Hello again, I have a new chapter for you hope you will like it! Also a few changes to make it easier to see the difference between thoughts and speech.

Chapter 1

A loud bang fills the air. Hiccup wkes up startled and groans "Another Raid." He gets up and puts on his fur vest before heading downstairs. His father was already gone. 'Typical' he thought. As he opens the front door of his house he has to close the door fast to avoid being hit by the fire from a Monstrous Nightmare. After he felt the heat subdide he reopens the door and runs out of the burning house. Hiccup makes his way to the forge since he probably should help Gobber out. As he runs through the viking hordes he gets yelled at to get inside and out of the way. Suddenly he gets pulled up by a large hand wich belongs to his father.

Stoick faces Hiccup and yells "What are you doing out again?! We don't need you running around and cause more damage! Get inside and stay there!" With that he drops him to the ground and shoves him forward with a force that makes Hiccup stumble. Hiccup runs fast into the forge and puts on his appron.

"Nice of you to join the party! Thought you'd been carried off." He greets Hiccup cheerly. Hiccup scoofs and replies a bit angry "Yeah when that happens the village will throw a party and celebrate."

Gobber just sighs while shaking his head because he knows how Hiccup feels and thinks to himself 'Hope he can hold on a bit longer before he snaps. Maybe he the village will see how valuable he is.'

Hiccup starts with sharpening the and heating the weapons. He notices the teens being called to fire duty and soffs angrilly 'They always think they are better than everyone else. One day I will show them they are wrong.'

Suddenly an ear-piercing shrill filled the air while one Viking shouted "Nightfury!" and another followed with "Get down!" just before one of the catapults explode with a purple fire ball.

Hiccup looks at the destruction in awe and determination. 'Maybe I can kill the Nightfury. That will get me the respect I deserve.' He looks behind him at one of his latest inventions just as Gobber told him to stay there while he races out to help with the fighting.

Hiccup grabs the Mangler and rushes past Vikings who tell him to stay there. He ignores them and runs outside the village and up a hill. There he starts seting up his weapon and waits for a dragon to come in sight. After an intense minute he hears the feard whistle of the Nightfury build up. Just a few secons later the catapult in fornt of him explodes and he sees the silhouette of the most feard dragon for a second. Hiccup takes aim and shots. His heart filled with joy and hope as he hears a WHACK and a screech. Faintly he can make out the outline of the falling dragon.

'I can't believe it! I actually shot it down!' he thought. "Yes! I hit it! Did anybody see that?" Hiccup shouts turning around. In that moment a Monstrous Nightmare stepped in front of him and on the Mangler. "Except for you." he says dryly.

Stoick was just capturing a few Nadders with a net as he hears a high-pitched screaming, only for him to see that it is his usless son getting chased by a Nightmare. 'Can't he just stay inside for once?' asking himself. Stoick turns to his men "DO NOT let them escape!" before running of to save his son.

Hiccup manages to hide behind one of the poles from a torch just as the Dragon spits a stream of flame at the pillar. Hiccup slowly tries to look around the torch while not noticing the Nightmare creeping around the other side of it.

Just as the dragon was about to snap its jaw at the boy, Stoick comes in and barrels right into the Nightmare. After it recoverd it looked at the human who challenged it and tries to flame it. Only that all that comes out of its mouth were a few dropplets of magma to wich the dragon looks a bit sheepish.

"You're all out." Stoick says as he wasted no time and starts to punch the Nightmare untill it flys off into the night. As he turns around the Torch gave out and collapses to the side while it crashed down the hill. On the bottom of the hill the Vikings have to let go of the net that was holding the Nadders to avoid getting hit by the torch.

The village assembles around Hiccup and Stoick while they can only watch the dagons make of with their livestock. Suddenly all eyes turn on Hiccup with hatefull glares.

"Okay but I hit a Nightfury." Hiccup says quickly to try and avoid being yelled at by hid father. Stoicks just grabs him by the back of the shirt and starts dragging him towards their house while he tells them where it went down.

Infront of their house Stoick had enough and stops "ENOUGH! Enough. Every time you step outside disaster follows! Can't you do something right for once in your life?! This can't keep going on Hiccup! Either you manage to follow orders or I will have to take harder consequences!"

Hiccup looks to the ground not looking at anyone but hearing the whispers from the tribe. Stoick and most villagers turn around leaving him alone infront of the house. That is until the teens came towards him. The first thing that happend was a punch to the stomach by Astrid while she scoffs at him "Are you trying to get us all killed?" Followed by a punch in the face by Snotlout ho says "Hiccup the Useless strikes again! You will never be a Viking. Not long until Stoick bainshes you and makes me the heir!" The twins and Fishlegs just laughed while he was laying on the ground as the walk away.

Hiccup decides to get in the forest and search for the Nightfury he shot down.
