This chapter is more similar to the old version than the previous one, but as always there are several things different. Especially at the end which is quite interesting, as Issei in this version has the Blades of Mercy from the beginning.
Chapter 1 - Blood Dance
"What the fuck is going on here?"
Rias had no immediate response. Normally, she would joke about the situation or something. Well, she also expected him to act a bit different. It's known by everyone that he is the leader of the school's famous perverted trio. The three of them spy on the girls in the kendo club almost every day, and they are also seen running from the same girls, although they always get caught and get beaten up a lot in the process. However, as much as he was looking at her a bit, he wasn't showing the perverted glances she expected him to show.
Though she noticed a few glances at her naked figure, he quickly lifted his head and looked into her eyes. His own eyes were a little narrowed, causing her to sweat a little. She didn't know what it was, but for some reason, she knew this boy was dangerous.
After being silent for a while, with him making eye pressure towards her, Rias tried to speak.
"Ehhh... well, are you okay? I mean, even though you didn't get a very bad injury last night, I still needed to heal you a bit."
She saw the brows of his eyes rise in confusion.
"You... don't remember last night?" She asked.
"...Last night...?" He mumbled those words before his eyes widened and he looked at her in shock, causing him to fall off the bed. "What did we do last night!?" He shouted pointing his finger at her.
"Oh..." It seems he had a misunderstanding, though it was acceptable. "We didn't do anything, we just slept together."
However, that meant he apparently couldn't remember his battle with that Fallen Angel. He was able to cut off Dohnaseek's arm, so he certainly possessed some skill. Well, she had expected that, after all, he had taken all eight of her Pawns.
"That can't be all!" He shouted back, his hand still pointed at her. "If we're only sleeping together, why the hell are we naked!?" He put both hands on his head, as if applying pressure. "It's not possible that I had sex with a hot woman and don't remember any of it!"
Well, his behavior now sounded a lot more like his description. However, Rias hadn't forgotten the look on his face when he'd woken himself up. She would really have to do some research, but that could be left for another time. Right now, she has to clear up the misunderstanding first.
"Well, Hyoudou-kun," she started to speak, catching his attention. "The part about us being naked is for the fact that my healing works better that way."
"Healing...? What's that all about?"
"Do you really not remember last night, Hyoudou-kun? Your fight against the Fallen Angel, you cutting off his arm and... you being pierced by a spear of light?" She asked while having her head and arms propped up on her leg.
She saw his eyes go wide when she mentioned it. However, before he could say anything, the footsteps of someone coming up the stairs was heard.
"Issei, wake up. You're going to be late for class," it was his mother's voice.
Rias saw Issei panic as soon as he heard her voice. Probably because he doesn't want his mom to see her naked in his room. But... why did she feel like it sounded like something else?
"I'm already awake! I'm already getting ready, don't come in!" He shouted as he started running around the room, looking for some sheets.
"It's the same thing every night and every morning! When will you learn to wake up early and go to school without me having to call you?"
"I already told you not to come in!"
However, the woman did not listen and opened the door. The sight before him was of Issei struggling to put on a pair of underwear and Rias sitting on his bed with a small smile on her face. Issei was completely frozen, rather like his mother, who stared at the two in bewilderment.
"Good morning, mom," Rias greeted with a small smile and wave.
Issei, though still frozen, was able to turn to Rias with an amazed look at what she just said.
"...Good morning," she replied back after some time in silence. "P-Please get ready for class soon."
She closed the door and the footsteps running down the stairs was heard by both of them.
"My baby!"
"What is it, honey!? Is he jerking off while looking at a porno magazine again!?"
"It's a naked foreign girl in his bed! Both naked!"
"Calm down! What happened? What did you see!?"
"Well... I just ran and didn't see anything!"
The voices of Issei's parents were heard loud and clear.
"Your parents are lively, huh?" Rias commented with a smile.
Issei sighed. "Well, what do you expect? They found a hot, naked girl in my bed. And I ended up being naked too. Actually, I'd be scared if they didn't think anything of it..."
Rias raised her eyebrows. Once again, he seemed to be taking it all in better than she expected. It's like it was his specialty to get used to a sudden change in life around him.
"Right," Issei who, to Rias' great surprise, had already put on his clothes, turned to her. "They probably won't calm down anytime soon. Tell me, what was that about healing and me being pierced by a spear of light? Although I certainly dreamt of something similar-"
"It wasn't a dream," Rias interrupted him. "I bathed your injured body in magic during the night. It was one of the reasons why I was a bit clingy around your leg. And like I said, what happened with you and the Fallen Angel wasn't a dream."
Issei seemed to have trouble me accepting that.
"Can you help me put on my bra?" She asked suddenly.
Yes, she was still naked. Issei could see the nipples of her breasts. That would normally have made him go crazy, and it had some effect. But still, he helped her up without much difficulty, although he was tempted to squeeze those two melons.
"Thank you," she thanked him when he had finished. "The world is full of inexplicable mysteries, but you seem to be quite calm."
"Well, I'm a little surprised by that myself..." he muttered quietly, but she could hear. "However, could you explain to me what the hell is going on?"
"In short, I am a Devil."
"What?" He seemed to be hearing things. "Can you repeat it?"
Rias chuckled at that. "With pleasure. Again, I am a Devil. And I'm also your Master."
"Are you joking with my face?"
"There is no joke, Hyoudou-kun. Or rather, can I just call you Issei?"
The morning was beautiful with the sun shining brightly. Several people were walking down the street chatting and laughing happily. However, the focus is on the two people who started to draw the attention of all the students as soon as they were seen together. They were walking in complete silence. The sound of footsteps was heard clearly.
The person walking in front, Rias Gremory, was taking a few short glances back, only to see golden-brown eyes looking down as they walked. He seemed to be thinking about the little conversation they had before they left Issei's house.
She started thinking about that peculiar conversation too...
...
...
At a dining table, four people were sitting at their respective places. Two adults and two young people. The adults were Issei's parents, and they had a nervous look on their faces as they looked at the two. Rias was just smiling while eating. Issei on the other hand, seemed to be thinking deeply, something that left their parents completely surprised. They even asked if he was alright, to which he replied 'yes'.
"So... what is your relationship with my son?" Issei's mother asked with a forced smile.
"We're good friends," Rias replied without missing a beat, still smiling.
'Who the hell is going to believe that?' Issei couldn't help but think after hearing Rias' answer.
"What kind of friends sleep naked in the same bed these days...?" Dad was suspicious.
"It's quite normal, actually," Rias replied again.
However, right after Rias said that, Issei felt something strange. It was like a... surge of energy? He didn't know how to describe it, but his senses seemed to be very sharp after he woke up. When he looked up, he saw something quite strange.
"I see, so it's normal with kids these days, huh?" Both parents spoke at the same time. Suddenly, gone was all their distrust and they seemed to be believing.
Issei cast a small glance at Rias who was still smiling. There was no way this could be considered normal. Had she done something? He really was going crazy. Focusing his gaze on his parents, he began to think deeply once more. There's no way they could agree that easily after those suspicious looks they sent him just a short while ago.
There's something else.
...
...
There's also the fact that his encounter with Yuuma Amano and Dohnaseek were not dreams. His supposed 'girlfriend' was a bloody Fallen Angel who tried to kill him. However, something that made him quite curious was about the weapons that Rias said she found near him. She said that her friend kept it and was going to deliver it to him today.
When she said that, he remembered everything that happened last night. His 'fight' with that Fallen Angel. That was if he could call it a fight. He wasn't in control of his body at that moment, it was as if he was moving on pure instinct. He didn't know why that was and he didn't know why he didn't remember such a thing. He remembered the encounter with Yuuma as a dream, yes, but when he met Dohnaseek it was different.
He couldn't explain it, but if Rias hadn't mentioned it, it's likely he wouldn't be able to remember. For some reason, in that 'fight', he remembered feeling "Limited" somehow. Since he woke up, that feeling has gone away. And he thinks that this feeling of feeling limited was the cause of his defeat, as strange as that is.
Ever since he woke up, his whole body feels weird and he doesn't think that this 'Devil' thing that Rias will probably explain to him later is the total cause of it.
There's another thing that keeps going through his head. The weapons, those two blades he has a vague recollection of from the fight against Dohnaseek. He doesn't know whose they were or where those daggers came from, but he feels he needs to have them as soon as possible. It is a very strange feeling, as if he is not complete without those blades.
"I-Impossible!"
"Rias oneesama!"
"Why is she with that pervert!?"
"He's going to corrupt her!"
"That can't be!"
"Why him!?"
However, the voices of the shocked students brought him out of his thoughts. Well, anyway, it's a waste of time thinking about things he doesn't have any answers to yet. Upon entering the school environment, Issei was amazed by the shocked faces of those who were throwing curses at him.
He gave a perverted laugh as he looked at Rias.
"I'll send a messenger for you later," Rias said as she turned to him with a smile. He just nodded, then she said goodbye. "See you later, Issei."
'Messenger, huh,' he thought. Although it was such a common word that could be used in everyday life, why did it sound so familiar to him?
He stood thinking for a while before walking back.
As soon as he entered the school, he felt something different. His body reacted, moving his head to the side in time to dodge a punch that caught the wall he was near. Reacting again, he raised his right hand and stopped another fist that was also coming towards him.
Confused, he looked at the two people who attacked him. Motohama, the one who ended up with his fist in the wall and, Matsuda, the one who had his fist pinned by Issei's hand.
Stares and whispers of disbelief filled the hallway where they stood.
"You fucking traitor!" Motohama shouted as she pulled his fist out of the wall, without any signs of damage.
Issei raised his eyebrows at the shout and also at the fact that Motohama didn't seem to have hurt himself punching the wall. Not to mention the speed he came running at, so Issei doubted Motohama had managed to stop his fist in time to not hit the wall.
One of Issei's hands was behind his back, the same hand he used to hold his bag.
"Yes, you bastard!" Matsuda shouted, his fist still clenched. "Explain that, you bastard!"
Indeed, the punch Matsuda sent was very strong. Matsuda is a former athlete, so it's to be expected.
Issei let go of his hand as he glared angrily at the two.
"Explain what? Explain why you two want to hit me, you pieces of shit!" He shouted.
Several people were watching their verbal "fight".
"Oh, are you going to play the misunderstood now, traitor? Of course we want an explanation of why you're coming to school with that hot Rias Gremory!"
Issei winked, and soon after, a big perverted grin appeared on his face. With Matsuda and Motohama in front of them, he calmly began to speak in a dreamy voice.
"Tell me, my great friends, have you ever seen naked breasts in front of your eyes?"
As soon as those words left Issei's mouth, the two froze. Issei, with a victorious smile, started walking towards the classroom, missing the stares she was receiving.
...
...
Two people were upstairs, watching everything that happened. One was Rias. The other was a young woman with glasses. She had a slender body, black hair cut short and violet eyes. Her name is Sona, Rias' best friend. She was watching the boy's two friends 'unfreeze' and start running, shouting curses at Issei.
"Is that him?" Sona asked.
"Yes."
"Well, I must say he seems to have potential. Dodging and blocking blows without having a view of where they were coming from is something to mention. Even if he has just been reincarnated and the blows are coming from normal humans," Sona commented.
"Although he has just been reincarnated, he is far from normal."
"Oh?" Sona seemed to get interested. "Clarify for me," she spoke.
"He took all eight of my Pawns, Sona," Rias replied. Sona's eyes widened, as she hadn't heard that yet. "Not only that, he was able to fight a Fallen Angel and cut off his arm."
That was a bit odd, as Issei didn't seem to have been able to cause damage to the first fallen angel he encountered. But then again, it might have been because he let his guard down, or hadn't awakened his Sacred Gear yet. It could also have been those two.
Sona could tell by Rias' tone that she was confused as hell, though she was also clearly happy about his addition to her Peerage.
Sona adjusted her glasses as she spoke, "Well, that is truly interesting. For him to have taken all your pawns, his Sacred Gear is probably a Longinus. However, you said he cut off the fallen angel's arm? Has he unlocked his Sacred Gear yet?"
"I have no idea. When we found him, he was already passed out. But, he also had two twin daggers with him. I didn't look at them much, but they seemed to be of very good quality. I also don't know if the daggers have anything to do with his Sacred Gear. Akeno kept them to try to look for something, but we plan to return them to him today."
"I see."
"And it doesn't end there," Rias continued. "He also looked different when he woke up. He didn't look at me in a perverted way, but rather like he was analyzing me. It was very strange. My body froze for a moment and my head was screaming 'dangerous' when I looked at him, but that feeling went away quickly."
"Looks like there's something more about the leader of the perverted trio, huh." Sona commented.
"I think so too," Rias sighed as he ran a hand through her hair. "He also seemed to be taking it all in quietly, though he had an initial panic."
"Do you think he might have been aware of the Supernatural before?" Sona asked.
"Unlikely, unless he's a first-rate liar. And seeing the way he acts here at school, he could be anything, but liar sure isn't something that fits his personality," Rias replied.
She concluded this after seeing his confusion and surprise at some things.
"Well, we can continue this conversation later. We wasted a lot of time here. But I must say, this boy really caught my attention," Sona commented.
"Don't forget he's part of my Peerage," Rias joked.
"And don't forget that I gave him up because of you and your problem."
In fact, the first person to take an interest in Issei was Sona, not Rias. Losing a person to a possible Longinus is indeed a shame, but she's not entirely empty-handed. After all, she recruited someone quite interesting not too long ago as well.
Rias followed Sona as she agreed with her.
"I know."
Issei was inside the classroom. Currently, he was trying to pay attention to the lesson. However, paying attention to what the teacher was saying proved to be a real challenge for him, after all, he has several things on his mind to prioritize right now instead of the useless math class. Basic math was enough, just what people would actually use in their lives, but no, they actually have to put in those damn equations that no one will ever use after they finish school!
"Mr. Hyoudou, are you paying attention?" The math teacher spoke to him.
Issei lifted his gaze as he replied, "If I was really paying attention, you probably wouldn't have said that, would you?"
Most of his classmates cast a surprised look at him. It wasn't exactly because of his words, but rather because of the sharp tone that came out of his mouth. Normally, students would always try to deflect and say they were paying attention, although this was not the case. This wasn't the first time the teacher had spoken to him like this either, but he always said he was paying attention, so hearing him admit he wasn't paying attention with that sharp tone was unheard of for the people who knew him.
The "prince of Kuoh" himself, Yuuto Kiba shot a glance at Issei upon hearing his tone talking to the teacher. He is handsome young man with short blonde hair and blue eyes.
The said teacher earned a frown on his face as he answered the boy. "Trying to be funny, Mr. Hyoudou? Be careful with your tone, unless you want extra homework."
"I'm just answering your damn question honestly. It's no secret that you like to pick on me, along with Motohama and Matsuda," before the teacher could speak, he continued. "All right, I understand the dislike. The three of us are perverts who spy and we admit it freely, unlike most."
This earned a lot of comments from the girls, which he didn't even pay attention to. He was looking intently at the teacher who started talking soon after.
"Well, at least you understand his vulgar actions. But because of your words, I can't stand by and do nothing. Get up and come solve this equation on the board. If you answer correctly, I won't assign any extra activity to you."
"Again?" Issei raised his eyebrows. "You always make me get up and go to the board to answer something I certainly don't know. Do you enjoy humiliating me in front of the class?" He didn't even wait for answers as he continued. "You can go to hell with those damn equations. I'll never use that when I leave this school. Get someone else to answer it, preferably someone who enjoys it."
Most people's mouths dropped open with wide eyes upon hearing Issei's reply. The leader of the perverted trio had actually answered the teacher. Matsuda and Motohama just looked at each other with a smile and a thumbs up in Issei's direction.
Issei himself didn't know why the hell he answered the teacher like that. One thing for sure, his thoughts were clearer and he was more aware around him. It was as if his voice came out of its own accord, as if he no longer accepted any kind of mockery towards him. No matter how much he thought about it, it was strange.
And again, this all started when he woke up this morning.
The teacher, however, didn't like the way Issei answered him one bit. He was clenching his fists and gritting his teeth, but just as he was about to speak, the bell that decrees the end of class rang.
'This isn't over, brat,' the teacher grumbled as he left the classroom.
'Just fuck off, you damn teacher!' Issei thought as he stood up from his chair.
"Although you are a total pervert, I didn't realize you possessed such a wild side to respond to the teacher like that," a familiar voice commented.
As soon as he looked away, he saw who it was.
Aika Kiryuu. She wears glasses, has golden eyes, and slightly messy brown hair tied in braids on either side. A classmate of his.
"Who are you to call me a pervert?" Issei raised his eyebrows.
Aika Kiryuu, is basically the female version of Motohama, since they both had the ability to visualize sizes. For Motohama, he possesses the ability to calculate a woman's body measurements just by looking, which earned him nicknames like 'Pervert Glasses'. As for Aika, well, she could tell the size of men's 'excalibur'. In short, she was a complete pervert, just like them.
However, she did not receive the same treatment as them. Such was society and its 'justice'.
"Me being a pervert doesn't change the fact that you are," she replied simply.
Issei didn't answer that. Matsuda who had joined them began to speak.
"Man, you were pretty badass answering the teacher!"
"Yeah, showed that shitty teacher who's boss!" Motohama agreed with Matsuda. "Those damn stupid equations." Well, he was the smartest of the three, but that didn't mean he liked those equations.
The girls' screams echoed through the classroom. As soon as Issei and the others with him looked at the source of the screams, they immediately realized why. Yuuto Kiba. And he seemed to be walking towards them, but precisely, walking towards Issei.
"Kiba-kun, don't go near him!"
"What!? What does Kiba want with the pervert!?"
"He's going to corrupt him!"
"He'll defile our prince!"
"No!"
Kiba approached them with a smile on his face. "Excuse me, may I borrow Hyoudou-kun? Rias Gremory, the president of my club wants to talk to him."
'So that's him, huh,' Issei thought. Yet why send him of all people? Just because they were in the same class? It was no surprise to anyone that Issei didn't like Kiba.
With a sigh, Issei turned to his friends. "Guys, I gotta go."
Matsuda and Motohama looked at him, clearly 'envious', though it didn't seem to be entirely that. Aika, however, had a playful smile on her face.
"Rias Gremory herself wants to talk to you, huh? Maybe spring is finally shining for you, pervert?" She commented with a flirtatious, playful tone, aiming to make Issei nervous or embarrassed.
However, that didn't work.
"No, I doubt that's the case." He commented nonchalantly, earning her surprise.
"Oh, it didn't work?" she muttered.
"It takes more than that to make me embarrassed or nervous, pervert."
It's not like they knew he'd already slept with Rias with both of their clothes off. Though she did say nothing happened.
"Heh, are you challenging me?" She asked, straightening her glasses that gave off a small glare.
Kiba along with the other people around just looked on with confusion and curiosity at their exchange of words.
Issei himself was a little confused as he talked to Aika. Usually, she always managed to make him nervous. However, why is it that whenever he thinks about a girl... he feels like he's forgetting something very important? There was also the odd fact that Motohama and Matsuda hadn't mentioned any porn DVDs or anything like that, for example spying on the girls. They had clearly gotten jealous seeing him arrive at school with Rias Gremory, but hadn't commented on anything else since.
"Okay, let's get going," Issei grumbled to Kiba after he had finished arguing a bit with Aika.
"Oh, sure." Kiba snapped out of his stupor as he started walking ahead.
As they left, Motohama, Matsuda, and Aika waved goodbye to him, to which he raised his free hand, waving to them.
Issei and Kiba started walking, ignoring all the gossip about them. Issei wondered if these girls were right in the head, because the way he saw it, they certainly weren't. Especially the girls with the least... weird costumes.
Well, ignoring that, he followed Kiba and they ended up heading towards the back of the school.
In this place, surrounded by trees, is the old school building. Apparently it was used a long time ago, but now it is abandoned and no one comes here anymore. He used to get goosebumps in this place, but now he doesn't feel anything. It is so creepy for people that it was listed as one of the 'seven school mysteries'. The appearance of the building is quite old-fashioned, the building all wooden, but he didn't see any broken windows.
In fact, the place seemed to be well maintained. It's old, but it doesn't look that bad.
"Buchou's here," Kiba said.
Well, he did mention that Rias was president of the club he participated in.
They entered the old building, which is two stories, and went up to the second floor. They kept walking, passing corridors that looked well cared for. Issei realized that everywhere they went there was not the slightest sign of dust. When one speaks of old places, one always thinks of insects, cobwebs and dust. However, until now, he had not seen any of that.
Surely this place is not abandoned.
He was a little surprised that he had come to these conclusions so quickly. While it might be common to think and notice such things, Issei was never the type of person to analyze things to the extreme in a casual manner.
...
Kiba noticed Issei's analytical glances as they walked. Even though Rias warned him that he more than looked it, being able to cut off the arm of a fallen angel in a fight, he was still surprised. It was as if no detail escaped Issei's vision.
...
Eventually, they reached their destination. Kiba stopped in front of a particular room. Issei was a little surprised by the nameplate next to the door.
-[Occult Research Club].
"Buchou, I brought him here."
Kiba stood waiting for a response, behind the wooden door. It wasn't long before Rias Gremory's voice answered.
"Yes, thank you, Yuuto. You may enter."
As soon as Kiba opened the door, Issei began to analyze the room. There were strange words and symbols drawn all over the place. The floor, walls and ceiling are covered in strange signs. But one in particular stands out, a large circle drawn right in the middle of the room. Even with all this, he didn't feel scared or affected in any way. He was actually indifferent to it all.
Something Kiba realized.
It seems that one of those magic circles and takes up most of the space in the room. He could feel something strange and creepy coming from there. There was also the furniture, a couple of couches and cabinets.
Looking across, he noticed that there was someone sitting on one of the couches. He knew that girl, it was someone from the first year. Toujou Koneko.
Despite being a first year, she looks much younger, elementary school age, because of her childish face and small body. She is quite popular with certain 'types' of boys. She is also popular with the girls, being considered a mascot because she is so cute. She was eating a Yookan candy silently. She always has this apathetic expression. If he remembers correctly, everyone says she is quite cold.
"This here is Hyoudou Issei."
Kiba introduced him. Koneko just nodded silently. In fact, as inexpressive as she may look, Issei could sense that she was fully on alert in his presence. Though it was probably because of the rumors of him circulating around the school, he felt that it wasn't just that.
"Nice to meet you."
SHHH!
Issei quickly noticed the sound of water running, coming from the back. Was that the sound of a shower?
The sound of running water was interrupted.
He quickly realized that at the very back of the room was a shower curtain, and a shadow behind the curtain. The shadow of a girl.
"Buchou, over here."
"Thanks, Akeno." Rias' voice was heard.
It seems that Rias was taking a shower. And the voice behind the curtain, a second girl. Could the two be bathing together? Issei started to turn red as he remembered what happened this morning, with him waking up naked next to Rias. Well, hopefully, he wouldn't need a porn material for quite a while.
"... What a lecherous face."
He heard Koneko mutter and turned to her. He stared at her for a bit, but she just kept eating the candy while watching him carefully.
Was this girl afraid of him?
The curtain opens, and Rias is standing there, wearing the customary school uniform. She looked quite seductive. As soon as she looked at Issei, she gave a small smile.
"Sorry, I couldn't take a shower yesterday because I had to spend the night with you. So I was taking one."
Oh really? But isn't it strange to have a shower in a corner of the room? For some reason, all of Issei's instincts were warning that this was somehow a set-up from the beginning, however, he ignored it for now. He just looked at her with a perverted smile. However, he noticed someone behind Rias.
A brunette with a ponytail. Her beautiful face, which was always smiling. Himejima Akeno.
"Ara, ara. How are you, kouhai-kun. My name is Himejima Akeno. It's a pleasure to meet you."
She introduced herself, with a smile. Her voice is mesmerizing. However, again Issei's instincts forced him to be on full alert with her. Although she looked a bit different, she seemed to emanate an aura similar to that psychopathic fallen angel who tried to kill him.
This time, he chose to follow instinct and stood and guard, something the others noticed and raised their eyebrows at.
"I am Hyoudou Issei. It's a pleasure to meet you..."
"It seems everyone is already present. Issei, tell me, what do you think of this room?" Rias asked. Although he had just arrived, she was a little curious.
Even confused, he answered. "Well, even though this is supposedly an 'abandoned building' near the school, I still find it difficult to get authorization to be able to use it. So it's more likely that you or your family have some power in this school."
Actually, he didn't know why he was thinking all this. Normally, he would ignore something like this, but it seems that he thinks about these things naturally and unconsciously. It was as if his brain was used to it. This was definitely something totally strange.
They seemed to be surprised by his answer, except for Koneko.
"Ara, ara. That's quite unexpected," Akeno commented with a smile, while she had a hand under her mouth.
Rias pulled herself together. "Indeed. Very well, in that case."
Rias and everyone else stood up. She then began to speak.
"We of the Occult Research Club welcome a new fellow devil."
"Very well," Issei replied as he sat down on the couch, "I believe you're going to better explain some things that are confusing to me, aren't you?"
His gaze that had a bit of perversion in it was completely replaced by a serious and implacable look. Any and all hints of the perverted trio's leader were gone, leaving room for a new Issei that no one knew.
Everyone was surprised by the change in his tone and look. Rias was the least surprised, having already witnessed something similar this morning. Even Koneko showed some expression on her face, however small.
Rias had already warned everyone that Hyoudou Issei was more than just a simple pervert. Kiba was the only person who didn't witness the way he left the fallen angel that night, so he was the most curious of them. As much as he didn't want to doubt Rias and the others, he still had doubts. However, any doubts he had now were crushed after he looked at Issei.
After a short while, Akeno appeared with a cup of tea for him.
"I appreciate it." He took a sip. "It's very good."
"Fufu, I appreciate the compliment."
She started laughing out of nowhere, making him sweat. 'What's wrong with this woman?' Koneko, however, still seemed to be keeping her distance from him.
"Oh, before anything... Can I have my daggers back? You said you would give them back to me, right?" Issei asked after taking another sip of tea.
"Ah, yes. Akeno, go get his weapons," Rias signaled for her to go get them.
"Of course, Buchou," Akeno nodded and went to another room. She returned not long after with the two blades. "Here. I've done a bit of research, but I didn't find anything like these daggers. I must say, they seem to be made with high quality materials, where did you get them?"
She handed the daggers to him. As soon as he took them, it was as if time had slowed down for a certain period, while he was fascinated looking at the blades. He didn't know how, but those daggers were very important to him. After spending some time admiring the blades, he realized that the others were looking at him, probably waiting for the answer to Akeno's question.
He hesitated.
"Let's say it was a... gift?" He himself was confused as he said those words.
He had no idea how those blades ended up in his hand. They were only there when he fought that fallen angel. However, the idea that he received them from someone... seemed so right.
His answer didn't seem to please the others, but they didn't insist on it and decided to ask another time. After a while, Rias turned to Issei and everyone was looking at him.
"I'll get straight to the point. Here, we are all Devils."
"Put straight into it. Well, you mentioned about healing me and me getting pierced by a spear of light earlier, didn't you?"
"Yes," she nodded. "Those who attacked you are fallen angels. They were once angels who served god, but fell to hell for having evil intentions. They are also enemies of us devils."
She was probably mentioning 'Yuuma' and that fallen angel from yesterday.
Well, if there were fallen angels, devils, then all the rest must exist too. He was strangely accepting all of this with ease, as if it wasn't the most ridiculous thing he had ever witnessed.
Rias continued.
"We devils have been in a state of war against the Fallen Angels since ancient times. We fight for possession of the world of the dead, also known as hell by humans. The world of the dead is divided into two areas, of the Devils and the Fallen Angels. The Devils form pacts with humans, receiving their sacrifice which increases our strength. The Fallen Angels, on the other hand, control humans to eliminate devils. In addition, there are the Angels, who come here by divine order to try to eliminate the two races. With that, we have the three forces. This has been going on since ancient times."
"I see... so, this club is like a kind of 'front' for you guys?" Issei deduced.
"You sure are smarter than you look, Issei. Yes, you're right. This club is just a cover for my Peerage."
'Peerage? Is it her 'Servants'?' he thought. Besides, fallen angels are enemies of devils, huh. 'However...' He looked at Akeno suspiciously, but didn't say anything. He wasn't entirely sure yet, so he wouldn't judge.
"Yuuma Amano," Issei pronounced. "Why did she want to kill me?"
There was no way she just decided to play around with some Muggle human and do it for fun... right? There has to be some other reason. And he's sure they know what that reason is. Issei doubted they'd revived him without expecting to get something in return. At least that's what he thought. They are Devils, beings that are evil in their own right.
"The reason she approached you was to check if there was anything dangerous inside you. She must have sensed a faint signal coming from it. That's why she spent all that time with you. Then, during your encounter, she was able to confirm. That you were a human possessing a 'Sacred Gear'."
Sacred Gear...
He feels he has heard that name before. With extreme concentration, he managed to remember 'Yuuma's' words when she pierced him with that damn spear of light.
"Don't blame me, dear. Blame God for giving you that Sacred Gear.". ' That's what Yuuma had said that day."
Issei clenched his fists as he remembered. Taking Issei's silence to continue, Kiba began to explain.
"'Sacred Gear' is a type of irregular power that is granted to some humans. As an example, most people who have had their names recorded in human history are said to possess some Sacred Gear. They use the power of Sacred Gear to leave their name written in history."
"Even nowadays there are people who have Sacred Gears inside their bodies. You know those important people who are known all over the world? Most of them have Sacred Gear in their bodies," Akeno continued the explanation.
"Most Sacred Gears have such characteristics that they are only useful in human society. However, there are exceptional Sacred Gears that are a threat to us Devils and Fallen Angels. Issei, raise your hand, please."
"Huh?" He was confused by Rias' request.
"Just do it," she insisted.
Although he was still confused, Issei began to do as she asked.
"Close your eyes and think of something that is the most powerful thing you can imagine." She instructed.
The most powerful thing he can imagine? Well, normally, he would imagine Goku, after all, who was more powerful than him?
However, that thought was overshadowed by something new.
He had a vision. The silhouette of a person. He could see the clothes he wore. A hat unlike anything he had ever seen before. The hat on both the left and right sides, curved upwards and in the middle was another end of it. Gray and brown clothes, with a black cape that resembled a black wing, black gloves with white details, black pointed boots. And most importantly. In both of the man's hands... were the same blades he now possessed.
The silhouette had its back to him, so he wasn't able to see the face, but he felt that it was familiar. Very familiar.
A Hunter.
Issei did not notice the world outside, as he was confused as to why he had seen it. However, he noticed the awkward silence and opened his eyes. He saw that everyone was looking at him in disbelief and shock. Confused, he realized something, more precisely what they were looking at.
His left arm had a sort of gauntlet covering it. It was equipped with something bright and flashy. It looked like a well-built, realistic costume accessory. It covered almost all of Issei's arm. There was a green jewel in the area of his hand and it made his fingers pointy. It was almost as if it was a dragon's claw.
"The Sekiryuutei..." Rias muttered in shock.
Issei just stared at her, he was confused. Everyone was looking at him with surprised expressions.
"Excuse me, but could you guys explain to me what that is?" He asked pointing to his gauntlet covered arm.
"Ah- yes," Rias snapped out of the initial shock she had and began to explain. "Your Sacred Gear is called the Boosted Gear, it is of the Longinus class. There are currently 13 of them, and they are all known for their ability to kill a god. The power of your Sacred Gear, Issei, is the ability to make the user double their own power every 10 seconds."
"What?" Even Issei understood how broken that was. "Something tells me it's not that simple."
As incredible as it might sound, there are still some things to think about. Doubling the power every 10 seconds must have some sort of side effect. It was easy to deduce what it was, so Rias only gave him the all clear when he explained.
"You're right. It depends on the user's ability, how much they can handle from Boosts. If you go over the limit that the user's body can handle, then you might pass out, or in the worst case, even die if you overdo it."
Her voice was still a little surprised, as if she was still trying to understand something.
"I see." Death sure isn't a nice thing, so he'll be careful when using the Boosted Gear.
"That explains why I needed all eight pawns to reincarnate you," Rias muttered. "Though I already suspected you were Longinus-level..."
Even though Koneko had warned her of the dragon smell she smelled from Issei, Rias knew it would be a powerful Sacred Gear from the fact that she needed to use all eight of her pawns, but even so, she still didn't imagine it could actually be Boosted Gear. The Divine Dividing bearer had appeared some time ago, but no one had yet seen the Boosted Gear bearer.
Now it was explained, he had not yet been awakened.
"Why did you mention chess pieces?"
"Oh, it's just that devils use the chess system to reincarnate someone into a Devil of their Peerage. You took all eight of my pawns," she explained.
So, depending on the strength of the reincarnate, the more pieces he or she consumes? An intriguing system.
The other three all watched their exchange with curiosity. Kiba was the most confused. Even though he hadn't interacted with Issei in the past, he was still in the same class as him, even if Issei for some reason seemed to hold a grudge against him. However, he never imagined seeing the leader of the perverted trio act this way.
'Could he be faking his perverted attitude?' Kiba thought. 'That doesn't seem to be the case'. However, he noticed the way Koneko seemed to be wary of Issei, watching him cautiously, as if he was going to jump on someone's neck at some point.
Well, his two daggers were hidden under his clothes, at his waist. It didn't look like he was going to pull them out of thin air.
"So," Issei began to speak, "in a nutshell, I am your devil servant?"
"Yes," she nodded. "However, don't think I'm going to treat you badly, I'll never do that. I treat all my servants as my family. Speaking of which, how about we introduce ourselves again? Yuuto, please."
Kiba smiled and bat wings emerged from his back. "My name is Yuuto Kiba. As you already know, I am attending 2nd year with you Hyoudou Issei-kun."
"Attending 1st year... Toujou Koneko. It's a pleasure... I'm also a devil," Koneko introduced herself, making the same bat wings appear from her back.
"My name is Himejima Akeno, and I am currently a third year student. I am also the vice president of the Occult Research Club. It is a great pleasure to meet you. Although I look like this, I'm also a devil, uhuhu."
Great self-esteem, huh. Though she deserved to have that, after all, she was pretty hot.
It was Rias' turn to introduce herself again, though this time, she gave a few more details.
"And I am their master and also a Devil of House Gremory, Rias Gremory. My House holds the title of Duke. Welcome to the family, Issei."
He really got himself into something crazy, huh.
But why does he feel like he's experienced something crazier than that?
Currently, Issei had left after Rias explained about some things about the Three Factions.
Now, only Rias, Akeno and Kiba were left in the club room.
"What do you guys think?" Rias asked.
Well, she was a bit startled by his last words before he left. But she could understand, after all, she had used magic on his parents this morning to make them accept things without asking too many questions.
"He took it all pretty easy," Kiba commented. "I was also surprised at the way he spoke, totally different from how he normally acts. He also answered the teacher in math class today."
"Oh?" Rias showed a little interest in that.
"He was acting cautious around me," Akeno commented. "It seemed like he thought I'd jump on him or something..."
"He probably realized," Koneko's voice made everyone turn to her.
"Realized?" Rias repeated confused, Akeno also seemed to be confused.
"... Akeno's fallen angel side. He probably sensed that you have a similar energy to those who attacked him."
The other three widened their eyes at Koneko's words.
"Are you... are you sure about that?" Akeno asked, pinching the skirt of her school uniform.
"I'm not sure... but it's most likely."
"I see, that could become a problem," Rias sighed. "If he really realized that Akeno possessed... fallen angel traits, then it's only natural that he'd be wary, after all, the two he encountered tried to kill him, the first one succeeding."
"Don't compare those bugs to me," Akeno spat. However, she widened her eyes as she realized the tone she used and tried to apologize with her head down. "I apologize for that... I-"
"I know, Akeno," Rias interrupted her. "It's mostly my fault for mentioning it knowing you don't like it."
Akeno continued with her head lowered and Rias sighed before she turned to Koneko who had remained silent. Though Koneko is the silent type, today she was much quieter than usual. She seemed to be making a point of keeping her distance from Issei. Initially, Rias thought it was because of Issei's reputation as a pervert, and while it's probably because of that as well, there's clearly something more to it.
"Koneko, can you tell me what's going on with you today?" Rias asked.
"... What do you mean by that?"
"Come on, Koneko, I know you very well. I saw that you're behaving strangely around Issei. Could you tell me why?"
"I'd like to know too," Kiba commented. Apparently, he had noticed it too.
Koneko was special. She came from a race that was very sensitive to auras or things like that. So it's possible that she had noticed something that they hadn't. Koneko chewed on her candy while thinking. After a while, she finally opened her mouth and began to speak.
"Dangerous..."
"What?" Rias was confused.
"He... he's dangerous. Very dangerous." She repeated.
Rias thought quietly about it. The fallen angel who lost an arm to Issei last night called him someone scary and she had the same feeling when she woke up this morning. She looked at Koneko and asked a question.
"Could you clarify?"
"... It's strange. When I was following him days ago I could smell human and dragon from him. Last night I couldn't tell because of the smell of blood, but..." She pursed her lips before continuing. "As soon as he entered the club, I could smell it."
"Koneko, what did you feel?" Akeno asked as she approached her.
"Death."
Those simple words sent chills down the three who heard it.
"Death...?" Kiba whispered.
"I can't explain it, I just felt it. The dragon smell and aura I could smell from him was completely taken over by the aura and smell of death. It's just weird. I feel something like those two daggers. I can't get near him, he's dangerous."
"I see, so that's why you avoided being near the daggers when I watched them," Akeno commented.
"Yes," Koneko nodded.
'That's new information,' Rias thought. However, she needs to be sure of something.
"Are you saying that 'this' 'death' aura of his was able to cover the entire aura of the Sekiryuutei?" Rias asked.
Koneko just nodded, shaking her head.
This only made the other three uncomfortable.
Thoughts filled their minds.
However, a few minutes later, Rias decided to leave that for another time.
"We'll discuss it some other time. However, I want you to keep an eye on him. Especially you, Yuuto, as you are in the same class as him. Akeno, look again for information about those two daggers. I will do the same. "
"Understood."
"As you wish Buchou."
"Well, let's go."
Issei was in his room, lying with his head up, looking at the ceiling. He thought about the things Rias explained to him earlier, before he left.
In short, most of the Original Devils perished in the War that happened a long time ago. Because of that, they started collecting servants in large numbers. The Devils have a low fertility rate, and because of that, they would not be able to oppose the fallen angels who are in much greater numbers. So, they look for humans with high potential to reincarnate into devils.
Rias made it clear that most did not force people, but she did not deny that there are those who do. The Devils created the Evil Pieces system, to reincarnate humans based on chess pieces, just because they liked to play the game of chess. The Angels used the playing cards, which in turn were able to reincarnate many more humans than the Devils.
Issei, while he doesn't play much chess, he knows the rules, having played in the past.
Rias also gave a brief rundown on the effect of chess pieces on those who are reincarnated, which are quite similar to the game itself.
The Queen is worth 9 pawns. Queen pieces have all the characteristics of Rooks, Knights and Bishops, making them the most balanced piece, as well as the most powerful. Within Peerages, Queens typically act as their master's second in command, overseeing the rest of the Peerage.
Rooks are worth 5 pawns. Rooks gain superhuman strength, leading to high attack and defense. However, they are not very fast and can be easily defeated by a speeding opponent.
Knights are worth 3 pawns. Knights gain increased speed and mobility, allowing them to perform high-speed attacks and maneuvers. However, their main weakness is their low defense, making them vulnerable to powerful attacks if not careful. And another weakness, although Rias didn't mention it is their own legs. If the legs get injured, the Knights' mobility is greatly reduced.
Rias was the [King], Akeno the [Queen], Koneko the [Rook] and Kiba the [Knight.]]
Then, finally came Issei's own piece, the Pawn. The characteristic of Pawns is the ability to promote themselves to each of the other pieces, with the exception of the King, in enemy territory, or with the permission of their King.
However, the most important part for Issei was something else. If he rose through the devil ranks, he could have his own Peerage. And being him, of course all the members will be girls!
He will be able to have sex with all of them! That's his biggest goal at the moment. If he wants to become the king of the harem, then he'll have to climb the ranks. After all, Rias said that polygamy in Supernatural is normal, so it won't be a problem.
However, the bad part is that he'll have to start by doing some minor jobs, since he's just been reincarnated. First of all, he will have to deliver some stupid flyers. If he had a relative, he could easily do this through his own relative, but since he doesn't have one, then he will have to deliver the flyers himself.
Rias also warned about the spears of light, because as it is holy power, it is basically poison for devils. Before he said goodbye to her, he asked about what she did to his parents this morning. She used a spell on them, to make them accept the situation calmly.
And it was at that moment that he got angry, although he did his best not to show it. He remembered what he said to Rias.
"Never use magic on my parents again without my permission."
After that, her eyes went wide, but after she promised to do what he said, he left.
Well, to finish, his body. According to Rias, his body was greatly improved compared to an ordinary human, as he was a devil. Maybe it was because of this that he was able to fight that fallen angel, although the memories of that 'fight' were still strange.
Some time later, he finally fell asleep.
It had been a few days since his rebirth as a devil. As he had just been reborn as a devil, he was told that he should study about the Devils' society and how it works. It had been a few days since he had been handing out these leaflets.
Issei was also introduced to contracts. Basically, it was something all devils did, and although he had enough demon energy to go through a teleportation circle, he preferred to walk to people's houses. He had a bicycle that he could use, but he didn't use it.
The reason is unknown even to him. Another strange thing to add to the list of strange things since he woke up that morning a few days ago. It was as if he wanted to walk and run for long distances, as if to train. It was a strange feeling, but he even liked it.
However, there were two problems.
The first problem was that no matter how long the distance traveled, at least as far as the houses of the people who asked for a contract, he did not get tired. Was the evolved devil body that impressive? He did not ask Rias. To be honest, he still doesn't trust them fully.
Even if they saved his life, he can't get the distrust out of his mind no matter how hard he tries.
The second problem...
He couldn't close a contract with anyone!
Those damn people who ask for a contract and don't close, screw them all!
Kiba, apparently, was quite popular. Most of the people who hired him were women. What kind of contract does he make with them? Could it be sex!? Or something involving sex!?
Shaking his head, Issei stopped thinking about that and focused on other things.
The two daggers and the Boosted Gear he had. Walking around with two sharp blades isn't exactly the best decision, but no matter how hard he tries to leave the daggers at his house somewhere hidden, he can't. He can't get rid of them. It's like he can't get rid of the blades.
It was also strange enough that he used them with total mastery, as if he had been using them for years. Of course, he didn't test them against anyone, he just maneuvered them at night, hidden from everyone's eyes. Although Rias and the others would ask about the blades from time to time, he always changed the subject, not revealing anything about the daggers.
However, Boosted Gear was different.
He didn't mind getting help when it came to his Sacred Gear. He had learned a bit about Longinus. Whenever he thought about wanting more strength, Boosted Gear would announce a Boost. The voice that announced the Boost was something that intrigued Issei. The voice conveyed a sense of power and domination.
He was walking towards the school while having all these thoughts.

"Stray Devils. There are beings who are called that," said Rias.
A Stray Devil is a devil who has been converted to a servant of another devil with a Peerage Title, but who has betrayed his own Master.
Cases like that rarely occur. The power of a devil is enormous. It does not compare with the strength of a mere human. Thus, those who get this power, end up wanting to use it for their own selfish interests. And also, those Devils who put aside their own master and cause destruction in different places.
That is a Stray Devil. The fallen angel Dohnaseek, probably mistook Issei for one, though Issei doubted it. In other words, a stray dog. Lost dogs cause big problems. When they are found by their master or some other Devil with the order to kill them, they are eliminated on the spot.
That is the law of the Devils.
Other creatures like the Angels and Fallen Angels, see them as a threat and eliminate the Stray Devils when they find them. There's nothing scarier than a Devil that doesn't respect any rules according to Rias.
Issei headed to the building that was located outside the city, next to Rias, Akeno, Koneko and Kiba.
Apparently, this is the common job of a Devil. Rias also mentioned that there are devils that eat humans. They lure humans to feed on them. As such, an upper-class Devil requested Rias to eliminate him.
And this is where the mess begins, as Rias decided to test Issei against this Stray Devil. She wanted to see him in action, no matter how afraid he was.
Apparently, the fact that he was able to fight that fallen angel and cut off his arm put him in a good position in Rias' view.
It's midnight, so it was very dark. The grass surrounding them is quite tall. Issei could see the building from here, thanks to his enhanced devil sight. Or, it was just what he thought. Because he felt that even without the devil enhancements, he would still be able to see well in the dark.
"So, Issei, are you ready?" Rias asked as they approached the building.
"Answering truthfully? No, not at all. I'm too scared, can't you feel the sinister air this place gives off?"
"Fufu, you don't need to worry, Issei-kun," Akeno's voice spoke. "If we sense that you are in danger, we will immediately come to your aid."
"It's like Akeno said. You were able to cut off the arm of a fallen angel, so I doubt you're totally helpless. Besides, you possess Boosted Gear," Rias tried to reassure.
"I look forward to watching," Kiba added.
"Of course you are, I bet you just want to watch me get caught," Issei grumbled as they made their way inside the building.
However, he realized that they were all being more observant than normal these past few days.
As soon as Issei took the next few steps, he noticed something different in the air. For some reason, it seemed to be something he was quite craving, though he couldn't quite figure out what it was.
"...Smell of blood," murmured Koneko.
She covered her nose with her uniform after speaking that.
Smell of blood?
He felt it. He doesn't know how, but he could smell blood. And it seemed to be driving him crazy, for he was enjoying the smell of blood. Could Rias have forgotten to mention some things when he turned into a Devil? However, Koneko didn't seem to be enjoying the smell.
Suddenly, all his instincts alerted him of something. The smell of blood became stronger. Then a voice echoed throughout the building.
"I can smell something disgusting. But I can also smell something delicious. Will it be sweet? Will it be sour?"
"Stray Devil, Vazior. Come out, we're here to eliminate you," Rias said.
"Ketaketaketaketaketaketaketaketaketaketaketaketaketaketa."
Issei said nothing. The hell? Was that supposed to be a laugh? What the fuck?
A... woman appeared from the shadows. However, her body was in the open. The sound of heavy footsteps was heard as Stray Devil fully appeared.
It was a disgusting sight. To have the upper part of a woman and the lower part of a monster. Something that looks familiar to a spear is coming out of both hands. On the underside of the monster it had four large legs with sharp claws... and a snake tail?
Normally, such a sight would scare any ordinary person. Issei just kept looking at the creature. He wanted to fight it. He didn't know why, but he wanted to kill that thing.
Kill...
Since when did he think of killing so nonchalantly? It was clear that he and the others had come to do this here, and this was a monster, but still...
"You have cast aside your master for your own selfish desires, so you definitely deserve death. In the name of the Duke of Gemory, my servant will eliminate you," Rias announced.
Her voice was full of confidence.
"You are really brave girl! So, which of your servants will come to me? I will tear apart anyone's body!"
"Issei. It's up to you. If we feel that you are in danger, we will help you," Rias declared.
He just nodded and sighed. Then, he took a step forward. Rias and the others were curious about how he would fare with a Stray Devil. If they were confident that he could face one, then there was no way it could be too difficult.
Strange, why did he seem so at ease with this arrangement? Since his 'fight' against the fallen angel, he had never fought anyone else. But here he is, looking at the monster in front of him without any fear. In fact, he seemed to be drawn to fight.
...
Rias watched Issei slowly walk forward before he stopped walking. She wanted to see how he would fight. It didn't matter if he would utilize the Boosted Gear or those two daggers. The answer came quickly when he pulled out the blades that were hidden at his waist.
However, as soon as he pulled out the blades, she felt a discomfort. Looking away, she realized that Koneko had her eyes narrowed, looking at Issei.
Rias really hoped she hadn't made some bad choice. She really wanted to get a sense of Issei's ability.
...
"Oh, so you're the one who wants to have your body torn apart? Alright, come on!" The monster shouted.
At that moment, Issei felt his blood boil. And then, without even being aware of it, he joined the hunt.
No matter where he is.
No matter if he remembers or not.
After all...
A Hunter must hunt.
And then, the monster, who was so full of himself, recoiled as he sensed all killing intent.
...
Vazior was not the only one who felt that pressure. As much as it was being directed at 'her' for the most part, Rias and the others felt it too.
Vazior who was full of rage, suddenly got a face so scared that she seemed to be seeing the grim reaper himself with her eyes. Being the target of all that horrible pressure, she couldn't move a single muscle while she was frozen, as if she was in the presence of a fearsome predator.
Rias and the others were not far away. They all staggered backwards and were prevented from breathing. Their hearts seemed to have frozen in their chests as they felt the frightening aura that was emanating from Issei. Each of them was seized by an incomprehensible, instinctive fear, as if they were facing a dangerous, unstoppable predator.
The worst of them was Koneko who was hugging herself. Tears began to fall from her eyes as she watched something that no one but her could see.
It was not a human or a devil.
It was the personification of death in its most frightening form.
The terror Koneko felt was indescribable. Her body shook uncontrollably, and she could barely contain the sobs that escaped her throat. Her eyes fixed on Issei were filled with despair and dread, as if she was looking directly into the face of death itself.
Time for all of them seemed to pass very slowly as they witnessed and felt something that seemed to be inexplicable.
...
And then, Issei moved quickly.
With a quick and precise movement, Issei advanced towards the Stray Devil, Vazior, with the clear intention of attacking her. His aura intensified even more, and he readied his blades.
Vazior, for her part, even though she was frozen, sensed the impending danger and raised her spears, preparing to face Issei. She knew there was no way she could beat him. No way to beat someone capable of leaving her frozen with murderous intent alone. However, that didn't mean she wouldn't fight.
The first moves were lightning fast. Issei lunged forward, deftly deflecting Vazior's attacks with his daggers. Each movement was fluid and precise, demonstrating impressive combat skill. In response, Vazior tried to strike him with her spears, but Issei nimbly dodged.
Issei's blades flashed as he retaliated with powerful attacks, slicing through the air and launching swift blows towards the monster. Vazior defended himself with his spears, but the power of Issei's attacks was overwhelming. The battle was becoming more and more intense, and the ground around them shook with the force of the blows.
Blood was spilled with each exchange of blows, however, all the blood was Vazior's. She could not compete with his speed. She could not compete with his speed. It was simply insane. The sinister smile that devil was sending... How the hell did someone so scary become a servant of that girl?
Blood was pouring out of Vazior's body, creating a truly macabre painting around Issei. Every cut, every puncture, everything was done with mastery and precision. The young devil was completely immersed in the fight, his face was filled with a rather frightening expression that only Vazior was able to see.
As the battle continued, the other members of the group watched in disbelief at Issei's performance.
Vazior tried to resist, but her efforts were in vain in the face of Issei's unstoppable fury. The monster's blood now mixed with the little bit of sweat that dripped from Issei's body, but that didn't seem to bother him one bit. On the contrary, the sight of the blood splashing on his skin made him feel alive, awakening a primitive desire within him.
Each blow Issei delivered seemed to take a little more of Vazior's sanity away. The creature was not only being defeated physically, but also psychologically. It knew from the start that it would never be able to win, but it still tried because it wanted to live.
And so, the fight reached its climax. Issei, in a powerful final move, cut Vazior's spears in half and knocked her down with a devastating blow. The monster fell to the ground, breathing heavily, while Issei remained standing, her body covered in blood but without any significant injuries.
Without any hesitation, Issei drove both blades into the monster's head, causing a large amount of blood to splatter on its face.
Silence hung over the place, and for a moment, everyone was static. Koneko was still completely overcome with fear. Akeno and Rias were too, but they were recovering quickly. Incredibly, Kiba was the first to fully recover.
He looked at Issei in disbelief at what he just witnessed.
"I... I didn't know you were so strong, Issei-kun," he commented.
Yes, no one expected Issei to be so strong. Rias thought he could handle the Stray Devil with some difficulty, not that he would be able to slaughter it so ruthlessly. He also seemed to be a master when it came to using those two daggers, which made it clear that he had been training with them for a long time.
However, it didn't make any sense.
How... how could that boy who is the leader of the perverted trio, known to run from the kendo club every time he is caught spying on the girls, be so creepy?
After finally calming down, Rias tried to talk to him.
"Issei... are you okay?"
However, to everyone's surprise, Issei didn't answer with words. Instead, he just smiled, a macabre, almost frightening smile. His gaze was fixed on Vazior's inert body, covered in blood. He raised his red-soiled hand and watched the crimson liquid dripping through his fingers.
It's almost as if he enjoyed all the blood on his body, as if he feasted on the blood on his body.
Koneko was hugging on Akeno's legs who was watching everything cautiously.
"Issei? Are you okay?" Rias tried to get his attention again.
He then turned his gaze to Rias, still smiling awkwardly.
"Tell me, Rias-senpai. Isn't it amazing? The smell of that blood... it's so invigorating, so... pleasurable," he said, with a tone of voice that conveyed a strange fascination.
Rias again felt her heart freeze at hearing such words.
"It's like I'm... home," he murmured, almost to himself.
She did not know what to say. Yet one thing was certain.
Koneko had never been wrong before.
He is dangerous.
Dangerous and scary.
Well, that ending was pretty gruesome, huh? And before you ask, no, he didn't remember the Hunter's Dream. However, after spending several years in that place, even if he forgot the dream, he won't forget the feeling of the hunt. Unlike when he fought Dohnaseek, he will remember it.
And yes, this Issei would have been able to beat Dohnaseek. I will address in the next chapter a rather crucial reason why he lost as well. It has to do with the "limiter" Rias put on him when he reincarnated him, as his body in the original wouldn't have been able to handle that much power.
I know that Issei probably should have been able to kill Vazior faster than he did here, but I really got carried away and wanted to do a little action scene. Writing fight scenes is not my specialty, so I will practice whenever I can in this story. Well, it didn't get extremely long either, after all, it's just a Stray Devil.
Although no one has asked, I will still speak up. Will I follow the original DXD storyline? To some extent, yes. At least in the beginning. But don't worry, there will be several changes because of the crossover with Bloodborne that will cause the original plot to be kicked very early.
Always remember, this is a crossover with Bloodborne. There are no happy stories for everyone in Bloodborne.
Well, that's pretty much it. Let me know what you think of this chapter, please. Your comments really cheer me up.
Also let me know what you thought of the little 'fight scene', if there is anything to improve. Constructive criticism is welcome.
