"I haven't been to a park in years." Padme's words echoed in Vader's head as he stood by her bedroom door. It had been a week since he took Padme to the park, and Vader was distressed. He knocked on the double doors, and spoke. "Padme." When he didn't hear a response he repeated. "Padme,Padme., Padme. Open the door. Open the door please. Open the door Padme, we need to have a conversation. Padme! If you don't respond in the next minute, I'm coming in! Padme!"
"I wish you wouldn't call me that! Padme yelled, flinging the door open. "What do you want now?" She asked, her brown eyes blazing.
"Good to see you." Vader replied, calmly. "Please, let me in." Padme, sighed, huffed, and stepped aside. Vader quickly entered the room, and closed the door.
He stood in front of Padme who had her arms crossed across her chest. "You want to speak? Speak." Padme said, glaring at him.
"A conversation requires 2 people, and that is what we are going to have."
"You can't force me to talk to you."
"You haven't uttered a word to me in a week. You spoke to me at the park, and then suddenly, nothing. Why? I have delivered your every meal to this room, and made sure you ate every meal."
"I didn't ask you to monitor or babysit me! Stop! Now!"
"If you didn't act like a child, I wouldn't have to!" Padme blinked, Vader saw the sadness in her eyes but he continued. "Padme, I am disturbed, disoriented, puzzled, upset! I do not like it! Normally I know what to do! I am in control! I am focused! I am Darth Vader!"
"That's my fault?"
"You won't talk to me! What did I do? What new reasons do you have to be angry with me? What crimes did I commit?" Tell me!" Vader screamed.
"I don't know! I don't know! I don't know you! I live with you! I don't know anything about you!" Padme screamed back. She sank to the floor. put her face in her hands, and sobbed, softly.
"Come with me." Vader said, after a few moments. Padme ignored him, and continued to sob "Please, come with me." Padme removed her hands from her face, and looked at Vader. She found his outstretched hand. "Please, come with me." Vader repeated, searching Padme's brown eyes. After several minutes, Padme took Vader's hand. and he gently pulled her up off the floor. Together, they slowly walked out of Padme's bedroom in silence.
Vader led Padme to the outdoor enclosure, the place where he presented her with the gold medallion of Naboo. The first time Padme was in the outdoor enclosure, it was so dark. she hadn't noticed the pool in the middle of the enclosure, now with sunlight coming through it was all she could focus on. "Come on," She heard Vader say again. Her eyes left the water as Vader guided her to the table. When she sat down, Vader pushed in her chair. Her eyes followed him as he sat across from her. "What do you want to know about me?" Vader asked, staring at her.
"I don't know,"Padme whispered.
"I am 20 years old. I am a Sith. I am very skilled in me something about you, you think I don't know."
"I have been away from my family for a very long time. I think, I was 9 when I was taken away."
"To serve your people." Vader finished.
"I didn't say that." She paused for a second. "I have an older sister. I miss her." Do you have a family?'
"No", Vader answered quickly. "You and I are more alike than you think, Padme."
"You don't know what I think, Vader." Padme pushed her chair out with her feet. She stood."Just because you took me here to live with you, and you walked me through a panic attack doesn't mean you know me, Vader!" She screamed. I "knew you were a Sith!" She said, running into the house.
