The Hosu Botanical gardens were usually closed at midnight on a Monday.
But for those who didn't sleep, it was the best spot for a meeting between heads. Or so Asmodeus Slim said, the man was currently leading Izuku towards the building, humming quietly to himself as they went.
Midoriya had Toga skipping beside him, the younger girl had pointedly refused to go home; wanting to 'go on a vampire adventure' like the others had.
Izuku had hesitated, but grudgingly agreed, especially since he couldn't get a hold of Tokoyami for back-up.
Young and a bit ditzy, but she knew how to use a knife.
"Don't talk," Izuku instructed her, "we're here for a conversation, not a fight."
"But I get stabby if they attack right?" She questioned innocently.
"You said that without any kind of hesitation or remorse, that concerns me…but yes. Get stabby."
Asmodeus laughed at their back and forth, "your disciple is very whimsical, count, your nights must be full of laughter."
"Izu doesn't laugh!" Toga chirped, "he's too serious for that."
"That was a test on not talking Toga." Izuku quipped, "and you failed."
Asmodeus smiled at their banter as they reached a private wing of the gardens, guarded by two young men in suits who immediately bowed respectfully.
"Count." The droned at the same time, "we welcome you, our esteemed leader is waiting for you inside."
"I shall wait out here." Asmodeus said ,nodding a bit to the two men before settling a bit off to the side with a small leather book.
Izuku walked into the room, taking off his goggles and mask as he did, "stay over here." he said to Toga as he spied an older man under a juniper tree.
"Awe but I wanna hear." She whined.
"And you will, just stay over here. It's respectful."
"Aw, okay.'
Izuku shook his head and continued towards the Juniper tree, as he approached, he was able to see exactly who he was going to talk to.
He was an older man, his limbs and face withered and wrinkly from the countless years he's no doubt lived through, his hair was pure white, and short, neatly combed and shiny; his skin was like polished bronze, he wore a set of blue jeans and a red button up shirt, and currently he was working on small winter lilies, nowhere near close to being mature.
"I always find that gardening brings a calm mind." he said, his voice didn't fit his physique, it was smooth and rich, a baritone in it that spoke of power, "it's something I miss doing in the sun, but i'm not ready to deal with the eternal lethargy that plagues day walkers." he stood up and started walking forward, as he stepped onto the stone pathway his body seemed to shimmer, growing taller and broader as his clothes changed into more traditional robes, his hair growing darker, longer and fastening themselves into tight braids that reached down to the middle of his back, "I am Yosuke, I thank you, Count Midoriya, for answering my call."
"It's only respectful, thank you for receiving me graciously." Izuku said with a small bow.
"It is only common courtesy, after all, you are a coven unto yourself, you deserve the same respect I command, if not more so….but sadly, this is not about pleasantries." he began to walk, motioning for Izuku to follow, which he did, Toga slowly keeping pace with them from a few steps behind.
"Have you had to deal with the Vatican's agents before?" Yosuke asked.
"I know of them," Izuku said vaguely as Alucard sent him memories of Anderson and others he'd met and faced, "haven't dealt with them here in Japan."
"They're influence is negligent in these areas, the Shinto priests and other temples and monks tend to take care of supernatural matters, including dealing with the vampire covens, they still have some Hero academies in Japan, but other than that they're low key…until these past two months."
"What's changed?"
"A couple of their newest recruits and experiments deserted, rumor has it they're here, in Hosu, and the Church wants them back, which is why last night, they raided my coven."
"Pretty bold move for a couple of runaways," Izuku muttered, "why?"
"I'm not sure, perhaps one of their quirks is invaluable, or maybe they witnessed something they weren't supposed to," Yosuke mused, "any number of reasons really, the church has always been bold, but this…this is new."
"What are you asking of me today?" Izuku asked as they stopped by a large window overlooking the city, "are you planning to go against the church?"
"Not anytime soon," he said dryly, "No, I ask you here today, to grant asylum to those two deserters."
"So you do know where they are."
"Unfortunately, no." Yosuke sighed, "when we caught wind of their approach, I had the two abandon the coven, I could not risk my people, we lost six in the raid last night, younger bats who couldn't stand the disrespect."
"My condolences," Izuku mumbled sincerely, "but how can I help? I don't have a coven."
"Do you not?" Yosuke asked, looking to where Toga had gotten distracted by a blood red flower, "you already have a fledgling, and if my connections in the Shizuoka coven are to be believed, there were four others who accompany you."
"They're friends, not a blood coven."
"Is there much of a difference?" Yosuke chuckled, "they would die for you, and you for them, that is all it takes."
"Still, I don't know how much I can help."
"Your name alone would stave off their advances, the No-Life King is still feared by the Vatican, after all, you nearly destroyed their Iscariot Organization back during the Blood War."
Izuku noded mutely, "if I do this, I'll need something of theirs to track them, I won't be able to personally begin the search, but my familiars will handle it until I'm able to join."
Yosuke bowed to him, "thank you, Count Midoriya…" he reached into the folds of his robes and pulled out a bundle of cloth, he unfolded it and revealed prayer beads, "they're names are Gabriel and Helena, twins, white hair and peculiar eyes."
"Peculiar?" he asked as Baskerville materialized, sniffing the prayer beads.
``You'll know when you see them, also, they have wings, I hate to call them angel wings, but they're as apt a description as can be."
"Baskerville," Izuku intoned, making the dog perk its head up, several other dogs appearing around him, including bloodhounds, "fetch."
Baskerville gave a baying howl and the dogs thundered away, fading into the shadows. "I will keep you updated as much as I can." Izuku reassured him, "Though I don't know how much I can do."
I thank you, Count Midoriya." Yosuke bowed, then brought another bundle out from his sleeve, this one was a wooden box, long and thin, "as thanks, I return to you a weapon designed specifically for your predecessor."
Izuku felt a cold spike of recognition shoot up his spine as Yosuke pulled the box open, revealing the scratched and gleaming Casull, the .454 handgun resting on a bed of velvet, "and where did you find this?" Izuku asked softly, doing his best to keep the rising glee out of his voice, hand hovering over it.
"When I heard you had survived, I sent men to the sight of Alucard's last fight, he had two weapons, one we could not find, this one…this one was under a pile of rubble, covered in blood, we purified it and fixed it; and now I present it to you once more, No Life King."
With that Izuku took it, smiling at the weight, "I'm not sure how helpful this will come in my endeavors as a hero, but I thank you nonetheless."
"The supernatural has integrated well into this new world." Yosuke said, straightening up, "they move along in tandem with the criminals of the underworld, may this keep you safe."
"Thank you, my new friend." Izuku said, bowing to him as he stowed the Casull into his jacket, he could feel its weight disappear, being pulled into the dark miasma of the shadows.
"Do not thank me for returning what is rightfully yours." Yosuke chuckled, "and please, take care of those two when you find them."
"On my honor." he said, bowing once more, "until next time."
Yosuke inclined his head as Izuku began walking away, Toga immediately falling into step beside him.
"Do you want me to help find them?" Toga asked.
"You have a more pressing matter to deal with," Izuku reminded her, "more importantly than that, you're still in middle school, I'm not about to send you off to potentially fight Priests…never thought I'd say that." he grumbled, sighing, "my life was way less complicated before I went to UA, can I go back to that time?"
"But then you'd be bored." Toga giggled, deflating a bit, "I guess I should be worried about school, but it's so boring compared to all of this!"
"That's a good thing Toga."
"Boooo."
Izuku sighed once more, inclining his head to the door guards and Asmodeus, who put his book up as they left. "You know what, it's not my job, but I'm still not giving you a 'mission'."
Toga pouted but nodded, looking up curiously as Asmodeus disappeared into the shadows, "so when will you have the time to go? Don't you got hero school and what not?" she asked.
"I'll need to call Seras, with her help, I'll have an entire week to look for them on my own."

Izuku groaned as he trudged towards school, head drooping a bit, "so tired." He muttered, popping a blood pod in, he hadn't been able to take his early morning nap, having gotten back to the house just as Yukari had woken up, leading him to watching cartoons with his little sister before having to rush to school.
"Oi Dracula." Bakugo called gruffly, he was leaning against the gate of the school, waiting for him. "Where were you? You missed the usual train."
"Yuka distracted me, had to shadow travel." he yawned, "more Vampire bullshit last night, I'll update you all at some point."
Bakugo grumbled as they started walking, "do you know what's going on with Temari?" he asked, doing his best to sound dismissive, "she's been moody all week and it's really pissing me off."
"Have you tried talking to her?" Izuku questioned dryly, making Bakugo's glower deepen, "It's a wonder she doesn't just tell you everything with that disposition."
"Fuck off Deku," he grumbled, shoving his hands into his pockets, "Not my fault she's so hard to talk to."
"Not really, you just suck at talking." he chuckled nervously when the boy glared at him, "it really isn't that hard, 'hey Temari, is something bothering you?' See? See how easy that is?"
"You know how easy it is for you to die?" Bakugo growled out, making Izuku sweat.
"I-i'm pretty sure I'm semi-immortal." Izuku mumbled timidly.
"We'll push that semi." he hissed as they reached the classroom.
"I'm still right though."
"Fuck off!"
"Hi guys!" Uraraka chirped as they walked in, "how was your ride here?"
"Tiring." Izuku mumbled while Bakugo just scoffed, "It was a train ride round cheeks, the fuck else am I supposed to say?"
"You're gonna be a winning personality when you hit the big screen Kacchan." Kaminari snickered.
"I'll fry roast you pikachu!"
"Not proving him wrong." Temari called, making Jirou and Uraraka laugh.
Izuku slunk into his desk, letting his head fall with a thunk!
"Training Toga takes that much of a toll on you?" JIrou asked.
"No, I ran into…a bit of a situation last night."
"Please tell me you weren't fighting vampires again." Jirou groaned quietly.
"No, this time I was negotiating a tracking service. As well as trying to arrange asylum for Catholics."
"I…what?" Jirou asked, Temari and Bakugo both looking over as well.
"...I'll fill you in at lunch." he sighed wearily, "Just thinking about it stresses me out."
Before Jirou could press him further, Aizawa came into the room, "everyone to their seats." he ordered, looking around and satisfied to find everyone already in their seats and quiet, "alright, today is a hero informatics class, we will be discussing something that will affect you for years to come."
Everyone leaned forward in anticipation, and slight fear.
"You'll be choosing your hero names."
Instantly the room was in an uproar of cheering, silenced only by a glowing eyed glare from Aizawa.
"This is important," Aizawa continued, "your code names will be what the community at large will know you as, choose the wrong one-"
"-and there'll be Hell to pay!" Midnight exclaimed as she sauntered in.
"Midnight here will be judging your names, approving them based on appropriateness."
"And choose wisely children, these are technically temporary, but even a wrong pick here can outline your hero career for life! *Cough* eraserhead *cough*."
Aizawa rolled his eyes, "blame Mic for that one." he muttered. Climbing into his sleeping bag, "make it quick, we got a lot to cover before friday."
Izuku looked down at the whiteboard Midnight passed out, he'd been thinking for a while about his hero name, and in his mind, there was only one name that he felt he could take.
The presentation of the names went fairly quickly, with Tsuyu presenting her hero name Froppy proudly first. Soon followed by the rest of the class eagerly presenting. Temari went with Ultragirl, an homage to the former number 2 hero. Bakugo-after quietly arguing with an amused Temari-went with Ground Zero. finally it was Izuku's turn, the tired vampire slowly walked up to the desk, showing his white board.
"Morbius?" Kaminari questioned.
"What does that mean Midoriya?" Tooru asked.
"It's the name of the man who trained me when I was younger." Izuku rasped, "an older man with a vampire quirk, his was different then mine, but close enough that he was able to teach me how to keep control of myself…I knew him for a few months before he died trying to break me out. He didn't even reach the door; I'm taking his name to remember what he did for me, and to maybe do what he did for me, for others."
"That's a good name Izuku," Midnight praized as the boy returned to his desk, the others in town nodding along, some slightly uncomfortably, "alright, Iida, you're up!"
Iida, who'd been glaring down at the table, just presented his first name, leaving the room as soon as the bell rang.
"He's still having a hard time." Uraraka said sadly as she walked with Izuku and Jirou, Bakugo had stopped Temari before they'd left, telling them to go on ahead, "his brother loss the use of his legs, he won't be able to be a hero anymore."
"That's rough." Jirou sympathized, "is there anything they can do?"
Uraraka shook her head mutely, "not that Iida told me, I wish there was something we could do."
"All we can do is be there for him "Tokoyami said, walking up to their side with Sato.
"I gave him a Bunt Cake I made the other night," Sato said glumly, "I hope it at least tastes good."
"You know how to bake?" Uraraka asked.
"Yeah, I do it for training, it's easier to eat cake then raw sugar sometimes."
"What are you thinking about?"
Uraraka, Tokoyami, and Sato looked over to Jirou, who was staring at Izuku, who was looking thoughtfully outside.
"Whats up guys?" Sato asked, looking between them.
"Nothing for now," Izuku said carefully, "this isn't something I can start talking about without at least knowing if it would work, and for that I would need to talk to a new friend, as well as my mentor."
"You already have a internship lined up?" Uraraka gasped in surprise.
"The dark lord is once again prepared." Tokoyami said gravely.
"Something like that." Izuku said, before falling face first into the ground.
"Midoriya!" Uraraka cried out in panic, sato likewise looking about frantically for help.
"Don't worry guys," Jirou sighed as she checked over Izuku, who was beginning to snore, "he hasn't slept in 24 hours, guess he finally couldn't stop himself."
"Poor little guy," Sato sighed, picking him up and slinging him over his shoulders, "too bad we can't put him in his sleeping bag."
"Eh, he'll do it himself if he's uncomfortable." Jirou said dismissively as they continued. "He's probably gonna need the sleep, this next week's gonna be killer."

In the dark alleyways of Hosu, two robe clad figures ran from corner to corner.
"We can't stay here too long," the smaller figure whispered, her voice sounded faraway, and underneath the cowl of her robe her right eye glowed a brilliant gold. "They are coming."
"We head to the east then," Her partner whispered before stopping suddenly, "hide." he ordered, and immediately she hid behind a few trash cans.
"Gabriel." she froze, she knew that voice, that irish brogue.
"Father Anderson." the newly named Gabriel responded, "you know we won't go back."
"Aye, that I do." he sighed, two bayonets appearing in his hands, "but my orders aren't to convince you to come back. "
A mace appeared in Gabri's hand. His left eye glowing blue under his own hood, "you may try whatever you wish, Father, but by God's grace, we WILL not return."
As the two clashed, behind the trash cans, Helena sat, staring off into empty air, "he is coming," she whispered, "our salvation, the bane of the church.'
"He is coming."
