After a long battle, Tom and the Director finally met face to face. The Director was sure that now Tom was in his hands: caught, defeated, without resources, without friends, and the Director's people were already on their way.

Director: You see, Mr. Vale, when you are in control, there is no escape, no rescue, no help, nowhere to run. You've been running too long, Mr. Vale, it's time to sign an honorable surrender.

However, Tom calmly looked into his eyes:

Tom: You are wrong, I have help, I have friends, and i have a rescue.

Director: And who is this, I wonder?

Tom: Look over there.

The Director turned his head and saw the little girl that Tom had met in "The Dark Side of the Moon". She walked over to Tom and grabbed his hand.

Tom: This is my help, my rescue.

The director laughed.

Director: This girl? Who is she to me?

Tom: Noone. As is this man.

He pointed to teacher Janet Cowan from "Stay Tuned", who had come up behind him. Then Doctor/Patient Kovik from Calloway appeared:

Kovik: I guess, I'm a noone too, Tom.

Director: Three people? What does it all mean?

Tom: (with iron voice) Nothing. They're noone, right?

Two more people appeared, a boy with black glasses and a large man, whom the boy is holding by the hand. This is Derek Williams from "The Incredible Derek":

Derek: (whispers) I saw you in my nightmares.

Then a group of old people appeared, in wheelchairs and walkers, who joined Tom.

The director looked uncertain. More people showed up: the girl from "Saloy", the FBI secretary, Max, a little reluctant.

Behind the Director, from his computer, a voice was heard, slightly muffled by static: this is Alexander Hale, Tom's contact from "Contact" and "Hidden Agenda":

Alexander: I'm here, Tom, like you said, I made it.

Alice and Tom's father also appeared next to him:

Alice: We're here, Tom, just like you asked.

Tom continued to look into the eyes of the Director, not even looking back at those who came to him. Emily Nonan from "The Enemy Within" showed up and walked over to Tom and grabbed his hand firmly. Then Gus Shepard showed up:

Gus: (grinning) Can I join your party, Rob Roy? And I brought some friends here whom I met a few years ago.

And he brought with him the entire population of Phoenix Village. The director looked stupified, looking at the people with eyes that did not understand.

Tom: You still don't get it, do you? All these people are noone. Nothing for you. And that's why they can defeat you. Because you don't pay any attention to them. You control governments, agencies, hospitals, militias, armies, think tanks... But there is one thing you cannot control: people. Individuals. Spirits. Determination. Aspiration. Tenderness. Kindness. Faith. You can't wrap your tentacles around these people, and I don't even think you know it. My strength is not these people, it's their faith in me. That's why you will never win. When it'll be today or tomorrow... you're going down.

After that, Tom turned, walked through a group of his friends, his family and leaves, while they looked into the Director's eyes, daring him to follow them. Then, one by one, they leave as well, leaving him alone. We then see Tom walking down the street in an unknown city (but it doesn't matter which one). Emily is next to him... and for the first time, the people he's affected follow him. And when the crowd already looks too big... There is a click of the camera, and everything fade out in the black.

The End.
