Yusube had a hard time believing the scene in front of him. A sea of bright orange, and the roaring commotion it came with, as dozens of Naruto's clones ran across the farm, painting the fence which encompassed the massive farm a bright white. Some using paintbrushes on the fence. Some running across the field, buckets of paint in hand. A couple of them stood in the center, co-ordinating the swarm of blondes. And in front of all of it, smiling with glee, was none other than the culprit of this whole ordeal, Genin Naruto Uzumaki.
Kakashi was surprised by the sheer amount of shadow clones Naruto had formed while Sasuke and Sakura stared in disbelief, and partially in relief that the several day long mission will be completed in less than half an hour.
Sakura spoke up, "I thought Naruto was terrible at the clone jutsu, how can he create so many of them all of a sudden? And how are they able to paint the fence? Aren't clones illusions?"
Kakashi answered the question, icha icha in hand, "Actually, all these Naruto's are actually a special type of clone known as shadow clone jutsu. Unlike normal clones, these are physical clones and can interact with objects and have their own free will."
Sasuke leaned towards the blonde and whispered, "You have to tell me how to use that jutsu"
Kakashi overheard this and spoke from under his icha icha book, "Actually, if you even create a single shadow clone, you might die from chakra exhaustion. It requires so much chakra to create a single shadow clone that it is listed as an A-rank jutsu, only usable by some jonin. The multiple shadow clone jutsu Naruto is using was made forbidden jutsu by the second hokage who created it because it took way too much chakra for a normal shinobi to handle. Even I can only create 5 or 6 at most. The only reason Naruto is capable of creating so many is because he has such a large chakra pool. It is also partially the reason he can't use the normal clone jutsu in the first place, as it is the exact opposite and requires such a miniscule amount of chakra to perform.
The other two genin looked at Naruto in awe until Sakura realized, "Wait, how did Naruto get his hands on a forbidden jutsu in the first place?"
Naruto scratched the back of his head, "That's a story for another day. Anyway, it looks like our job here is done." They turned to the now freshly painted fence as one by one the shadow clones began to dispel.
Farmer Yusube, still in a slight daze, gave the genin team the confirmation letter for the mission and they went on their way back to the mission assignment office.
The chunin at the mission desk was equally shocked when the genin team that had been assigned a several day mission had returned in a bit over an hour with the completion letter.
"Alright, for our first training session, I want each of you to spar with me one by one so I can gauge your individual abilities."
Sasuke stood across Kakashi. He took his stance while Kakashi pulled out his book. However, the Uchiha remained completely on guard. His past self may have been annoyed at Kakashi's lack of interest in the fight, but after he experienced his sensei's skill during the genin test that the jounin had every right to act so nonchalant.
Sasuke ran to the side and threw some shuriken at Kakashi. The jounin stepped back to avoid them, then immediately ducked as some more shuriken flew over his silver hair. A foot appeared in the center of his vision as he backflipped and kicked Sasuke's leg into the air. Sasuke replied with a kunai to distract Kakashi as he regained his footing and entered close combat.
Kakashi closed his book to focus on the fight and used his other arm to exchange blows with the genin. Sasuke realized this was going nowhere and frontflipped into a scissor kick, and used the arm that Kakashi blocked the kick with to propel himself into the air and threw some more shuriken at Kakashi. The jounin pulled out a kunai and parried the shuriken, as Sasuke raced back to close the gap.
From the corner of his eye, Kakashi saw a shuriken that was hidden from view loop around to hit him in the back as he realized that Sasuke put him in a trap.
'Shadow Shuriken Jutsu, huh.'
If he blocked the shuriken he would be open to Sasuke's hit and if he blocked Sasuke's punches he would be hit square in the back with a shuriken. The jounin admitted it was a pretty decent plan, at least for a genin.
However, he was facing Kakashi Hatake, elite jounin of Konoha. Kakashi spun around and in a single fluid motion, lined up his prized Icha-Icha to slap the shuriken to the ground and then brought the book to the Uchiha's throat.
"Very good plan. But now it's over."
Sasuke was confused as to how the fight had ended when he hadn't lost, until Kakashi removed the book from underneath the genin's head to reveal a small razor poking out between the pages. If he had moved even an inch further, the blade would've cut his throat. The boy accepted defeat and along with it, a greater respect for his new jounin sensei.
Kakashi instructed the young Uchiha, "I want you to think about how the fight went while the other two get their turn."
Sasuke nodded as he went back to the other two genin as Naruto got up enthusiastically to fight his sensei.
"Next up is Sakura. Stand over here and take your stance." Naruto stood there with disappointment as Sakura walked over to Kakashi.
Sakura had thought long and hard the past few days about what Naruto had said that day at the ramen stand. She realized how little she actually knew about her crush, and she wanted to change that. She understood that fangirling over the Uchiha was going to get her nowhere just like the past 6 years at the academy. She no longer wanted to be a dainty princess who needs to be saved by some dashing prince. No. She wanted to get stronger for herself, on her own terms. Someone strong enough for Sasuke to rely on, as a true comrade. A powerful kunoichi. And, if Sasuke does end up falling for her, that's a big plus.
Sakura took the basic academy stance and prepared herself. She knew she was nowhere as good as Sasuke, or even a deadlast like Naruto (though ever since they became a team she began to doubt Naruto's lack of skill). But the first step to getting stronger was to understand her strengths and weaknesses, and this fight would help her do just that. She was ready to give it her all
Sakura ran straight at Kakashi and threw punches and a couple kicks while Kakashi remained on the defensive. After a while she wondered why her sensei was only blocking and not hitting back until she stopped to think. All of her blows connected with the jounin, but none of her punches felt solid.
Genjutsu.
She disrupted her chakra flow and got out of it just in time to see Kakashi's fist and jumped back. But it was not good enough. The silver haired jounin spun around and directed a roundhouse kick towards the girl's head. She tried to bring an arm up to cushion the blow, but she was too slow. The kick came towards her as she braced for impact.
But she didn't feel anything. She opened her eyes to see Kakashi's foot less than an inch away from her face. He lowered his leg and relaxed himself. Sakura knew that spar was over and began to walk back, head slightly lowered.
Kakashi was about to comfort her, but when he saw her face, he realized she was not sad at her loss. In fact, she had a look of determination. He was about to give her the same instructions as Sasuke, but knew she was already thinking of ways to better herself.
Kakashi didn't know how or where Sakura's change happened, but he was definitely proud that she has become more serious in becoming a kunoichi, and is no longer a pathetic little fangirl.
As Sakura walked back to her teammates Naruto said, "You might not think much of it, but you did great! Now it's my turn!" Naruto jumped excitedly to face Kakashi. In his past life, he hadn't gotten time to spar with the jounin after he became the 6th Hokage.
Naruto took his stance.
Kakashi lowered his book from his face and looked at the orange clad genin.
He was utterly flabbergasted.
Naruto had taken on the weirdest taijutsu stance he had ever seen in his life.
His body was low as to run straight at the opponent, but his legs were positioned to the side, and his arms were placed in awkward positions. It was an overall unsettling stance which was completely unorthodox.
Sasuke also noticed the weird stance. "What kind of stance is that? Did you forget how to do taijutsu?" Naruto said back to the Uchiha, "Shut up and watch how it's done. The normal Academy Taijutsu is too boring and straightforward. I'm doing this my way."
Naruto charged at Kakashi and sent his foot towards the jounin's midsection as he put his arm to block it…
And felt Naruto's elbow hit his shin.
Kakashi stepped back as he felt his leg was slightly bruised. He looked towards Naruto, and saw he was in what could only be described as some kind of yoga pose.
The Uzumaki spun around on one foot and got back into position. Sasuke and Sakura were in shock as Naruto had managed to land a solid hit on their sensei.
Naruto smirked as Kakashi looked at the boy in confusion. Naruto charged at the jounin and aimed a punch at his abdomen as Kakashi crossed his arms in a x position.
And Naruto's foot hit Kakashi square in the face.
He had smacked his arm into the ground and used it as a fulcrum to flip his body over and kick Kakashi in the face.
He had hit the jounin once again.
This happened several more times. Naruto went for an elbow to the shoulder and kicked Kakashi in the knee. He aimed a knee to his gut and then headbutted him. Kakashi tried to read Naruto's moves to counter, but simply couldn't.
Naruto had successfully hit his sensei multiple times. They definitely were not enough to take the man down, but they put a large dent in the jounin's ego.
Kakashi finally gave in. "Alright, that's enough. That was definitely… surprising."
Sasuke ran up to Naruto. "How did you do that?!" To which the blonde with a grin responded, "I told you I would show you how it's done. It's the new taijutsu technique I'm working on, that's just like me. Unpredictable and completely amazing."
Kakashi called all three of them and advised them on their flaws and how to overcome them.
"Sasuke, you have good strategy and speed, but your reflexes weren't fast enough and you have a hard time thinking quickly on your feet. Naruto and his shadow clones should be a great way to improve those."
"Sakura, you may have already realized that what you have in intelligence is strictly lacking in physical prowess. You can anticipate attacks but your body currently isn't strong or fast enough to react to it. However I can see that you have begun making changes. Keep up the work and it will surely benefit you in the future."
Sasuke and Sakura nodded and took the advice to heart.
"Now Naruto, I have to admit, that was quite frankly amazing. I couldn't once tell where your attack was coming from. However, I can tell it was a little rough on the edges, which makes sense as you came up with it recently. Try to fix that. By the way, have you come up with a name for this taijutsu of yours?"
Naruto grinned and replied, "Don't worry, now that I've been able to use it on an experienced ninja like Kakashi-sensei, I think I know just what it needs. As for the name, I was thinking…"
"Unknowing Fist."
Unknowing Fist, the final culmination of the hundreds of taijutsu stances mastered by Naruto in his previous life, from swift and smooth techniques like gentle fist and flowing water, to quick and powerful ones like strong fist and thunder bridge, all of them poured into a single devastating technique. Right now, the only thing preventing its greatness is Naruto's young body, incapable of using it to its maximum potential.
Sasuke chuckled slightly. "That name is just as weird as your technique. But I do know one thing. It is definitely strong. And one day, I will beat you with my own technique."
Naruto looked at Sasuke with a serious stare, not breaking eye contact, until he grinned and put forward with open hand. "Make that a bet?"
Sasuke smirked back and accepted the handshake, "Of course."
Finally broke 2k words in one chapter!
Another fight scene, let me know if it was enjoyable enough.
