Chapter 13
And here we go! The final chapter of the OVA series. I hope you are ready for this one because that'll be showing three of the side characters that were sidelined at the beginning of Bleach: Tatsuki Arisawa, Chad, and Orihime Inoue.
Karakura Town
Beta: Old Man of the Mountain/Darklord331
"Why can't I seem to get stronger?" Tatsuki Arisawa asked herself as she walked back home to take a bath and sleep while looking at her left arm before clenching the fist as she could feel the Boosted Gears arm on her.
Ever since she had returned from the Soul Society, she could feel herself getting more substantial and was able to unlock the Upgraded Form: Boosted Gear Gift, which allowed her to Transfer power to others; however, even with the extra power she gained, she was still no match for the more influential individuals that the Soul Society had in their ranks.
Sure, the Red Dragon Empress could take on Third Seats and Low Ranked Lieutenants, but Captains were a completely different story, given that the Captains had far more experience and power than Tatsuki did in her body.
Ultimately, Tatsuki could handle Low Tiered Low-level threats, but that's it. The Karate Master had her pride wounded by the reality that she wasn't the most potent fighter anymore. Her whole life was karate and training to be the strongest, only to discover that there are more powerful fighters out there, and she has yet to meet them.
"Damn. Look at me. The Karate Master of Karakura Town with the power of a Longinus, yet I couldn't even beat a damn Arrancar when my guard was down." Tatsuki grumbled as she clenched her fists while beating herself up until she walked into her neighborhood to witness Chad and Orihime at her home trying to fight a man who seemed to be calm while dodging their attacks with ease.
"Come on. How do you expect to beat an Arrancar with pathetic strength like that? It's no wonder you three desperately need power if you stand a chance against the upcoming battles." The man said as Tatsuki got a look at the man and saw that he wasn't to be messed with.
In Tatsuki's eyes, the attacker was a young man with light silver hair and hazel eyes. He wore a dark green V-neck shirt with a high-collared black leather jacket. He also wore burgundy jeans with a silver chain drooping down over them, black leather chaps with three bands encircling his right calf, and black shoes with black buckles.
Tatsuki summoned her Sacred Gear as she silently boosted herself twice before coming out of the shadows and threw a left hook which was met with an unprotected hand that caught the punch, shocking the Karate Master, who made the man smirk in reply as he turned to face her.
"So you're supposed to be my rival then?" The man asked condescendingly, eying the person up and down until he scoffed at her. "You not even worth my time." The man said as he punched Tatsuki in the face, which sent her back a bit far until she could stop herself. She looked to see Chad using his more enhanced punches against their opponent, who quickly blocked the attacks but nodded Chad's way.
"Hm. Sending powerful punches that have concentrated spiritual energy within them. Not bad. I would've been impressed and worried if I were a rookie or a Low-Level Devil. Sadly, it'll take a lot more than that even to land a hit on me. I've trained a lot longer than you've been alive, and trust me when I say this; you're more interesting than my supposed rival is." The man said as he summoned a pair of white and blue armored wings that shocked the trio until the man introduced himself to the trio.
"My name is Vali, the White Dragon Emperor of this generation, and frankly, I'm disappointed to see that my rival is this weak little girl who hasn't even unlocked Balance Breaker," Vali said as he looked at Tatsuki with annoyance while catching Tsubaki that Orihime launched at him, which amused the silver-haired fighter before throwing the small fairy back at Orihime before chuckling at the sad attempt.
"Heh. How cute. It's adorable you thought that could hurt me." Vali said as he looked at the three of them, trying to look for a weakness. Vali saw Tatsuki's left arm glowing with power until a ball of condensed energy formed in the palm of her hand.
"Dragon Shot!" Tatsuki yelled as she fired the blast at Vali, who just remained where he stood until he looked at the incoming attack and raised a brow at the Dragon Shot before catching it with his right hand, which shocked Tatsuki even more until Vali looked at the Dragon Shot before the crimson orb became blue which shocked Tatsuki and the others.
"Why so surprised? Surely Ddraig told you about Albion and his abilities, right?" Vali asked as Tatsuki couldn't even comprehend what was being said to her until the silver-haired man sighed as he shook his head in disappointment.
"You mean to tell me Ddraig hasn't even spoken to you? Not surprising because you have awakened the Boosted Gear, but you still can't hear his voice. How much more of a disappointment can you be?" Vali asked as he spun the blue orb in his right hand until he fired it back at Tatsuki, who blocked it with her armored hand but was shocked to see the orb shatter her armor before she saw her left arm explode.
"Ah!" Tatsuki shouted as she held her left arm with her right hand, a futile attempt to stop the bleeding until she felt something stab her in the chest.
"Sorry, but I might as well kill you so Ddraig can go find a partner who can bring out his full strength," Vali said in a bored tone as he stood in front of Tatsuki with his hand in her chest, which scared Tatsuki before Vali removed his hand and watched Tatsuki collapse on the ground.
"Apologies, but if you can't even hear Ddriag's voice or begin to understand what the Boosted Gear is, you don't deserve to become the Red Dragon Empress, and you certainly don't deserve my respect as a warrior," Vali said as he turned around and saw Orihime throwing Tsubaki once more with a look of rage as she yelled at seeing Tatsuki dead. At the same time, Chad roared with rage as his left and right arm glowed with power.
Vali looked at the power behind the arms and was impressed by the look of the left arm since it looked more like a demon than the right arm, which looked the same, but the arm was much more extensive and had a shield.
The right arm extended from Chad's hand to some distance beyond his forearm, with the same intricate pattern as before. Hollow-like teeth lie in the center, with a rose-like pattern or skeletal nose and eyes near the end. He no longer had the wing-like protrusion that extended from his shoulder and replaced it with a hexagonal plate that covered his wrist up to his shoulder.
Meanwhile, his left arm was now white, with a red stripe running down the length of the center. His fingertips had red diamond-shaped marks on them. A spike protruded from the shoulder. And two more, resembling claws, extended over his chest.
"Interesting. Let's see what you are capable of now." Vali said as a smile appeared on his face as he headed to the two of them and began to clash with Chad.
"Brazo Derecha Del Gigante!" Chad shouted as he fired a concentrated blast of spiritual energy at Vali, who grabbed the hand and began to absorb his power.
[Divide!]
[Divide!]
[Divide!]
[Divide!]
Chad's power shrunk down even more while Vali smirked at the attempt.
"Not bad, but you're up against the wrong opponent," Vali said as he threw the giant over his shoulder and blocked another futile attempt with Orihime using Tsubaki again.
"Are you serious? Again with this little fairy?" Vali asked as he looked at the flailing fairy in his hand before sighing at the tiny bug.
"Look, princess, you don't know how to use your rage to fight properly. Honestly, you are better off not on the battlefield. You should stick with what your good at and don't try to be a hero." Vali said as he crushed Tsubaki into pieces which shocked Orihime as she watched the pixie die in the hands of Vali before Orihime sank to her knees.
"T-Tsubaki." Orihime stuttered as Vali looked at the girl and just placed it on her head, causing her to freeze.
"Best you just go ahead and sleep," Vali said as he allowed his Sacred Gear to absorb Orihime's strength, as she then collapsed on her side.
Vali felt a massive amount of energy behind him as he turned around to see Chad slowly standing up. His left arm began to transform into a demon arm, making Vali smirk at the giant as Chad's body erupted dark green energy.
"Oh? A Senjutsu user in this town? How interesting." Vali said in excitement as he could tell that this fight would be a lot of fun.
"Albion. Balance Breaker. Let's see how strong this giant is." Vali said as his body was now covered in white armor while smiling at Chad, who looked more like a Berserker released from his chains.
"You'll pay," Chad said as he grunted at Vali before charging at him, which excited the White Dragon Emperor as he flew in to clash with Chad.
"Now, come at me!" Vali shouted as the two met in the middle, with Vali delivering deadly punches to Chad while the giant blocked said punches with his right arm which made a loud clanging sound as each hit Chad's shield.
[Divide!]
[Divide!]
[Divide!]
[Divide!]
[Divide!]
Chad could feel his strength leave his body as he kept blocking Vali's punches until Vali moved away from Chad.
"Come on. Don't tell me that's all your capable of. Could you show me what the left arm can do? I want to see what you're truly capable of, so come at me with everything you got! Anything less is boring." Vali declared as he flew into the sky and began to unleash his version of Dragon Shot, but Chad could feel the force through the shield that each one of them was more powerful than the last.
Chad was so overwhelmed by the barrage of attacks he failed to see Vali coming hot and stomping Chad into the ground.
Vali then got off of Chad as the aura around the giant became even more significant, which excited Vali more until Chad's eyes glowed emerald green while his muscles bulged with power.
"Hm. It seems you can harness more Senjutsu than the average human normally can. I'll have to keep enjoying this fun game some more." Vali said in excitement as Chad roared like a beast that released powerful sonic waves which impressed the White Dragon Emperor before Chad raised his left arm and prepared to strike Vali.
"YES! Show me what that is capable of!" Vali said as he let his guard down and took the punch to his chest, which managed to dent his armor until Chad whispered in the air.
"La Muerte."
Vali then felt the force behind the punch as he flew back a couple of miles due to the decisive blow from the giant. Chad roared in rage as he charged toward the White Dragon Emperor, leaving Orihime and Tatsuki behind while Tatsuki was doing some soul-searching of her own.
"... up."
'Hm? Who's saying that?' Tatsuki asked herself as she tried to comprehend what had happened until she felt the voice speak to her again.
"... take up."
'Who are you?'
Tatsuki was only met with silence for a bit until she felt something slap her face.
"WAKE UP!"
"Son of a-!" Tatsuki yelled as she looked up and around to see that she was in a pasture-like landscape while seeing a massive red dragon before her eyes.
"H-Holy shit! Who the fuck are you?" Tatsuki asked. The Dragon didn't reply but stared into the girl's soul before turning away and leaving the girl alone.
"Hey! Don't walk away from me. Where the hell am I, and who the fuck was that guy?" Tatsuki yelled as she demanded answers until a voice stopped her.
"You in your soul. In between life and death due to the White Dragon Emperor killing you." The voice said as Tatsuki turned around to see a beautiful woman with long wavy blonde hair decorated with a head accessory and light green eyes. She also wore a light purple dress that covered her divine breasts, which made Tatsuki's mind wander as she could imagine herself with a pair like that.
"Holy shit, you're stacked. If Issei saw you, he'd probably call you a Goddess." Tatsuki said before her mind registered what she had just said, which resulted in her face becoming crimson red, making the woman laugh at the comment Tatsuki said about her until she spoke to the girl.
"Aw. I'm flattered you and your friend would've liked to see me. Perhaps you can introduce me to him someday. It's so cute. Your such a little pervert." The woman said as Tatsuki screamed internally at what she said before her head was brought into the woman's heavenly bust.
"We don't have much time to talk, so I'll make this quick. You are slowly dying right now, and if you don't accept my offer, you will be dead for good." The woman said as Tatsuki looked through a mirror to see Chad battling Vali in his Berserker rage until Orihime collapsed and clutched to broken pieces of a clip.
"W-What? Then how do I get back? How?!" Tatsuki asked as she looked up at the woman's face before the woman kissed her lips which made Tatsuki blush at the thought of her first kiss being taken by this woman until she felt power enter her being.
Tatsuki felt like she was becoming more robust but different at the same time.
"W-What's happening to me?"
"Your body accepted my offer, and now you are healing. However, there are some consequences to this deal."
"What kind of consequences?"
"Simply put, your body lost so much blood, and your heart was crushed as well as your left arm, which means that I had to put so much more power of Ddraig inside of you that you could live. You're a humanoid dragon now. Sixty percent human but forty percent dragon." The woman said as Tatsuki felt her body become stronger until she looked at the bombshell before her and asked.
"But even with I'm still no match for that guy. How am I supposed to beat him?"
"Unlock your Balance Breaker."
"Okay, but what is Balance Breaker? That guy said it to me, but I didn't understand what he meant."
"That's because you haven't heard Ddraig call to you. He's been trying to get in touch with you ever since the battle in the Soul Society ended, but due to your stubbornness and pride in your strength, you've been pushing Ddraig away as he tried to assist you. In a way, you're just like the members of Squad Eleven. Only caring about yourselves getting stronger and not caring about working with others. And before you say anything to deny it, I've seen your memories." The woman said as she revealed a massive image above her with Tatsuki standing victorious over others she defeated in a Karate Tournament.
This image made Tatsuki swell up in pride as she liked what she saw until a hand smacked the back of her head.
"Ow! What was that for?"
"Proving my point. You reek of pride, a common trait in a dragon, but it's also why you'll never get stronger. You just like that boy Ichigo Kurosaki was at first."
"What do you mean I was like Ichigo at first?"
"Ichigo didn't know anything about his Zanpakto besides the name of his blade, but that wasn't enough for him to defeat Kenpachi. He had to truly understand and work with Zangetsu to understand himself and his partner better. Soul Reapers and Zanpaktos are meant to be partners until the end, but many of the Soul Reapers that we've seen in our time have neglected their partners for so long they basically abandon them or even forget their names. It's happened more times than you think. Trust me." The woman said as she, had a sorrowful look on her face as if she had met many of the people she was talking about until the face looked back up at Tatsuki.
"Do not push Ddraig away and listen to him. He's been in the Boosted Gear far longer than you've been alive, so let him in and help you. And when you do accept Ddraig, then I'll tell you who I am." The woman said as she tapped Tatsuki's chest with a single finger before she sent her flying into the void, making the woman chuckle at Tatsuki's frightened expression until the Dragon spoke to her.
[You didn't have to interfere, Elsha. You know that girl is like me when I was a hatchling and thought I was invincible.] Ddraig said as he puffed out some smoke until Elsha walked towards him and rubbed a hand on his scales.
"I know, but I also know that you didn't want to go through all this again. I think Tatsuki can truly help you and accept you. Granted, she was like you when you were a jerk, but that means she can learn from you if you give her one more chance. That's all I ask." Elsha said as Ddraig sighed to himself before he slowly nodded his head.
[I understand, Elsha. I'll try to speak to her, but if she continues pushing me away, it's on you.]
"I know. I'll make sure that Tatsuki listens to you." Elsha said as she walked back to her private room in the Boosted Gear while Ddraig looked at the flames, which showed him the outside world, and sighed.
[Sometimes, I wish I could genuinely fly and be free.] Ddraig said as he felt melancholic while wondering if he could enjoy life again if he had his body back.
If only he knew that there was someone who could give him what he wanted.
Freedom.
Tatsuki groaned as she woke up to see that the hole in her chest was gone, and her arm regenerated until she saw Chad flying back into a wall that left him weak and unable to fight back as his aura began to recede into his body.
"Not bad. I'll admit that I was amazed that you could do so well against me in my Balance Breaker form. You truly have amazing potential to become a powerful foe." Vali said as he looked to see that Tatsuki was standing back up with her left arm fully healed and the hole in her chest.
"Oh? Are you still alive? That's a surprise since I didn't sense dragon abilities within your body. Must've missed it when I killed you." Vali said as he prepared to face Tatsuki until he looked at Chad and continued walking towards the giant before pulling out a piece of paper and writing on it.
"I can tell you've got a lot of potential, Chad, which is why I want to help you. Give Yoruichi Shionin this note and tell her Lucifer is cashing in his favor." Vali said as he placed the note in Chad's shirt pocket before patting the guy's head and letting him fall asleep as he succumbed to his injuries and weariness.
Vali nodded to the giant and thanked him for a great battle until he turned to see Tatsuki boosting herself ten times which mildly impressed Vali before he sped into her and clashed with her with punches which somewhat surprised the White Dragon Emperor as he could tell that Tatsuki was competent in karate and judo. Still, when it came down to power and experience, Vali was superior to her, which led to Vali tiring out the Red Dragon Empress until Vali could pin her to a building wall next to them.
Tatsuki gasped for air while trying to pry the hand off her neck until Vali let her go.
"Right now, you're weak. You may have some power, but compared to the more powerful beings in the world, you don't even make the Top hundred. You are in the Top five hundred, so if you wish to rise and get stronger, you'll have to listen for Ddraig. He's your partner, and if you want to understand your power better, talk to him." Vali said before walking away from her.
"I hope you are stronger the next time we see each other again. Farewell for now, Tatsuki Arisawa. Oh, but there is one more thing I should mention. An enemy is hiding in your city, so I should watch them closely." Vali said as he then teleported away from the scene. The rain began to fall while Tatsuki gripped the ground under her as she hated herself for being too weak to save her friends.
"Do I even deserve this power? How strong have I become? Am I even worthy of the Dragon's power if I can't hear his voice?" Tatsuki cried as he felt tears leave her eyes while sinking into sadness as she lamented herself for being selfish and not understanding Ddraig.
"Please, Ddraig. Please forgive me for being a terrible partner that neglected you. Give me another chance, and I'll prove I can be a better partner worthy of you. I'm sorry." Tatsuki said as she felt her eyes slowly close while missing a glimpse of a cloak appearing before her body.
[...Hello Tatsuki Ariasawa. My name is Y Ddraig Goch. It's a pleasure to speak to you finally.]
Thus the path to power has been opened by the rain washing away the pride of the foolish girl as the Dragon begins to open up to his host again.
The Next Day...
"So you're telling me that the three of you got your asses handed to you by a kid named Vali Lucifer?" Kisuke asked as Tessai continued to patch up the kids while Tatsuki nodded in reply.
"Yeah. He nearly killed me, too, after he toyed with me. I think I would've been dead if it weren't for that woman I saw in limbo."
"Ah. It seems you met a past host of the Boosted Gear." Kisuke said as he poured himself some tea. "The Boosted Gear had had many different users in the past before you obtained it, and there is a chance for you to have met one of them. And the woman you described fits Elsha. She was the strongest Female Boosted Gear user and was not to be underestimated. Elsha could take down armies alone with Ddraig at her side; she became a great legend and saved many lives when she was the Red Dragon Empress."
"Really? Woah. I wonder if I'll ever get that strong someday."
"It depends on your growth. The Boosted Gear has Ddriag inside, so if you want to get stronger, you'll have to strengthen the bond between you and Ddriag himself. After yesterday, you were finally able to establish a connection to Ddriag. Unfortunately, this bond is weak and can be broken again unless you take your training seriously." Kisuke said as Tatsuki nodded, realizing she couldn't rely on her karate and judo skills to beat her opponents.
Meanwhile, Chad was speaking to Yoruichi, who was annoyed at the note before sighing to herself.
"That arrogant brat. Heh. I always knew that brat would cash in that favor sooner or later." Yoruichi said as she then looked at Chad. "Kid. For your summer, you are heading to Kyoto to see an old friend, and trust me when I say they'll whip you into shape. Oh, and I hope you like cute animals since there are a lot of Youkai there. Including cute animal girls."
Chad's heart felt warm as he imagined a cute animal to pet and talk to since the giant was a big fan of cute animals like dogs, cats, and foxes. He always wanted a pet but couldn't afford one, so he was okay with admiring and helping them when they needed a home.
Yoruichi snickered at Chad's response until she looked at Orihime, who was trying to put Tsubaki together, until the Shionin Heiress stopped her.
"I'm sorry for your loss, but Tsubaki is broken beyond repair that not even your healing technique could save him now."
"B-But he's my only way to fight. Without him, I can't-"
"Fight?"
Orihime nodded sheepishly, as she knew she wasn't strong like Ichigo and her friends, which stung her due to her inability to do anything to help them in combat besides healing.
"I-I just...I want to prove I'm not some weak little girl who needs protecting. I want to fight, so can't you teach me?" Orihime asked Yoruichi, who was a bit concerned for the girl until she saw the determination in the girl's eyes. Yoruichi sighed in reply.
"Okay. I can teach you if you want to learn how to fight."
"Yay!"
"But under one condition," Yoruichi said as Orihime looked at her Sensei in shock until the dark-skinned woman explained.
"You'll have to spend your summer in the Soul Society. That way, you can learn how to fight with your fists and learn how to defend yourself against your foes. However, you're a human, which means your power will be limited, but with your skills, Unohana can also teach you Kido and help you become excellent support for the upcoming war. That is why I'll also call Unohana to assist you. Do we have a deal, Orihime?" Yoruichi asked as the human pondered her choices before nodding in reply.
"Okay. I'll do it. Plus, the good news is that summer is coming soon, so I can start training soon." Orihime said as Yoruichi could see that the princess wanted to get stronger and not be a pushover, so she was proud of the girl for growing up a little.
Ichigo was panting as he took a hiatus from the sparring match he had just had with Mashiro, who could deal severe damage to him despite having such a small body.
"Damn. Remind me never to underestimate Mashiro again." Ichigo panted as Shinji walked over to him and chuckled in reply.
"Yeah. Most people underestimate Mashiro due to her personality, but deep down, she's a tiger in battle. It still astounds me that she can be in her Hollow form for a whole day." Shinji said as Ichigo slowly exited his resting place and readied himself for another training match.
"Thanks for the tip. That'll be helpful." Ichigo said as he charged into battle, with Mashiro cracking her neck and getting ready to play with Ichigo again.
Shinji watched this from the sidelines as Hiyori walked beside Shinji and asked.
"You didn't tell him, did you? About the attack on his friends yesterday evening?"
"The kid needed to rest after the beating from yesterday, so I made sure he didn't notice it. Besides, the targeted individual was the girl who wielded the Crimson Dragon of Domination. However, it looks like she'll be on her way to getting stronger now that she's begun to accept the Boosted Gear and Ddraig. I hope we don't get any more surprise visits from the other supernatural factions. It'll be a pain to deal with them, especially due to the fragile peace treaty between the Soul Society and the Biblical Faction." Shinji recalled the bloody war and the many lives that died while fighting the supernatural forces of the three factions that had some of the most influential and intelligent people in the world.
"Yeah. It makes me wish I was still unaware of their existence because after going up against some of them in the war, I'm terrified of their leader's presence alone." Hiyori said as she held in her fear while recalling the influential leaders of each of the factions and the destruction they were capable of.
"Well, then, we'll just have to wait and see, so should that day come, we'll be ready," Shinji said as he saw Ichigo fly into the wall.
"Hey, Ichigo, you're not supposed to get sent flying into the wall."
"Shut it, Shinji! You try fighting her!"
"No thanks. I'm good."
"Come on, Ichi! Let's have some more fun!" Mashiro said as she began to chase Ichigo around the warehouse.
"Oh, hell no!"
Uryu began panting as he kept firing more and more arrows at the targets he was fighting, as well as his father, who didn't seem fazed in the slightest.
"You can do better than that. Come on!" Ryuken said as he fired more and more arrows at Uryu, who smirked at the challenge and continued the battle.
"Alright then. Let's get this party started, shall we?" Issei asked as he readied his strings and chains while Curruci smiled in glee while spinning her wheel some more as Kaguya readied her bow and lance. Meanwhile, Entei was beside her master to assist him in the battle to earn their respect.
"Show me what you got, human."
"Indeed. Readying myself for a prognosis on the subject of Issei Hyoudou. Show us all you are capable of."
Entei merely smiled as she looked at her master and nodded in reply.
"I am ready as well, my lord. Let's show these fools how strong you truly are!" Entei shouted as her wings appeared while Issei smiled at his partner.
"Then let's begin!" Issei said as he charged at Curruci while Entei headed towards Kaguya and began the battle.
"And so it begins. Everyone seems to be planning for the summer break, so I'll need to start my plans." Aika said as she touched the brim of her glasses and transformed into a bird before heading to an abandoned warehouse on the city outskirts and opening the door to reveal an unconscious person tied to a chair with a bag over their head.
The bag was then pulled off to reveal a mop of crimson hair on top of a woman before Aika looked at the unconscious woman as a figure walked in on her.
"So, is the plan underway? Did the Devils receive the message?" Aika asked as the figure behind her revealed a screen that showed a particular group of Devils appearing at the Kuoh Town train station.
"Good. Now we can begin the next phase of the plan because once I'm done with them, the Soul Society and the Devil Faction will have no choice but to destroy each other." Aika said in glee as she then looked at her necklace before smiling at the picture.
"Soon, sister. Soon we'll get our revenge on those who wronged us." Aika said as she kissed the photo, getting started on her fun.
