At the back of the Auction house, where the people are willing to send their items for bidding, Issei was waiting in line with Raynare and Yang Xin. There were a sea of people planning to send their items for bidding.
Looking at the items that were being put up for bidding, Issei found them useless, yet, he saw one of the items go for ten million demon spirit coins. If that's the case, he doesn't have to use any of his higher rarity forged weapons. If Issei's estimate was correct, all the weapons sold for ten million demon spirit coins were at most Rare rarity.
Issei had to wait for thirty minutes before it was his turn to give his item for inspection before being put up for bidding. This is to ensure that the items being put in the Auction are worth something. Any item less than a hundred thousand demon coins aren't worthy of being put up for bidding.
"Sir, please show us the items you plan to up in the auction," The appraiser said. Issei took out three weapons of Epic rarity that he forged a few years ago. Yang Xin, Raynare and the appraiser had their mouths wide open. Yang Xin and the appraiser felt that the weapon Issei took out was at least a Legend rank weapon. As for Raynare, the fire element, ice element, and holy element on the swords were so strong that it was rivalling Dragon Breath and an Eight Winged Angel's Holy Energy. "S-Sir! Are you sure you wish to put these three weapons in the auction?!".
"Mr Issei, please think carefully," Yang Xin warned Issei. The weapon that Issei took out isn't something that anyone would just sell. Legend Rank items are scarce in Glory City. Yet, a person is casually planning to sell three, not one, but three Legend Rank items. "This kind of item isn't normally sold in this type of place. It's normally sold in bigger auction houses that are more well-reputed".
"It doesn't matter where I sell it," Issei said. He wasn't worried, nor did he care if he didn't get full price for it. All that matters is that he gets enough money to buy all the alchemical ingredients he needs. Issei looked at the appraiser, and the manager arrived while he was speaking to Yang Xin. "Please, go ahead and put it up for auction. But try and get the most money you can. If I'm satisfied with the price, I'll give you thirty percent of the earnings".
"Understood!" The appraiser and the manager got to work. They weren't going to let this chance slip by. There are no auction houses that could boast that they sold three Legend Rank weapons in one go. The manager then called all the people to make sure to try and invite some of the noble houses. "If sir can wait a few hours, I can get the most for your item. I'll try and invite the people of the Sacred Family, Snow Wind family and Winged Dragon family. I don't believe that they wouldn't come after hearing of a Legend Rank weapon up for Auction!".
"I'm a patient man. A few hours is nothing," Issei said. Raynare then whispered in his ears about having to head back home in a few hours. Issei then whispered in her ears. "Shoot, I forgot to tell you, didn't I? We're staying here for a month. But don't worry, a month here is no more than a day and seven hours back home. So, relax and have fun".
Raynare sighed a breath of relief. This is because Raynare and Serafall are having a sleepover in a few days. She didn't want to miss that, as they would be discussing something about Issei and his soon growing harem.
After waiting for three hours, there was a large commotion in the Auction house. The Noble and Aristocratic families have arrived. In reality, although the Winged Dragon family came to the Auction, they aren't participating. They only came to save face. The actual competition would be between the Sacred Family and the Snow Wind Family.
"I guess the big shots have arrived," Issei said. He looked at the elders of each of the family. To other people, they have such a domineering presence. But to Issei's eyes, they looked like a bunch of kittens hissing at each other after they stepped on each other's tails. "Hmm…Yang Xin, who are the people on the right side?".
"The one on the right side is the Sacred family elders," Yang Xin said. She then saw Issei's eyes land on another party. So, she decided to explain who they were. "The one on the left side is the Snow Wind Family. Their head is the current City Lord".
"By the way, why do I feel such a sinister energy on the people of the Sacred family?" Issei said. The bloody aura around them was so thick and disgusting. Killing hundreds of thousands of people is not enough to gain such a thick bloody aura. Only when a vast amount of innocent people are killed would such a bloody aura form. "They feel dark and bloody. How many innocent people have they killed, and why are they still allowed to roam in the city?".
"Hah… It's not that simple," Yang Xin said. She knew of the notoriety of the Sacred family. But there is nothing the City Lord can do at the moment as they have no proof and the Sacred family is quite cautious. At least the older generations are. "There are rumours that the Sacred family are in cahoots with the Dark Guild, but without proof, the City Lord isn't allowed to mobilise".
Issei dropped the subject for now. But if the Sacred family are to mess with him in the future, they won't survive the next day. No! They wouldn't be surviving the next hour. At least if they go overboard.
Once the Auction for the Legend Rank weapons started, there was a fierce battle of wealth between the Sacred Family and Snow Wind family. Initially, the first weapon being auctioned was only supposed to be a hundred million. The elders' stupidity and fragile pride decided to increase their bid. What was meant to be a hundred million became seven hundred and fifty million.
Issei was laughing at the elders' stupidity. Really? For such a useless thing as face, you are willing to waste your funds? Issei shook his head.
"Are these people stupid?" Raynare said. She saw how one of the insulted elders puked blood out of anger. This is the first time Raynare has seen something so absurd. "Is this really a thing here? Puking blood out of anger".
"It's quite a common occurrence," Yang Xin said. She's seen it almost every day. The last time was a few hours before she met with Issei and Raynare. One of the so-called Young Master was arguing, and one of them puked blood out of anger. "You'll eventually get used to it".
"No thanks," Raynare said. She would rather not see such bizarre sight. "I don't even want to see such things".
After all the weapons that Issei put up for auction were sold, Issei and Raynare asked Yang Xin where they could stay for the night and also have dinner. Yang Xin recommended one of her favourite restaurants, which is not far from the Auction house.
Issei is now quite wealthy. The first weapon sold for seven-hundred-and-fifty-million demon spirit coins. The second was sold for six-hundred-and-ten-million spirit coins. And the last weapon was sold for eight-hundred-and-ninety-five million spirit coins.
Overall, it was quite a lucrative business to forge weapons and sell them in the Auction. Issei got Two-Billion-Two-Hundred-and-Fifty-Five Million demon spirit coins.
After deducting the thirty percent for the auction house, Issei was left with One-Billion-Five-Hundred-Seventy-Eight-Million-and-Five-Hundred-Thousand demon spirit coins.
Issei and Raynare no longer needed to worry about not having any funds. Then again, they wouldn't have any difficulty even if they didn't get any funds. Issei can always build them a shelter and conjure food to eat.
After having dinner and heading inside the room, they've rented. Issei and Raynare converse about things that have happened in the day.
"So? What do you think of this world?" Issei asked. He looked at Raynare and so her thinking about her day. "It's not that bad, is it?".
"No, it's not. It's just a new experience, that's all," Raynare said. She sighed. The experience overall was great for today. The only issue Raynare had was the puking blood out of anger. "Other than the weird puking blood thing, everything was great. I wonder what we could experience tomorrow when we look around the city".
Issei and Raynare slept after talking for an hour about their experience. They didn't know what to expect the following morning, but they would not let this chance to explore a brand new world. Issei was even curious about the Demon Beast that the system told him about that lurks outside the walls of Glory City.
