With Gibbs boat still in his basement, he invited Tony and Kami over for dinner. He had a special surprise for Kami. As Tony and Jethro ate their steaks and Kami was eating her pizza, Jethro popped the question.
"Kami, how would you like to help Papa work on his boat?" he asked.
Kami's eyes widened before she nodded yes. As they finished dinner, Tony took the plates.
"You guys go on down to the basement, I will clean up and be down there shortly." He said as he cleared the table.
Kami skipped behind her Papa Gibbs until they came to the door going into the basement.
"You can't skip down the stairs, you would fall and hurt yourself." Gibbs explained to the young child.
He opened the door and Kami gently walked down each step before approaching the boat Gibbs had been working on. Gibbs picked up the sanding tool and motioned for Kami to come closer. He placed the tool in her hand.
"Ok so the first thing you want to know about sanding a boat is you go with the grain." Gibbs said as he gently put his hand on top of hers to help her sand the boat.
After a few strokes, Kami sighed.
"Phew, this is hard work Papa." Kami smiled up at him.
"You're right. Why don't we take a break and think of a name for the boat?" Gibbs suggested as he took the sanding tool from her hand.
He picked her up and sat her on his work bench. She happily hummed as she swung her legs and began thinking about what to name the boat.
"Any suggestions Miss Kami?" Gibbs asked.
"Princess!" Kami exclaimed.
"You want to name the boat 'Princess' ?!" Gibbs raised his eyebrows.
Kami nodded.
"You don't want to name it 'Kami' after you?" he asked.
Kami shook her head. Gibbs snapped his fingers. He had an idea.
"How about we name it 'The DiNozzo'...name it after you and your daddy?"
Kami clapped her hands and squealed out a loud "Yes!"
Gibbs was so busy naming the boat with Kami that he didn't know Tony was standing at the top of the stairs watching them. It warmed Tony's heart how well Kami had taken to Gibbs. Even better was how well Gibbs had taken to Kami. He treated her like she was his own daughter. He could only imagine what he was like with Kelly. Tony made his way down the stairs before speaking up.
"What are you guys doing down here?" Tony asked.
"We naming the boat." Kami laughed.
"Ah and what name did you land on?" Tony walked over to the work bench and leaned against it, taking in his lover and daughters handy work.
Gibbs smiled before saying "The DiNozzo."
"The DiNozzo?" Tony asked.
"I felt like it fit. Even though someone wanted to name it princess." Gibbs said as he turned to tickle Kami causing the young girl to laugh.
"If you two need a break, I spotted Frozen was on TV." Tony smiled as his daughter's eyes lit up.
"Olaf!" Kami yelled as she went running up the stairs.
Tony stood in front of Gibbs.
"Seriously, 'The DiNozzo'?" Tony asked.
Gibbs put his arms around Tony.
"I thought it would be a good next step, showing I'm in this for the long haul." Gibbs smirked.
"You know I can't resist you when you smirk like that." Tony said before his and Gibbs lips crashed together.
"I want to strip you down and have hot sex right now on the work bench." Gibbs said, pulling away out of breath.
"Ah ah ah! There's a little girl upstairs. Once Olaf goes off the screen, she will come looking for us. The last thing I want is for her to walk in and see Daddy and Papa 'wrestling'." Tony said with air quotes.
Gibbs laughed. "You're right. We wouldn't want that. We will just wait until she goes to bed."
Before Tony could answer, Kami was standing at the door of the basement.
"Daddy, Olaf go away." Kami pouted.
"See what I mean." Tony chuckled.
The two guys walked back up stairs and Tony picked the little girl up.
"You know Kam, Daddy is like Olaf, I like warm hugs. Do you have one for me?" Tony smiled.
The little girl wrapped her arms tight around Tony.
Tony and Gibbs sat down on the couch with Kami in the middle. Tony had placed a pillow in his lap so that Kami could lay down and still have her daddy. It wasn't long before the little girl was snoring.
"So much for the movie." Gibbs laughed.
"You wore her out sanding 'The DiNozzo'." Tony laughed.
"There is a part of a DiNozzo I would like to do more to than sand." Gibbs wiggled his eyebrows.
Tony carefully lifted Kami up without disturbing her and layed her back down on the couch. Gibbs gently covered the young girl with a blanket.
"Once she's out, she's out...unless she has a nightmare." Tony said, placing a kiss on her head.
Tony took Gibbs in his arms. "Now do you want to show me your "sanding skills" boss?" Tony said as Gibbs led him to the bedroom.
