A/n: This started as a one-line idea and ended as a one-lined idea. I'd say I lost control when writing, but it didn't go anywhere therefore I don't think that's valid. Either way, a small bit of domestic fluff I suppose for you to hopefully enjoy then so… enjoy!
Sounds of a fight echo around the cave, but no one stops it. Instead, they continue on with their lives as if two people aren't exchanging blows right in the open. They all know the difference between training and an actual fight, so they know this is most definitely not the latter.
The two sparring now are Connor and Robin, both breathing heavily from the hour they've been doing this already but neither willing to give up. Their audience had varied, each member of the team taking their turn watching the match before boring of it and moving on. Currently, it was just Wally sitting in the corner with a bucket of popcorn, munching on the snack while cheering for his friends, his loyalties changing every two minutes.
Suddenly, Connor moves in for a punch which Robin swiftly doges, flipping backward out of the way but not noticing that the Krytponian's attack wasn't actually the punch and instead was only to provoke the younger teen into a flip so he could do something else. He hides a smile as he easily swipes Robin's legs out from under him as he lands, the small boy hitting the ground hard as he falls onto his back.
"Robin, fail," the computer announces, and Connor finally lets the corner of his mouth quirk up.
"You okay there Robin? I thought you'd have seen that coming," he says to the boy who is still on the floor, chest rising and falling fast.
"Yeah… I'm okay. But I think… I'm just gonna… lie here for a bit," he manages to say in between pants, making Connor frown.
"I didn't hit you too hard earlier right?"
"No, you're good. I'm just… a little tired." It's hard to tell with the mask, but Connor thinks Robin has closed his eyes. He keeps frowning for a bit as his eyes take in the small boy on the floor again, before shrugging.
"Okay, as long as you're not injured. I was gonna suggest we stop soon anyway."
"It's because you were losing isn't it?" Even panting and laying on his back, Robin still manages to grin up at the clone.
"What? No - I… losing? I literally just knocked you down."
"Yeah, definitely a sore loser." Robin's eyes close again but the smile stays. Connor sighs.
"You know what, I'm gonna go get some water. Want me to get you a glass?"
"Yes please."
"Okay." He starts walking out, Robin calling out a 'thanks' after him.
"Dude… you good?" Wally finally gets up from his seat, popcorn still in hand as he speeds over to where Robin still has not moved on the floor.
"Do that again will you? The breeze felt nice."
Wally just looks down in concern at his best friend. "Okay… but only if you can convince me you're actually okay."
"Ughh, you're so mean. I'm fine, really KF. I'm just tired and it feels good down here. The floor is cold and I don't want to get up."
"Uh-huh…"
When Connor comes back with the glass of water for Robin, he finds that not only is the Boy Wonder still on the floor, but he is now joined by Kid Flash too who is stupidly continuing to toss the popcorn in the air and catch it with his mouth.
"You're gonna choke if you keep doing that," Connor says, standing over the two of them.
"So?" Wally says, through a mouthful of food.
"I won't save you if you do." His voice is serious as he places the glass of water beside Robin, who just lifts an unsteady hand in a thumbs-up - "Thanks, Supey." - before it flops back onto his face - "Ow." - and Connor leaves without another word, leaving the two weirdos to themselves.
"Recognised, Artemis, B-0-7."
"Um… what's up with those two?" She asks when she walks into the lounge, pointing behind her.
"Don't ask," is all Connor says, not even looking up from where he's sitting on the couch facing towards the static tv.
Artemis blinks, glancing at M'gann for a proper answer only to receive a shrug in return.
She sighs, looking between the two in this room and the hallway leading back to the main cave.
"This whole team is a bunch of weirdos," she says, sounding resigned as she grabs a pack of chips and sits next to Connor on the couch. "But then again, what else can I expect from a Kryptonian clone, a Martian, an Atlantean, a mini Batman, and a kid who can run almost as fast as his mouth."
M'gann stifled a laugh.
A/n: I don't exactly know how or why I wrote this. I just had an idea of Robin just staying down in training, 'just 'cause why not' and it kind of just went on from there. Sorry if it seems ooc, at least any part with Robin. Maybe I can just blame it on the fact that the team is a group of teens and sometimes teens do weird things. Or act out of character at random times. Yeah, that sounds right. So essentially, this is just a reminder of that, with a glimpse into every day life for the team. (Damn I'm good at salvaging situations and making ppl think i'm smarter than i am by putting a 'deeper meaning' into things. Sounds familiar actually… high school english class lol)
Anyway, stay safe and see ya soon.
