POV - Brutus
Waking up was Interesting to say the least. I was barely on the bed I was given, I was still in my pants without my jacked. The most shocking thing though, was the number of empty beer bottles surrounding me.
'And this Brutus is why you stopped drinking'
Standing up I was immediately hit by the major nausea spell.
"Oum please never let me do that again," I said to one in particular.
"Why are you protecting a human," a voice yelled from outside.
'Fuck'
Standing up once more I grabbed my jacket and made my way toward the door.
"Because that human has saved hundreds of our people," I heard Ghira yell in return.
Walking faster I bumped into Meg.
"Sure," I said.
"It's fine, he should be waking up soon," she said.
"What's going on outside," I asked.
"Sienna got here a few minutes ago, I was on my way to get you," she answered.
"Let's go then," I said.
POV - Ilia
'Finally they're leaving'
Waiting in camouflage for a few more minutes I could feel the excitement in my body.
'I'll finally be able to show them that I'm capable'
Stepping out of the shadows I began wandering around the Belladonna home.
'How I miss staying here'
Looking into the last room I saw the White Death laying on a bed.
'There you are'
Walking quietly over to his sleeping figure I grabbed my weapon and ready it to strike. Looking at him again I looked at his mask, a mask much like my own, but different in so many ways.
'Who is under that mask'
Lowering my weapon I put it back in it's holster.
'She never said I wasn't aloud to look'
Grabbing the mask I began pulling it off his face. Has the mask came off I barely keep myself from falling.
'Whitley'
His mask slipped from my head and clattered to the floor making me freeze. Looking down I saw the mask sitting on the floor undamaged.
"Brutus," I heard the groggy voice of Whitley say.
I panicked, looking around me there was no place for me to hide.
'Place don't hurt me Whitley'
He sat up and rubbed away the tiredness in his eyes. Looking around the room he seemed to spot his mask on the floor.
"Who are you," he asked.
'What'
"I can tell you where you're standing if you'd like," he said.
Slowly I made myself viable again.
"Hello Ilia," he said.
"Hi Whitley," I said.
"Mind telling me why you're in here," he asked.
"Sienna sent me to kill the White Death," I answered.
"Hmm seems she doesn't like me," he said.
"No it's not that... she doesn't like that you're a human," I said.
"Understandable," he said.
"And why is that exactly," I heard the booming voice of the crocodile.
"Seems Brutus isn't very happy," Whitley said.
"I don't think so," I said.
Slowly he got out of bed and walked toward me. I froze fearing what he might do to me.
"I'm not gonna hurt you," he said before kneeling down.
He picked up and examined his mask before placing it on his face.
"Let's get going," he said.
He began walking toward the door before stopping to look at me.
"What are you waiting for an invitation," he said.
"No sorry I'm just... surprised," I said.
"That's fair, now let's go," he said.
Following him out of the room he looked left and right before turning left. Quickly I grabbed his shoulder.
"It's this way," I said pointing right.
"Lead the way then," he said.
Grabbing his hand I began leading him toward the door.
"Is there a reason you're holding my hand," he asked.
"Oh sorry," I said before letting go of his hand.
"How have you been," he asked.
"I've been good," I said, "You?"
"I've been... busy," he answered.
"That's a fair answer," I said.
The yelling was getting louder and louder as we got closer to door.
"If they even mention hurting you I will intervene," he said.
"I know you will," I said.
I pushed the door open and stepped out. Immediately the Belladonna's, the know named Brutus, and the nurse turned to me. Walking down the steps I passed them and made my way next to Adam.
"And like that the human is-
"What dead," Whitley said interrupting Sienna.
The crowds went silent.
"It really hurts me that you would send somebody to kill me, especially since that person is the first person I saved," Whitley said.
"Why are you here human," Sienna yelled.
"I was receiving medical attention," Whitley replied.
"And what gives you the right to be here," Sienna yelled once more.
"First do you really need to yell," Whitley said, "Second is it wrong that I wished to see the land that the people I save are being sent to?"
"You have no right to be here murderer," Adam said.
"I'm sorry, what did You call me," Whitley asked.
"I called you a-
"No you misunderstand, I'm not asking you what you said, I'm asking of you think You have any right to call me that," Whitley said.
"I have every right to-
"To what, murder innocent people who did nothing to the faunus, the right to slaughter children who, only crimes were not stopping a bully," Whilty said.
"Enough," Sienna yelled.
"Again, why are we yelling," Whitley asked.
"Are you hurt," Blake quietly asked me as Adam, Sienna, and Whitley continued their argument.
"He didn't hurt me," I answered equally as quiet.
"What did he do then," she asked.
"He recognized me," I answered.
"How so," she asked.
"He does his best to remember every face he saves," I answered.
"Do you know what was wrong with him," she asked.
"Look at him," I answered pointing at the bandages wrapped around his chest.
"What caused them," she asked.
"Don't know, didn't really have the time to ask.
"And you have killed faunus," Whitley said.
'What'
The crowd went deathly silent.
"What did you say," Adam asked.
"Don't act dumb Taurus, you know exactly what I'm talking about," Whitley said.
"No I don't think I do," Adam said.
I turned to look at Blake for answers but was met by an equally confused face.
"Stracony," Whitley said.
This one word made Adam freeze in place.
"What is he talking about," Sienna asked.
"As I was doing my research on your little group, I found a page all about Stracony and the atrocities that happened there," Whitley said.
"Stracony was a mistake I will admit that," Sienna said.
"Oh I'm not talking about the humans am I Adam," Whitley said dangerously.
"What is he talking about Adam," Sienna asked.
Whitley waited for Adam to respond but was met with silence.
"Seeing as you're not gonna say anything, I will," Whitley said, "You are very aware of what happened to the humans in Stracony yes?"
"Yes I am," Sienna answered.
"But did you know about the very popular faunus orphanage that was in that town," Whitley asked.
"What," Sienna asked.
"Yes, you see, faunus children tend to be abandoned out in the smaller towns do to the brothels that happen to be filled with mostly faunus women," Whitley said.
"Yes, something that we are working to stop," Sienna said.
"Let me finish, so a kind human couple created a orphanage specifically for said abandoned children, and the town of Stracony, well yes a normally very racist town, funded it's creation," Whitley said.
"I assure you I had no ide of this," Sienna said.
"But he did," Whitley said pointing to Adam.
"What," Sienna anger more clear in her voice then the sky above us.
"He had learned of this orphanage but didn't tell his men leading to it being burned down with the children inside," Whitley said.
"Why did this happen Adam," Sienna asked, the anger so clear in her voice it made the clear blue sky look cloud.
"It happened because he let his hatred of the humans cloud his judgment," Whitley said.
"How do you know this," Sienna asked.
"Because I do my research," Whitley said.
"You dare," Adam yelled.
"Yes I do," Whitley said.
"You think I'm scared of you," Adam asked.
"You should be," Whitley said.
"No, I will find everything you love and destroy it human," Adam yelled.
'What'
"Is that a threat Taurus," Whitley asked.
"Yes, yes it is," Adam answered.
"Let me tell you something Adam, you will not touch my family, you will not touch Atlas, and you will not touch Jacques," Whitley said.
"Oh and who is gonna stop me from doing that," Adam asked.
"I dont think you know who you're dealing with Adam, I'm not some Atlas soldier, I am the White Death. I am the man who Jacques Schnee fears, I am the man who could easily tear down the White Fang without any help," Whitley said.
Adam drew his sword but he didn't point it at Whitley, no he pointed it at me.
"Why didn't you kill him," Adam yelled.
Before I could answer Adam's sword was yanked from his hand and his head was firmly planted in the durt.
"You will not hurt this girl, nor any other faunus or I will kill you," Whitley said before standing up and backing away.
Adam pulled himself out of the dirt and glared at Whitley.
"You think I'm scared of your threats human," Adam asked.
"Threat, no that's not a threat, it's a promise," Whitley said.
Adam did something incredible stupid after Whitley finished saying those words, he charged him. Without a second though Whitley pulled a shotgun out of thin air and froze Adam's legs in place.
"You really should think before you act," Whitley said.
"Don't you dare mock me human," Adam said.
Whitley began walking toward Adam, and with ever step Whitley took, the ice around Adam's legs would climb up his body just a little bit until the only thing not froze was his head. Whitley raised his hand, and I covered my eyes fearing the worst. I waited to hear it, the sound of Adam being killed, but it never came. Uncovering my eyes I say Whitley hold Adam's mask in his right hand.
"So this is why you hate humans so much," Whitley said.
Whitley stood there for a moment without saying a word.
"It's pathetic really; your mother is alive and well here in Menagerie, same goes with your father, and both of them a pacifist. So tell me why can't you just drop it," Whitley said.
Adam said nothing only growled at Whitley like some freak of nature.
"Can't even have a civil conversation," Whitley said before putting the mask back on Adam's face.
Whitley pulled his hand back and punched Adam sending him flying back.
"Whenever you're ready to hold a actually conversation you know where to find me Sienna," Whitley said before turning around and walking back into the house.
POV - Kali
"Threat, no that's not a threat, it's a promise," Whitley said.
'Would he actually hurt them'
"We need to find a way to end this," Ghira whispered to me.
"You're right but how," I whispered back.
"He's not gonna do anything dumb when he's vulnerable like this," Brutus said.
"Will he actually hurt them," I asked Brutus.
"Whitley made a promise to a few people, I won't go into the details, just know that he isn't going to hurt them for nothing," he answered.
'What's that supposed to mean'
"So this is why you hate humans so much," Whitley said.
I could see the scar on his face, it hadn't healed at all sinse I last saw it. I should have long since healed but he isn't letting his aura do that. Maybe it's on purpose, but I doubt that.
"Whenever you're ready to hold a actually conversation you know where to find me Sienna," Whitley said before turning and walk toward us.
"Let's get you off your feet Death," Meg said as she pulled Whitley back inside.
"Come on you two," Brutus said as he walked back in the house.
I didn't move, instead I scanned the crowds looking for my kitten. I felt the large head of Ghira touch my shoulder.
"She not gonna come up here," Ghira said.
"I just wish she would," I said before turning around and walking back inside.
"So do I," Ghira said.
