Chapter 1: Present day: Spring 2021

"IT'S HERE!" a middle aged man carrying firewood on his back shouted in terror alerting the rest of the people in the small village, as he pointed to the nearby forest where the said beast was emerging. It was a giant green hairy spider with long white fangs, eight purple eyes, and it was as big as a large hill,... And was hungry for human flesh….

"Miss slayer, please save us!" a woman holding a small crying child in her arms pleaded as the crowd ran away from the approaching monster.

Among all the chaos, a young woman emerged from the crowd, calmly walking towards the beast. The woman herself wore a skintight black jumpsuit, with dark green armor plates on her shoulders, knees, elbows, and one large one on her chest, with a matching sash around her waist that held her sheathed samurai sword on her left side. She also wore knee high black laced up black boots on her legs, palm covering fingerless gloves covering her hands, and a gray poison protection mask covering her mouth and nose…. And on her back was a tall boomerang bone… the legendary Hiraikotsu…

"Everyone please remain calm and stay back!" The Demon Slayer ordered, her big fern green eyes focused on the giant spider as it got closer and closer to her as she stood in front of the crowd of villagers protectively and with one swift movement she swung her Hiraikotsu at the beast slicing its legs and head off in a matter of seconds. As The Demon Slayer caught her weapon when it flew back to her she turned half way towards the crowd so in case the beast was still alive, she would be ready. "Have no fear, the monster is dead now" she announced as she flicked her long chestnut brown side braid onto her right shoulder as her curtain bangs flowed in the wind.

"Oh how can we ever repay you miss slayer?" the village headman asked, gratitude weighing heavily in his voice.

The young woman smiled underneath her mask "the payment you previously promised me and some of the monsters remains will be enough, and please call me Erin; the great granddaughter of the very first Demon Slayer; Cathrine Rina"

After Erin had collected her payment and some of the giant spider's remains she changed into her fern green tank top, navy shorts and black converse. And placed her suit, mask, sword, and armor in the gray drawstring bag she brought with her and finally let her long wavy hair (which went down just above her bottom) loose. When she reached the edge of the village she turned to face the villagers who had come to bid her a final farewell and thank you.

"Goodbye, call on me again if you need any more assistance!" Erin called over her shoulder as she began her journey back to the nearby mountains with her Hiraikotsu on her back.

Once deep enough in the mountains, Erin came across a hidden valley where a large brick walled area stood; "The Village of The White Rose"… Erin smiled as she then knocked loudly on the mighty pair of iron gates, which opened a few moments later. On the other side of the gates was an old man with a long gray mustache, a shriveled up eye, a hook for a left hand and a brown jacket that had certainly seen better days.

"Welcome back, miss Erin" the man said in a scratchy voice.

The young Demon Slayer smiled kindly at him. "It's good to be home Quartermaster" she stated walking through the large entrance into an even larger village full of people with heritage from all over the world, a few crop fields, plenty of farm animals, and homes.

"Hey Erin, welcome home, what was your prey this time?" a woman not much older than Erin asked approaching the girl. The older woman had violet eyes, dark tan brown skin, scarlet colored hair, wore a short sleeve green shirt, black shorts, and brown boots.

"Hey Gwen, it was a giant tarantula, I brought back some parts of the legs. I was thinking we could make some armor and maybe even a few weapons out of them" Erin said, taking the monster remains she had collected from her last mission out of her small pack and showing them to Gwen, who smiled approvingly at them.

"Oh great, I'll get these to mister Campbell, he'll be able to make some great stuff out of these" said the red head as Erin handed her the monster remains. "I'll see you later 'E', in the meantime you should rest up while you can before you set out for your next mission tomorrow" Gwen stated waving goodbye to Erin as she made her way to another part of the village, that was when a small, yellow-cream colored cat monster with red eyes, black paws, a black star mark on its forehead, two fluffy tails with two black streaks on the end of each one came sprinting over to Erin from another part of the village, jumping into her arms excitedly.

"Oh, hello Kirara! Were you a good kitty while I was away?" Erin cooed as she embraced the little cat who purred and nuzzled her cheek and neck.

"Hey Erin!" a young girl's voice shouted. The young slayer woman and her cat friend then looked up to see their other three teammates approaching them. They were three kids, each around ten years old, one girl and two boys. The girl had pink eyes, teal hair in two messy pigtails, had dirt on her cheeks along with a bandage on her left one, she wore red overalls over a yellow shirt and teal colored shoes, and had fair skin. The first boy had frizzy brown hair, a big nose, blue eyes, pale skin, he wore a yellow shirt, black jeans, and white sneakers. The other boy had dark tan skin with sharp teal green eyes, a large mass of curly black hair, wore a light blue hoodie with his hands in the middle pocket, blue jeans, and red sneakers and finally had a bored look on his face.

Erin smiled at the three as they approached her and Kirara. "Hey Nikki," she said to the girl as she gave her a high five. "Neil, Max, you guys didn't miss me too much I hope" she teased while glancing at the two boys.

"Fuck no, didn't realize you were gone" the black haired boy in the blue hoodie stated rolling his eyes.

"Yeah right, Max here was a wreck when he found out you took on another mission without us-" the other boy stated pointing his thumb to the black haired boy, who frowned.

"Shut up, Neil!" Max growled at the frizzy haired boy, making Erin smile softly as she walked over to Max and ruffled his black curls. "Sorry about that guys, but it was just a giant tarantula in a village outside of the mountains, nothing I couldn't handle with just my Hiraikotsu" she stated as Max swatted her hands away from his head.

"Yeah well whatever, we're about to go on a big mission anyway so don't worry about it!" Max grumbled, but Erin's smile vanished and then was replaced with a serious expression.

"That's right, that reminds me, do you three have your weapons and armor and other such things ready for this mission, food, amo, water?" she questioned as Kirara jumped out of her arms and onto her left shoulder.

"Yep!" Neil stated confidently.

"Yeah, I'm ready for action!" Nikki exclaimed, pumping her fists.

"Yeah, and no worries I'll sneak out when it's time to leave tomorrow so David won't stop me" Max promised with a mischievous grin, making his four teammates, three human one monster feline, turn to him.

"Max…." Erin warned.

"I'm sorry, but you know David, he won't let me go on missions far from the village without him, and Ironically I can fight better than he ever could, you'd think he'd trust me more" Max stated crossing his arms.

"Well David's your dad- well adopted dad, it makes sense that he would want to protect you, despite the fact that you can obviously protect yourself" Neil said, but Max only rolled his eyes again.

"Don't forget he's also the village doctor, and we slayers tend to gain a lot of injuries, unless you're Erin of course" Nikki stated, making Erin smile at her.

"Yeah, but I know he won't let me take on this mission without him, you know how overprotective he is," Max said.

"What if I talk to David?" Erin then offered as she scratched Kirara behind her ears, making the little cat purr and lean into her touch as she continued to sit on her shoulder.

"What fuck'in difference would it make?" Max asked with a shrug.

"Well I've known David since we were kids, I'm sure he'll listen to me, not to mention I'm the team leader that gives me a sense of some authority when it comes to missions" the brunette replied.

"Well, I think it's worth a shot, I think David might be at Isabella and Leslie's place" said Nikki.

"Oh no, is Don sick again?" Neil questioned.

Erin frowned at the boy's assumption. "Neil don't assume, even if that is the case, Don has very fragile health so let's not talk about it so lightly" she stated firmly.

"Okay, I'm sorry let's just go" Neil said, holding up his hands in offense as he and the rest of the team made their way through the village to a house larger than most of the homes in the demon slayer village; The Orphanage. It was owned by a couple in their early thirties named Isabella and Leslie. Erin was very fond of the couple, not only because they took in any child that needed a home and loved them as their own flesh and blood, but also because of how kind they were to everyone they came across.

Once they arrived at the orphanage, Erin knocked on the door and after a few short moments a young woman with long black hair in a bun, with deep kind purple eyes and pale skin opened the door.

"Oh Erin it's you, what a pleasant surprise, how was your mission?" the woman asked in a gentle voice.

"It was successful thank you Miss Isabella, we were actually wondering if David was here? Me and my team here have to talk to him" Erin stated, gesturing to Max, Nikki, Neil, and Kirara.

"Oh yes of course, David is just finishing up in the infirmary with Don," Isabella replied, opening the door all the way revealing her maid-like outfit that consisted of a black dress and a white apron. As Isabella led the team of Demon Slayers towards the infirmary they passed the dining hall where at least nineteen kids ages eleven and younger were cleaning up after lunch, while a young man about Isabella's age was holding a one year old baby with orange hair and blue eyes. The man wore a gray shirt and sweatpants, he had dark blue eyes, had faded pink hair and faded freckles on his cheeks.

"Isabella dear, who was it?" the man asked, turning to his wife.

"It was Erin and her team Leslie" Isabella replied, stopping in front of the dinning hall with the Demon Slayers.

"Hi kids, good to see you" Leslie said to the team with a warm smile as the kids in the dining hall other than the baby in Leslie's arms, ran to the Demon Slayers with shouts of excitement and laughter.

"Ah shit….." Max trailed off quietly as he, Nikki, and Neil were then tackled by the orphans.

"Alright, alright guys, we're happy to see you too" Neil stated breathlessly under the pile of kids.

Erin, Kirara, and Isabella only smiled at the scene. That was when a four-year-old little boy with blue eyes, brown skin and dark brown hair came up to Erin pulling on her hand.

"ERIN! ERIN! How was your mission, did you save everyone?!" the boy questioned.

The young Demon Slayer smile widened as she picked up the little one and held him in her arms. "It was just a simple mission Phil, but I still saved lives and that's what's important" she told him as Kirara jumped from her shoulder into the boy's arms, purring loudly.

"Hi Kirara!" Phil exclaimed as he gave the little kitty a hug.

"Alright, alright children please let Erin and her team go they have to talk to Doctor David, so let them up now" Isabella said in a gentle yet firm tone as she patted some of the children on the head.

The children shouted choruses of "Aww'' as they got off of Max, Nikki, and Neil.

"Oh thank God" Neil sighed in relief.

"Alright now everyone please go and help your father finish cleaning up, while I take Erin and her team to the infirmary" Isabella stated patiently as she then continued to lead the team of slayers up the stairs to the second floor to the first door on the right to see a small six-year-old girl wearing the same gray uniform for the orphanage as the other children. She had shoulder length blonde hair in two side pigtails, pale skin, crystal light blue eyes and held a white plush bunny in her arms while standing in front of the first door of the hallway; the infirmary.

"Oh Conny, what are you doing up here you should be downstairs cleaning up with your siblings" Isabella said gently as the little girl turned to her with a worried expression on her face, but it quickly faded when she saw the slayer team.

"Max!" she exclaimed as she rushed over and hugged the ten-year-old along with her bunny.

Max then let a genuine smile across his face as he hugged Conny back. "Hey Conny, you too Little Bunny"

"Aww!" Nikki cooed.

Max blushed and looked away. "Shut Up, Nikki"

"Were you worried about Don?" Erin asked as Conny's face turned sad again as she let go of Max and held Little Bunny close.

"Yes, I know he's sick a lot but I want to be there for him as much as I can" Conny said, holding Little Bunny closer.

Isabella smiled gently at the little girl as she then kneeled down to hug her. "I know you're worried about him but all we can do is let him rest and give him encouraging smiles, and I know you can do that Conny so lets show Don that we can give him the best encouragement possible" she said as she then released Conny from the hugged and looked at the the little girl who smiled back at her.

"You're right mom, I'll show Don that we all really love him and that we know he'll get better soon!"

"That's my girl, now how about we pay him and David a visit?" Isabella said as she then knocked on the infirmary door.

"Come in!" said a cheerful man's voice from inside.

Isabella then opened the door to show a ten year old boy sitting up in one of the infirmary beds with short brown hair, skin, and eyes. While a twenty-four-year old man with pointed red hair, green eyes, wearing a white doctor's coat and yellow bandana around his neck, was packing up a black doctor's bag. "Oh hey everyone," the doctor said happily.

"Hello David, how is Don?" Isabella asked.

David smiled. "Not to worry it's not as bad as his last fever, just keep giving Don here the prescribed medications and make sure he drinks lots and lots of that water!" David said cheerfully as he patted Don on the head, who smiled .

"Yeah mom, I'll be fine, I'm stronger than I look!" Don exclaimed, flexing his muscles, making Conny laugh as she ran over to sit on Don's bed.

"Yeah, Don will get better really fast, and teach me and little bunny how to fly my new butterfly kite," the little girl said.

Don smiled nervously. "I promise Conny" he said with a chuckle.

"Alright everyone let's let Don rest" Isabella requested as she picked up Conny and balanced her on her hip, while leading David and the demon slayer team out of the infirmary as Don waved goodbye and lied back down in bed.

Erin smiled at Isabella as the woman herself closed the door of the infirmary behind her. "Isabella, I know I've said this before, but I can't get enough of what you and Leslie do for the kids here. It's really not a surprise that they all call you 'mom' and 'dad' you do well with them" the lead demon slayer said, making Isabella smile as she hugged Erin with her free arm while the other still held onto Conny.

"Well I never get tired of hearing it," the mother said to her with a smile.

As Erin, her team, and David waved goodbye to everyone at the orphanage Isabella called out to Erin, making the burnette turn to her as she held Kirara in her arms.

"Say 'hi' to your mother for us!" she called out.

Erin's smile twitched, but fortunately no one seemed to notice… except for David, who pressed his lips together into a white line with a worried expression making its way onto the rest of his face.

"By the way how is your mom these days Erin?" Neil questioned as the team walked away from the orphanage, making Erin's grip on her Hiraikotsu tighten ever so slightly, but her face went unchanged on its relaxed expression. Kirara noticed her partner's discomfort and meowed at her while nuzzling her face from her shoulder and licked her cheek lovingly. Erin smiled thankfully and picked up the fire feline from her shoulder and gave her a kiss on the black star mark on her forehead, while also giving her a hug.

"She's doing the best she can, but at this point in time, me and my grandparents don't think she'll ever be able to walk or fight again…" Erin tailed off trying to hide her worry as she so often did whenever her mother's wellbeing was brought up.

David then put his hand on Erin's shoulder, "hey, your mom was a great slayer, and she's still alive and the leader of this village despite the fact of being in a wheelchair, I'd say she's doing pretty well" the doctor stated with a reassuring smile.

"Thanks David, that reminds me, will you come to my place to check up on her?" Erin asked, making David nod.

"Of course, I can," the doctor proclaimed as the group made their way towards the end of the walled village.

"*Ahem*" Max coughed.

Erin turned to the boy as he was nodding his head towards David and looking from him to her.

"Oh right" she whispered back to him as she turned her attention to a whistling David. "Um, David, I have something to discuss with you," she said to the doctor.

"Yeah," the red head replied.

"Well, me and the team here have been talking and we think it'd be best if you sat this mission out" Erin said carefully, making David stop in his tracks.

"Maaaax" the doctor stated turning to his son.

"Dammit, what gave it away this time?!" the ten-year-old asked with an annoyed groan.

"Max, I've raised you since you were three years old, I know you and your ways better than anyone. Now, why is it that you don't want me to go with you on this mission?" the doctor asked.

"Look it's nothing personal, I just don't need a babysitter when I slay demons" Max replied looking away with a frown while crossing his arms.

"Yeah David come on, Max is the greatest slayer in the village next to Erin, he can take care of himself" Nikki stated determinedly.

"And let's not forget that Max here is Erin's second in command when she needs him," Neil added.

Daivd's face then fell into a nervous frown. "I don't know guys, I mean the village that needs you for this mission is three days away, I'm just not sure how I feel about that. Not to mention I'd miss Max too much" David cooed as he then ruffled Max's dark curls, making the boy blush and swat his hands away.

"Shut up, I'll be fine I've got a team of ass kickers on my side so I won't be completely alone!" Max exclaimed.

David then sighed in defeat and kneeled down to his son's height, giving him a hug. "Just promise me you'll be careful alright?" the doctor requested, holding Max close.

The dark haired boy rolled his eyes and hugged David back. "Whatever, idiot"

Erin smiled at the scene. "Okay, now that that's settled you three should make your final preparations for the mission, we leave tomorrow morning at dawn" she stated to her three young teammates.

"You got it boss!" Nikki exclaimed, giving her team leader a salute as she, Max, and Neil took off in three different directions.

"Well, shall we go check on your mother?" David questioned with his normal cheerful smile, making Erin nod at him.

(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((())))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Erin's house was the largest one in the village (next to the orphanage of course) with an old Japanese mansion look to it.

"Four generations… my great grandmother, my grandfather, my mom, and now I have lived in this house, I wonder how many are to come, or if there are going to be any more at all…" Erin thought to herself.

"Erin?" David questioned noticing the young woman's stare as she gazed at her home.

"Hm? Oh it's nothing David" Erin replied looking at David with her usual bright smile.

David sighed. "You don't have to do that in front of me you know, or Gwen" was all he said in a serious tone that was rarely heard in action.

"Do what?" Erin questioned innocently.

"Come on me, you, and Gwen have all grown up together. Me and Gwen may be five years older than you, but even so we still know each other like the back of our own hands, so you don't have to keep up a fake smile in front of us. We know what you're really feeling underneath that mask of cheer" David clarified.

Erin frowned slightly at the doctor. "So what if I'm forcing myself to smile, I'm doing it because I want to, I'm the strongest and most skilled demon slayer in this village probably the best in all seven of the demon slayer villages of the world, and I'm not going to let anyone else die… not again… so you can stop worrying about me David, I'm fine" she said firmly as she made her way into the house with Kirara on her shoulder.

"You're not fine Erin, and no matter how hard you try to fight it, you can never forget what happened that day… or who you lost in it…" David thought to himself as he followed Erin into her house.

"Grandma Jean, Papa, Mom we're home!" Erin called into the house.

"Oh, welcome back sweetheart, and oh David you here too, welcome" said an elderly woman with short red-brown hair, wore delicate glasses, a cream colored shirt and black pants and shoes, as well as the same fern green eyes as her grand daughter Erin. next to the woman was a tall elderly man with short gray hair, he wore a blue collared shirt, brown shoes and pants, he had a well pointed nose, and big bright blue eyes.

"Hey there David, are you here to check on Katie?" Erin's grandfather asked.

"I sure am!" David replied with his usual cheer returning.

"That's good, she's in the rose garden out in the backyard"

"Okay, thanks Grandma and Papa, we'll go and see her now, I want to see mom before my next mission" Erin stated.

"Oh, that's right, how was that dear?" Grandma Jean asked her.

"It was great, I managed to save everyone as per usual" Erin teased.

"You didn't bring Kirara with you?" her grandpa asked as the fire feline ran up to him and his wife purring as the man himself picked her up to scratch her behind the ears.

"No… but Papa it wasn't like the mission I'm preparing for my whole team is coming with me this time" Erin quickly said.

Her grandfather signed. "Okay, just making sure," he said.

"Well with that being said me and your Papa here are going to check on Meredith and her team" Grandma Jean said as she and her husband began to walk out the front door.

"Okay, but she prefers to be called Ered," their granddaughter clarified as her grandparents waved goodbye and closed the sliding door in their wake.

"Well shall we go and check on your mother now?" asked the doctor.

"Yeah let's go," Erin proclaimed as she picked up Kirara who rushed back to her, and set down her Hiraikotsu and headed out the back door on the other side of the house.

((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((()))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Erin and her mother Katie looked very similar: they both had long dark chestnut brown hair with bangs, fair irish skin, and were both tall and lean. The only differences between them were that Erin's mother had a few gray hairs on her head, she also had Erin's grandfather's bright blue eyes, and while Erin could walk… her mother was in a wheelchair… her mother was currently watering the blooming white roses that were around the large statue of Kirara and her grandmother… Catherine Rina…

Kirara meowed happily upon seeing the woman in the wheelchair and ran over to her and jumped into her lap, nuzzling her head by her side. "Hello Kirara," Katie cooed as she then noticed Erin and David approaching her.

"Er-bear!" she exclaimed, holding out her arms to hug her daughter, who happily embraced her.

"Hi mom, David came to check on you" Erin said after she finished hugging her mother.

"Okay, but first tell me how your mission went!" Katie insisted with a bright smile.

"Oh it was just a giant tarantula, it was nothing I couldn't handle myself" her daughter replied.

The mother then frowned. "You mean you didn't bring your team with you?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah, but it was nothing I couldn't handle alone," Erin stated.

"You didn't even bring Kirara?" her mother questioned further, making her daughter sigh.

"Mom, I was fine. It's not like I'm still in training, I'm a professional demon slayer I can handle things like this on my own" she proclaimed.

Katie sighed. "David, can you give us a minute to talk please?" the mother requested.

"Yeah, sure, call me when you're ready for your check up, Miss Katie," David said as he walked back into the house.

"What did I do now?" Erin questioned once the doctor was gone.

Her mother shook her head and sighed again. "Erin, you've become a great demon slayer, the best one in our village, no question about it and I couldn't be prouder…" she trailed off making Erin raise an eyebrow curious as to where her mother was going with this.

"But…?" the daughter questioned.

Her mother began to pet Kirara in her lap again as she continued. "But I worry for you, you're so much like I was before… this wheelchair… Like you, I was determined to perfect my slayer skills to the best of my ability, and protect all who I could find… I became obsessed with my duty as a slayer and after that horrible day where we lost part of our family all those years ago, my obsession became worse… it became so bad that… I became carless…and as you know it led to me almost losing my life…" Katie trailed off as she patted the side of her wheelchair.

Erin frowned at the painful memories coming to the front of her mind as her mother spoke, but she immediately pushed them to the back of her mind. "That won't happen to me mom, I will protect the world as it is my duty to do so as a warrior.

Her mother shook her head at her daughter's words.

"Erin listen to me, yes you are a warrior, but you are also a young woman. You have many opportunities in life. I don't want you to only be a slayer, I also want you to explore this world and its crazy yet amazing opportunities, and find something worth fighting for other than duty" Kaite said.

Erin gave her mother a skeptical stare. "Why would that matter? I fight for justice for the betterment of the world, what more is there to fight for?" she asked.

The mother only shook her head. "Nevermind sweetheart, you must be tired from today, why don't you go and rest up for tomorrow" she said, patting Erin's hand.

"Okay sure, I'll tell David you're ready to see him too," the young woman said as she walked back into the house.

Katie sighed as she watched her daughter enter the house and then turned her attention to the little cat in her lap "Kirara, I can't thank you enough for staying by her side all nineteen years of her life, just like you've always been there for me, my dad, and my grandma. I don't know what we'd do without you in our family so thank you" she said to the fire feline as she purred in her lap while Katie stroked her fur.

"Hi miss Katie, are you ready to get started on your check up?" David asked as he approached the mother from the house.

"David, I'm so worried about Erin," was all she said.

The doctor's actions became slower. "You too huh?" he questioned as he placed his doctor's bag on the grass and began to unpack it.

"I'm worried she'll end up… carless not to mention she's already guarded her heart so well that she shuts down any man that comes her way, aside from you of course but that's different because you and Gwen are together and you three grew up side by side-" Katie started, but the doctor cut her off.

"It's okay, to tell you the truth, me and Gwen are worried too, but try not to worry too much, Erin's a very capable person, she'll find her way eventually. Right Kirara?" David cooed as she scratched the fire feline behind the ears making her purr.

"I'm just glad she has you, Gwen, and her team, especially since…" Katie trailed off but stopped not wanting to talk about the painful memories she had crossing her mind at the moment.

David smiled sadly. "Do you want to start your check up?" he asked gently, making the woman nod and say nothing else.

(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((())))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

"Okay do you have your first aid kit?" David asked Max nervously the next morning when his son and the rest of his team were at the gate of the village getting ready to leave for their mission.

"For the fuck'in last time: YES!" Max stated more annoyed than usual.

David sighed. "Oh alright… do you have enough food-" the doctor started, but Max cut him off.

"Aaaaand I think we should get a move on guys were wasting daylight!" The ten year old stated trying to leave the village as soon as possible to avoid his dad's pointless talking.

"WAIT!" called out to Max who let out a loud and annoyed groan.

"What!?" he exclaimed, only to stop when David hugged him tightly.

"I love you, Max be safe okay?" the doctor said encouragingly with a smile.

Max sighed and hugged his father back. "Yeah whatever idiot," He said with a small chuckle.

"All of you be safe okay, especially you Nikki, I don't want to have to have another discussion with your mom when her and Neil's dad come back from that mission in China, because you we're too reckless again"

Nikki sighed. "Fine" she groaned

"Wait!" Someone called from afar the team of slayers turned to see Conny running towards them with Little Bunny and a plastic container in her arms. "I just wanted to say 'bye' and to wish you luck" she said panting heavily. "And that mom, the others, and me made these for you to share," Conny stated as she handed Erin the container, to which the young woman opened it to reveal a dozen chocolate chip cookies .

"Oh, hell yes!" Max stated pumping his fist upon seeing the cookies.

"Alright, thanks Conny I'll put it in my bag" Erin said as hand the container to Kirara who took it in her mouth and placed Erin's gray drawstring bag on her back. "In the meantime while we're gone, please make sure to keep up your training along with all the other kids in the village, okay?" the team leader stated kindly.

"I will!" Conny promised as she hugged Little Bunny close as she smiled at the tea and the doctor.

"Aw, why can't I carry the cookies?" Nikki whined

"Because you'd eat them all behind our backs, that's why" Neil proclaimed.

"Exactly," Max added.

"Be nice," Erin lightly scolded. "I swear I feel like I'm the only one other than Kirara who is mature on this team" the young woman thought to herself.

It wasn't long before Erin, Kirara, and the rest of their team headed out of the village, waving goodbye to everyone who saw them off. However even though they had been labeled 'The best demon slayer team in The Village of The White Rose, that didn't stop any of them from having the smallest amount of fear in their hearts for the battles to come their way, even though none of them were willing to admit it.
