The sound of conversation drew Pidge from the empty corridor that she had been wandering. The door was slightly ajar and as she looked inside she was in awe of what was inside.

A large room with vaulted ceilings and half the walls were made of glass. They opened up to the expanse of space, stars twinkling as far as she could see. It took her breath away.

She was drawn into the room and closer to the glass. She was completely unaware of what had drawn her into the room in the first place.

Across the room, the others paused mid conversation when Pidge entered the bridge. They continued to sit in silence as she walked across the room towards the glass, eyes wide with wonder.

Allura looked over at Lance who she found to be transfixed by Pidge. His eyes were shining and a ghost of a smile played on his lips. It was a wonder that the child-like expression could move Lance enough to tears. But then again the thought that was currently crossing Allura's mind was crossing his.

Maybe Pidge was wanting to remember, she just didn't know it consciously yet.

Hours later Pidge found herself wandering into the kitchen. The very pleasant smell of a fresh cooked meal drew her to the table. A steaming plate of food sat on the table in front of an empty chair. Why someone would leave such a delicious smelling plate unattended was beyond her. She sat in the chair, scooting it closer to the table, breathing in deeply the aroma of the meal.

She had just reached for a bite when a sound at the door to the kitchen drew her attention. Turning her attention to the doorway she found Lance standing there, a surprised expression on his face.

"Oh-"

"No it's okay!" Lance said snapping out of whatever had him frozen in place. "You can have it, there's more."

Pidge lowered herself back into the chair. "I didn't realize that this was anyone's."

Lance had started to prepare himself a plate and it wasn't long before he joined Pidge at the table.

"I shouldn't have left it unattended." Lance said, "How was your exploration of the castle?"

Pidge looked at him confused for a split second, her expression changed to a neutral look when she realized that she could wonder about what he meant later. "It's been fun so far." It was true it had been fun, but there had been bothering her the entire time. She couldn't figure out what it was, but the feeling that something was off had distracted her a good majority of the time.

"Did you get to see your lab-or what had been your lab?" Lance said, correcting himself mid sentence.

Pidge shook her head, as she swallowed a bite of food. She hadn't come across any labs in her exploration. "Where is it?"

Lance pointed with his fork at her plate, "Finish your food and I'll take you."

It was a short walk from the kitchen to the room that Lance had called 'her lab'. Pidge had been quiet the entire time, her mind flipping through the possibilities of what the lab looked like. It was a nervous excitement that flowed through her veins, and she had to restrain herself from bouncing with excitement when they stopped in front of the door.

It was a momentary pause while Lance entered the code to open the door. A hum of the mechanics and then the door was sliding open. Almost immediately Pidge's eyes landed on the desk a short distance from the door. Only a few pieces of paper littered the surface, while she wondered what their contents could be, her eyes locked onto the computer that was sitting on top. It was the same computer that had been in Lance's room. She had come so close to opening it, and she would have had Lance not come back when he did.

"You can go in." Lance said from behind her.

PIdge hadn't realized she had stopped in the doorway until Lance had said something. Suddenly the thought of her going in made her nervous. In all honesty she could see everything fine from the doorway, and she told Lance as much.

"Okay, that's fine," Lance made his way past her and into the lab. "Are you up to see something else?"

Pidge blinked at him, and for a split second her eyes flicked back to the computer sitting on the desk. The curiosity of what Lance had to show her weighed out that of the computer. "What is it?"

"You'll just have to see.," Lance replied with a wink.

"Oh my god…"

That's it. That's all Pidge could say as she stared at the mechanical blue lion sitting before her. The technology that came from the Altean world was thousands of years beyond earth's technology.

"I can't believe this! This is amazing!' Pidge said, suddenly finding her words.

"Would you like to see inside?" Lance asked. A smile graced his face, that sent butterflies swirling inside Pidges stomach.

Pidge nodded excitedly, her eyes shining so bright. The sight of her excitement made Lance's heart ache. If only she had never lost there memory, where would they be now? He mulled over his wandering thoughts as he showed Pidge the inside of his lion for the next half hour.

Lance had been showing Pidge the control panel when the alarms went off. With a few presses of buttons Lance had pulled up footage of what had triggered the castle alarms. A galra ship was fast approaching and it was getting close. Way to close.

"Shit." Lance said. He hopped up from the pilot's chair. He opened one of the many cabinet's and pulled out a paladin suit. It was a matter of seconds for him to pull it on.

"What's going on?" Pidge asked. Her focus switched from the surveillance footage to Lance who was securing his final piece of armor.

"Galra Attack." Lance replied. With helmet in hand, Lance set up the passenger seat secured to the wall. "Pidge, I need you to sit here."

Pidge complied. Once she was seated Lance strapped her in. She had a question on her lips when Lance spoke first.

"Any questions you have will have to wait till after." Lance then retreated to the pilot's chair, he pressed the buttons for the comms. He fitted his helmet over his head.

Pidge could only listen as Lance and the others conversed battle strategy. When Lance and his lion launched into space, Pidge squeezed her eyes shut as her stomach dropped. The roar of the blue lion echoed in her chest a surreal feeling that filled her moments before the fighting started.

The lions from what Pidge could see destroyed a good amount of the smaller ships that the main ship had sent out. The castle behind them activated their particle barrier, and fired a couple blasts of their own.

Seconds later the lions were attacking the main ship. A series of blasts broke from the ship letting them know that their aim was true.

'Shit."

Pidge heard Keith's voice crackle over the comms. She turned just in time to see a glowing purple ring extend from the main ship.

"Brace yourselves." Shiro's voice said.

Pidge choked on a scream as her hands tightened on her seatbelts, her knuckles turning white.

Seconds later the purple light filled her vision and everything went black.
