By the time Rajine reached her dwelling place, to her surprise her sister and Monspeet beat her. They weren't doing anything but talking and eating. As Rajine entered the door, her sister and Monspeet broke their conversation, looking at her. "Well, I didn't expect to see you guys here quite yet," Rajine said while waving and setting what she was carrying down. "Neither did I expect to see you here so late," replied Derieri. "Where were you?" she asked. "What gives you the right to ask me that? I don't ever ask you things like that?" replied Rajine, not wanting to say.
"Well, I'm sorry. I didn't know I wasn't supposed to show concern for my sister and ask if she was okay" said Derieri, her eyebrows raised, beginning to snack again.
Monspeet looked up from what he was reading for a quick glance, listening to their conversation. "My bad, I did not mean to come across as rude but, must you know, Derieri?"
Her younger sister laughed sarcastically, replying "Uh, yes?"
"Fine, I was with Estarossa-"
"Doing what?!" replied Derieri
"We were just hanging out, calm down," said Rajine.
"If you are comfortable answering this, are you two in a relationship?" inquired Monspeet.
"I guess we kind of are," replied Rajine.
"So, is that a yes or a no Rajine? This is a yes or no question," Derieri replied with some urgency.
"Yes! Okay? Is there an issue, Derieri?" Rajine said.
"Maybe. No offense but your too good for him," Derieri remarked while eating, causing Monspeet and Rajine to glare at her.
Derieri looked up, then said "What? It's the truth."
"Maybe, but you have to admit, that was out of pocket," Monspeet replied, looking back down at his book to read.
"Okay, I'm not even going to respond to that but Estarossa's honestly not too bad," Rajine said.
"I'm not judging, you do you, girl, that's all," Derieri said.
"Well, good night to you two, I will see you both in the morning," Monspeet said putting the book he was reading back where he got it from, and heading for the door.
"Bye!" Rajine said while waving. Derieri still eating just put one hand up, semi-waving yet still acknowledging him.
"We should get ready for bed," Rajine said to her sister.
"I'll go to bed when I do. Anyway, earlier the Demon King yelled at us," Derieri said in a sarcastic upbeat way.
"Oh I heard-"
"Did Estarossa rant to you as well?" Derieri interrupted.
"Kind of but I didn't mind at all. Forget that, what happened with you and Monspeet?"
"No not "forget that", if you both are conversing like that then there must be some type of chemistry between you. Tell me, are you interested in Estarossa long-term or..."
Rajine's cheeks turned somewhat red as she responded to her sister's question "I know it's only been a few days but I feel like I've known him forever. I've never met someone that I connected with like that. So as of right now, yes, I do" Rajine replied.
"Oh really?" replied Derieri teasingly
"Yes, really," Rajine said.
"Here's some advice, don't give him any before the wedding," Derieri replied, smirking.
Rajine's mouth widened as she threw a pillow at her sister, saying "Don't say that-" Derieri was laughing so hard she almost fell while running to her room.
Rajine followed her, "Oh my- you're crazy! Hey! Wait, you still didn't finish telling me what I wanted to know!"
Derieri yelled from the upper level of their house, "I tell you tomorrow!"
The next morning, at about 10 am, Rajine was getting ready to meet Estarossa in about an hour. Derieri earlier that morning did tell Rajine about what happened but she found it was somewhat similar to what Estarossa described. Except for the conversation afterward in which he spoke about how he did not understand the issue. Rajini knew bringing that up to her sister would be an issue so she kept it to herself, only stating after her sister finished describing her experience
"Interesting, Estarossa pretty much said the same thing although he wasn't present the entire time you were."
"Hm. But should those rumors about Meliodas be true and his ass try something, I'd be pissed with him my entire life," Derieri replied.
"I don't blame you," Rajine stated, "But remember you shouldn't waste your time or energy holding resentment towards someone like Meliodas should he make a wrong move," said Rajine as she turned towards a mirror to see her appearance. "But, I don't think he will. He seems too loyal to the Demon King."
"Yea, maybe," Derieri stood up, "I'm going to go find Monspeet and see what we may need to do for the day, byye."
"See you later, sis" Rajine replied.
After this, Rajine took her leave for the day as well, finding the same spot she and Estarossa were at the previous day. It was now about 11 am and sure enough, Estarossa met her there to take her for the day. Once he landed, he greeted his beloved with a tender kiss on the forehead before the two conversed for a few minutes. After that, Estarossa led Rajine by the hand to where he wanted her to keep him company the entire day. When they got there, it was a close call a few times as they almost ran into both Chandler and Cusak, who would have probably had the sternest reaction besides the Demon King to what Estarossa was doing. Nevertheless, they made it. As Estarossa closed the door, Rajine settled on a comfortable sofa commenting on how soft it was.
"You and your brothers must be accustomed to such luxurious living I'm sure," Rajine stated.
"Yea, we are. We're pretty spoiled but our father makes sure that doesn't get to our head," stated Estarossa heading over to where Rajine was, who was smiling in response to his last comment, to rest with her.
"So, what do you want to do, Estarossa?"
"If your okay with it, at about noontime if something does not come up before then, we could spend time in each part of the castle."
"How do you know we will not get caught?"
"Meliodas sure isn't here and Zeldris, well he may be, but chances are he won't care."
"And... what if he does," Rajine said with concern.
"Then he could go to hell," Estarossa replied.
"We're pretty much in hell," Rajine stated.
"Okay, then he could go somewhere else in hell," Estarossa replied.
Rajine giggled while saying "You must enjoy being silly," then she got up, to move towards something in Estarossa's chambers that caught her eye.
"W- Hey, I'm not trying to be!"
Rajine grabbed a considerably big book he saw placed on a table near a window area in his room. "THE ANCIENT FABRICATION", Rajine read the title. "Estarossa, baby, what's this about?"
"Well it's a somewhat ancient text about an entity called "Chaos"
"Chaos? Who's Chaos," asked Rajine, sitting down with the book opened.
Moving to lean on the wall by the window, Estarossa responded "According to that text and old wise men, Chaos is truly the entity that created everything."
"Even the..." Rajine said looking up.
"Apparently so," replied Estarossa.
"But how?"
"Rajine, it's just a book, it could be fiction-"
"No, Estarossa we have time, tell me more please."
"If you insist. Well, from what I read, Chaos made everything from nothing. It's a force of both good and evil. As the text says, that force contains "light so pure the Goddesses worshipped it and darkness so great the demons feared it"."
"Now you say that I recall being told something like that by my grandmother," Rajine stated.
"Interesting. To me, this concept seems familiar too but I just don't why?"
"Well, did it say what happened to Chaos?" Rajine asked.
Estarossa thought for a second, then "Oh! My bad, but, it was something about how the Supreme Deity and Demon King sealed it away due to jealousy."
"How could they? Isn't Chaos their creator?"
"I guess so but no one knows what happened," replied Estarossa.
Just as Estarossa finished his sentence, he heard his father's voice trailing down the hall.
Rajine whispered nervously "Is that the Demon King coming?!"
Estarossa replied, his face expression concern and confusion "I think so..." He began to move towards his door slowly to try to better hear who was approaching and what the voice was speaking of. Rajine somewhat followed but remained at a distance for the sake of fear.
The laugh of a woman was heard outside before she said "Oh my, well, what is the reason that you have requested my presence, Demon King?"
'Great, why is my father coming this way and why the hell would he be speaking with a woman?' thought Estarossa.
Rajine only grew more anxious and fearful as to what would happen if they were caught.
The Demon King spoke, as he passed by Estarossa's door "Well, Supreme Deity, I believe we have a quite serious matter to discuss..."
'Supreme Deity!' thought Estarossa, appearing to be shocked, yet remaining silent.
The rest of the Demon King's sentence became harder to make out as he moved away from Estarossa's chambers, calming the nerves of both Estarossa and Rajine.
Waiting until it was silent, Estarossa stated "My father is speaking with the Supreme Deity out there!"
"Supreme Deity?" Rajine replied, just as lost as he was. "Wha- isn't she the ruler of the Goddess Race?" asked Rajine, still confused.
"...Yes!"
"Oh, that's funny. We were just talking about them," Rajine stated, taking a seat again, sounding nonchalant.
Estarossa just stood there, looking at her, then at the door, then back at her. Seated with the book in her hands, Rajine said "What?"
"What do you mean what? This is far from a normal event or action for the Demon King to take. He has to be planning something," replied Estarossa, moving towards her.
"Like what?"
"Well, chances are, it's not very good. I mean, he's working with the Supreme Deity out of all people."
"You do have a point in that. From what I've heard, she is quite a ruthless leader," Rajine stated.
"Really? Worse than my father?"
"Well let me put it this way. She likes her clansmen to do the dirty work for her and what she orders them to do oftentimes is... not very pretty."
"So, she's just evil and covert about it then?"
"Yes. I think so. I could be wrong though because that's just according to Derieri and Melascula," Rajine said, expressing doubt.
"Melascula?" Estarossa said before laughing. "Well, I don't know either because she could either be instigating or telling the truth," he said as he moved to a drawer to look for something.
Rajine grinned, knowing he was probably telling the truth. Upon realizing something, she then said "Hey, now I think about it. Doesn't the Demon King pretty much do the same thing?"
Estarossa looked over to her, "Essentially but he's pretty open about how dark he is. I doubt the Supreme Deity would be."
Rajine got up and walked over to where Estarossa was, bent over, looking through something. "Are those album discs?"
"Mm, hm. Zeldris keeps bugging me about how I stole one of his even though I don't recall that. So, I want to see if I have it because he's getting on my nerves."
Rajine went to go look at his collection, but he jokingly stopped her as he said "Uh, uh, I don't need you judging me by what I listen to, Rajine."
She laughed replying, "I won't judge you, not unless I find some mess the Celestials (in this case, a music group) came up with."
"Really?" Estarossa replied, with fake concern, causing Rajine to give him a concerned stare. Estarossa laughed "I'm joking! Don't worry, you won't find any," he replied.
Rajine sighed and smiled as she resumed searching his collection.
Rajine asked if she could play something on the record player he had and they both listened to music while talking as Estarossa continued searching. Some time passed and eventually Estarossa had finished up the task he felt the need to complete. The two then moved to relax on a sofa-like cushion in front of a tall and wide window within Estarossa's chambers. As they communed very personally with one another for hours, their body language became much more relaxed and open, thus Rajne and Estarossa began cuddling as they continued their conversation although it was quite subtle.
Their conversation began to drift to a temporary halt as they took time to view the vivid sight of the approaching-eventide sky and the scenery below it. Fascinated at the sight that wasn't common for one of her statuses, Rajine fixed her gaze on the sight in front of her. Somewhat contrary, Estarossa, due to feeling self-conscious because of the realization such a stunning woman in his eyes was lying in his arms, found it hard for himself to fix his eyes on the sight his lover was taken by. Since he did not want to move, instead he found himself listening to the music that was still playing in the background. A new record began to play with a slow, funky, rhythmic, and sensual feel to it.
Rajine, recognizing the song, then looked over to the record player, behind Estarossa in his direction. "Do you like this song?" Estarossa inquired. "Yes, I love this song," Rajine replied with hinted excitement in her voice. "Really? Why exactly? Doesn't it sound like every other slow love song?" Estarossa replied with slight sarcasm. "Perhaps to you, but, I find it odd that those silly love songs I used to care almost nothing for make sense after you came into my life," Rajine replied, adjusting her seated position, as she shifted her gaze forward.
"Oh boy, at your best, you are love
You're a positive motivating force within my life
Should you ever feel the need to wonder why, let me know~" Estarossa listened as the lyrics played, beginning to realize what she was saying. Rajine then turned to look at Estarossa with a gentle smile. All Estarossa felt he could do was somewhat smile back, as he was in awe of her and her beauty.
As Estarossa and Rajine shared an intimate moment, the Demon King and Supreme Deity in the space over were chatting it up about an issue...
