"How the hell are you still not getting it?" Bakugo snapped before smacking Kirishima with the papers in his hand.

Kirishima covered the spot Bakugo had hit and laughed, "Hey, I'm trying."

Ayumu snatched the study guide out of Bakugo's hand and unrolled it, "Knock it off, Bakugo. You're rushing him. He just needs more time."

Bakugo glared at her, gritting his teeth, "We don't have time. The test is tomorrow!"

"We can still meet to study for the second day of testing tomorrow after school. We don't need to cram this hard." Ayumu handed the unrolled study guide to Kirishima. The sides of the paper tried to roll in on itself again, but didn't quite make it.

Kirishima stuffed the paper into his backpack, crumbling it as he did. He slipped out of the booth and stood up, grabbing his backpack off of the seat beside him.

"It's getting late, we should probably get going."

Ayumu nodded and grabbed her backpack, slipping out of the booth with Krishima. Bakugo scowled up and then grabbed his textbooks and threw his bag over his shoulder. Kirishima and Ayumu waved to the waitress behind the counter as they followed Bakugo out the door.

"Same time tomorrow?" Kirishima asked as the door shut tightly behind the trio.

Ayumu Shrugged and gave a sheepish grin, "I'll have to rain check, I'm supposed to study with Hitoshi tomorrow. General Studies don't start their finals until the day after us since they don't do the practical."

Bakugo shot her a dirty look, "You just said we could study tomorrow."

"I know and we can, just maybe not together." Ayumu shrugged and started walking toward home, "I'll see you at school tomorrow, Kirishima."

Kirishima waved and headed off in the direction of his house while Bakugo fell into step beside Ayumu. They walked in silence for a while, the sound of their footsteps hitting the pavement echoed. Finally, it was Ayumu who broke the silence.

"So, are you excited for camp?" She asked just to be saying something.

He shrugged, "I guess. We'll see who ends up going."

Ayumu watched him carefully, "You're not worried you're going to fail the exam are you?" She was only trying to tease him, but hitting a nerve was so easy with him.

"No!" He glared at her, "I'm not the one who needed help studying basic concepts."

Ayumu shrugged, "I was only kidding."

Bakugo shoved his hands into his pockets, but didn't respond. They turned down Ayumu's street. The street lamps turned on as they reached the bottom steps of Ayumu's house. She stopped and turned to face Bakugo.

"Thank you for walking me home, I'll see you tomorrow."

Bakugo rolled his eyes, "You better not fail tomorrow after I took all that time to help you study."

A smile tugged at the corners of Ayumu's lips, "I'll do my best. I wouldn't want to miss out on camp after all."

Ayumu closed her notebook and groaned aloud. Shinso looked up from his own study guide. They had been sitting at Ayumu's kitchen table for less than thirty minutes trying to get some studying in. A plate of cookies sat between them, left by Ayumu's mother in case they wanted a snack while studying. After a moment passed with no explanation of her outburst, he finally asked.

"What's wrong?" He placed the study guide face down on the table.

Ayumu looked up, defeat evident on her face. "I'm going to fail."

Shinso rolled his eyes, "No you're not."

"I am. The test today was so much harder than I thought it would be!" Ayumu flipped open her notebook again, "And this is just the written part! I can't imagine what the practical will be like!"

Shinso turned his study guide back to the front and shook his head, "I thought you spent all day studying with what's his name."

Ayumu gave him a pointed look before picking up her notebook to read from, "You know his name. And I was."

"Obviously." He pretended to read over the study guide again before glancing up at her. "I'm not going to I-Island with you."

Ayumu dropped her book back down on the table, surprised by the sudden change in subject, "What? Why not?"

"You know why."

A rare, uncomfortable silence fell between them. Ayumu grabbed a, now cold, cookie off of the plate and shoved it into her mouth. Ayumu did know. Shinso knew her classmates were going. She had already made plans to share a hotel room with Mina and Hagakure. He was uncomfortable around them and not interested in making friends with any of them. He also figured with the hero course students gone for a little while he could use the time to train and try to get better so he could transfer into the class sooner rather than later.

Ayumu tapped her pencil on the table, thinking. "Well, if you're not going, I won't go either."

Shinso rolled his eyes, "Don't be stupid. You have to go."

"It won't be the same if you don't come though. It'll be fun! It's like a giant amusement park!"

Shinso didn't answer, he just went back to reading over his notes, occasionally making small scribbles on his study guide. Ayumu sighed and went back to her own notes. Once he had made up his mind, there really was no changing it. Besides, she understood where he was coming from. He had to work especially hard if he wanted to be considered for transfer, plus he wasn't terribly fond of her classmates. She would just have to make the best of it without him.

"Is it just me or was the written test way harder than you thought it would be?" Ayumu asked Mina after they had finished their third, and final, day of testing.

Mina and Kaminari nodded, looking as defeated as Ayumu felt. Kaminari, Mina, Kirishima, Bakugo, and Ayumu were sitting on the grass at the edge of trees that surrounded the school. After a long three days, the group had decided- although Bakugo had taken some convincing- to take the afternoon to relax before the practical began the next day.

The first years had gotten the information from the upperclassmen, thanks to Kendo from class 1-B, on what the practical would be: Robots. This would be the third time the class faced them so they weren't worried. More training wasn't necessary for fighting robots. So today they would relax.

Bakugo scoffed at Ayumu's comment, "Maybe if you had studied more, you would have done better."

"Maybe if you were a better teacher, you could have helped me more." She punctuated her comment by throwing a few blades of grass in Bakugo's direction.

Bakugo opened his mouth to snap back at her, but was cut off by Kirishima addressing the group.

"Hey, guys.." He was staring off in the direction of the school, brows furrowed, "what if Kendo was wrong and we're not fighting robots tomorrow?"

There was a momentary pause. No one had stopped to think if Kendo was wrong… or lying. Kaminari broke the silence by laughing.

"No way. She checked with the second and the third years! No way she got it wrong."

Bakugo scoffed and pushed himself up, "I already told you idiots, it shouldn't matter if you fight robots or humans. Just get control of your quirks."

Ayumu rolled her eyes, "Sorry not everyone is as naturally gifted as you are."

"Then work harder." He turned away and started back toward the school, "If you still want me to walk you home, you better hurry up."

Mina shot Ayumu a meaningful look, but didn't say anything. Ayumu sighed aloud and pushed herself up from the ground, trying not to look at Mina. Ayumu hadn't told Mina how Bakugo had been walking her home from school every day for the past few weeks. She wasn't in the mood to be teased about it either. Ayumu fell into step beside Bakugo before sparing a glance back to her friends. Mina gave her a knowing smile and Ayumu turned around quickly, hoping the Mina didn't see the way her cheeks lit up.
