Wind blowing the leaves of the trees, sunshine finding ways to peek through. Pokemon frolicking throughout the route while trainers moved on the beaten path admiring the sights. Sitting on a tree branch in route eighteen a Raven haired boy was eating berries with his Cyndaquill, Shar.
Seeing a familiar brown haired boy running down the route. The Raven jumped down from the branch and flagged down the boy.
"Yo Nathan, why the hurry?" Said the Raven as he dusted himself off.
"Aiden, where'd you come from? Anyway I'm on the way to register in the contest that's going down. There is supposed to be a delicious poffen mix in the prize along with a rare pokeball variation." Said the brown haired boy running his hand through his short hair.
The Raven looked at the green haired boy confused.
"You do contests? Didn't think you were into that kinda thing. Not bad though."
" I have been practicing our routine. What have you been up to?"
"Just finished training and we were relaxing. Gotta get ready to get our third gym badge. Did you end up getting your second badge?"
Asked the Raven as they began walking down the trail headed for town.
"Still getting it. Got close to winning but Sol missed a vinewhip. Don't worry though we've got it next time." Nathan said, rubbing the back of his head.
Walking into Carthrone town, the two headed to the contest hall. Where there was a long line with a camera crew crowded around the entrance.
"Wonder what all the hullabaloo is about?" Said Nathan as the two tried to get a peek.
Squeezing through the crowd the two saw a girl wearing a red scarf, purple dress, and jean jacket with rainbow colored hair.
"Sara, what brings the champion to Carthrone? Are you here to participate in the contesting going on tonight?" Said one of the camera crew.
"I'm here to pick out the winner of the contest to go on a cruise to see battle island. Luckily I won't be entering myself otherwise I'd be no competition." Said girl with rainbow colored hair.
"You heard it here folks, remember to give it your all to get the honors to go on a tremendous cruise with our raining champion Sara. For now let's go ahead and let people in to continue registration." Said the announcer to the camera before opening the doors and people going inside.
"Whoa didn't think the champion would be this far out." Said the Raven.
Nathan was giddy with joy, as he pulled on the Raven's arm. The Raven casually slapped away Roy's hand as the two proceeded into the contest hall.
"Go get your contest position and I'll grab some snacks from the vending machine." The Raven said and Nathan nodded, getting in line.
Walking over to the vending machine and inspecting it. A woman wearing blue cargo shorts and overalls walked up to him.
"Excuse me. Do you know where I can find the gym here in this town?"
"Ummm yeah, it's down past the pokecenter and around the corner. Should be right before the entrance of the Mt.Corranet." Replied the Raven as he looked at the girl.
"Thank you. Have you battled the gym before? Could use the tips if you got any." She said moving a bit of her brown hair out of her face.
"Well I haven't gone in yet. I do know it's the earth gym so grass or water moves should help." The Raven said smiling.
"Who's this? Mingling already huh." Roy said as he walked up on the two.
"Nah, just giving helpful advice. This is ummmm. What's your name miss?" Replied the Raven
"My name is Hailey, nice to meet you guys. I'm running through here to get my gym badges. Saw the champion earlier. She seems pretty strong." She said grinning ear to ear.
"I bet she is. I can't wait to battle her one day. Anyway, what spot did you get Nathan?" The Raven said, grabbing a couple of bags of chips for the two of them. The tree of them walked to one of the couches to wait.
"I got ten out of fifteen. The contest starts in an hour. Kinda excited." Nathan said.
"Cool you guys are contest goers. Not many trainers participate in contests." Said Hailey as she played with her hair,"I would love to see how your contest goes. I've gotta get to the Gym before it closes tonight."
"Better hurry, and good luck. I'll be going tomorrow." Said the Raven as he waved while Hailey got up.
Waving back she left the contest hall. Chatting for a while the contestants were called over the intercom. Patient waiting for Nathan's name to be called. After a while his name was called and the two went through the hallway past the front desk. Walking into an auditorium where three judges sat in front of the stage. The Raven went to sit in one of the seats behind the judges, while Nathan walked on stage.
"Welcome Contestant number ten. We are ready when you are." Said one of the judges as they readied their score board.
Grabbing his pokeball from his backpack he threw out his Treecko. His treecko was wearing a suit and tie.
"Terry, let's do this." Said Nathan to his Treecko. Reaching in his backpack he tossed three targets into the air.
"Terry use bullet punch." Nathan said as Treecko backfired into the air and punched the targets, breaking each one before they could land. Watching closely the judges nodded. Before landing Nathan threw one more target. "Treecko use low kick." While landing Treecko kicked the last target, smashing it into bits. Then the two bowed.
The judges whispered to each other before holding up three eights. Then Nathan gets off stage and they go back to the lobby.Meeting the Raven in the lobby they head out of the contest hall.
"That went well, I'm sure you got into the next round." The Raven said as he patted Nathan on the back.
"Thanks man, what are you about to do?"
"Gonna go to the gym after Grabbing some supplies for the general store. I'll be at the next round brah so be awesome." Said the Raven as we walked down the road.
