RKF22: Thank you.

NinjaFang1331: Thanks

Creativemind24: Glad you enjoyed the chapter. Also thank you for not spoiling what's in the egg.

Reader: A Dedenne egg maybe, or maybe not. I'm not doing items, as they don't always make sense in storytelling. Plus, other than a few items we've never seen most of them, let an alone a trainer using them other that mega stones, and z crystals. Vasquez and Sho could be interesting to write.

CrimsonStarBlade: Yamper huh, could be, or could be something else. I do remember the episode of Puka, and while I don't think it was foreshowed since Pokémon wasn't expected to last this long, I'd say they did use it as inspiration. As far as the potato idea, it wouldn't surprise me if they do.

So, I not sure how long Kanto will be just note it will most likely be shorter that the rewrites for a season. Since no one commented on Misty and Brock, Ash will travel alone. Now since Pikachu can evolve into a Alolan Raichu that form will be used when I eventually do the psychic series. That being said, that means Pikachu will have to evolve. That being said, since I been wanting to do a full story with Pikachu evolving into Kantonian Raichu. And will I know Pikachu has a variety of items and forms exclusive to his form, that doesn't mean I can't create exclusive forms or items for Raichu. And while some point out Pikachu can't evolve due to g-max, that never made sense to me as the journey series doesn't care about the Francise history unless when wants to. If g-max are exclusive to the Galar Reagon then how is he able to g-max aside from being one of the main characters. Even then the show hasn't used G-Max Pikachu since its debut. So, I this story will evolve into Kantonian Raichu and Alolan Raichu in the Alolan series. There will always be stories of Pikachu staying Pikachu, but how will there be of him evolving. While I will write Ash's other Pokémon evolving series, those are more going to be one shot rather than full fledge stories.

It has been two weeks since he left Viridian City since then Pikachu and Elekid had mastered Rock Smash. In addition, Pikachu managed to learn Iron Tail, along with Double Team Dig, and Electro Ball. Grass Knot was coming along be it would be a while till he master it. As for Elekid, alongside Rock Smash, he got Shock Wave down, along with Electro Ball, and Thunder Wave with Pikachu's help. To finish it off, Elekid managed to get Protect mastered. While he didn't get as much done as he hoped, he was confident he could take on the Pewter Gym tomorrow. Today he would give Pikachu and Elekid the day off to relax. He let them out so they could run around, as play while he relaxed and looked after the egg. Speaking if the egg, according to Nurse Joy it would soon be ready to hatch soon. He was excited a new team member and friend.

In between training, and resting he visited the hydro electrical plant in order to see if he could find another electric type to no avail. However, he did find something interesting something promising. There was a mysterious bright glow in the water. This could be sign of a potential electric type in the water. The reason for this is no water type native to Kanto could produce the same bright yellow light like the one he saw in the water. Over the years more and foreign Pokémon have made their home in the Kanto region. And he hopes the one he saw was an electric type.

After a few hours of relaxing, he decided it was time for dinner then some sleep. After a good night rest, Ash then got ready for the day. Once he was done, he headed straight to the gym. The gym had a pathway with large grey boulders on the side of it. Once inside Ash saw a field filled with large boulders all around it. Across the field he notices someone who looked to be in their teens waiting.

"What are you here for?" He asked.

"I'm here for a gym battle." Ash quickly answered.

"How many badges to you have?" Brock then asked.

The Pokémon League recently had been implementing some for beginning trainers depending on the number of badges challengers had would determine what Pokémon they would be battling. If a trainer was caught lying then there would be a punishment, then the earning of the badge would be revoked. He even heard some gym leaders would ban challengers. However, the were two gyms in Kanto that were immune to this rule. The Viridian Gym, and Commerce Gym, since they were considering the most powerful gyms among the 18 in Kanto.

"This is my first gym; I've only been a trainer for about three weeks." Ash replied receiving a nod.

"Very this will be a 2 on 2 battle, with only the challengers being able to switch Pokémon, the battle will be over when all of one side's Pokémon are unable to battle. Do you understand?" Brock said, as he laid out the rules.

Ash nodded, and Brock motion for someone to come over. This person who Ash guess was Brock's brother based on the resemblance took stance as the referee.

"Geodude let's rock." Brock called out, a brownish-grey boulder with two strong arms out.

"Elekid I choose you." Ash called out his first choice.

"Beebee!" Elekid grunted out, ready to fight.

Brock couldn't raise an eyebrow to Ash first choice. "You do know electric type have no effect on a ground by like Geodude." He asked.

"I'm aware, but as my goal is to become an electric specialist and I want to train my Pokémon to face all kinds of opponents including those with an advantage." Ash answered.

Brock couldn't help smile, at Ash's determinations. While the ref signal for the match to start.

"Elekid start off with Swift." Ash began.

"Beebee!" Elekid grunted as he fired several stars.

Seeing the incoming attack Brock told Geodude block the attack. Geodude crossed his armed, as the Swift struck, however didn't do much.

"Geodude use Rock Throw." Brock retaliated.

Geodude crossed his arms again, as pieces of rock appeared around Geodude. Geodude fired the rocks at Elekid, who brought up a barrier to block the attack. The Protect managed to prevented any rocks from striking Elekid, who fired back another series of Swift.

Brock's frown, as he tried to figure out, Ash's plan. Why did he keep firing Swift, when it clearly wasn't doing much.

"Geodude Defense Curl, then Rollout." Brock called out.

Geodude then curl up, as the Swift struck him, he then began spinning forward towards Elekid.

"Elekid head towards the boulder on your right, then jump out of the way." Ash called out.

Elekid nodded, as he went straight towards the large rock, and once Geodude was close enough, Elekid leaped out of the way, causing Geodude to struck the boulder stopping it in its tracks.

"Elekid use Rock Smash." Ash countered.

Elekid's hand glowed red, as he punched Geodude sending it through the boulder.

"Dude!" Geodude grunted as he was smashed through the boulder.

"Geodude!" Brock yelled out in concern.

"Hit it with Rock Smash again." Ash called out.

"Beebee." Elekid grunted as he struck Geodude again.

"Dude." Geodude groaned as he glowed blue, signaling the defense drop thanks to the Rock Smash.

"Clever his wanted Geodude to use Rollout. Then he had Elekid use Rock Smash, once Geodude missed." Brock observed.

"Elekid use another Rock Smash." Ash continued.

"Geodude use Sandstorm." Brock retaliated with.

Geodude spun around and soon the field was covered. Ash gritted his teeth; this wouldn't be good.

"Elekid do you want to keep battling?" Ash asked.

"Beebee." Elekid grunted with a nod.

Ash could barely see, but he was sure he saw a nodded.

"Okay then use a wide spread Swift." Ash continued.

"Beebee." Elekid grunted, as he fired several stars in all directions.

Ash, Elekid, and Pikachu all listened in carefully, for any signs of Geodude.

"Geodude use Rock Throw." Brock retaliated.

Geodude fired several rocks towards, Elekid who brought up the protective barrier in time.

"Elekid focus on where the rocks are coming from." Ash called out.

"Beebee." Elekid said, as he nodded.

He eyes narrowed on the directions of the rocks, and once the attack stopped, he sent more stars towards those directions.

"Geodude use another use Rock Throw." Brock ordered.

However, this time the rocks came from a different direction, as Elekid was pelted from behind.

"He must have moved when we didn't see." Ash theorized. "Elekid waited for it to attack then Quick Attack, then you know what to do." Ash then called out.

Elekid nodded, as he searched for any signs of for an attack. Finally, several rocks were fire and Elekid took off with a burst of speed. Elekid used the Quick Attack to weave and avoid, as he got closer, he noticed a shadow and clenched his fist. As it glowed orange he threw his fist and smashed it into Geodude.

"Dude!" Geodude yelled out in pain as he was flung back.

"No Geodude!" Brock called out in concern.

Geodude crashed into a boulder from falling onto the ground, with swirls in its eye.

"Geodude is unable to battle, Elekid win." The ref, Brock's younger brother announced, as the sandstorm ended.

"Way to go Elekid." Ash cheered.

"Pika Pika!" Pikachu also cheered.

"Bee." Elekid grunted with a proud smirk on his face, and giving them a thumbs up.

"Return Geodude you fought well." Brock said, returning his first choice. Looking at Ash he couldn't help but grin. 'The kid got potential; he'll no doubt go far.' Grabbing his another Pokéball, he released a large rock snake. "Let go Onix." He called out.

"Roar!" Onix roared, as he was let out.

Knowing Elekid wouldn't win in the shape he was in, Ash returned Elekid.

"Take a break, you earned it." Ash said, as he returned Elekid. Looking to his partner, Pikachu nodded, as he sprinted out on the field.

"Pikachu vs Onix, begin" Forest announced.

"Pikachu use Quick Attack." Ash began.

"Pika!" Pikachu squeaked, as he raced forward.

Having a feeling at what Ash was plaining, Brock to Onix to avoid it with Dig.

Onix burrowed into the ground, leaving a hole where he once stood. Knowing Pikachu would be a sitting Psyduck, Ash told Pikachu to use Dig as well then Double Team. Pikachu then burrowed into the ground after Onix. A series of roars and cries could barely be heard, as Pikachu was launched out of the ground and into the air. Onix then reappeared looking straight at the mouse.

"Great, Onix now use Bind." Brock continued.

"Roar!" Onix roared, prepared to grab Pikachu.

Ash knew it would be game over for Pikachu if he let that happen, quickly thinking about a defense he called, "Iron Tail, then Rock Smash."

"Pika." Pikachu squeaked, as his tail lit up.

As Onix swung its tail as Pikachu, Pikachu managed to avoid Onix coiling around him, and leaped towards his head. Pikachu then turn around and slammed his tail into Onix. Not letting up Pikachu, Pikachu's paw glowed as he punched Onix in the head, causing Onix to crash into a boulder. Pikachu landed on ground on all four, and made sure to get a good distance away from Onix.

"Onix, I know you can get up, show them your strength." Brock encouraged.

Hearing Brock's voice, Onix stirred as he arose from the rubble. Onix groaned as he shook his head, still feeling the pain from the two blows earlier.

"Onix use Dragon Breath." Brock ordered.

"Pikachu use Electro Ball." Ash defended.

Onix opened his mouth, and fired a green burst of flames, as Pikachu fired an orb of electricity. The two attacks collided created a smoke screen prevent either opponent from seeing the other. When the smoke cleared Pikachu was out of sight, causing both Brock and Onix to look around. Releasing Pikachu must have used Dig, Brock ordered Onix to use Slam on the ground. Suddenly the ground busted, both Onix could follow through, as a herd of Pikachu jumped out.

"Pikachu Iron Tail." Ash continued.

The group of Pikachu's tails glowed as the race towards Onix. Seeing the incoming assault, Brock had Onix use Rock Throw to disable the assault.

However, when Rock Throw was launched, as all, of the Pikachu had disappeared. Releasing his mistake, Brock was about to called another, only for Pikachu to jump out from the group, before slamming his tail into Onix. "Roar."

"Onix use Slam." Brock retaliated.

As Onix fell back, he manned to strike Pikachu with his tail launching Pikachu.

"Pikachu!" Ash cried out in worry.

"Pika." Pikachu groaned as got up, after getting slammed.

Onix was panting as he managed to rise, the hits he had taken already were taking their toll.

"Onix use Dragon Breath." Brock called out.

"Pikachu use Grass Knot." Ash cried out.

Pikachu's eyes glowed green, as two large blades of leaves sprouted, and wrapped around Onix. This caused the rock snake to tumble as he collapsed on the ground. Taking the opportunity Pikachu raced towards Onix with his tail and right paw glowing. Pikachu delivered another double blow, sending Onix collapsing, picking up a lot of dust. And once it settled Onix was down and out.

"Onix is unable to battle, Pikachu wins. And the victory goes to the challenger Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town." Forest announced.

"We did it buddy." Ash said, as he scoped Pikachu in his arms.

"Pika Pika!" Pikachu cheered.

Ash then released Elekid, as joined in on the celebrations. They then heard footsteps, and noticed Brock walking up to them, and with Forest who was holding a silver tray.

"Well done, despite the type disadvantage you still emerged victorious. As a gym leader type advantage isn't everything, and you proved it. It is my honor as the Pewter Gym Leader to present you the Boulder Badge." Brock stated, handing the silver octagon badge.

"Thank you, Brock." Ash said, present showing the badge to his Pokémon. "We did it guys, we earn the Boulder Badge."

"Pika!" Pikachu cheered.

"Beebee." Elekid grunted.

With the badge in his hands Ash went back to the Pokémon Center to get them treated. Once he appeared at the front desk, Nurse Joy was greeted him.

"How did your gym battle go?" She asked.

Grinning Ash proudly showed off his new badge, causing Nurse Joy to giggle.

"Well done, it must have been a tough battle." Nurse Joy, receiving a nod.

"It was but I knew my team could pull it off. By the way how is my egg." Ash asked, since he didn't risk something happening to the egg while at the gym.

"Your egg is perfectly fine; in fact, it should be ready to hatch any day now." She answered, handing him the egg.

But the moment the egg was back in Ash's arms, the egg was enveloped in a bright light. It was hatching right them and there. Placing the incubator on the ground, he lifted the glass top eagerly waiting to see his new teammate.

The light expanded before disappearing, revealing quadrupedal canine Pokémon. It had a brown body, with yellow fluff around the neck, and white fur on its paws and pace. The new Pokémon let out a yawn, and it stretch itself.

"Yamper." It barked out.

"What is it?" Ash asked.

"It a Yamper, and electric type from the Galar Region." Nurse Joy answered.

Kneeling down, Ash caught Yamper's attention, who turned to look at him. Extending his hand, Yamper sniffed Ash's hand, before pouncing on to Ash, as it began licking his face.

"Hey cut it out that tickles." Ash laughed, as Yamper continued to like his face.

Ash smiled seeing their new energetic member, now doubt this journey would be a fun one.

Well done CrimsonStarBlade for correctly guessing the Pokémon in the egg. I have an important question that not only involves this story, but the future Master of the Elements series. Should Ash catch Pokémon that are not the same type as the one he is going to master in. I'm only asking because for when I do the Dragon type, would it be fair for him to catch the Pokémon that gain the Dragon type. Because without Megas they wouldn't be dragons. If so, what should be the limitations. We've since people in the game and anime you specialize in one type use other types.
