"I told you to be ready when I got here. If we miss the train because of you-"
Ayumu stuffed more of her things back into her bag, "If we miss the train because I took an extra two minutes to put things in my bag, I will do your homework everyday for a month."
Bakugo scoffed, "If you did my homework, I'd fail."
Ayumu paused in her packing and looked up at him, "That's hurtful."
Bakugo pushed himself off of the doorway as she zipped up her bag and tossed it over her shoulder. She grabbed her costume case and walked passed Bakugo toward the front of the agency. Protean was sitting at the desk in front and looked up at the sound of their footsteps. He stood up and smiled at the pair.
"Bakugo, a word before you go."
Ayumu's smile dropped. "Protean, we're kind of in a hurry…"
"It'll only take a minute." He assured and motioned for Bakugo to follow him into a separate room, shutting the door behind them.
Ayumu walked over to where they had gone in and pressed her ear to the door. She closed her eyes and tried to listen hard, but she couldn't hear anything at all. Annoyed, she walked back to the front room and sat on the arm of the couch that was in there. After a few minutes, the door reopened and Bakugo came out of the room with Protean following him.
"Be safe on your way home. I'll see you soon, I'm sure." Protean waved as the pair headed off toward the train station.
Once they had gotten to the end of the block, Ayumu broke the silence. "So what did he say to you?"
Bakugo side-eyed her. "Don't worry about it."
Ayumu shoved him lightly with her shoulder, "Come on, tell me. It can't be that big of a secret."
"I said, don't worry about it. It's not important." Bakugo barked.
Ayumu dropped the subject, but planned to try again later. Whether she would try Bakugo again or ask Protean himself, she hadn't decided yet. They got to the train station with time to spare. The train pulled in and they quickly found seats together.
Ayumu leaned back in her seat and watched him for a moment, "So what do you like to do for fun?"
Bakugo seemed to think about it for a minute, "I like to go hiking."
"Yeah? Where?"
He shrugged and looked out the window, "Different places. My dad takes me a lot."
"That's really cool. My dad really liked stuff like that too. My mom isn't super outdoorsy though, so I haven't done anything like that in a long time."
Bakugo paused for a second as if thinking it over for a second, "Well, maybe we can go hiking together sometime. But you better not slow me down." He added the last part quickly.
Ayumu blinked at him, "Yeah, that would be fun."
"We can go the weekend after midterms." He decided meeting her gaze.
Ayumu tried to hide her smile, "I'd like that."
Bakugo scoffed, "Wipe that look off your face. What do you do for fun?"
"Hang out with Hitoshi, mostly. We like going to the park." Ayumu admitted.
Bakugo looked at her, "Aren't you a little old to be going to the park?"
"The park has no age limit." She stated matter-of-factly.
Bakugo rolled his eyes, "What else do you do?"
Ayumu thought about it for a while, "I play guitar. I haven't in a while though."
This caught his attention, "Really?"
She nodded, "Yeah, I took lessons when I was a kid, but I just haven't really had time since we started high school. Do you play anything?"
"Drums." He admitted.
Ayumu smiled, "I can see that for you."
"I talked to Shitty hair. He's going to come train with us." Bakugo said decisively, "Since your little secret is out to the class, I figured it doesn't matter who comes with us."
Ayumu nodded, "Yeah, I love Kirishima. I think working with him will be fun. Especially with midterms coming up, we can all help each other out."
Bakugo looked out the window and stood up, grabbing his thing, "I don't need any help. If anything I'm doing you extras a favor by letting you train with me."
"I'm sure you are. I actually learned a few things during my internship that I think will really help with our training. I'm excited to show you tomorrow," Ayumu stood up after him and followed him to the door as the train slowed down. "Do you want to walk home with me? Your house is on the way, right?" she asked, looking up at him.
Bakugo spared her a glance, "Yeah, sure. I'll walk you to your house and then I'll go home."
"You don't have to, we're going to pass your house."
He exhaled loudly, obviously getting irritated, "I know that." He gritted his teeth, "Last time I let you go off by yourself you ended up in the Recovery Girl's office."
Ayumu rolled her eyes, "That was one time. I don't think anyone's going to attack me walking home."
"Do you want me to walk you home or not?" He snapped.
Before she could answer, the doors opened and they both stepped out. As soon as they did, Ayumu broke out into a smile and rushed forward leaving Bakugo standing behind her on the platform. "Hitoshi!" She threw her arms around Shinso, smacking him in the back with her costume case.
He wrapped his arms around her waist and held her tightly. His gaze fell on Bakugo for a moment before pulling himself away from Ayumu. She had a huge smile on her face.
"Miss me?" She teased, lacing her arm through his.
Shinso shook his head, "Not even a little bit. Are you ready to go home?"
"Yeah," She turned to Bakugo, "Do you still want to walk with me? We can stop by your house on the way."
Bakugo walked past her, "No. I think he can manage to get you home."
Ayumu's shoulder's dropped and she took a step after him, "Are you sure?"
"Just text me when you get home. I'll see you in class tomorrow."
Shinso put his hand on her shoulder. He watched as Bakugo walked away in the direction they would be headed in a moment, "What's his problem?"
"I have no idea." Ayumu put her arm through Shinso's once more and started heading toward home, "Whatever, I have so much stuff to show you! You wouldn't believe how much I learned working with Protean!"
