"Daddy, Mommy, do you know when you'll be back?"

Finishing the last of their preparations, Mé and Kalos, donned in the village's jonin attires, turn to their curious offspring. A smile adorning their visage as Kalos squats down ruffling Relon's already messy hair.

"It shouldn't take no longer than a week, champ."

"Make sure you behave while with grandfather, okay?" Mé reminds, Relon nodding as said man comes up placing wrinkled hands on the boy's shoulders.

"Don't you two worry one bit. We'll have a fun time like always, won't we Relon?" He smiles, Relon's small body having squirmed at the sheer force behind his grandfather's hands.

At the time, neither of his parents noticed as they had already turned their backs. Relon never thought ill of his grandfather. Not once and yet, had he made the comment on the grip his grandfather always gave him, maybe his parents would have turned around with even the smallest bit of curiosity in their eyes. Maybe the village wouldn't have been destroyed. Maybe his family wouldn't have…

Slowly stirring, his body curls into a ball as his eyes slowly open. The moonlight shining clear into the hotel room as his eyes take sight of Anko and Kurenai still asleep. Looking to an empty futon where Tayuya would be, he finds said girl not there.

Lifting up, he feels the slight night's breeze brush against his skin. Looking to the balcony screen ajar, he finds the redhead gazing at the night sky. Sliding the doorway open, careful not to wake the two women, the sound of it catches Tayuya's attention.

"Relon…"

"Couldn't sleep either?" A nod is her answer. "Same…" A moment of silence befalling the duo as they shift their gazes up to the moonlight.

"Yesterday feels like a dream." She speaks, breaking the silence as her eyes lower to the road below with few civilians out and about.

Taking in her words, Tayuya continues before he can.

"Leaving home. Running into you. Even meeting those two." She gives a glance to the dormant women. "It feels like I'll wake up back home in mommy's arms. A big bowl of soup waiting for me at the kitchen table."

Taking in her words, he comes up with his response after a moment of thought.

"Same."

Expecting something more, Tayuya blinks before eyeing Relon.

"Huh?"

"I wish it all was a dream too." He simply says. "But… it's not a dream, is it?" His eyes drooping slightly.

"No… it's not." She hugs her legs. "I don't know how to feel…"

"Ms. Anko and Kurenai are supposedly taking us to a new home."

"How can we trust them?" She wonders looking at the sleeping women. "What if they plan to…" She stops, unable to finish the horrid thought aloud.

"I don't think they're bad." He says gaining her attention.

"How can you be so sure?" Tayuya mutters fumbling with her hands in worry.

"I don't know about Ms. Kurenai but…"

"But what?"

"Ms. Anko reminded me a lot of my own mommy. Kind and caring." He smiles looking to the knocked out woman. "She gave me this warm fuzzy feeling when we talked earlier too. Mommy always had that feeling."

"... Just like my mommy…"

"Tayuya." He calls, gaining her attention. "I think we'll be okay. Ms. Anko… and even Ms. Kurenai. They're here to help us."

"You think so?" He nods in resolute. "When I was in the bath, Ms. Kurenai was kind and helped wash me…" She muses aloud, Relon noticing her pondering something in her head.

"They saved us after all." Relon smiles.

"No." Tayuya shakes her head for Relon to tilt his head in slight confusion. "You saved me, Relon."

"Me?" She nods, gazing back up at the night sky. "They're taking us somewhere safe but you saved me. That bowl of ramen, you didn't have to do that for me. But you did." She turns to his dumbfounded face. "No matter what anyone says, you're the one who saved me." She states resolute in her answer.

"But-"

"No buts!" She cuts him off, hitting his arm to pout.

"Ow!" He winces, careful not to wake the two women as he rubs his arm.

"You could have left me alone, but you didn't." Her expression lightens. "So thank you." She smiles.

"Happy I could help." He smiles back.

Peering with an eye open, Anko closes it. A satisfied smile plastered on her face.

Those two… Heh.
