Magical Girl Spec-Ops Asuka: The Seeds of Agito

"Tadaima(I'm home)...!" One Otori Asuka called out once she entered the apartment complex that was her home, not that she was expecting anyone to reply back since she lived alone—

"Okairi(Welcome back), Asuka-chan!" In the process of taking off her shoes, the ash-blond haired girl looks up in mild surprise to see a man slightly older than her dressed in a pink apron, giving her a warm smile akin to a wife welcoming back her husband, except the genders were reversed in this case.

"Haru," Asuka identified her neighbor and childhood friend. She didn't have to ask how the man was in her apartment room, having given him the spare key when she first bought this place. Sniffing the air, Asuka caught the scent of cooked fish accompanied by the faint smell of peppers coming from the kitchen. It seems Haru has already made dinner.

"You look tired. I've already got the bath warmed up and ready for you, or maybe you want to eat first?" Haru asked as he went up to the girl and took the grocery bags from her hands.

"I'll take a bath first," Asuka answered, thanking her friend for warming up the tub as she headed for the bathroom to wash up. As the man had said, she was tired, especially after what happened today.

After a nice, relaxing bath, the stress of today seemingly washing away, Asuka exited the bathroom, refreshed. Throwing the towel she had used to dry herself off into a nearby laundry basket, Asuka made her way to the kitchen only to jump in surprise when she found an Iizuka Yoshiaki sitting in her living room couch.

"Did you make a spare key?" Asuka asked, giving the man a look of suspicion.

"Your friend was the one who let me in," Said the man that was her legal guardian.

Asuka sighed to herself. Sometimes, Haru was simply too nice, but then again it's not like he knew any better, being an amnesiac and all.

Yoshiaki opened his mouth to speak, no doubt to talk about what happened this afternoon, but before he could get a word out, Haru appeared from the kitchen.

"Hey! The food will get cold if you keep standing around here. You too, Iizuka-san, I already made a plate for you. Come on!"

Motioning for the two to come to the dinner table, a plate of fish awaited all three of them accompanied by bowls of rice and a big plate of sliced peppers placed at the center of the table for everyone to easily reach for.

"This looks great, Haru," Asuka said as she sat down.

"Hehe, wait until you try the peppers, I grew them myself," Haru said with a confident and prideful smirk.

"In that case..." Giving out a quick thanks for the food, Asuka grabbed her chopsticks and dug into the fish. A smile broke out once the food entered her mouth. The fish was cooked just right and wasn't too salty nor wasn't it bland. Grabbing a pepper from the plate, she popped that into her mouth and her smile grew bigger.

"This is great, Haru," Asuka complimented the man as she ate more of her food.

"Ehehe..." Haru in response blushed at the compliment before turning to Yoshiaki and asked, "And what about you, Iizuka-san?"

"Better than anything I can ever make," Yoshiaki said with complete honesty, his metal prosthetic gripping his metal chopsticks as he ate his food. While he wasn't one to give out compliments often, he could honestly say that Haru's cooking was better than any restaurant he ever visited.

"Glad to hear that!" Haru smiled brightly. Grabbing his own pair of chopsticks, Haru talked as he ate. "So, Asuka-chan, anything exciting happened to you today?"

Asuka pauses briefly, glancing over at Iizuka as her mind goes back to the earlier afternoon.

(Earlier Afternoon)

"AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

The man who's legs she just cut off screamed bloody murder as she stood over her friend protectively, standing against those that had their guns aimed right at her. She wasn't afraid, far from it. Unless these people had Magical Equipment on them, they were little to no threat to her. What she was afraid of was her friend getting caught in the crossfire. So to make sure that doesn't happen...

*RATATATATATATATATA!*

Bullets were fired from guns, all aimed towards her, but she didn't flinch in the face of them. Conjuring up her Magic Shield, she ran through the bullets, getting close to the masked attackers and made quick work of them. With a spun of her weapon, she sliced every gunman into bloody pieces.

*VROOM!*

Her eyes widen in surprise when from her left, an armored jeep sudden drives on up. The ceiling opens up, allowing a man in a gas mask to pop up with a minigun, open firing on her. But even this didn't scare her.

With a wave of her hand, she conjured up her Magic Shield again and easily blocked the bullets. No matter how much was fired at her, none of the bullets so much as scratched the multilayered pseudo-plasma curtain-type shield that was even able to block lasers. Moving forward, she made sure her Shield was maintained as she spun her Magical Karambit knife in her free hand. Closing the distance between her and the jeep, she swung up and sliced both the jeep, the minigun, and the gunman himself in two. Turning her back to the sliced vehicle, she walked away just as the whole thing exploded.

*BOOM!*

"...There was this guy who threw a cigarette at a classmate of mine," Asuka resumed eating as she retold the events that actually happened a few days ago. "I quickly made him apologize."

"Hee~? Is that so? I guess there are those sorts of people every now and then," Haru said, taking a bite out of his fish before resuming. "You should be more careful, Asuka-chan. I know you're strong and all, but you're still young."

"Don't worry, I know not to bite off more than I can chew. I'll be more careful," Asuka said, eating another pepper before asking, "So, what about you? Anything exciting happen?"

With his chopsticks in his mouth, Haru looks up, thinking back to what occurred before he came home.

(Earlier)

The belt around his waist pulsed, beating like a heartbeat as a bright light shined from the Alter Ring. Walking past the burning car, he accesses the situation before him.

In front of him were two people. The first was a man in a black bodysuit wearing armor. Said armor was mostly blue from the legs up to the arms. A mechanical belt was wrapped around the waist, showing some sort of meter. The upper body armor imitated pectorals with said pectorals being metallic silver. Located on the left breast was a star-like badge. Finally, a blue helmet covered the man's head with the face being silver along with the antenna-like horns. Orange lenses acted as eyes for the helmet.

The second person couldn't really be described as a 'person' at all, more like a humanoid cheetah. The body was human-like, standing as tall as a grown man. However, that's where similarities stopped as the rest of the body was cheetah-like. A belt and loincloth covered the unknown's lower region as a red scarf was wrapped around the neck. On its feet, the unknown wore ancient-looking sandals with either Egyptian or Greek origins. Finally, the head of the unknown was that of a cheetah itself.

*BOOM!*

Suddenly, the car next to him exploded into more flames just as the light from the Alter Ring died down, revealing who the new arrival looked like.

The man wore a black bodysuit with the Alter Ring still situated around the waist. On his legs, he sported golden circular knees pads with silver accents and golden bands just above the ankles. He also sported golden bands wrapped around his forearms. Over the upper body was a chest armor with a golden front that simulated pectorals and an abdomen with a rectangular black stone at the center of the chest. His sides were silver while the rest of the armor was black steel. A golden collar wrapped around the neck and connected to the black stone by a golden line. Over the shoulders were black shoulder pads with silver trimming running around the center to point to either side. Over the head was a mostly black helmet with large, red lenses acting as eyes. Over the mouth area was a layered silver mouth-piece, looking insect-like. The edges of the mouth plate were gold and connected between the eyes which rose up between the 'eyes' and spreads out into a set of horns cresting the on the forehead, and on the forehead was a small blue gem.

"AgitΩ!" The unknown seemingly recognized the masked man as it charged right at him with the intent to kill.

Leaping forward, the cheetah-like monster tried to tear the man with its claws, but the man dodged to the side, escaping said claws. Landing on its feet, the monster swung its claws hands at the mysterious masked man but said man raised his own arm to block a swing before gabbing the cheetah monster and pulled him forward while at the same time, the masked man spun around the monster and elbowed him in the back, sending it stumbling forward. Correcting itself, the cheetah monster spun around, swinging its claws again only for the arm to be knocked back as the masked man punched the unknown straight in the face. The masked man wasn't done yet as he grabbed the monster's scarf and pulled, choking the unknown as it was pulled forward where it met a knee strike to the gut, causing the monster to bend over, holding its stomach. The masked man took this chance to uppercut the unknown right in the face so hard, the monster went airborne for a second as the masked man spun around and roundhouse kicked the monster away, sending it skidding across the ground. With the monster down, the masked man took this time to prepare his finisher.

*Shing!*

Suddenly, the horns on the man's head folded out into six horns, three on each side. Crouching down into a sort of combat stance, a glowing golden symbol appeared right under the masked man's feet. He then spread his arms out, his left palm facing downward while the right palm faced upward. Pulling his left arm to his side and crossing his right arm in front of him, the glowing symbol beneath was absorbed into the man's feet. Once that was all done, he jumped.

By the time the cheetah-like monster was back on its feet, the masked man was already in the air as he tucked in his left leg and extended out his right into a flying kick as the kicking foot glowed brightly. An afterimage of the masked man was seen before he suddenly sped up, hitting the monster across the chest and sending it flying back further while the man landed right on his feet in his previous stance.

The cheetah monster groaned as it struggled to get back up. But then, from above its head appeared what looked to be a glowing circle almost as if it were a halo. Slowly turning away from the monster, by the time the man's back was turned, the monster proceeded to explode, surprising the armored man who had been watching everything from the side.

The armored man then turned to the masked man, staring in amazement as the horns on the masked man folded in, returning to its original two. Sparing a glance at the flames that were once the Cheetah Lord, he soon walked away.

"...well, there was a huge sale for the fish right here, so I was fighting against a horde of women(read: moms/housewives) in order to get the best deal," Haru said, recalling the chaos that occurred at the grocery store this morning. "Luckily, I managed the get a great deal. I even have two more fish in the freezer at my place, ready to be cooked."

"Sounds chaotic," Asuka commented, half-finished with her fish already. It was just that good.

"Oh it was, but I came out on top in the end!" Haru said, puffing out his chest looking prideful. Asuka in response simply giggled at her friend while Iizuka minded his own business and enjoyed his meal.

'I guess even with amnesia, Haru will still be Haru,' Asuka thought to herself as she enjoyed her dinner.

Four years ago, the world had been invaded by underworld creatures from another world. Known as the Disas, they first infiltrated various governments by disguising as humans before making their attack. Conventional weapons did very little against these monstrosities, causing some to almost resort to using nukes. But just when all hope was lost, help came in the form of fairies from another world. With the Disas being a common enemy, the two worlds came together to give birth to the light of hope: Magical Girls.

And so began the war against the Disas. That was three years ago. In those three years, much has changed with the world. With the access of magic, military governments and how they operated changed significantly. But none of that mattered to Asuka. As the retired Magical Girl who helped bring an end to the war, she was more concerned with integrating herself back into society.

Looking up from her plate, Asuka glances up at her friend, Yamamoto Haru. Despite appearances, the man that was her childhood friend was an amnesiac. It all began three years ago when he went missing. With the recent loss of her parents, the only thing that seemed to be the last piece of her old life was gone. Enraged, she and her comrades brought an end to the war. With the battle won, Asuka was dead set on retiring from the military.

A year and a half passed since the end of the war. She had been walking along the beach alone, reflecting over her experiences...when she found him. Right there, wash up on the beach was her long lost friend. She could hardly believe it, even more so when it was discovered that he had amnesia and thus couldn't recognize her. Heartbroken at first, Asuka had made it her mission to help her amnesiac childhood friend return to normal, starting with telling him his name.

And now, years later, here they were, eating dinner together like normal people. Being normal was good. Many people took for granted the normality of life, herself included. But not anymore.

'No more fighting. No more killing,' Asuka thought to herself as Haru finally noticed her looking at him and flashed her a smile which she returned back. No matter what happens, she would protect this new life of hers. This she swore.

Otori Asuka and Yamamoto Haru smiled at one another as they enjoyed their dinner together, seemingly ignoring Iizuka who watched the two from the sides with half-lid eyes.

'Just get married already,' He couldn't help, but think. Of course, the man chose not to speak these thoughts out loud, lest he suffers the wrath of a certain War Nurse.

And so, while completely oblivious to the other's secret, the Magical Girl and the Kamen Rider ate their dinner in peace, unaware of the danger that would soon befall the entire world.

And done! There you have it, people, Magical Girl Spec-Ops Asuka paired up with KR Agito! A pretty weird combo, I'll admit, but I couldn't help but think that this idea was not only super interesting but could actually work, depending on how the story of Spec-Ops Asuka goes. I have mixed feelings about the manga(looking at you Kurumi), but for the most part, I do like the story. And considering how much the police were involved in Agito's story, I thought since the characters here were a part of the military, this idea could work! And as always, for Rider stories that don't involve Pretty Cure, I am using my usual OC, Haru who is an amnesiac much like the OG Agito, Shinichi. Of course, the difference here is that Haru actually has someone who knows him, this case being Asuka, so he's not completely oblivious to his past, but that doesn't mean he remembers them nor what led to the events that made him suffer amnesia. For those who have watched Agito, I'm sure you've got a few ideas running in your head already.

Anyway, that's all the time I have today. This has been Ashbel Longhart here, signing out!
