POV - Whitley

The world came back to me as the red faded from my vision. Looking around me I was greeted to the image of death.

'What happened'

Looking down I saw that I was holding a dead guard by a the collar of his armor. Dropping him he hit the floor with a sickening thud. Looking up toward the mine managers room I saw that the door was untouched. Turning into smoke I made my way toward the door. Landing on my feet I grabbed the door handle and twisted it, the door didn't move. Backing up I raised my leg and kicked the door right off its hinges.

"Stay back or I'll shot," he said holding a gun to a young boys head.

Doing as he said, I stood still.

"Drop the guns," he ordered.

Throwing them to the side they dissolved into nothing.

"Let go of him now or you wont like what I do to you," I said.

"And what are you going to do you don't even have your weapons," he said smugly.

I point my right arm at him I fired an arrow right into the hand that he was holding the gun in. Using this as an opening I turned into smoke and flow right infront of the kid. Pushing the kid to the side I deployed my wrist blade and shoved it in his other shoulder.

"I warned you," I said.

"Please don't I want to live," he begged.

"Then you should have chosen a different job," I said.

"Please," he weakly pleaded.

I stopped for a moment to breath.

'Should I leave him alive'

"What all has he done to your people boy," I asked.

"H-he over l-l-looked all of the b-beating and mistreatment," the young boy, who couldn't be more then 6 years old, answered through quiet tears.

"Is there anything else," I asked.

"Every s-so often a young girl is br-brought up here by the guards and after a-a hours she c-comes back to us in tears," he replies.

"How young," I asked.

"15," he answered.

"Seems your actions have spoken for you," I said.

"Please n-

BANG

Slowly his body slid to the floor as I froze his heart.

"Come on kid," I said.

I extended my hand out to him. Slowly he stood up and walked over to me. He grabbed my hand lightly as if I was going to shatter if he squeezed. Leading him out the door I began walking toward the stairs. He seemed to freeze in place. His eyes bulged as he looked down. Following his eyes I could see what he was looking at. 13 guards were scattered around the room, horribly dismembered by the ice of my semblance.

"What's wrong," I asked him knowing the answer.

"Are you monster," he asked.

'That's what you're worried about'

"No, but I'm not someone that these people should mess with," I answered.

We started to walk down the stairs slowly but fast enough to not make time a problem. Finally after a few minutes we made it back to the rest of the faunus. Pulling the door off its hinges I threw it behind us. Walking forward I let go of his head and began using my semblance. Slowly the floor and walls were turned to ice.

"Push on the doors," I said.

One by one the cell doors opened as the locks shattered.

"Wait here for a moment, I need to do one last thing," I said before walking back out of the room.

Walking down the hall I found where they were keeping all of the dust.

'Time to set up a bomb.

Looking around I saw an assortment of misplaced switch detonated tnt.

'Convenient, why the hell is this here'

Grabbing the detonator I put it in my pocket. Setting the explosives on each of the dust collection bins I left the room and headed back to the faunus.

"Everybody follow me," I said upon returning to them.

I started leading the hundreds of faunus out of the mine into the cold Solitas flatland. Summoning a blizzard in my head, I threw it straight in the air and started to form a blizzard around us. Forcing my semblance outward the blizzard formed into a dome. Walking forward I made my way toward the ocean.

"Why are we going toward the water," I heard one of the faunus ask.

"You will see," I said.

The sound of waves hitting the beach became louder and louder as we closed the distance between us and the ocean. Looking up ahead I saw Brutus' boat in the distance. Grabbing The Scroll I called him.

"Hello," Brutus said.

"I'm nearing the water, ready your men," I said.

"I'm on it," he said before hanging up.

We reached the ocean and stopped. Dropping my hands the blizzard dome dissipated. Taking a step forward the water turned to ice under my foot. Taking another step I made a large path on the water for the faunus to walk on.

"Lets go people," I said.

Walking forward I new this was going to take a lot out of me but I had to do it. The boat became larger andarger by the second as we got closer.

"Is that them," I heard a voice ask in the distance.

"Yes, now get ready," I heard the deep booming voice of Brutus say.

I started making a ramp up to the opening on in the railing. I could see Brutus reach his hand out to me. Grabbing it he pulled me forward and sat me down on the deck letting me back rest on the railing. The faunus were given blankets to wrap themselves up in and then guided down underdeck.

"You did good kid," Brutus said.

Instead of words I handed him a letter.

"Give this to the Belladonnas," I told him.

"I will, now rest for a minute," he said as the last of the faunus broaded the boat.

Taking a minute to breath the world around me slowly turned dark as I seemed to fall asleep.

(Time Skip)

"Wake up... Death, wake up," someone said.

Opening my eyes I saw Brutus standing over me.

"Wake up Death," he said.

"What," I said.

"It's been 30 minutes, you gotta go," he said.

"Thank you Brutus, call me when you get to Menagerie," I said before turning into smoke and flying back toward Atlas.

'I hope you want your family back as bad as I think you do James'

Flying as fast as I could toward Atlas Academy to try and make ul for the time I lost sleeping. Soon I was speeding over Mantel nearing my top speed. Slowing down as I approached Atlas Academy I directed myself toward James' office. Finding a vent I made my way into the hall outside of his office.

It was completely empty, no lights, and the only noise was coming form James' office. Staying in smoke form I waited above his door. I could here two voices inside but couldn't care less about what they were talking about. After some time the doors opened revealing my Winter leaving the office. Waiting for here to make her why inside the elevator I opened the door.

"I already told you Winter, Whitley will be fine," he said without looking up.

"I'm aware," I said.

Standing up he reached for his gun before stopping.

"Whitley what are you doing here," he asked.

Taking off my mask I looked at him for a moment before walking to the center of the room.

"Would you say that what Jacques is doing is wrong," I asked him.

"It is but I'm stuck because of the money he gives the military," he answered.

"What if I said that I could become a thorn in his side," I said.

"I would say be careful," he said.

"James you know what I can do, but I need to know if you're with me or not," I said.

"What are you going to do Whitley," he asked concern dripping off his every word.

"I'm going to become the bane of the SDC's existence and mostlikly the only thing that Jacques will ever need to fear," I answered.

"But you're so-

"Young," I said cutting him off.

"Exactly," he said.

"Do you know why do you think I purposely stranded myself in the mountains," I asked.

"Because you wanted training," he said.

"No because I wanted to stop what I saw when Jacques let me see the mines from ever happening again," I said.

We stood in silence for what felt like hours.

"What do I need to do," he asked.

"When you are eventually forced to investigate me don't put to much into it," I said.

"I can do that," he said.

"Good," I said before reaching into my pocket and pulling out the detonator.

"What is that for," he asked.

"This is how I will make my entrance," I said walking up to the window.

I pressed the trigger and waited.

Boom

The ground shock as a large cloud of dust could barely be seen in the distance. James slowly walked over to the window and stood next to me.

"Well that's one entrance," he said.

"Thank you," I said.

"How will I contact you," he asked.

Reaching into my coat pocket I pulled out a scroll.

"There is a number on this scroll make sure it stays that way," I said.

"I understand," he said.

"Have a goodnight James," I said before leaving.
