yeah, Skillet are awesome," Juleka added. Chloé's face abruptly changed and the sound of mental gears crunching was almost audible. A grin may or may not have been threatening to break across Marinette's face as she watched Chloé flounder for a few seconds.

"I mean, that awesome band Skulltet," she quickly said as she plastered a fake grin on her face. Adrien raised an eyebrow, but said nothing. In the background, Marinette sniggered quietly and Chloé pretended not to hear her.

"It's Skillet Chloé," he said quietly and Chloé's face turn slightly red.

"I knew that!" she said in an unconvincing voice. Several people looked at her entirely unconvinced. "I just...wanted to see who really knew!"

"I thought you said that XY was the best artist out there!" Sabrina said and Chloé gave her a death glare. Sabrina recoiled slightly. "I mean...I'm sorry Chloé, I didn't know-"

"I said that Skillet were awesome only the other day. Obviously you weren't paying attention."

"Yes Chloé. Sorry Chloé," Sabrina said quickly as she looked away.

"You know Agreste, I never would have thought you'd be a Skillet fan," Alix said and Adrien raised his eyebrow even more.

"I did go that Jagged Stone concert," Adrien pointed out. Nino snorted.

"Dude, that doesn't count," Nino said. "Everyone loves Jagged Stone. Even people who don't like Jagged Stone like Jagged Stone."

"You know that makes no sense," Adrien said and Nino grinned.

"Just roll with it," Alya said, having finally stopped laughing. (But she was still wearing a shit-eating grin on her face. She was DEFINITELY having too much fun with this.) "It's easier than arguing."

"Besides, you know that I'm right," Nino added and Adrien grinned.

"I always thought you were a classical music guy, with all the piano lessons and stuff, but it turns out you're a rock star!" Kim said.

"What else you have on your playlist?" Mylène asked curiously.

"Well...there's UH OH by Neoni and I Can't Decide by the Scissor Sisters. They're pretty good," Adrien said and Ivan nodded approvingly and gave Adrien a thumbs up. "And Hayloft II by Mother Mother, Control by Halsey, Killer in the Mirror and Wolf in Sheep's Clothing by Set It Off.

The playlist began unexpectedly playing once more. Kim grinned at them with his eyes dancing with amusement and Adrien's phone in his hands.

"It was a bet," he said, as if that explained it. Then again, it was Kim. It probably did. Adrien just smiled as he took his phone back and stopped the music once more. In the corner of his eye, he could see Alix rolling her eyes at Kim.

The akuma had been surprisingly easy to defeat.

A nuisance certainly, but not as bad as it had first appeared. Certainly nothing that really justified calling in Rena Rouge and Carapace certainly. (Although it had managed to convince them otherwise when they arrived.)

In fact, none of them had even used any of their powers at all. Only Ladybug had in fact and she was now busy recharging. (Although there was definitely something delaying her.)

As the three heroes waited, sitting on the Eiffel Tower and watching the setting Sun with their legs dangling over the edge, they talked.

"So...are you guys looking forward to the Set It Off concert next week?" Chat asked casually. The other heroes looked at him in surprise.

"You like Set It Off?" Carapace asked after what felt like an eternity of silence and Chat nodded.

"This cat thinks that they're meow-volous," he said and the other heroes rolled their eyes.

"I always thought you were a classical music guy," Carapace said and Chat raised an eyebrow. "I don't know...I always think of pianos when I think of you and music."

"Pianos?" Chat asked nervously as he started fiddling. That was a little too close to his secret identity for his liking. "Why pianos?"

"I don't know dude," Carapace said with a slight shrug. "It's something I think of with you."

"Yeah, you definitely make people think of pianos," Rena Rouge added with a slight nod. "Not guitars and stuff."

"I fanboyed over Jagged Stone," Chat pointed out with a slight hint of annoyance. "You were there when it happened." Carapace shrugged.

"Dude, everyone loves Jagged Stone. Even people who don't like Jagged Stone like Jagged Stone." he said and Chat frowned. That sounded familiar somehow. It was just on the edge of his tongue, teasingly close. No, he HAD heard it somewhere before! It was...

"That still doesn't make sense," Rena said with a roll of her eyes. Carapace grinned.

"I stand by what I said," Carapace said and Rena rolled her eyes once more.

"I'm stuck at home," Rena said with a shrug. "Besides, I'm more of a fan of Esperanda Spalding than Set It Off."

"See, even a jazz girl like Rena Rouge likes Jagged," Carapace said and Chat grinned. Carapace was being just like Nino. He should introduce them to one another sometime. He had a feeling that the two of them had a lot in common.

Something about that made niggled at the back of his mind. Something was on the edge of his tongue at any rate. He dismissed it as unimportant. It wasn't like he knew who Carapace was under the mask and that was how he wanted to keep it.

"Maybe we should talk about something else?" Chat said, fiddling with his tail. "We don't want to give away our secret identities."

Carapace nodded and for some reason, Rena laughed.

"Probably a good idea," she said with a grin on her face and her eyes twinkling with amusement. She tapped Carapace on the head. "And just because I like jazz, doesn't mean that I only like jazz."

"Day is just full of surprises," Carapace said with a smile and the conversation moved onto less dangerous topics. (Well less dangerous in Chat's opinion. He had been so close to learning who Carapace was!)

Marinette let out a shriek of surprise as Chat Noir abruptly landed on her balcony. The watering can in her hand dropped with a clatter and Marinette swore.

"Chat Noir!" Marinette exclaimed in surprise.

"Furr-give me Princess, but I was wondering if you could help me," Chat said with a slight bow. Marinette looked at Chat in surprise.

"Surely a brave hero like you doesn't have any problems that I could solve," she said after a few moments of silence. Chat actually looked sheepishly away and...was that a slight blush Marinette could see? It was kind of cute really. (No Tikki, I don't have any feelings for Chat. He's just a friend, nothing more! No really! It was fortunate that Alya wasn't here. She would probably consider the whole situation hilarious. And say something about denial.)

"Well... I kind of need a new perspective on this and I thought...well you designed Jagged Stone's album cover..."

"What is it Kitty?" she asked as her face softened. Chat looked up at her curiously and Marinette panicked.

"Kitty, because you're a cat!" she blurted out quickly and Chat smiled.

"Ladybug calls me that as well," he said with a smile. "I suppose that's to be expected really."

"Exactly!" Marinette said quickly. "So...what do you need me for?"

Chat blinked, apparently jolted out of his line of thought.

"Right. Well...it's nothing really...I was talking to the other heroes earlier and they all thought that I was into classical music. And earlier, when I was a civilian, my friends were surprised that I was into rock and not classical music. And I was wondering... is it a vibe I give off, or is it just my friends or something?"

"I...always associate you with Jagged Stone," Marinette said after a few minutes of thought. "There's something about you that reminds me of him for some reason..." She paused and shook her head. There was something it reminded her of, something on the tip of her tongue...

"Exactly! At least someone gets it!" Chat said with a grin, before bowing and kissing her hand. "Thank you Princess, you have reassured this mildly troubled cat."

Marinette giggled and with a quick salute, Chat leapt off of the rooftop and into the night.

AN: Not a great ending in my opinion, but I'm almost out of time here so...
