"Real Villains? No way. How could so many of them get into a UA facility this secure?" Kirishima questioned.
Questions started popping up from each student, unsure of what was happening.
"Thirteen, get them out of here and alert the main campus." Mr. Aizawa directed Thirteen.
Ayumu took another step back, " You guys heard him, let's get out of here."
"Kaminari, try using your quirk to contact the school." Mr. Aizawa requested and Kaminari went to work.
"What are you going to do? You can't fight them on your own!" Mydoria shouted. "There's too many of them. Even if you can nullify their quirks, your fighting style is not suited for this. Your power works best in stealth and one on one fights. That's not going to help with a group."
"You can't be a pro with only one trick. I'll leave it to you, Thirteen." With that Mr. Aizawa leapt off of the platform and into the fight.
The class watched helplessly for a few moments as Mr. Aizawa took out a few villains before the students turned and rushed toward the exit after Thirteen. Before they could reach the exit, the black hole from before formed in front of them, taking the shape of a humanoid creature.
"There's no escape for you." The hole said.
The class froze in front of it, the door blocked.
"It's a pleasure to meet you. We are the league of villains. I know it's impolite, but we decided to invite ourselves into this haven of justice to say hello. And besides, isn't this a fitting place for All Might, the symbol of peace to take his last breath?"
Ayumu felt her blood run cold as the villain continued.
"I believe he was supposed to be here today and yet I see no sign of him. There must have been some sort of change in plans we could not have foreseen. Ah, well in the end I suppose it doesn't matter, I still have a role to play."
"Guys, don't!"
Before anyone could react, Bakugo and Kirishima had leapt forward toward the villain. An explosion went off against the villain making it difficult to see.
"Did you think we were just going to stand around and let you tear this place to shreds?" Kirishima asked.
Ayumu reached into her pocket and pulled out the weights, one resting in between each of her fingers, and rushed forward to where Bakugo and Kirishima stood as the smoke began to clear.
"Don't you ever get tired of being reckless?" Ayumu shouted to Bakugo.
Bakugo didn't take his eyes off where the villain was hidden from the smoke, "Shut up, Extra, I have a plan."
"You live up to your school's reputation, but you should be more careful, children. Otherwise, you might get hurt."
"You three, get out of the way right now!"
"I'll scatter you across this facility! To meet my comrades and your deaths!"
The wind picked up around Ayumu and it became impossible to see. She could hear her classmates shouting, but couldn't make out the words over the sound of the wind. Moments later the black smog desolated and Ayumu slammed into the floor.
Ayumu hit the floor and groaned, dropping the weights she had been holding with a thud. She had felt sore before she had come to the USJ, and that fall didn't help at all. She sat up and looked around, reaching for the fallen weapons. She was in a different area. An old building with busted out windows. The floors looked unstable.
Kirishima sat nearby, rubbing his arm. Bakugo was already on his feet and making his way toward one of the broken windows.
"Hey, are you guys okay?"
"Yeah, I just landed weird, but I'll be fine." Kirishima responded, "Where are we?"
"The Collapse Zone." Bakugo turned away from the window. "It looks like we're about to have some company. Get up."
Ayumu and Kirishima got to their feet just in time for the door of the room they were in to be broken down. Without thinking, Bakugo and Kirishima started attacking the villains.
Ayumu picked up and threw the weights she had dropped at the nearest villain, pinning him to the wall before reaching into her pocket and pulling out the rest. Kirishima hit the villain before he could break free, knocking them out. Ayumu turned toward the villain coming up behind her, kicking them in the stomach as she did. They stumbled back far enough for her to grab the marbles from her pocket and throw them toward the ground. The villain tripped over the marbles and into Bakugo who, in turn, hit them with an explosion.
Ayumu threw the rest of her weights at a villain just as Bakugo stepped in to take them out. One weight scraped the exposed skin on Bakugo's arm before hitting the villian in the sleeve, sticking him to one of the exposed beams. Bakugo took the opportunity to send an explosion directly to their face before sending a hard glare to Ayumu.
"Watch where you're throwing that shit."
"Don't step in the line of fire and you won't get hit." Ayumu stated plainly sending a fleet of marbles toward another villain. "I hit what I'm aiming at but I don't control where the stuff goes once it leaves my hand."
"I don't want excuses, just pay attention."
"Guys, focus!" Kirishima's words broke through the chaos of the battle.
Kirishima and Bakugo took care of most of the villains without much trouble as Ayumu threw anything she could get her hands on, trying to focus more carefully on where Kirishima and Bakugo were and to predict their moves. Finally, after what felt like hours, the last villain hit the ground. The three kids left standing were breathing hard, but mostly unharmed.
"I think that's the last of these guys. Bunch of weaklings." Bakugo huffed out between breaths.
Kirishima turned to him, his quirk still activated, "Alright, let's hurry and find the rest of our class. If we're still in the USJ, everyone else probably is too and not all of them have the offensive skills we do. We gotta make sure they're safe. Especially since we screwed things up when we got in the way earlier. If Thirteen had been able to suck up that villain, then we never would have been separated like that. We have to make it up to the others."
"I think Kirishima's right. The others could be really struggling right now. We should go help them out." Ayumu agreed, picking up some of her marbles that had rolled close by, she'd have to find as many of her support items as she could. Without them she'd be useless.
"If you want to track everyone down, have fun. But I'm gonna go destroy that warppy bastard." Bakugo didn't look at Kirishima or Ayumu as he spoke, but the look on his face said he was determined.
Ayumu rolled her eyes and moved to Bakugo's other side, "Come on, be reasonable. You know that's not smart."
"Yeah, our physical attacks didn't hurt that guy. Come on, don't be an idiot, man."
"Shut up." Bakugo rounded on Kirishima, putting his back to Ayumu.
"Bakugo-" Ayumu tried to cut in, putting her hand on his shoulder.
"I'm going to take him down because he is their way in and out." Bakugo continued, shrugging off Ayumu's hand. "If I cut off their escape route, they'll be stuck here and have to pay for what they've done. We'll just have to figure it out!"
Ayumu blinked at him. So he had had a plan after all. Maybe he wasn't as reckless as she'd accused him of being.
"Hope you had fun Chit-chatting," a new voice entered the room.
Bakugo spun around, grabbing Ayumu by the arm and flinging her into Kirishima behind him. A small shrek escaped her lips. Kirishima caught her easily and kept her from falling as Bakugo set off another explosion before forcing a villain to reveal himself as he slammed him into the ground. A knife dropped to the ground from the villain Bakugo had knocked unconscious and he held the villian up for Kirishima and Ayumu to see.
"Anyway, if all the villains are small frys like these guys were then our classmates can handle them."
"That reaction time was insane." Kirishima complimented, letting go of Ayumu as she regained her balance from Bakugo's shove.
Ayumu stared at the knife that had fallen from the villain's hand. If Bakugo hadn't been there, she wouldn't have known that villain was coming until it was too late. She looked up at Bakugo who had pushed himself up to stand.
"Also, when do you act so calm and rational? Usually you're like…" Kirishima was cut off by Bakugo.
"I'm always calm and rational, you read haired loser!"
"Yeah, there you are!" Kirishima joked as Bakugo let the villain fall to the floor.
The two boys continued to talk as Ayumu's gaze dropped back to the knife that the villain had dropped. She was lucky to be alive and the only person she had to thank was-
"Hey," Bakugo's voice broke her out of her trance and she met his gaze. "Are you coming or not? We don't have all day."
"You don't look too good, are you alright?" Kirishima added.
Ayumu nodded still looking at Bakugo, "I'm fine." She held his gaze for a moment, "Thanks."
Bakugo made a tsk sound, dismissing the appreciation, "Don't worry about it." He started to turn toward the door but stopped, "Consider this me repaying you for this morning. Now you can't say I owe you."
Ayumu laughed once and headed out after Kirishima and Bakugo. "Doesn't seem like a fair trade, but I'll take it."
The group headed out of the collapse zone and out to the main walkway. Ayumu looked around at all the zones and began walking off toward the Landslide Zone.
"Where are you going?" Kirishima shouted after her, "we should stick together."
She turned around to face them, "You two go ahead. I'm going to find our classmates. Honestly, I probably wouldn't be much help against the Warp guy. I'll probably just slow you down."
Bakugo and Kirishima watched her for a second.
"You shouldn't go off alone." Bakugo stated plainly.
Ayumu nodded, "I'll be fine." She assured.
Bakugo rolled his eyes and turned to walk off, "Whatever, don't say I didn't warn you."
Ayumu scoffed at his warning and started walking backward, "I'll see you when this is over. Stay safe." She waved at Kirishima.
"You too." Kirishima replied as he turned and jogged after Bakugo before falling into step with him, leaving Ayumu to head in the other direction.
As she entered the Landslide zone, Ayumu noticed Todoroki standing next to villains who seemed to be frozen.
"Todoroki!" Ayumu started running toward him. She stepped on a patch of ice and fell forward.
"Shit." She stood up, seeing that the ice had cut a hole in the knee of her pants. Some blood dripped from a scrape on her knee. It stung, but was nothing serious.
A chuckle came from behind her, "Little girl, you should know better than to have come here alone."
A sharp pain erupted in the back of Ayumu's skull and everything went black.
