Alright time to officially start Ash's journey. Last chapter was Ash meeting and bonding his Pikachu as a Pichu now it's time for his journey to begin. Now I not sure how long each region will be just note they may be shorter than expected. Also do you want Brock and Misty to travel in this story or should he travel by himself.

E3roa: I am going straight to Pikachu, the first chapter was just for Ash to bond with his partner, and what inspired him to master electric type. Also, I felt it would be nice to see Ash care for his Pikachu as a Pichu. Also, the limit for foreign Pokémon for Ash to catch is 2 electric types for different regions, except the fossil Pokémon from Galar or Pawmi as I would like to wait till Scarlet and Violet come out. He doesn't really need Eelektross right away as he could teach his Pokémon Magnet Rise. Though if Eelektross does receive enough votes he'll get one. Ash can eventually get the electric type legendries just not so early in his journey.

Alright get back to the story.

The sun's rays peaked through the room brightening it, as well as waking up the sleeping Ash. Ash yawned as he stretched his arms, looking at the time he noticed he woken one minute before the alarm was set to go off. He turned off the alarm and went to brush his teeth.

"Pichu wake up its time for breakfast." Ash called out from the bathroom.

From the blankets, a yellow mouse with red cheeks, and lightning bolt shaped tail awoke. He stretched and yawn as he rubbed the drowsiness out of his eyes.

"What the?" Ash said, as he exited the bathroom.

"Pika?" Pikachu squeaked confused.

Ash then ran up to the mouse, with a shocked expression on his face. "Pichu?" He asked.

"Pika!" Pikachu cheerful replied, while nodding.

Ash's shocked expression morph in one full of joy. "Alright!" He cheered.

(Few Moments Later)

Delia was in the kitchen making some breakfast, today would be the day her son would go off on his journey. Oh, how she would miss her son, but she knew this is what he wanted. Still, she knew he would be safe with Pichu at his side. She then heard her son shout out loud, good the means he wouldn't sleep. The sound of rustling could be heard, as her son could be heard running down the stairs.

"Mom, mom!" Ash called out as he ran into the kitchen.

"What is it?" Delia asked.

"Look." Ash replied pointing at the door.

Pikachu suddenly rushed through, as he hoped onto Ash's shoulders.

"A Pikachu, is that?" Delia asked now understanding why her son was even more excited.

"Yup Pichu evolved into Pikachu isn't that great." Ash answered.

Delia smiled as she scratched Pikachu's ears. "Well, I'll make sure to put extra ketchup on your food to celebrate this special occasion." Delia said, causing Pikachu to cheer.

Everyone then sat down and enjoyed the food Delia made. Once Ash was done, went upstairs to get ready, once he was done changing, he grabbed his prized hat and walked down stairs. He promised to call his mother once he reached Viridian City. Delia told him see would see him off Prof. Oak's lab. Pikachu then hoped onto Ash as the two took off for Prof. Oak's lab. Once he arrived, he noticed two Gary coming out of the lab.

"Well, well if it isn't Ash-Boy." Gary said as he came out.

"Hey I assumed you got your Pokémon." Ash replied.

Grinning Gary held the a Pokéball in high in the air, "Yes I got the last one, I best you won't guess which one I choose." He said, smugly.

"Squirtle?" Ash responded, causing the grin Gary had to drop.

"How did you know?" Gary muttered.

"I got ears, and you weren't exactly secretive on which starter you wanted. Too bad you Squirtle won't stand a chance against my Pikachu." Ash replied, pointing to Pikachu.

"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu cheered.

Gary now noticing Pikachu on Ash's shoulder was dumbfounded.

"What Pichu evolved?" He questioned.

"Yup guess that means you're behind me." Ash continued.

Gary frown, he was already annoyed since Ash had a Pokémon before him, now his starter evolved.

"Whatever, I'll catch up, and then you'll be the one chasing after me." Gary said before taking off.

Now that Gary was gone, Ash walked in the lab, where Prof. Oak was waiting.

"Good morning, Prof. Oak." Ash said, walking in.

"Ah Ash right on time." Prof. Oak replied with a smile. Since Ash had a Pokémon already, he didn't need to get one from Prof. Oak. Instead, he came to get his Poké balls, and Pokédex.

"A Pikachu, well I had a feeling was ready to evolve." Prof. Oak commented. "Hey are you Pokéball, and you're Pokédex which also doubles as your trainer ID."

"Thanks Prof. Oak." Ash replied.

"No problem, now I know you said you're planning on specializing on Electric Pokémon. As you know Electric Pokémon enjoy hanging around abandon factories or electric power plants, the closest one is an abandon one near Pewter City. That would be your best bet." Prof. Oak answered.

"Thanks professor." Ash thanked.

Just before was about to leave, he heard Prof. Oak clear his throat

"Perhaps you would like to scan Pikachu with your Pokédex, you could learn something new about him." Prof. Oak suggested.

"Good idea" Ash replied, as he took out his Pokédex.

Pikachu, the Mouse Pokémon, and the evolved form of Pichu, an electric type. Pikachu's tail is sometimes struck by lightning as it raises it to check its surrounding. This Pikachu, and has the ability Lightning Rod. Pikachu's moves are: Tail Whip, Thunder Shock, Nuzzle, Nasty Plot, Charm, Thunder Wave and Quick Attack. Pikachu also possess the egg Volt Tackle that has not been unlocked yet.

Pikachu smirked, as he heard the Pokédex list off his moves. Ash nodded, as good variety of moves, but the was plenty of room for improvement.

"Okay since the first gym is in Pewter City, I think we should work on Iron Tail, since they specialize in rock types." Ash said, getting Pikachu to nod.

"A good idea Ash, but I would recommend teaching Grass Knot and Surf, along with Magnet Rise, since many rock type in Kanto also carry the ground type." Prof. Oak suggested.

"Great idea professor." Ash said.

With that done, Ash said his goodbye to Prof. Oak and as he stepped out, he saw several people from his neighborhood, and his mom waiting for him.

"Mom what's this?" Ash asked with a smile.

"Everyone here wanted to see you off, and cheer you on." Delia answered as several held up a banner.

"Wow, thanks everyone I promise to make you all proud." Ash thanked.

After Ash gave his mom one last hug, and Pikachu nuzzled her cheek, the duo took off, as everyone cheered.

(A few minutes later)

Once Ash reached the outskirts of Pallet, he decided to conserve his energy, and began walking. As Ash walked, he to the opportunity to like through Pokédex, finding all of its functions and utilities. The Pokédex showed all of the electric types that could be found in Kanto. Aside from the Pichu line, Voltorb, Magnemite, and Elekid along with their evolved forms could be found in Kanto, other than that Jolteon and Zapdos were the only Kanto native electric types left. This meant he would either need to catch a duplicate of one line, find a foreign Pokémon in the wild, or perhaps go to another region for a short time and catch one more electric type. He also had the option of catching a nonelectric type just filling up his 6th slot. There was an option of going to the league with 5 Pokémon, but the odds wouldn't be in his favor.

"Pika?" Pikachu squeaked, catching Ash's attention.

"Sorry buddy, I was just looking on what we should start on. Since electric are one of the rarest types. I think our best bet would be to work on our moves, and spend some time looking for an Eevee." Ash explained, since even though Eevee were rare as well they don't live abandon factories or power plants unless they were a Jolteon. In fact, most Eevee habitats were similar to Pikachu's prefer environments.

As they walked for a few hours Ash's legs were beginning to tire out. So, he decided it was time for a break. Looking around he found a good spot, that had some rocks for them to sit on. He first made sure to fill up Pikachu's bowl, then he grabbed a sandwich for himself. Before he left Prof. Oak taught him some recipes that were best for Electric Pokémon, and his mom taught him a few simple dishes to make on the road. Once their lunch was done, they decided it was time to work on Iron Tail. While Surf or Grass Knot would to more damage at the first gym, Iron Tail was the easiest to learn. So, they decided to work by strengthening Pikachu's Tail by tying a large rock to it. The Pikachu would begin to lift it, building strength. The did this exercise till Pikachu's tail was too sore to continue. After that Ash decided to work on another quick and easy move to learn, Rock Smash.

They practice this attack by repeatably having Pikachu punch either a tree or boulder. Once Pikachu was too tired to train, they decided to see if they could find an Eevee or some kind electric type. After an hour of searching to no avail they decided to continue making their way to Viridian City. As they continued to walk, they noticed the sky growing dark.

"Looks like it could rain." Ash said, before taking out his Pokédex. "According to the Pokédex, it says were expecting a thunder storm." Ash informed.

This posed an interesting solution, since Eletric Pokémon were know time from to gather in an open field in order to absorb electricity from lightning strikes. However, naturally this would be dangerous if they decided to go into open field during a thunderstorm. Not to mention Pikachu's ability guaranteed he would be struck. Still, this would be their best chance at finding a teammate this early. Ash looked at Pikachu who was also deep, likely having the same thought.

"What do you think Pikachu, should we risk it?" He asked his trusted partner.

Pikachu looked at Ash and nodded. Even if they went to the abandon power plant or factory there would no guaranty of finding another teammate. By braving the storm, they could be rewarded with another team member. Plus having a 2nd member increases their chance of winning at the first gym.

"Pika, Pika." Pikachu said, with a thumbs up.

Sighing, Ash knew this would their best bet. If they were going to do this insane idea, they were going to need to take every precaution. The first they were going to do was find a cave, they planned to stay in the cave and wait out the worst of the storm, then and only then would they look for an electric type. Then he made sure Pikachu knew if lightning appeared a struck him, and Ash felt it was too much, he wouldn't hesitate to return him to the Pokéball. Pikachu reluctantly agreed to this, as much as he hated the idea of going inside his ball. While Pikachu and other electric types enjoyed soaking up electricity, especially in an electric storm absorbing to much electricity was not good for them, and would become dangerous. Finally, Ash place on the rubber gloves and soles his mother provided him. These gloves were specifically design to resist as much electricity as possible. Since electric types can produce a lot of power.

Once they were done, they scoped out a clear area out, Pikachu made sure to keep a good distance from Ash just in case the storm happened earlier than planned. Ash made sure to stay to low hanging trees. Once they found an ideal area, they quickly scoped the area out to look for any electric Pokémon that was waiting for the storm. At the moment there were no signs of any. Sighing, Ash and Pikachu went back to the cave, where they waited. And after they were inside the storm started, and the rain poured down hard.

They thankfully grabbed sticks before, and started a fire and waited out the worst of it. While they were waiting the storm, they told the opportunity to looked at the Pokédex for plan. After facing Brock their best bet, would be to head to Cerulean City, after that they would go to Vermillion City. Ash could help but grin, Vermillion City was home to Lt Surge, and electric gym leader. That would be fun, and maybe they could get some tips. After that Saffron City, and Celadon City would be next. From there Fuchsia, and maybe Cinnabar Island would be their next place to hit. Finally, they would end with Viridian City. After that they would train in Pallet till in would time to make their way for the Indigo League.

Once their pathway was laid out, the storm was beginning to dye down. After a few more minutes the sun's rays began to shine, know this was their chance they took off at full speed. As they got closer to the spot, they began noticing some signs something had pass through. This was good most would've taken shelter from the storm, except electric types. As they got to the clearing, their patient paid off, as they could see a Pokémon in the distance.

It was a yellow round-bodied Pokémon, with black stripes, an Elekid. 'This is perfect.' Ash thought. The Elekid line were known for learning a large variety of moves.

Elekid seemed to pick up on their present, and turned around facing them. Pikachu jumped off of Ash's shoulders, and stood on all fours his cheeks sparking. Seeing the Elekid got ready, it seemed it wanted to fight.

"Pikachu use Quick Attack." Ash began.

"Pika!" Pikachu shouted as he ran on all fours towards Elekid, with a trail of light behind him.

Seeing Pikachu coming at him, Elekid also ran forward with trail of light behind him. It seems Elekid was using his own Quick Attack. The two collided, as they struggled to knock the other of balanced.

"Pikachu use Thunder Shock." Ash continued.

"Pika Chu!" Pikachu grunted as he shocked Elekid.

Elekid grunted in pain, before release his own Thunder Shock. However, his was easily more powerful thanks to the lightning he absorbed. But thanks to Lightning Rod, Pikachu didn't take any damage. Ash ordered Pikachu to keep having Elekid to use its electricity till he ran out. Pikachu nodded he used Nasty Plot as a way of taunting Elekid into attacking. After a whiling Elekid ran out, and swapped over to Quick Attack but thanks to all the power up, Pikachu receive a single Thunder Shock knocked Elekid out.

Using the opportunity Ash threw the Pokéball, which bounced off of Elekid, before wiggling. Soon a ping could be heard, confirming the capture. Ash grabbed the Pokéball and holding it high up into thew air celebrate. Pikachu joined in on the cheering. However, something caught their attention, a beautiful rainbow appeared, as a large bird flew over it. Ash and Pikachu were in awe. Suddenly a feather fell down, and landed in Ash's hand. Seeing the feather Ash and Pikachu took this as sign good things were to come. Deciding to was time to continue to make their way to Viridian City, Ash collected his stuff before he and Pikachu continued their journey.

Alright, 2nd chapter done, Pichu evolved, and Ash caught his 2nd Pokémon let me know what you think.
