Hey guys, I wanted to get this out before the new year, but life gets in the way of things as it does. Just a reminder for some of the more impatient folks: writing on this app is a hobby and I have no set schedule. The story will be updated when it will be updated, so please don't enter my PMs asking when the next chapter will be.
Aside from that, here's the chapter and I hope you enjoy it.
The sports festival was right around the corner. Class 1-A (minus Bakugo) was gathered in one of the training centers so they could train their quirks to the max. While Yoruichi was lazing around.
This was the only time Aizawa let it slide because she was only hurting herself. If she didn't want to train, that was fine. If she lost in the festival because of it he wouldn't care.
He watched Eijiro and Sado train with each other, Eijiro letting Sado whale on him to increase the durability of his hardening quirk, while Sado can train to increase the duration of his sugar rush ability. Midoriya was with Uraraka as he helped his classmate figure out ways to better utilize her quirk – Midoriya himself wasn't doing much to improve his quirk, a mistake that would make him pay hell later. Iida was racing around the arena, hoping to improve his endurance and stop his exhausts from potentially overheating. It seemed all of them (minus 2 (technically 1)) were making use of their time.
Aizawa watched the class continue as he wished. The only noises came from the sound of concrete being smashed and students talking to each other about whatever the topic was. The kids would constantly try to give signature names to some of the more mundane uses of their quirks. Worst is Midoriya who hopelessly copied the move set and naming scheme of All Might. While not currently doing so in his current class, the combat session and entry exam were enough proof enough of his idolization. The kid would never find his self-identity if he kept using All Might as a base.
"Shihouin look out!" He heard one of the students yell out to her. Aizawa looked at the girl, his gaze meeting a flying Eijiro headed straight toward her at the halfway point.
The girl glanced at the boy and waited until he was merely inches away from her to use her quirk to get out of harm's way. She could have easily dodged the student with more than enough air time for Eijiro until landing. The whole class watched as the red-haired boy crashed into the ground with his quirk broken through by both training and the impact.
"Kirishima!" He heard Sato shout. "You okay! I'm so sorry!"
"It's fine, Sato-kun," Eijiro answered, coughing through the dust cloud the two had created. The dust settled to show a mildly bruised and battered Kirishima with a small stream of blood dripping from his forehead. "My quirk absorbed most of the impact. But, Shi-" he interrupted himself as he looked around for the girl, confused when he couldn't find her nearby. "Shihouin?"
"I'm over here!" She called out, in the far back of the arena behind most of the students. There was a small smile on her face, as she looked at Eijiro, almost suppressing a laugh. "I could see you from a mile away."
"Yeah," Kirishima agreed. "You okay?"
"Better than you."
At this point, the class had gone back to their sessions. Izuku and Uraraka had gone back to their sparring, Asui and Mina to themselves as well did everyone else. All except Sato who rushed over to Eijiro, meeting Yoruichi halfway as she walked up to him.
"Clearly," He laughed. The girl didn't even have a scratch on her. He couldn't help but find the reaction speed impressive, which along with her speed was almost inconceivable. There wasn't even a hero he could compare her to, not even Enginium. "Why haven't you been practicing with the rest of the class?" He eventually asked.
"'Dunno," She answered. "Not much I think I can work on, really."
"C'mon, there has to be something?" Eijiro said. "I'm working on making my hardening stronger," he informed, activating his quirk in his right arm.
"And I'm trying to make my Sugar Rush last longer," Sato added. "Everyone has something to improve."
That reminded her of one of the reasons why she came to U.A. and not run off to Karakura instead. Over time she thought about it and eventually realized that there wasn't much to improve. She was known to be a master in Shunpō and Hohō techniques in general. The only reason she stuck around was due to the recent villain attack on the school that wound the explosive hothead in the ICU for the last week and a half. If not for that she would have disappeared.
"You know what?" She said, capturing the attention of the two boys. "I don't think there's much I can improve on. But that shouldn't stop me from at least sparring. So you two come at me and see if you can take me down. I won't even use my quirk."
Both students were taken aback by her offer. A two-on-one sparring session with their class's strongest student, maybe second if Midoriya could beat her using his quirk. She was even offering to not even use her quirk.
"Doesn't that sound kind of dangerous?" Rikido asked. "If you aren't using your quirk then you could get injured. We aren't even using our gear today."
"He's right Shihouin," Kirishima agreed. "That doesn't sound safe for you."
"Are you two so scared that you're making up excuses to save your pride?" Shihouin said in an attempt to goad them.
"I'm not scared!" Eijiro heartily replied. "I just don't find it manly to attack a fellow student with my quirk when they aren't using theirs."
"If you so wish," Yoruichi replied in a sarcastic tone of voice, a smile slowly forming on her face. "Then why don't we do two rounds? The first one is no quirks, second round the loser gets to use their quirks. How about that?"
"I suppose I could agree to that," Kirishima answered hesitantly, still not sure if he wanted to do it.
"I... I guess?" Sato also answered, yet more questioningly than his red-haired sparring partner.
"All right then," Shihouin. "We start now!"
...
Izuku hadn't taken his ears off the three since their conversation started. While he was doing his best to improve, it was at his own pace and with All Might so he wouldn't pop himself like a bubble. There were a lot of things he thought the class could improve on, but none more than himself. He struggled to use One For All without destroying his body. Whenever his improvement came it was in small doses, which was disappointing but encouraged him to improve more the next time.
When he overheard Shihouin challenge Kirishima and Sato to a sparring match his mind wound back to his beach time training sessions with her. There was always a sparring match at some point in the day and he would always lose miserably. While he expected a similar outcome for Eijiro and Sato, they at least had the chance to turn in their favor given there were two of them.
He and Uraraka paused their training to let her stomach recover, as well as watch the outcome of the spar. It began with Sato and Eijiro trying to flank her, but Kirishima backed out at the last second. Sato was spun around and suplexed into the ground. After that was Kirishima who was blitzed and grappled into submission.
The bout hadn't even lasted fifteen seconds. Probably not even ten.
"Really?" She said disappointedly. "You backed out at the last second and forced Sato to fight me alone." She scolded the other kid who was still locked in a grapple. "That won't fly in the real world."
She finally let go of Kirishima and the two got up. Sato soon followed, rubbing his eyes to get out of whatever daze he was in. "Sorry, it's just... I didn't want to hurt you!"
"So you let Sato get hurt instead?" She countered with a raised eyebrow.
Kirishima attempted a counter, but his mouth closed when he found none.
"Again this time, using your quirks."
And so they went again. This time they both committed to the flank. Sato aimed at her sides while Kirishima initiated a grab. Shihouin dodged the punch charged by Sato, Sato almost grazing Kirishima.
"Behind me!" Eijiro shouted as he saw the girl stare them down. She quickly closed the gap and Eijiro activated his hardening just in time to block a swift punch from Shihouin. His arms vibrated up and down from the strike and Kirishima winced at the pain. "That's an unpowered punch!? I can't take another hit like that. One more and she'll blow through my quirk!"
Sato in the meantime listened to his teammate. He hid behind his teammate and popped open a packet of sugar tablets attached to his belt. Just as he began to reach for it he felt Eijiro, quirk still active, fly right into him. The two were then laying down on the floor with Kirishima on top of Sato.
The match had ended. Izuku could at the very least give them props for lasting longer than last time. It still wasn't anywhere close to half a minute, but they still lasted longer than last time.
Eijiro got up first, then after offering a hand up to Rikido. "Sorry for doubting you," he laughed. "I just didn't think you could have beaten us without your quirk." Suddenly a gleam appeared in his eye. "But holy shit, that was manly! You took on the both of us without using your quirk and won, and with absolute confidence!"
"I'm a girl," she playfully reminded him.
Eijiro stood up straight looking somewhat embarrassed. "R-right. But still-"
"You don't need to go on," she said, stopping him from continuing. "So what else are you working on?"
...
Aizawa still stood where he was from his part of the building. He watched the sparring match between the three classmates and wasn't surprised when Shihouin one. Eijiro was already quite exhausted from the previous session with Sato and his quirk didn't get enough time to fully rest. If they sparred at the very beginning Aizawa could have probably found many points where they could have beaten her if she wasn't using her quirk.
One thing was for sure, her fighting style unnerved him slightly. She moved like a predator and slipped through attacks like a trained military agent. It showed in her muscle memory how she would strike at Kirishima's arms where his heart would be if it were his chest instead. The final kick that ended the match was even targeted at his head but instead struck his guard.
The kids couldn't see it and possibly not the other teachers, but he did at least. In the time she had between being fully healed and joining the school, there was no way she would have the time to rank up in any dojo fast enough to learn techniques like that. If his memory served him correctly she wasn't even a member of any dojo in the local area. The only one that immediately came to mind was Gunhead's dojo, and he didn't even teach moves like that.
Maybe it was a good thing she was one of his students, Vlad would have never picked up that. He might notice her aggressive fighting style, but only leave it at being 'aggressive' and not lethal. At least she wasn't what All Might worried her to be, but if not that then who was she with? Is there a reason her name wasn't on any public records?
Whatever thoughts were about to come next were interrupted when he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. He picked it up to look at it. It was the principal letting him know that his time was up and that class 1-B would be coming soon.
"To the door everyone!" He announced to the class. "Time is up! Back to the locker rooms to get changed!"
The class stopped their activities and gathered near the entrance, ready to follow their teacher back to class. Aizawa took a glance at his class and his eyes stuck to Shihouin. There was something about his recent discovery that didn't sit right with him.
"What's your deal, Shihouin?" He thought as his eyes left the girl and onto the door. He left the building and held the door for his students, waiting for each of them to leave the compound. Immediately after he led them back to the locker rooms. The students followed him in a disorganized mess of a line, all chatting with each other.
Aizawa did his best to keep his head down for the moment. He'd probably mention it to Nezu later if not immediately after school ended. Even without her quirk, she was deadly. People don't just naturally know how to fight like that.
Bakugo had been discharged from the emergency room for almost a full week now. He was told to take it easy and not to participate in any physical activities for a while. It's why he stayed home today. All day the class was going to be doing physical activities. He opted to stay home and study, meanwhile sulking in his room. At least he would be able to participate in the sports festival.
While he would be behind in physical training and combat class, in standard academics he'd at least have the opportunity to speed ahead of them. He'd make the ponytail nerd look like a dunce come the next test. Despite that, it still bothered him that Deku was pulling ahead of him. Icyhot and the Nudist were nowhere near his concern at the moment. Today was an all physical training day and the quirkless nerd was given a chance to pull ahead of him.
No, quirkless wasn't right. He had a quirk, one he'd been hiding from Bakugo for all this time. Bakugo's pencil snapped in his hand. "He thinks he's better than me," Bakugo scorned. "I better be able to fight him in the sports festival. I'll prove I'm better than him and win."
Admittedly he hoped he would be able to fight Midoriya in the combat trials. Instead, he got the half-n-half asshole and dunce face. He lost. If he face the former of the two he would have to win. He only won because they were in an enclosed space. In a more open area, he would have a mobility advantage over him.
Him and Shihouin would both go down, though the girl would be harder to tag. Lightning-fast speeds, extreme strength, and even more impressive endurance. Maybe if he was lucky those two would get each other and save Bakugo the energy.
While he thought about it he reached into an open desk drawer for another pencil. Has he stared at the bottom of his drawer where his pencil once lay his eyes landed on an All Might magazine. It was a few years out of date, something he got back in 6th grade. That hero was the main reason he went to U.A. in the first place. Not because he was a teacher, but because he was his idol.
It infuriated him. He wasn't the only one to notice the private talks he had with Deku. It happened a few times every week. He didn't know why Izuku was getting special treatment from All Might. What qualities did he have that Bakugo didn't? Bakugo was stronger than Izuku, he had better control of his quirk, better grades, and better everything. What does Izuku have that he doesn't? If it were Todoroki or Shihouin he might get it, but he'd still be angry – actually, now that the thought crossed his mind he would be angrier at Shihouin getting special treatment from All Might than Deku. When he first appeared as a teacher in their class she looked more surprised than awestruck. It's not a pattern that had set itself yet, but if he made an educated guess he would assume the girl doesn't care much for All Might.
She wasn't normal. She fights too aggressively for a hero, closer to a villain in all honesty. At the same time, she had a decent enough attitude to be a hero but also didn't care much for becoming one as well. At that point why even bother attending U.A.? Did the Hero Public Safety Commissions have something to do with it? If so it makes sense why she attended if she was gonna become a hero either way.
His mind was still stuck on her though. The blood that covered her body when she came to help him get to safety. She looked fine, so he knew it wasn't hers. Was it villains from the fire zone? Did she kill them? No, she wouldn't be dumb enough to do something like that in front of other students, unless he overestimated her. He knew she engaged with those League of Villains leaders. Maybe it was one of them.
Bakugo did his best to shove those thoughts away. He refocused on his studies and the upcoming sports festival. "Damn extras. I'm gonna be the number one hero!"
"Quiet down!" His mother shouted from downstairs.
"Bite my ass!"
The Next Day
Class had just ended and the students were let out for their lunch period. Given the teacher swapping, Aizawa was in another class and present was the R-Rated Hero: Midnight. Shihouin took advantage of it and asked to leave early to pick something up from the support class. Midnight let her go, but only with written proof, which she had.
Currently, their classroom was being blockaded by a horde of other students, so Shihouin got away from that before it happened. Even though it wasn't clear to the other students Bakugo could tell they were sizing them up. They were the class that survived a villain attack after all, of course they were going to stand out from the rest.
When it came to the spectators the villain attack was a mixed blessing. Having gone through a potentially deadly event and surviving meant the hero agencies would focus on them, but it also came with the expectation of performing above and beyond, truly showing what Plus Ultra means. Bakugo would probably have the least expected of him. Despite not being the only one injured in the attack he was the only one hospitalized.
"Move it!" Bakugo exclaimed, pushing himself through his own class and the rest of the crowd. "You're in my way, you damn extras!"
Sero felt himself being pushed aside by Bakugo as he made his way through. "Calm down man," he said, moving back towards his class.
"Then get out of the way!"
"Why are these guys even here in the first place?" Mina asked, trying to maneuver herself towards the entrance of the class.
Bakugo almost answered for her but was cut off by a voice above him. "We survived a villain attack and the sports festival is coming up soon. These guys are more concerned about if we'll be easy to beat than our physical well-being."
Almost everyone in the class looked up to where the voice came up from and Bakugo flinched in irritation. "Shihouin, why are you attached to the ceiling?" Asked Tsu, curiously.
She wore her school uniform with her combat gear from training on. The girls were not fortunate enough to be able to wear shorts or pants under their skirts, so people like Mineta could look under them and see everything but skin. The socks didn't reach high enough either, so when her skirt hung down towards her torso all of the spectators who had never met the class before could see what color of underwear she wore that day. No shame, no embarrassment, almost like she was fully aware of what state she was in and it felt like everyone knew.
Between Bakugo's anger issues, Deku's notorious quirk already making rounds around the school, and now Yoruichi, completely aware of what she's doing, the class was worried that everyone might think they're either eccentric or weird. Most just hoped they didn't find out about Mineta or Aoyama, further adding credence to the 'weird' label.
"I had the support class make modifications to my gear," She answered Tsu, the entire audience watching in bewilderment at the causal back and forth. Most sane members of class 1-A had backed into the classroom hoping not to be seen. "There's this one girl who took on the project by herself – she's a bit strange, but in a good way – who ran me by a bunch of ideas she had in mind. I was only looking for durability and weight adjustment, but she added a magnetic grip to my greaves! It's kinda cool! Don't think I'll need to use it though."
Shihouin dropped down from the ceiling and landed perfectly on her feet almost like a cat would. The loud thud of her metal equipment startled the onlookers, making the forward most people step back in reaction.
From the crowd, a lone student approached the class. He was blonde-haired, blue-eyed, and of average height. He didn't stand out much from most others in the school, but some of the class recognized him while passing by the neighboring classroom in the hero course.
"So this is class 1-A?" He said, almost mockingly. "A bunch of weirdo's who think they're better than the rest?" His eyes shifted from Yoruichi then immediately to Bakugo after finishing.
"None of us said that," said Tsu in a matter-of-fact voice.
"You don't need to. It's written all over your faces! Just because you survived a villain attack doesn't-" his rant was cut short by a swift chop from an enlarged hand to the back of his head.
The boy flopped to the ground quickly, the same hand picking him up like an adult's hand to a child's doll covering his whole body aside from his head and feet. This time a girl walked out of the crowd, the one to who the hand belonged. She looked at the class apologetically and handed off the boy to someone else at the back of the crowd.
"Sorry! He's not normally like that!" She apologized sincerely. "I'm Kendo Itsuka, from class 1-B. I was hoping that our first introduction would have been the exact opposite of that, but it seems like it didn't."
Bakugo looked at the girl with a disdainful stare and brushed her off. "Whatever," he said, shoving his way through the crowd. "Move it!"
"Ignore him," Yoruichi advised the girl. "He's like that to us too."
"So he's the only one who's like that then?" Kendo asked, looking at the visible remainders of the class.
"Just about," Yoruichi replied.
"Regardless of what he said..." another student came out of the crowd. Another boy, this time one just above average height, his messy hair colored indigo and his eyes a deep and dull purple color, stepped out from the crowd. "All you kids in the hero course should be careful. If the school feels like you won't live to be up to standards as a hero, you can be pulled and someone who wants in can take your spot."
"And you would be?" Shihouin asked, grabbing his attention away from the majority of her class.
"Shinso Hitoshi. From the gen-ed course."
Shihouin eyed him down curiously. There was a reason he brought that information up and it was obvious to anyone with a brain. She stepped away from the boy in the direction of the support workshop. "Well, I don't plan on wasting the lunch period here and I gotta take these back to the workshop before Power Loader or Mei realize they're missing."
Immediately she vanished from the vicinity without a sound or indication she had ever been there. Bakugo had begun to once more push his way forward through the crowd. The students had parted and whatever members of his class were quick enough to fill in behind him escaped alongside him. Those who did not had to wait for one of the teachers to come along to disperse the crowd.
With the horde of students gone the rest of the class could go to lunch without being blockaded in. Within a couple of minutes the hall became vacant and the students off to the cafeteria.
Shihouin stood in place with her arms extended outwards from her sides as the sleep-deprived support student measured her wingspan. She watched as the manic support student filled around with her gauntlets while they were still being worn by her. Mei pulled back with an excited smile on her face.
"Point your right arm at the metal wall and pull on the new handle I put in your equipment!" She giddily exclaimed, unable to contain herself.
Yoruichi did as instructed, although curious and slightly nervous. Even Power Loader, who had been watching the two, looked confused as to what was going to happen. Yoruichi pulled back on the grip, balling her hand and feeling the recoil as the top of her gauntlet ejected outwards being fueled by an explosion. The top punched through the metal wall with ease and embedded itself in the workshop wall behind it. Less than a second after it began to unfold, further nailing itself to the wall and unleashing a powerful electrical current that shut off power in the workshop.
"Mei," Yoruichi began, "What was the goal of doing this to my equipment?"
"To easily subdue villains!" She exclaimed, proudly, approaching Yoruichi's gauntlets. "I just need to reduce the power of the explosion and the ampage and voltage of the electricity. I'm surprised your arm is still attached to your socket after that."
"Mei, how about I take over," Power Loader suggested, stepping toward the pair of students. "You go enjoy your lunch period and I'll get the power restored."
"It's fine sen-"
"Mei, go eat," he instructed more irritably this time, but still keeping a decent measure of calm. "You can finish up other projects when you get back from lunch. In the meantime, I'll restore the power.
"Maijima-sensei," A random student greeted the teacher, dragging the attention of all three occupants to his direction. "The boy's bathroom lost power."
Next, after the boy, was another student who had some food stains on her face. "Power Loader-sensei, half of the cafeteria lost power."
Soon after his phone rang. Power Loader reached into his pocket and looked at the screen. It was Principal Nezu.
"Maijima-kun, a lot of rooms near the support workshop have lost electricity, is there a reason for that?" The principal's voice said over the phone.
"Yes," he answered. "I was just about to fix it."
Power Loader's eyes fixated themselves on the top of Shihouin's gauntlet that was still stuck in the wall. "God damn it."
Luckily for the hero and gen-ed courses, they were further away from the support workshop. This further confused Shihouin as to the structure and orientation of the school. It seemed as though the cafeteria were on opposite sides of the hero course hallway, but at the same time, they were right next to each other.
Aizawa was as tired as ever and had chosen to spend his lunch period in the 1-A classroom closet. He had fallen out face first onto the ground and wormed his way to his desk. After removing himself from his sleeping bag he halfheartedly greeted the class and began the lesson.
Today's lesson revolved around urban combat with villains. What do they do if a situation like that occurs how to swiftly handle a villain if it happened, what to prioritize in the event (evacuation or subduing and why), and how to prevent it in the first place. The obvious answer for preventing it in the first place would be to overpower them within the first few seconds, it can't get more complicated than that.
"Talk to the people around you, how would you handle the situation." Aizawa
Bakugo was the first person around Yoruichi to speak his mind. "I'd blow the guy to hell. Easy."
Yoruichi saw a potential way to poke at Bakugo but avoided it for the sake of out-rationalizing him. "What about the civilians of potential property damage?" She asked in a flat tone of voice.
"The civilians would be evacuated, dumbass-"
"But the property damage?" Yoruichi further prodded. "Knowing you, no hero insurance company would be willing to pay potentially tens of millions in damages caused during your fights."
"Then I wouldn't overuse my quirk," he answered plainly.
"And if the villain's quirk gave them an artificial blast padding, rendering your quirk useless?" Yoruichi's questioning of Bakugo's ideas was clearly sending the boy into an annoyed fit. She was enjoying watching the veins in his forehead pop at her constant "what if's".
"Well, at least I have ideas! I don't hear you spouting out how you would handle it!"
A fair point in her book, so she gave her idea. "I'd close the distance before he could start fighting and forcefully subdue him."
"What if the villain is faster than you?" Bakugo countered, using her method's against her.
She smirked slightly and suddenly the air in the room became heavy as if pressure was pushing down on him. Bakugo was stuck in his seat and the kids who had their heads down couldn't lift them off their desks. Aizawa, who was laying back down in his bag, couldn't stand up.
Then the pressure stopped and the rest of the class could move again. "I'd do that," she answered.
"How the hell do you do that?" Sero asked, interrupting the back and forth between Shihouin and Bakugo.
Yoruichi went bug-eyed as she tried to think of an excuse to explain her pressurizing the room with reiatsu. "Uhh... I dunno. I just know I can."
"And how long have you known you could do that?" Sero asked.
"Since the U.S.J. attack," she quickly answered, keeping up the lie she's created. "I just did it, and I've sort of figured it out, kinda, but not fully." That didn't make sense and she knows it, but Sero seemed to buy it. Bakugo on the other hand looked at her with scrutiny.
She had to admit that Katsuki was smart and fairly perceptive, so he very, highly likely had his reservations about her excuse. He was like Midoriya, but less oblivious and more obnoxious. Izuku would probably buy it, maybe Aizawa – but probably not –, but Bakugo was unlikely. She'd have to come up with a reasonable excuse quickly to not have another person trying to figure her out. Aizawa was enough, Bakugo would be too much.
"Well what if the villain- what if you-" Bakugo seemed to let her display go for now, but still wanted to thoroughly question her if given the chance.
The class talked among themselves for a bit more before Aizawa stood back up at his desk. "Times up," he said. "What have you all come up with? Aoyama-kun, your first."
"I would bedazzle them with my magnifique sparkling shine," he answered, absolutely glowing with a bright radiance.
"That's not an answer," Aizawa replied, slightly deflating the eccentric student. "Ojiro-kun what about you?"
"I don't think I would be able to do it by myself depending on the villain," he answered. "I would try to buy time while causing as little damage as possible until backup arrives."
"Good answer. Some villains are too much for one person to handle alone. Even if it takes longer, so long as your safety and the safety of everyone around you is assured, the best thing to do is to wait. Shouji-kun?"
"Same thing as Ojiro-kun," he replied. "If I can't end the encounter in the first few minutes my best bet is to wait for backup."
Aizawa nodded and moved on to the next. "Hagakure?"
"Sneak up on him and put 'em on the ground!" She answered.
"With your quirk it would work well. Good answer. Bakugo?"
And so he went on. Bakugo gave his answer, and Aizawa commented on how reckless the plan seemed and critiqued it. Jiro said she'd make use of her equipment, plug her earphone jacks into the speakers on her boots and send a sonic wave to bring the villain to the ground. Again reckless, but only if there were other people around. Then was Kaminari whose plan would result in a city-wide blackout, Mina whose plan would probably only damage the road if her acid laid on it for too long, Asui who planned to use her agility and frog tongue to subdue the villain, Kirishima who had a very brute force approach that would only endanger himself, Sero who had a similar plan to Asui, and then Shihouin.
"Like I told Bakugo, I'd try to end it before it starts. If I can't outpace him then I'd use that pressure thing I did earlier to pin him down."
"Smart, but if the villain can outpace you he'd be able to reach you before you could use it," Before moving on to Midoriya who sat behind her he made one more comment. "Also, use that ability one more time in my class you'll be lucky to step foot on this campus again."
"Understood," she replied, doing her best to sound like she cared.
"Good," He said, moving onto the boy behind her. "Midoriya-kun?"
"W-well, I would hope that by the time something like this would happen I'd have better control over my quirk, b-but something like this already did happen and I couldn't control it really well. I'd have to train it more and..."
"Midoriya, focus!" Aizawa shouted, snapping Izuku out of his mind.
"S-sorry! With the state my quirk is in at the moment I couldn't hope to use it in a scenario like that. Maybe in the future I'll have better control, but that doesn't matter now. I suppose I'd just have to buy time like Ojiro-kun until more heroes show up."
"Is that all?" Aizawa asked, hoping to get more out of him. Izuku nodded in confirmation. "I've seen your grades, I've seen your footage from the combat training sessions. Even without your quirk you're smarter than that. While I do think buying time and waiting for backup is a good solution it isn't without its problems. Sometimes if you keep waiting and waiting, and no one shows up you'll eventually run out of energy and be taken out of the fight. If you can't win using your quirk then win using your head. The best combination is using both."
Aizawa moved on, getting to the rest of the class minutes before the end-of-school bell rang. He looked towards the door as the last student left and immediately turned back to his to pack his things. Despite packing his things he couldn't go home just yet. According to Power Loader, Shihouin was somehow involved in the localized blackout and Aizawa was curious.
He did his best to speed to the support workshop before Maijima left, if only to see if he needed to bring down a heavier hand on the girl.
Shihouin sat down at her shoddy coffee table with her language homework out in front of her. It was pointless having to do Japanese in her perspective, she's been speaking it for centuries now. English class had a bit of an argument behind it, given its status as one of the most spoken languages in the world and the Western Soul Society branch was based in London. Not to mention her skills in speaking the language were... lacking. It's not like she'd ever need to speak the language anyway, Reverse London and the Seireitei rarely ever communicate with each other, and it's not like Japanese heroes ever leave the country on business either.
Regardless of that, she maintained a decently high grade in those classes. The Japanese class was so easy for her that she nearly beat out Yaoyorozu for the highest grade. Yoruichi had forgotten that language can change so much in a few centuries. She may have gotten used to the new colloquialisms and slang terms, but she had never had to spell them before.
Her television was turned on to provide background noise while she worked. The typical action shows she watched were over or aren't being aired until later, so the news was the best option. If she couldn't entertain herself she could at least see the happening of the world around her.
"... more importantly, the Hero Killer, Stain has been spotted in Hosu. Authorities advise caution after finding the dead body of the hero Nova in an alley nearby our location."
Admittedly it was hard to stay up to date and do homework at the same time. Most of her attention was focused on the paper in front of her, so most of what the anchors had to say went in one ear and out the other.
Her homework should be done fairly quickly. She had already finished her mathematics, Japanese history, hero course and basic sciences, and language was by far her easiest. With nothing else to do after her homework she'd have to find something to do later.
Hello! It's been about 3 months hasn't it? I hope this satisfies for now. No replies for now, but I'll at least get to them next chapter. Have a good day/night/afternoon or whenever you're reading this!
