Smile PreCure: WONDER Stories
(Years Ago...)
She hid behind a tree, nervously peering at the person on the ground who seemed to be unconscious. There had been what seemed to be an explosion in the woods and despite the words of her parents, the young girl had sneaked out in order to check and see if the girl she had befriended and had helped her open up to others was okay.
The last thing she had expected to find when making it to the source of the explosion was a young boy lying in the grass surrounded by damaged trees. The trees around him, as well as the one the girl was hiding behind, looked ready to fall to the ground and his clothes were slightly covered in dirt and soot as if he had just jumped through smoke and fire, adding to the mystery of who this boy was. He appeared to be older than her, perhaps by a year or two, and his red and white hair made him stand out. (Think Takeru's hair from Yugioh Vrains)
Funny enough, it was the boy's hair that made the girl cautious. Despite her shy and timid nature, even she would have noticed someone with such unique hair color. Of course, she wasn't one to talk about standing out what with her having natural pink hair, but she was digressing here. What was important was that whoever this mystery was, he was a stranger and her parents always told her never to go near strangers.
*CREAK~!*
"Kya!" The girl screamed in alarm as the tree she was hiding behind started to creak, alerting her in time as she moved out of the way before the tree fell down, causing the ground to rumble due to the weight of the entire tree crashing down onto the ground. This seemed to cause a chain reaction as other trees on the verge of falling did, causing everything to shake around the girl who crouched down in fright and gripped the mirror necklace hanging from her neck as some form of comfort and protection. Seconds later, the shaking stopping and the girl looked up to see all the trees that fell down and formed a circle around her and the boy.
"Whew! That was close," The girl breathed out, relieved that she hadn't been crushed.
"Mmm..."
"Kya!" The girl let out another scream as she quickly turned around and saw the boy stirring, having been woken up from the tree falling.
'Ah! Wh-What do I do!?' The girl thought in a panic, gripping the mirror necklace in her hand while looking around to see if she could find another hiding spot only to see that she was trapped due to the way the trees had fallen around her.
'Luna-chan!' The girl cried out the name of her friend in her mind, hoping that somehow the mystery girl would come and save her from this predicament.
"Ugh...what...?" However, much to her later surprise, all the fear and nervousness welling up inside of the girl soon vanished when the young boy opened his eyes and turned them towards the girl, showing that, to the girl's amazement, they were the color of fire.
As dark pink orbs stared back at flaming orbs, the girl found herself speaking up.
"Who...are you?"
"I..." The boy spoke up, his voice tired and a bit horse as he looked away from the girl and up at the sky, gripping what appeared to be a small book in his hand.
"I...don't know."
(Years Later)
"PreCure! Happy...Shower!"
What can only be described as a pink beam of light shot out of Miyuki's, or rather Cure Happy's hands, and struck the literal clown-faced house monster known as an Akanbe. An explosion of pink soon occurred and the cries of the Akanbe could be heard from within the pink light before it soon faded as the light died down, revealing that the monster was now no more with no trace of it anywhere.
"Huff...Huff..." Happy gasped for air as she kept her arms stretched out in front of her, her face obviously showing that she was tired and confused, trying to process what the heck had just happened.
'What was that just now? I shot something from my hands and everything got really pink. Is this normal for Pretty Cure?' Happy thought to herself before she lost the strength to stand and soon fell down.
"Miyuki!" Luckily for the newly born Cure, someone had caught her before her face met the ground. Still tired and gasping for air, Happy slowly looked up to see who had caught her and was met with the face of her childhood friend, Hagane Homura.
"Ah, Homura-kun. I won..." Happy said in a tired voice while flashing an equally tired smile.
"Yeah, I saw everything. You were amazing," Homura said, still somewhat processing that his best friend had just become a Pretty Cure, one of many heroes who protected this world. While he had a billion questions to ask and had the huge urge to write down what had happened, his concern for his best friend outweighed everything else.
"Are you okay? You're sweating," Homura asked, wiping away said sweat from the Cure's forehead before reaching into his computer bag and pulled out a bottle of water which he gave to the Cure.
"I'm fine, just really tired," Happy assured her friend before accepting the offered bottle and soon drank from it, savoring its cool taste before letting out a sigh of satisfaction, having drunk half of the bottle's contents.
"The Happy Shower takes up a lot of power~kuru," Candy, the fairy Homura and Happy had met this morning and had just risked their lives protecting it from a literal big bad wolf, informed the two.
"Obviously," Homura said, figuring that out just from seeing how tired his friend was.
"Tell me that beforehand!" Happy exclaimed, having regained some energy. She wasn't really aiming when she performed that finishing move so what if she had missed? That entire experience was really scary! Exciting, but scary!
*ding!*
"Hm?" Noticing something from her position, Happy held out her hand, and falling right into it was some sort of tiny item shaped like a strawberry. "What is this?"
"A Cure Decore~kuru!" Candy exclaimed, jumping on top of Homura's head to get a better look at the item in Happy's hand.
"A Cure what?" Homura said, both he and Happy equally confused. However, before either of them could ask what the fairy had meant, Homura remembered something.
"Wait, that wolf!"
"Ah! That's right!" Both Happy and Homura stood up in alarm, with Candy nearly falling off of the latter's head as the two looked around to find no sign of the wolfman anywhere.
"He's gone," Happy said, double-checking to make sure the wolfman was really gone before noticing that the space around them was returning to normal as evident by the full moon in the sky vanishing, returning everything back into daytime.
"Everything's back to normal," Homura pointed out, looking around in amazement.
"It's because Happy beat the Akanbe~kuru," Candy informed the two.
"So does that mean that the people's smiles have returned?" Happy asked, wondering about the people that were affected by the 'Bad Energy' that the wolfman had used.
"Only one way to find out," Homura said as he and Happy made their way to the city...until they realized something.
"Um..." Happy spoke up as she looked down at her current state. "How do I turn back to normal?"
"I don't know," Candy bluntly said.
"EH!?"
"Well, this is a predicament," Homura commented.
"What do I do!? I can't go home like this!" Happy exclaimed, very distressed. Sure she looked really cute like this, but she didn't want to look like this 24/7.
"Maybe you just have to...will it?" Homura said, unsure.
"Will that really work?"
"I mean, all the books we've read about Magical girls made it seem that way, and technically speaking, you are a magical girl right now."
"Okay...um..." Happy look down at her hands before she closed her eyes, concentrating while going "mugugugugugu..." After a minute or two, Happy reopened her eyes and raised her hands to the sky, crying out, "Tah!"
*SHINE!*
"Whoa!" Homura cried out in surprise when a wall of light suddenly appeared right behind him. Then, space seemingly started distorting, changing before returning to normal before repeating again. If Homura had to describe it, it was like flipping through a flipbook.
"Miyuki! What did you do!?" Homura exclaimed, turning back to his pink-haired friend.
"I don't know!" Miyuki screamed, having no idea what was going on, but something inside of her told her that whatever was happening wasn't her doing.
"What's happening~kuru!?" Candy shouted, gripping onto Homura's hair as if it were a lifeboat as a bright light occurred and blinded the three. After a minute, the light soon died down and after taking a moment to regain their vision, the three all gasped in surprise.
Right behind the three was the path that leads to the city. But right in front of the three was no longer the neighborhood Happy had just fought the Akanbe in. Instead, what appeared before them was a vast plain of magical nature. Greenery and strange-looking plants extended out towards the horizon where the three can see a mountain in the distance as well as what appeared to be a giant tree about the same height as the said mountain. But from there was when things got stranger as floating up into the air were rocks and boulders as if gravity had no hold on them. Not only that, but rainbow-colored bubbles floated around everywhere. And further in the distance...
"Is that a blimp over there?" Homura pointed out as over by the giant tree were what looked to be blimp-like airships.
*ROAR!*
The three all jumped in surprise as a sudden roar shook the neighborhood. A giant shadow soon flew over them and three looked up and gasped as winged lizard creature flew off into the distance.
"Was...Was that a dragon?" Happy asked, completely at a loss for words as she and others looked at the world before them.
"Was in this place~kuru?" Candy said as she looked at the scene before them in wonder. "It feels just like Märchenland only...more magical~kuru."
"It's really pretty," Happy said, admiring the magical wonder before them.
"Yeah..." Homura nodded in agreement...before rapidly snapping pictures with his phone.
"You're taking pictures~kuru!?" Candy exclaimed, looking down at the teen in surprise.
"Ah! I should do that too!" Happy said, reaching for her phone only to remember her transformed state. "Oh, right, gotta turn back first."
"And you're joining him~kuru!?" Candy exclaimed again, turning towards the Cure who was trying once again to de-transform.
"No time for that; here," Reaching into his bag, Homura pulled out and handed Happy a digital camera before pointing her over to a random direction. "See if you can get any good pictures over there."
"Leave it to me!" Happy saluted as she took the camera from Homura and started snapping away.
"Uh, shouldn't you guys be more concerned about how we got—IS THAT A WHALE~KURU!?" Candy tried to be the voice of reason only to join the two as the fairy pointed over to an actual whale swimming in the air.
"Whoa! It is!" Happy said before she took a picture of it, completely ecstatic, or as she liked to call it, 'Ultra Happy!' "This place is amazing! It's like we've stepped into a fairy tale book!"
"Yeah!" Homura nodded in agreement, feeling the same joy as his best friend. "Though..."
"Hm?"
"For some reason, this place...feels familiar," Homura said, lowering his phone as he gazed at the world in front of him with what looked like nostalgia.
"Eh? Homura-kun, you know this place?" Happy asked.
"I...I'm not sure," Homura said. Whenever he looked upon this strange world before them, there was a tight squeezing in his chest.
'Do I...know this place?' Homura thought to himself, glancing over to a bubble reflecting his image. Ever since he had been found by Miyuki all those years ago, there was always that unanswered question which no one could answer for him. Who was he and where did he come from? His current name was something he and Miyuki had thought up together and despite asking the authorities, there were no records of him anywhere. It was like he had just appeared into existence one day. So with no place to go, Miyuki and her family had taken him in and gave him his new name. He would be forever grateful to the Hoshizura's, but from time to time, he could not help wondering who he was and where he came from.
'Could this place be...' Homura thought to himself as he placed a hand over his computer bag where resting inside of it was the only clue as to who he might be.
*BOOM!*
Suddenly, breaking Homura from his thoughts, an explosion was heard coming from the city.
"What was that!?" Homura said before Happy suddenly threw his camera back to him and ran off towards the city to check out what was happening. "Ah! Miyuki, wait up!"
(Nanairogaoka City, Downtown)
Civilians screamed in terror as they ran for their lives as explosions and rubble flew everywhere. The cause of all this terror, to the confusion of Homura and Happy, were disembodied hands that flew across the air as if gravity held no control of them. They then watched in horror as those hands crashed and destroyed parts of a building. But instead of rubble falling off from the destruction, the damage caused by the hands made the building fall apart as if pieces of paper were being burnt up with broken pieces of it scattering across the air.
"The building's falling apart," Homura pointed out, utterly confused as to how the building was falling apart like that.
Happy and Candy were at a loss for words as well until the Cure noticed something from the corner of her eyes before gasping. The reason for that was...
"Something weird showed up!"
The 'weird something' was some sort of humanoid creature. Its body was very human-like but said body seemed to be made up of metal and mostly clay with the left hand being bigger than the right. What seemed to be books were stuck and lodged into the creature's body as its head was shaped like a clay bowl and its stone face was stuck into a scowl.
The creature laughed to itself as it held up a tiny book colored pure white. But seconds later, half of the book turned burnt black as if it were being corrupted. This did not escape the eyes of Homura.
"What is that book!?" Homura exclaimed as he pointed at the book in the creature's hand, all the while a wave of deja vu washed over him before a word appeared in his head.
'Megido...That creature is...a Megido...why do I know that?'
"Hmph!" The creature, the Golem Megido, scoffed at the teen as he held the small book in its hand. "Books grant us power! We shall use books to dominate the world."
"...what did you say?" Homura muttered, eyes wide as he felt something rage inside of him when he heard those words. And he wasn't the only one who felt this way.
"You're using books...to endanger the world?" Happy spoke up as she felt an emotion she's never felt before in her entire life; anger. "How could you!?"
"Silence!" The Golem Megido shouted as with a wave of his left hand, the disembodied hands that were wreaking havoc flew towards the two plus the fairy.
"Kuru~!" Candy exclaimed in fright as she jumped off of Homura's head at the same time both he and Happy ducked under the Golem's attack. However, when they two stood back up, the hands had turned around and struck the two from behind with Happy taking less damage due to still being transformed.
"The world we Megido desire has no place for humans. Begone!" As the hands flew back over to the Golem where they grabbed onto his head, the Megido waved out his left hand and sent out a pulse of power which seemed to distort space for a brief moment.
When the pulse of power passed over the trio, they all blinked in confusion as nothing happened to them. Until...
"Kuru!?" Candy screamed out in surprise when she suddenly found herself lifted into the air and flying backward. Homura, seeing this, quickly acted and quickly grabbed the fairy only to find himself being lifted off his feet.
"Oh crap!" Homura cursed as he tried to grab onto anything to prevent himself from flying back. His hand, unfortunately, slapped past a nearby lamppost, but luckily, Happy was still left as she quickly grabbed her friend's hand and then grabbed the lamppost, preventing the three of them from being sucked into what appeared to be some sort of creature what was sucking up everything from leftover food to random rubble.
"Hang on!" Happy shouted over the blowing winds trying to sweep them off their feet.
"We're gonna get sucked~kuru!" Candy exclaimed in distress as only Homura's grip was preventing the fairy from being sucked away.
"Just hang on!" Homura shouted over towards the fair, trying to pull her towards him when all of a sudden, there seemed to a flash going off in his head.
"I-I can't hold on, ▅▅▅-!" Came the echo of a young girl's voice screaming for help.
"Don't give up! Just hang on!" What followed was another echo that sounded like Homura's voice, except it was younger.
Homura gasped as the sudden flash soon ended and he was left with nothing but confusion ins his head.
'Wh-What was that?'
"Kuru!" The cries of Candy snapped Homura out of his stupor who realized in his daze that he had almost let go of the fairy. "I can't hold on~kuru!"
"Don't give up!" Homura cried out as he once again tried to pull the fair in, but the vortex trying to suck them up seemed to grow stronger.
"I'm scared~kuru!"
"Don't give up!" Happy repeated Homura's words as she tried to pull the two towards her, but was finding it difficult even with her powers. Just when it seemed like it was hopeless, Happy heard the sound of metal coming loose and looked down to see a fire hydrant wiggling loose due to the vortex. An idea soon popped into the Cure's head.
'I was able to knock back that clown-monster before. Then something like this should...!' Making sure she had a tighter grip on the lamppost she was holding onto, not realizing that her strength was leaving behind bent marks, Happy raised up a leg and kicked the fire hydrant off of its loose screws, causing the water supply it was holding in to come bursting out into the air. And due to how powerful the cortex was, all the water was soon sucked into the creature's mouth where half a minute later, it became full of water, causing it to seize sucking everything.
"Whoa!" With the threat now over, Homura found himself landing on his back as Candy ended up landing on his chest. As for Happy, she fell down on her butt, breathing a sigh of relief.
"That was close," Happy breathed out, slightly exhausted from the ordeal.
"Thanks, Miyuki. You saved our butts," Homura said, picking himself with Candy in his arms, looking down at it in concern. "Are you all right?"
Candy nodded with tears in her eyes. "Thank you for saving me~kuru."
"Don't mention it," Homura said with a smile before quickly remembering the Megido. Looking around, the teen found that the Golem was nowhere to be seen, having probably left thinking they were doomed.
*BOOM!*
The sounds of another explosion caught the trio's attention and they wasted no time heading towards it, turning a corner to find the Golem Megido continuing its rampage.
"Stop! Just why in the world are you doing this?" Homura said.
"You again? As I said before, it is all for the world we envision. And once this book is complete," The Megido held up the book in its hand showing that it had turned even more corrupted. "That vision will become a reality."
"That book...will create a new world?" Happy said. While most would have found the idea ludicrous, Happy, or rather, Hoshizura Miyuki, was not one of those people. As someone who absolutely adored picture books, she truly believed such a claim was possible. And The Cure wasn't the only one who believed in this.
"It's true that books have the power to change the world..." Homura said, balling his hands into fists. Even with no memory of who he was, Homura had always found himself attracted to book which is what led to him becoming a writer. His passion and love for books were second to none.
"But..." Which is why when he heard the words spewing from the Golem's mouth, Homura felt his blood boil. "That power...isn't meant to make people suffer!"
"That's right~kuru!" Candy spoke up. As a fairy who came from the land of fairytales, to see books being used in such a way outraged her. "The power of books is meant to make people happy~kuru!"
"Hmph! What would the likes of you three know?" The Megido asked, scoffing at them.
"We are the ones who write books!" Homura shouted. "The power to create stories comes from us, the people!"
"There's no way we'll let you use books for such selfish reasons!" Happy shouted as she charged towards the Megido.
The Golem scoffed at this, thinking the girl was in over her head. But to his surprise, when he tried to swat the girl away, she ducked under his swing and punched the Golem in the gut, sending the Megido skidding back holding his punched stomach, bending over in pain.
"What!? How, how can a mere human hurt me!?"
"I'm not just any regular human. I may still be new to this, but I am a Pretty Cure, one who protects this world from bad guys like you! And I swear on my name as Cure Happy, I will not allow you to use books for evil!" Happy declared loudly as she once again charged at the Megido, aiming to take away the book in his hand.
"Enough!" The Golem shouted angrily as he suddenly shot a ball of darkness from his left hand, surprising the Cure who quickly crossed her arms in front of her to guard against the attack. Even then, when the ball struck, Happy was sent flying back, rolling across the ground.
"Miyuki!" Homura quickly ran over to the Cure's side, helping her up.
"Don't push yourself! You're still exhausted from your earlier battle~kuru!" Candy said.
"But if I don't do something..." Happy said with gritted teeth. In her battle against the Akanbe, due to how sudden it was, she was more scared than anything and her victory was only due to luck. A small part of her wished to not go through something like that again. However, right now, even when exhausted while fighting another monster, Happy refused to stay down as this wasn't just a battle for survival. It was a battle with her beliefs at stake!
"We can't let him...use that book..." Happy pushed herself up, gathering energy for a second wind.
"That's enough out of you!" The Golem exclaimed as the hands on his head detached themselves and flew up to a nearby building, destroying a section of it and causing the rubble to fall straight down towards the trio.
Seeing this, yet with an exhausted Cure with them, Homura tried using his body to shield Happy and Candy as the rubble all fell down upon them, burying the trio completely.
"Hmph! Good riddance," The Golem Megido said to himself as the detached hands came back to him. He didn't know what exactly this 'Pretty Cure' was, but it didn't matter now. Now to get back to his assigned ta—
*THOOM!*
"What!?" The Megido exclaimed in surprise when he felt a shockwave occur from under the rubble. A second later, another one occurred before a flash of a red light could be seen under the rock before a third shockwave occurred, this one powerful enough to blow the rubble off revealing the safe forms of Homura and the others.
"E-Eh?" Happy blinked in confusion with the others doing the same.
"We're okay-kuru?" Candy said before a flash of red light drew the attention of everyone.
The said red light was coming from Homura's bag. Naturally curious, Homura reached into his bag and pulled what appeared to be a small, metallic book. Its covers were bright red while its 'pages' were black. On the front cover was an illustration of a red dragon breathing fire with the title of the book displayed over the dragon.
BRAVE DRAGON
"Homura-kun, your book!" Happy said, pointing at the glowing book in her friend's hand.
"It saved us again?" Homura said as the light died down. First, it was when that werewolf had shown up, and now once again its mysterious powers had appeared to aid them.
'But why? It's never done anything like this these past ten years. Why now?' Homura thought to himself, confused as to why this mysterious book was reacting like this after all this time.
Reaching down with his free hand, Homura grabbed the front cover and to his surprise, it opened.
'It opened? I can open it now?' With confusion growing inside of him, Homura pulled back the cover to reveal another illustration of the same dragon breathing fire while right behind the front cover were words Homura could not make heads or tails of...yet he found himself understanding it anyway. And even if he didn't understand what these unknown words said, the book translated it for him for everyone to hear.
~There was once a Divine Beast possessing a great power that would destroy everything...~
"Impossible! Why does a mere human like you have Wonder Ride Book!?" The Golem Megido exclaimed in disbelief.
"Wonder...Ride Book?" Homura repeated, now having identification to the book in his hands as the words rang a distant bell in his hand.
*FLASH!*
Suddenly, the book in Homura's hand lit up again before it shot up into the sky, becoming a huge vortex of fire which then shaped itself to resemble the dragon that was illustrated on the front cover. With a god-like roar that seemed to shake the very world itself, the flaming dragon flew down and crashed right in front of Homura and the others, throwing them as well as the Megido back due to the flames that washed over everyone from the shockwave. Yet only the Megido seemed to be affected by the flames as Homura, Happy, and Candy found themselves completely fine.
"Guh!" Homura let out a grunt as he lowered his arms down and saw centered in the flames was sword bathed in fire. "A sword? Wha—guh!"
When the world unravels, the dragon will awaken the Sword of Flames.
'Wh-What?' Homura thought in confusion before another splitting headache occurred followed by more words, only this time they came with a voice.
"Hope lies beyond your resolution!"
Homura gasped as the headaches ceased, yet those words would not fade from his mind. Rather, those words alone filled the young novelist with a certain power, a resolution.
"He who can draw the Seiken(Holy Sword) is worthy..." Homura muttered to himself absentmindedly as he fixed his sights on the flaming sword. Reaching out his right hand while his left gripped the Ride Book, Homura took a step forward towards the sword.
"Homura-kun?" Happy spoke up, confused as to what her friend was doing until she saw exactly what he was trying to do. "Don't! You'll get burnt!"
True to Happy's words, Homura felt like his skin was about to melt from the heat of the flames alone. And yet, despite the pain, Homura preserved, motivated by the five words in his head.
"Guh...guh...graaAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" With a mighty roar, Homura pushed forward and grabbed the flaming sword. With another roar, Homura pulled and removed the sword from the ground, raising it up for all to see as the surrounded flames came to life and surged around Homura's form before they gathered around the sword in his hands. Once all the flames had been gathered, the sword shrunk into a ball of flame, circling around Homura's form before slamming right into his gut where Homura felt something wrap around him before the flames dispersed, revealing...
SEIKEN SWORDRIVER
Hanging around Homura's waist was looked to be a small scabbard-like belt buckle. The buckle had three slot sections where more of those unknown words were inscribed into the item. And to Homura's right, slotted in the buckle was the handle of a sword with a flame-like guard. In the center of the guard was a symbol depicting two swords crossing into an X with the right upper-side designed to look like it was on fire.
"Impossible! He drew the Seiken!?" The Golem Megido exclaimed in disbelief, refusing to believe what he was seeing.
"Homura-kun, what is that?" Happy found herself asking as she stared at her friend in wonder. The buckle...it looked like...but could it be?
"This is..." Homura began as he looked down at the belt strapped onto him. "This is...the power granted to me. The power to help me protect everyone. My sword!"
"Homura-kun, are you...!?" Happy spoke up, realizing just what the belt was. In this world, there were two kinds of heroes protecting the world. The female warriors known as Pretty Cures, and also...
"Miyuki...no, Happy! Stand up!" Homura said, turning to the Cure and offering a hand. "The ending of this story...we will be the ones to decide it!"
"...Mm!" With a smile and a nod, Happy grabbed Homura's hand and he helped her to her feet.
"No way~kuru!" Candy exclaimed, her eyes shining brightly. Not only had she successfully found a Pretty Cure, but also...!
"Megido!" Homura shouted over to the Golem, he and Happy staring him down. "For the sake of books everywhere, we will defeat you!"
"The ending of this story..." Happy began.
"Is ours to decide!" Homura finished before he held up his Ride Book and opened it up.
BRAVE DRAGON
Closing it, Homura then placed the book into the first slot before grabbing the handle and pulled it out. This caused the book to open up, revealing a new page that depicted an illustration of a masked figure with a red, flaming right arm.
REKKA BATTOU!
The sword in Homura's hand enlarged and lengthened until it was as long as Homura's own arm. Pulling it out also seemed to ignite it as flames once again bathed the blade of the sword. But unlike before, Homura had no problems handling them as he held it out in front of him and shouted:
"Henshin!"
BRAVE DRAGON~!
Raising the sword up, Homura slashed forward two times, forming an X-cross in front of him which shot forward before turning around and headed straight for him, hitting him right in the face as his body was soon enveloped in flames. Happy and Candy both were about to scream at this sight until the flames soon dispersed, revealing a new figure in Homura's place.
REKKA: VOLUME 1!
Standing in Homura's place was a person garbed in a bodysuit that was white down the middle and black on the left and right sides with a red line separating the two colors of the suit. Armored boots and protective plates covered the legs while a black gaunt and shoulder pad is what protected the left arm. The right side of the arm, however, was completely different as the entirety of it was flaming red straight down to the fingertips. Over the right leg hung what looked to be half of a waist cloak as over the shoulder was a guard in the shape of a dragon's head.
Covering the head was a black helmet with its face divided by three colors due to the cross-like visor. To match each side's respective colors, the left of the helmet was black while the right side was red. The upper middle part was white like the middle of the suit as a sword-like horn was situated right in the middle of the helmet.
~WHEN THE BRAVE DRAGON AND REKKA, THE SWORD OF FLAMES UNITE, A CRIMSON BLADE SHALL PIERCE THROUGH ALL THAT IS EVIL!~
"WHOA~!" Both Happy and Candy exclaim in both surprise and awe as they looked upon Homura's new form.
"This power..." Homura muttered to himself, looking down at his new form and the sword in his hand. "This sword..."
KAEN KEN (Sword of Flames), REKKA!
"Rekka...The Holy Sword of Flames..."
"Homura-kun!" Happy's voice broke Homura out of his thoughts as he turned and saw stars in his friend's eyes. "You're...You're...You're a Kamen Rider!"
"Eh?" Homura blinked under his helmet before re-checking himself.
Mask? Check.
Belt that allows one to transform? Check.
"...AH! You're right!"
"You're a Kamen Rider~kuru!" Candy exclaimed as she started dancing around both the Rider and Cure. "Candy not only found a Pretty Cure, but also a Kamen Rider~kuru! This...This is...!"
"Ultra Happy!" Happy exclaimed.
"Yeah, that!"
"N-Now, now you two, calm down," Homura said, trying to get the two to calm down.
"Grrr, to think the Sword of Logos had a knight stationed all the way out here. But no matter! We will achieve victory regardless of your actions!" The Megido declared, recovering from this sudden turn of events.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that," Homura said as he and Happy stood side by side while Candy quickly retreated to safety. "Megido! I swear upon the Sword of Flames, Rekka, that we shall put an end to your selfish ambitions! Let's go, Happy!"
"Right behind you!" Happy said before both the new Cure and Rider charged at the Golem Megido.
And so, with the birth of a new Rider and Cure, both wielding the power of stories, a new chapter begins now.
And done! ...sigh. Three. This is the third time I've had to come back to Smile PreCure. Pairing Ghost up with Smile seemed like a good idea until Toei decides to drop the existence than is Saber on me, a Rider who uses the powers of storybooks! There is literally no better pairing for Smile than this! It's Fourze and Star Twinkle all over again! Smile PreCure was the show that introduced me to the series so why is it giving me this much trouble!?
Sigh, regardless of my feelings, this is the pairing I'm going to be using now. Like I said, there is literally no better Rider to pair up with Smile considering both their themes match up perfectly. And of course, with a new pairing comes a new character, Hagane Homura. Now before anyone asks, his hair was the only thing I borrowed from the Vrains character. I already decided his name was going to be Homura before I got to his character design. I honestly wanted to write more so I could showcase Homura's personality better, but I would basically be writing an entire chapter instead of a small preview so this is all you'll get from him.
Despite my feelings, this idea does get me excited. I'm smirking just at the thought of Miyuki reacting to Saber's version of Tinker Bell. I'll leave you all with that thought as I take my leave. This has been Ashbel Longhart here, signing out.
