Ayumu shook the water off of her umbrella before depositing it into her class's umbrella bin. Two days off had gone by quickly, the weekends always felt too short, but random days off seemed to go by even faster. Half of the previous day had been spent training with Bakugo, she had wanted to spend the two days off doing nothing, but if training on days off is what it took to be a pro she'd have to do it. She thought about the walk to school and how a few different people had stopped her and Shinso, mostly to try to talk with Shinso and congratulate him for how far he had made it in the sports festival. Shinso had shrugged them off as quickly as possible before tugging her along behind him. She laughed to herself, Shinso never was a people person.

Upon arriving in her classroom, Ayumu realized her classmates had a very different perspective on the whole ordeal.Mina called her name as soon as she saw her and pulled her into the conversation.

"It's so weird that people recognize us from TV! Everyone wanted to talk to me on my way here." Mina gushed.

Kirishima butted in, "Yeah, me too!"

"People on the street were staring at me! It was kind of embarrassing." Hagakure giggled.

"Yeah, but isn't that pretty normal for you?" Ojiro questioned.

Sero was less enthusiastic, "You won't believe what a bunch of elementary school brats yelled at me."

"Nice try?" Tsyu tried, causing Sero to groan and the little group to laugh.

Ayumu put a reassuring hand on Sero's shoulder, "Hey, you were up against Toderoki, I'm not sure any of us could have fared any better."

The door to class-1A began to open and everyone quickly took their seats.

"Morning," Mr. Aizawa's tired voice cut through the newly formed silence.

"Good morning, Mr. Aizawa." The class chorused.

Mr. Aizawa took his place at the front of the class and Tsyu spoke excitedly, "Mr. Aizawa, you don't have bandages anymore, that's good news."

He scratched his cheek, "The old lady went a little overboard with her treatment. Anyways," he started, obviously wanting to take the attention off of himself, "we have a big class today on Hero Informatics."

Ayumu panicked internally, Hero Informatics was a wide topic and honestly, she had not been studying as hard as she should have been that past few weeks. Between just keeping up with the never ending amount of homework and training with Bakugo before the sports festival, actually studying had taken a backseat. She prayed that whatever Mr. Aizawa had planned was easy.

After letting them sit and panic for a moment, Mr. Aizawa spoke again, "You need codenames. Time to pick your hero identities."

The class broke out into excited shouts, but were silenced once again with a single look from their teacher.

"This is related to the Pro hero draft picks that I mentioned the last time we were in class together. Normally students don't have to worry about the draft yet, not until their second or third year actually, but your class is different. In fact, by extending offers to first years like you, pros are essentially investing in your potential. Any offers can be rescinded if interest in you dies down before graduation though."

"So what you're saying is, we'll still have to prove ourselves after we've gotten recruited." Hagakure clarified.

Mr. Aizawa nodded, "That is correct. Now here are the totals for those of you who got offers."

With a click of a button, a bar graph began to appear with a number of different names appearing on the board along with the total number of offers those students had received from agencies. Ayumu was only half surprised to see her name at the very bottom with a 1 next to it. Whispers broke out amongst the group, some complaining about their lack of offers, others commenting on the totals.

"If I scare the pros they're just weak!" Bakugo snapped at the people around him.

Mr. Aizawa let the whispers die down before he continued, "Despite these results, you will all be interning with pros.Got it? Even those of you who didn't get any offers."

"Oh." Midorya chimed in. "So, we're all interning? "

"Yes. You already got to experience combat with real villains during the attack on the USJ facility. But it will still be helpful to see pros at work. Up close and personal. In the field. Firsthand." Mr. Aizawa emphasized each phrase.

"And for that, we'll need hero names!" Sato exclaimed.

Uraraka cheered, "Things are suddenly getting a lot more fun!"

"These hero names will likely be temporary, but take them seriously or-"

"You'll have hell to pay later!" Mr. Aizawa was cut off by Midnight throwing open the door to the classroom. "What you pick today could be your codename for life. You better be careful or you'll be stuck with something utterly indecent."

"She's one to talk about indecent." Ayumu muttered under her breath earning a kick to the Shin from Mina.

"Yeah, she's got a good point." Mr. Aizawa conceded, "Midnight is going to have final approval over your names. It's not my forte." He leaned down and picked up his sleeping bag. "The name you give yourself is important. It helps reinforce your image and shows what kind of hero you want to be in the future. A codename tells people exactly what you represent. Take All Might for example."

Ayumu took the papers and markers from the person in front of her before taking one and passing them behind her. She had thought long and hard about what her name should be, but she never came up with a good answer. Her mom had wanted her to take on her father's old hero name. Sure Shot, but something about inheriting his name felt… morbid. Her mother had even offered her own hero name, Tunnel Vision, but Ayumu had never liked that name and it never seemed fitting for her either. She tapped the capped marker on the paper. Midnight had decided to give them a few minutes to think it over to try and come up with something interesting.

After a few minutes, Midnight called time, "Alright, now who among you is ready to share?"
