Up in the air
The heroes felt something soft and fluffy through their bodies. Once they got their bearings, they saw that they were standing on clouds and the Palace of the Winds was in their reach.
Something, however, didn't seem right. Emily licked her finger and held it in the air, hoping to feel a sort of breeze, but she couldn't detect one. There was no sign of the Wind Tribe either.
"Wait a minute," Yugi was asking, "how can the clouds be strong enough to hold our weight?"
"Nothing is always what it seems," said Emily. "However, I think it's best that we fly while we're here."
Her friends agreed. Clouds are always changing and there's no telling when they'll dissipate or grow. So they all unfold their wings and keep themselves airborne by flapping them.
"You know, in situations like these, it makes me glad to have wings and be able to fly," said Joey.
His friends were glad too, but they still had to be careful. When you scale hundreds of feet into the sky, the air starts to become thin. Thankfully, Max and Emily were protected by the powers of the Stars, so the change in the altitude wouldn't bother them.
Link frowned as he watched his friends fly. In the beginning, he thought it was cool that Yugi and the others could fly. Now he was jealous and wished he could fly like they could.
Emily flew over to him and picked him up. "I'll carry you, Link. It's too dangerous to stay on the clouds."
"Thanks, Emily."
"No problem, but you might not want to look down."
But Link didn't listen to her. He looked and saw that it was a long way down. He gasped and clung to Emily, as though afraid she would drop him.
"I believe I told you not to look down," she scolded him.
Link smiled nervously. Suddenly, a monster emerged from the clouds and began attacking the heroes. It was a Gyorg, a fish-like monster that swims through clouds.
Joey drew his bow and took an arrow from his quiver and fired, striking the Gyorg in the head. Yugi then sliced it with his sword.
Another Gyorg appeared, but this one was larger. It was a female. Kaiba tossed his boomerang. The Gyorg watched as it circled around her, making her dizzy. Max finished her off by attacking her with her Thunderbolt spell, sending lightning to strike and kill the fish-like monster.
After the Gyorg was killed, wind began blowing around the Palace of Winds again. But the boys started feeling weak and were finding it hard to keep themselves in the air. At that moment, people began emerging from the clouds. They rescued the group before they could fall and began bringing them inside the Palace of Winds.
