The Black Dragon
"You all know the drill," Kira says. She approaches Vorpax with a flurry of fists. Vorpax takes on many of the hits before delivering one of her own. The force of the blow sent Kira flying into a building only a few yards away. Her back and skull slam into the concrete of the building hard enough to cause a thin crater. However, Kira was able to manipulate the chi in her body to prevent the injury from being a fatal one. She stumbles back to her feet, slowly walking back toward the woman.
"You should mind your history, girl," Vorpax said. "Do you know why the Lords sought my people's extinction?"
"I tend to leave the past in the past," Kira says as she numbs parts of her body using chi. She then channels some of it into her two butterfly knives, readying them in her hands. Vorpax runs towards the woman ready to punch her again. Kira observes the woman. She ducks and spins her body to the right. Her arm extended, the blade cuts through Vorpax's abdomen. The woman reaches for her stomach and looks back. Kira swiftly crosses her blades through the woman's chest. Vorpax is stunned. Kreeya looks at her daughter as she falls forward.
"NO!" Kreeya yelled. The power of her voice rumbles the battlefield, even causing some of her enemies and allies to fall to their knees or bottoms. She dashes toward the girl at an unnatural speed. Kobra attempts to run to Kira's aid, but is stopped by Fang. Fang leaps toward Kobra with his claw and swipes at the man's face. Kobra holds onto his face with one hand and conjures a dark colored flare in his other hand. He slams the flare on the ground causing a short range explosion to put some distance between them. Tasia raises up from the ground, seeing the woman heading for Kira.
I'd be better here. Tasia thought, returning her focus on Skarlet. The two have a short standoff before crossing blades. Tremor raises the earth infront of the woman, but she uses her strength to punch her way through as she gets closer to Kira. Kabal zips across the battlefield and rushing to grab Kira and move her away. He successfully scoops her up, but they are knocked back to the ground as Darius charges into the man.
"You've got to be kidding me," Kabal remarks as he raises himself up. Luckily, Kreeya slowed down as she got closer to Vorpax. She kneels down and turns her daughter's body over. She places her hand on her daughter's heart. Nothing.
"Curse you all," Kreeya muttered.
"Don't die!" Anomaly yells to her subordinates. They look back at the woman with a shocked expression. Kira smiles.
"I knew it," Kira expressed.
"If you all die to them," Anomaly continued, "I can't bring you back."
"You promised us eternal life, Edenian!" Kreeya yelled.
"If we succeed," Anomaly clarified.
"You liar!"
"Hurry up and kill them you guys!" Kira roars. Her allies nod. Quan Chi grits his teeth and slams numerous skulls into Tremor's body. It does nothing to the man except cause him to stumble back a bit. He charges his power before blasting a beam of light into his chest. Simultaneously, Shang Tsung does the same. However, Tremor quickly changes the rock formation into a hard crystal-like material. The blasts coming from the two men are reflected directly toward Quan Chi. Before he's able to react and fully summon a portal, the two blasts penetrate his chest. The flames from Shang Tsung's attack sets the undead sorcerer on fire. Shang Tsung stumbles away from Quan Chi as he hears the man's dying scream.
"Fool," Tremor comments before turning his attention to Shang Tsung. Tasia and Skarlet continue their fight against one another. Tasia spits on the ground before observing the blood of her enemy on her blades.
"What a waste of my talents," she boasted. "You're not like you were years ago."
"Still enough to stop you," Skarlet said before creating a blood spear. Tasia swipes downward, causing a gust of sharp wind to pass through the woman. Skarlet's body splits in three right before her like a banana being peeled. She spins her blades, knocking the blood off of them before focusing on Kreeya, who seemed to still be in shock by her daughter's death. Kobra continues his fight with Fang, constantly wailing on the man. Capitol fires multiple shots from his rifle towards Kobra, who rolls out of the way.
"This is the end for you all," he shouted. He continued firing off his rounds toward each individual member, with his bullets bouncing off Tremor's back. Suddenly, Capitol noticed that only five of the members were present. Before he could turn once more, a burning beam of light strikes the man's shoulder blade. He falls to his knees grunting as he holds his hand over the burn on his back. He looks up to find a menacing Jarek staring over him as smoke appears from Jarek's eye patch.
"Never Capitol," Jarek says, "the Black Dragon LIVE ON!" He grabs ahold of the man and drags him into the darkness behind a mountain of debris. Cries of pain, the harsh crackle of bones, and the mush of blooding organs was all that could be heard from it. After a few seconds, Jarek slowly walks around to the light. Only one of Capitol's fingers was visible as the rest of what was left of him was either hiding behind that debris or covering Jarek's face and body.
Kobra looks at the distracted Fang and pounces atop of him. The young man begins punching him over and over in the nose, lip, and jaw. Left hook. Right hook. Straight punch. Over and over he continuous punches the man until the lower section of his jaw was caved. Kobra stops himself, shaking uncontrollably. He stares into his hands as the blood of Fang trailed off of them. He thinks back to the time he first killed a man. Someone who was on the run for murder. He only wanted to test his strength back then. He didn't know that he would take on the crime of his victim. He remembers that when he was placed into the cop car, one of the officers looked back and questioned if he could've saved that strength for the Special Forces. That officer was Fang.
Anomaly laughs hysterically as her allies fall. Metric seemed unfazed by the deaths as well, though still shaken up by the presence of the black dragon. Kreeya releases her daughter and stands tall. Her shadow looks over the battlefield as she climbs atop of a large structure, flames rising behind her. Everyone stared, lowering their weapons as if knowing they knew their efforts were futile. Shang Tsung observes, still keeping his distance from Tremor.
"Five," Anomaly said. "Of the millions in Earthrealm, it only took five of you to thin out my numbers."
"Make it six," Kabal says as his arms and hook swords hung behind him. Darrius's head rolls down the bottom of the crater. His glasses were far away from them. Streaks trailed from them all the way to where Darrius's headless body lied.
"Six," anomaly corrected. "Now, what of the others?" The members of the Black Dragon look around at the last of Anomaly's undead army: Queen Kreeya, Shang Tsung, and Metric.
"The only real threats to us are Kreeya and Shang Tsung," Kabal boasts. "Tremor can handle the sorcerer. Big boss can deal with big boss. The rest of us'll take care of the grieving parent."
"Its this grieving mother's job to take care of children," Kreeya responded menacingly. Jarek sneaks past everyone and runs directly for Anomaly.
"What are you doing?" Kira shouted.
"Talking gets us nowhere," Jarek responded. "Why not handle them while they're distracted."
"Distracted?" Anomaly questioned. "You're suppose to sneak up on me when I'm not listening you buffoon." Anomaly directs her Naginata toward the man. However Jarek swiftly blasts the weapon from her hand with the heat vision coming from his eyes.
"It's not you I'm after," he responded. The man turned a hard left, meeting the gaze of Metric. Metric swiftly grabs ahold of his pistol, but something stops him. Loud buzzing comes from his ear piece, distracting even Jarek. His facial expression grows dim and he looks around at all of the Black Dragon members. He then stares at Jarek, who was grabbing at the man's head.
"They're—" Metric mutters something to Jarek. Jarek releases the man from his grip and grits his teeth. He turns his back to Metric, staring at a faint glare in the distance.
"No. That stupid b—" His words were cut off. A bullet struck his only good eye and he died in an instant. Kira's eyes widen. Kobra squeezed his hand as a sense of silence surrounded the battlefield. Anomaly and Kreeya were confused by what happened. Kabal stopped in his tracks and looked at his deceased comrade's body plop onto the ground. Tremor didn't move away from Shang Tsung's sight.
"Jarek!" Kira cried out. No one was ready. Kabal was sniped from a far away building. Anomaly peeked over and saw the sniper's alledged crew tackling him. She then turned to the one who killed Jarek and smiled as he was already subdued. The bullets fired at Tremor clearly bounced off of his body. Tasia wasn't so lucky. Whatever was laced in those bullets ate away at her body from the inside. She was able to survive the attack due to her immortality, but the outer layer of her body was starting to crumble. Kira grew sick by the way she looked. Kobra and Kira's heightened awareness allowed them to move out the way of the bullets in time. Kira's heart raced as it she was once again near death. She looks at Tremor and finds Shang Tsung coming from behind and grabbing the mans head. The sorcerer channeled his power through his fingertips and fries Tremor's soul. As it weakens, he slowly pulls it from the man's body. However, Tremor forms a sharp diamond from his back, piercing the Sorcerer's heart. Kobra conjures a destructive flare and shoots it directly toward Tremor. As the man pulls away from the weakened sorcerer, the dark flare snatches him and sends him to the sky. Seconds later, a large explosion decorates the sky.
"You've slain my daughter pathetic fools!" Kreeya yells "You will die!" Kreeya leaps from the building and lands directly in front of Tasia. The girl tries to step away, but she's too late as Kreeya slams her arm into the girl's abdomen. She then grabs the girl by her shirt to prevent her from soaring across the battlefield. With a lift into the air, Kreeya slams her fist into the body of the woman, this time infusing her own attack with Chi. The impact of Tasia's body slamming into the ground instantly turned her into a pool of blood and shattered bones—almost like a shattered bowl of soup.
"Tasia!" Tremor roared. Beneath him, the ground rumbled violently. Buildings within hundreds of yards started to crumble—in particular, those where the snipers that killed his allies were. Before the wave could reach the shores, Kreeya dashes into the man. She digs her hands inbetween Tremor's chest, completely penetrating the hardened crystal guarding it. She pulls her hands apart, ripping the man in half as blood, organs, and rubble littered the ground beneath her.
She then turns her sights to Kobra. She slowly walks towards him picking up her sword. She slams her blade into a nearby piece of rubble, causing a spark to burn the clothing of the soldiers she killed. The fires started to spread throughout the battle field as chaos ensued. The soldiers began to shoot at her, but it was as if the bullets had no affect on her as they bounced off of her body. As she comes dangerously close to the black dragon member, the soldiers hold their fire. Kreeya stares into Kira's eyes.
"You killed my daughter you imp," she says before looking into Kobra's eyes. "So you will die last." Kobra summons a chi infused flare in his hand before balling it into a fist. With a straight punch, he...does nothing. Kreeya stands still, mugging the man. She grabs him by his shirt and lifts him in the air.
"How?" he questioned.
"If you are the only warriors capable of this power, this world is disappointing," she says before sliding the tip of her sword into Kobra's throat. She lifts the sword upward holding the mans head as if it were on a platter. She releases his shirt from her grip and flips his head into the air before grabbing it. She hooks the head onto her waist like a pouch before turning to the frustratingly disturbed Kira.
"Kobra…" she sobbed. "We should've waited. He should be here."
"What?" Kreeya asked, head cocked to the side. "Have you never witnessed a true warrior's death before?"
"Elder Lords watch over you," Kira prayed as she looked at her fallen brother's head. She then looks to Anomaly, falling onto her knees. "I will not willingly allow you to take this realm. I only ask of one thing…" She picks herself back up from the ground. Anomaly seems intrigued by her possible request. One she already anticipated after the incident.
"You lot have earned it," Anomaly responded. Kira runs to the woman with both butterfly knives out. A series of swipes come across Anomaly, but the girl's defeated spirit made her actions sloppier. Anomaly seemed to feel some pity for the girl. It wasn't as engaging to fight her as it was moments ago. Anomaly knocked the blades from the girls hands with her naginata. She drops her weapon and grabs the girl by the neck with both hands. Anomaly's clutch tightens, thumbs pressed against her windpipe. Kira struggled for air, but not to attack the witch.
"Chan," she calls out internally. Her vision darkens and muscles weaken. It only took a few seconds for her arms to fall. Her eyes were dull before her body was dropped onto the ground. The Black Dragon were no more.
At the Special Forces Headquarters, numerous soldiers pinned Sonya to the ground. Numerous guns were drawn on her and numerous other agents are shown to be reprimanded as well.
"Damn it," Jax yells. "DAMN IT!" He slams his fists onto the monitors, inadvertently destroying them. He steps to Sonya, who was lying on the ground. "Was it that important Sonya!"
"You let them go on for too long Jax!" she yelled. "You should've let me crush Kano's skull back on the island. That eye…"
"This ain't about Kano!" he yells.
"Jax!" Johnny shouted.
"Johnny, this isn't your fight."
"She's my wife, this is my fight!" Johnny responded.
"This is not good," Shujinko said. "MOKAP is far from here and there's no way to contact them in time."
"They'll get killed," Jax said. He points towards Sonya. "Because of you." Sonya scoffs before resting the front of her face onto the floor.
"Something's wrong," Kenshi said. The blind man directed his ears toward different parts of the facility. One of the soldiers' hearts was beating much faster than the others. Not out of fear, but more like anxiety. Their heavy footsteps rushed toward the exit from the top room where they all resided. The soldier looked familiar to him. Yellowish skin. A Mongolian. Kenshi leapt to his feet and reached his hand toward the door. "They're here!" he yelled. But their reactions were much too slow as an explosion took out the building.
