Carthrone town thriving in the night as two trainers were heading towards the local gum in town. One was a guy that had dark brown hair, a cowboy hat wearing a brown vest, a white undershirt, and blue jeans. The other was a gal, with dark hair with neon green streaks in her hair, wearing a red jean jacket, overalls, and black jean shorts. The two were energetic as they got to the entrance of the gym. There seemed to be very few people left in line to take on rock gym, run by two trainers known as Lisa and Shane.
"Elaina, we've come a long way from Daytona city. Who would've thought that we'd be on our way to getting our third badge already." Said the guy in the cowboy hat he looked through his bag, checking his potions case.
"Not at all Roy, we've been training our pokemon diligently. Put in hard work and rewards come as easily as warm bean buns."
Said the gal with neon streaks in her hair.
"Yum bean buns sound good, right about now. We gotta go on the cruise before we head back home. Unless you wanna check out the morning event?" The guy in the cowboy hat said, closing his bag.
Thinking to herself for a second as the line into the gym grew smaller. The gal nodded her head.
"We could use the gift basket before we hop on the cruise. May even meet some new friends on the way." Elaina said, running her hand through her hair.
"Come to think of it. You're not wrong, we could use it."
A few minutes later they entered the rock gym. Boulders lining the scenery around the open battle ground in the middle of the gym. A guy wearing black shirt with dark jeans and a miners hat. A gal wearing the same outfit but blue shirt and jeans standing next to him.
"Lisa and Shane at your service. Welcome to our gym. Hope you're ready for a rocky road." Said the girl in blue as they both drew their pokeballs.
Roy and Elaina drew their pokeballs getting ready for the double battle. The crowd in the stands settled into their seats. Throwing their pokeballs, releasing a Treecko and Torchic. Landing in front of Roy and Elaina. Lisa and Shane throwing their pokeballs, releasing an Onix and Graveler. Graveler used stealth rock, the ground broke into small chunks surrounding Treeko and Torchic. Hitting Graveler with razor leaf was very effective.
Onix used rock tomb on Torchic, doing massive damage, it being effective. Torchic tanked the hit, having a hard time standing. Torchic gaining its balance before attacking with double kick against Onix. Doing Catastrophe damage to Onix, getting a critical hit. After Torchics attack, both Treecko and Torchic got hit by the floating rocks. Onix on its last legs, Graveler holding up but barely. Torchic struggled to stand and Treecko looked healthy. Graveler used rock throw on Torchic, but the attack narrowly missed. Treecko attacked Graveler with swift and knocked out the Graveler. Leaving Onix alone against Treecko and Torchic. Torchic used ember against Onix, not doing much damage. Upon landing the ember a floating rock hit Torchic and Treecko. Knocking Torchic out, bouncing against the rock before hitting the ground, eyes in swirles. Elaina sent out a Starly out in place of Torchic as Torchic returned to her pokeball. Treecko used swift against Onix and it was barely hanging in there. Starly hit onix with pursuit and knocked out onix. Winning the Gym battle and gaining the rock badge from Lisa and Shane.
"Congratulations you two are the third set of trainers today that have claimed victory. Take this Badge and continue on your adventure. Our weekly event isn't till tomorrow. So hang around town if you wish to participate." Announced Shane as he handed the two their badges.
Jumping up and down, Elaina ran to hug Roy. The two spun in their embrace. Breaking away from the hug the two shook Lisa and Shane's hands before leaving the gym. Carthrone town hummed in the night as the two stepped through the doors into the summer air.
"We've been on a roll for quite a while. Nothing can stop this amazing duo." Elaina exclaimed a huge smile Plastered across her face.
"Now we've just gotta get to Daytona city before another riot breaks out. At least that'd make our trip better." Roy said, holding his hat on his head as the breeze blew.
"You're such a worry wart, babe. Let's just focus on tomorrow. We've gotta stock up on supplies before we leave town." Elaina said, grabbing him by the hand and leading him to the marina.
Standing at the peer leaning on the railing the two looked out to sea as the sun began to rise. Enjoying the light as it reflects off the blue water, shimmering.
