Hours Later
In the morning
(What if I want more then whatever this is?) Lucas 's voice went around in her head all night and early into the morning.
When Peyton awoke she figured that they would talk more. Or really figure out what was next.
But instead she awoke to Lucas not there beside her. And she left the bedroom she went inside the bedroom the boys shared they were fast asleep.
Okay so maybe he went to work early or just needed some time.
They went back and forth a handful of times throughout these 5 years.
Things were done but eventually they always came home to each other.
Just to calm the worry and concern she had going on loop in her mind.
Peyton checked his closet which looked untouched
When she looked in his drawers she found the clothes the same way they always looked.
But besides that she found a ring box.
Peyton sighed deeply. I knew it. That this life together was leading towards our future.
Whatever doubts she had vanished. As she took a quick shower.
Got dressed and woke up the boys when it was time.

(It's not going to be weird right.? Us at Rachel and Mouth 'wedding?) Lucas asked.
Brooke looked over at him. (No there is nothing unresolved or harboring between us.) Brooke replied.
(I think you should meet Clay before. Make it less uncomfortable.) Brooke suggested.
(He's going to this wedding where he doesn't know anyone but you. That means he must care about you and you deserve that.)
(Someone who puts you first. I somehow seem to always mess up in that area amongst others.) Lucas replied.
(I loved you're newest novel. And I doubt that's true. You're way too critical of yourself.) Brooke replied.
(Outside of being a dad and a writer. I don't make decisions that take me out of my comfort zone. I grow roots and stay put. I've never been good at risking things taking chances.)
(Especially with love.) Lucas admitted.
(Peyton 's you're true love. Fate destiny. Isn't she?) Brooke asked.
(If Clay is what you've been waiting for. Why haven't the two of you gotten more serious?) Lucas asked.
(I never told Peyton about New York. What almost happened between us.)
(You wrote about it. Through these characters. This conclusion. The letters. The pregnancy scare in high school. Why was I you're muse?)
(Peyton is who you choose.) Brooke said.
(And Clay is who you are settling for.) Lucas replied.
(I know you are not in love with him.) Lucas added in.
(What was done can't be undone. You built a life and had a family with Peyton.)
(I let you go. You let me go. Let's stop this. Because we're friends and that's all my heart can take with you.) Brooke admitted.
