The Broken Boosted Gear
By Try Another Time
While Issei and Isaiah continue to talk, the rest of the group watch them thanks to the cameras that surround the whole place. This was supposed to be a private conversation but curiosity won over respect.
"The famous Welsh Dragon is advising a child on why vengeance is just temporary pleasure. I can't believe most of the things that had been happening since he appeared. Is he really the Welsh Dragon?" Okita asked.
"He has changed a lot since then. It may have something to do with his experiences with other booster gear hosts and Issei. If he were the same Welsh Dragon that fought and killed anything that opposed him before the age of humans began, we would have been in a lot of trouble when he escaped from the boosted gear." Raynare touches her left shoulder as the memories of that time come rushing in.
The flames, the blood, bodies falling from the skies. A true war that no human war could ever match. A war of gods and mythologies.
Asia looks at the fallen angel. "Did you fight him back then?"
Raynare shakes her head. "That was no fight, I barely survived. When the war between factions took place and the two heavenly dragons joined the fight, all the other factions had to refocus their efforts in taking them down. I fought alongside several of my peer fallen angels and watched as many of them were killed by the two dragons. Ddraig and Albion were beasts that didn't care about anything except for their rivalry. They didn't care for factions or ideologies, they fought anything that dared to challenge them. Gods, fallen angels, angels, devils, and other mythological beings felt as the fight against them continued until they were taken down. The war was bad from the beginning but once Ddraig and Albion joined in we started to go downhill from then on."
"Not even I could oppose his strength. Among all the angels and creations of father, us seraphs are the strongest and even then, we were far from being on the same level as the heavenly dragons." Rael said. "The fact that he doesn't seem to hold a grudge against any of us after gaining a new body is proof that he is no longer that young dragon or that is what I want to believe."
"Would you say that he was the same as Trihexa?" Okita asks.
Rael and Raynare twitch at the mention of the beast of 666.
"That… Trihexa is a whole different can of worms. Ddraig and Albion killed gods but Trihexa is the main reason why many pantheons came to an end. We killed Ddraig once but nobody could kill Trihexa. That being is out of our realm and not even the God of the Bible was capable of facing him." Raynare admits as her body shakes in fear. "Only Great Red and Ophis could be compared to it. I doubt that any of them would help in a fight against Trihexa."
The younger girls look at the angel and fallen angel with curiosity. They had read about the beast but nothing could clearly describe what Trihexa was or how powerful it was.
"Father sealed it and I pray that nobody finds that beast ever again. We cannot face that monster ever again and I doubt that the Welsh Dragon would be enough to defeat it." Rael touches her right hand and the pain she had to endure back then comes back to her.
Kuroka looks at the two and then speaks. "You two really had seen some unspeakable stuff. Kind of make sense why the alliance was so openly accepted by the three factions."
Rael nods. "We who survived the war should never try to start something like that ever again. The errors of the past should be remembered and not committed again. Father is no longer here and we should adapt to make sure that heaven continues to prosper even if it means leaving a few of his ideas behind. We can be better than our past selves."
"Most of us fallen angels don't want another war like that ever again. The heads of Grigori are all survivors of the war, all of them have been marked by the war in different ways. Azazel lost an arm and many of his past allies. After the war ended, he reflected for many years and took the choice to put Grigori's future first and let grudges go away. We who supported him as lab assistants watched since then how he focused on making sure that Grigori survived and became a strong united faction although Kokabiel alongside his followers doesn't seem to care for that. Kokabiel was marked differently by the war. He was angry at the fact that the conflict had stopped before the other factions were properly subjugated by Grigori. To Kokabiel, full subjugation is the only form of protecting his faction." Raynare explained. "I'm sure that he is trying to continue what he was unable to complete in the past."
"Kokabiel, he is the one that attacked Issei two years ago, isn't it?" Shirone asks.
"He is and he became the trigger behind our current Welsh Dragon." Kuroka looks at the TV. "He is the reason why Issei Hyoudou died and Issei Welsh was born. He unexpectedly led to the three factions sitting down and forming an alliance. Life truly works in unexpected ways." Kuroka continues to hug Shirone who is sitting on her legs.
Rias sighs after hearing all of this. "I still feel sad about it. If Kokabiel didn't attack Issei two years ago he may have lived a normal life. He is strong and he looks fine but I see it in his eyes. There's still pain and feelings that he is keeping hidden from us. He has to be blaming himself for the deaths of his parents."
Asia nods. "His emotions are strong and I don't think they are going to disappear that easily. I know I won't let mine go for some time." Asia thinks about the priest and the secrets they hid from her. She felt mad about it and even if she tried to find forgiveness for them, she was still struggling to find it. She was determined to follow the path that she was choosing with her own hands and not just a so-called destiny.
Before the conversation could continue a certain missing dragoness made her appearance. A teletransportation circle appeared in the living room and not too long after Tiamat appeared.
"Are we having a party? I don't remember this many people in my house." Tiamat said after seeing all of the people present.
"Welcome home. Rias, Shirone, and Okita came with the child that has joined her peerage. We were watching their conversation and discussing a few different themes." Raynare says.
Tiamat approaches the couch. "Rias Gremory, how's the new peerage member?"
"Issei is helping us with him. Sorry for entering your home without a previous invitation." Rias says.
"Don't worry about it. As long as you are respectful of my home and its inhabitants, I'm okay with you coming to visit. That includes you, Shirone." Tiamat pads the head of the young nekomata. She then turns to Okita. "Old man Okita. I take that you're here for the boy as well?"
"Yes, and could you please stop calling me old man? We both know that you're much older than me." Okita says.
"No can't do. Your face is that of an old man and your aura is that of an old man. Accept your age and status as an old man." Tiamat smiles before focusing on the TV. "Is the conversation between them going well?"
"Seems like it. They talk about the girl inside the egg who's named Tosca. She seems to be very important to the kid. Seems like a sibling but it could be something else in the future. They talked about Valper and other things as well." Rael says.
"Tosca? So that's the name of our daughter." Tiamat reflects on it.
"You're really into the motherhood deal," Raynare says.
"I have been waiting to form a family with him for a really long time. All of us were born into this world without parents and at some time solitude begins to affect us. Tannin is the biggest example of a single dragon that went all in once he began to have a family. I waited patiently and there's no way I will let it escape my grasp. When I met him, I knew that he was a hot-headed dragon but I fell for him and hoped for a long time that he would change. He did, although it took a long time and many obstacles. I know that he wants a family as well. It Is in our nature to want a place to return to." Tiamat says in a calm tone.
The other girls look at her with curiosity. Waiting for someone for so long seems almost insane but none of them could really understand how strong the feelings of a dragon were.
"Anyway, let's move on from talking about me and my mate. Rael, what's the next step for the church? We burned the Vatican down and killed all of the old heads in Rome. What are you going to do about the church?" Tiamat decides to switch themes after seeing how all the girls were looking at her with different expressions that varied from curiosity to excitement.
"But I want to hear more about your feelings for the Welsh Dragon. I have so many questions about the whole situation." Rael's eyes shine with complete curiosity and excitement.
"No. We can talk about that at another time." Tiamat argues.
"But-"
"No buts. Church now." Tiamat's eyes look fierce and determined.
Rael stares for a few seconds before she gives in. "You win this time but I will get that conversation. We have decided to divide the church into two. The religious side will have a complete reformation and this will involve a lot of changes which includes no pope and a new bible made by us. The side that involves the exorcists and holy artifacts will act directly under the orders of the seraphs. We can't have rogue exorcists nor can't we have artifacts being put in the hands of untrustful humans. We are going all out in this process although it is going to take some years to be completed."
"A new church, if you told me that the young seraphs would outgrow their father and finally take charge of the faction, I wouldn't believe it. Let's hope that this process doesn't end up with too much blood being spilled." Tiamat said.
Rael shakes her head. "It will have a lot of obstacles and many will oppose it but since Father died, we have been following the concept of 'the good of the many.' We need to adapt and with the alliance, we can't hold any punches back. We have seen too many errors and mistakes within the faction. It's time for us to take care of them and truly take care of humanity."
Asia nods. "I will pray to see that the future of the faction is one that truly takes care of humanity. As a human, I want to believe that you angels as the creations of God will truly protect and guide humanity, not just watch as we continue to do things such as the holy sword project."
"That's the goal but it is going to take time. Not everyone is going to be on board and the new changes will shake the church. Taking away the pope position and the bible made by the hands of humans is going to be just the first of many hits. Father allowed humans to interpret his words and teachings like they wanted which led to many misunderstood messages. Not everything is going to be perfect but we have to do our best. Father is gone but we are still here and need to become better for the sake of humanity." Rael admits.
"Does that mean that the church is going to have to accept the free will of man and the existence of devil contracts?" Kuroka asks.
"Sort of. As long as contracts don't lead to crimes and true sins such as murder, we can allow humanity to continue to indulge in the search for happiness through interactions with devils. Humans are complex and some just want happiness through unconventional means. As long as those means don't lead to other humans being hurt, we can allow that. What we can't allow are rogue devils that influence humans into doing crimes such as killing and anarchy for the sake of pleasure or monetary gain as some examples." Rael explains. "We are still conversing with Sirzechs and the rest of the heads of the devils in what type of contracts should be allowed."
"A work in progress then. A reformed church, a united Grigori, a new devil society, and a dragon in collaboration, an unexpected development. If you had asked me years ago if the three factions would ever come together thanks to the help of one dragon, I would laugh about it." Okita says.
" it Is possible because we have him. He is feared and respected by the three sides. He is the enforcer that can make this work. If there is an element that is causing problems, he can eliminate it. If Kokabiel reappears and tries to make more fallen angels join his side, he is going to fail for obvious reasons." Raynare explains.
"Rogue exorcists and church members can be put out by him without direct interference of angels." Rael continues.
"And the satan faction will think twice before moving a finger against the four great satans with him in the picture." Tiamat ends.
"But what would happen if he disappeared?" Shirone asks.
All of those presents look at her but Tiamat is the one that answers.
"He won't disappear. He died once and he was changed by the two strongest dragons once he got a new body. I can feel that he is far stronger than his previous self and Great Red told him to get even stronger. He will continue to grow and surpass the limits like he always had done. Ddraig and Albion were completely different from the rest of us dragons. They were born to continue to surpass the limits that we as dragons need to surpass to achieve greater highs. I'm strong but I can't ever hope to become the type of dragon that he is. Only Crom Cruach could be comparable to him at this moment and even then, I don't doubt that my mate will win in a fight between them." Tiamat said. Her tone was proud and confident.
Truly the confident words of someone who had seen many adversaries and had tasted defeat against beings such as Ophis.
The others couldn't argue against her especially after seeing some of the things he had done in just a few days.
Sometime after.
After the conversation between Issei and Isaiah, Okita decided that it was time for them to return to the underworld. He wanted to start with Isaiah's training as soon as possible.
"You have a good body for your age and I see potential in you but we need to refine you. As the knight of Rias, I want you to break the limits and become even better than I am. We need to start soon." Those were the words of Okita and Isaiah chose not to argue against them. He had a long path ahead of him and after being influenced by Issei's words he couldn't back down.
With that out of the way, the visit came to an end. It was time for Rias and Shirone to return to the underworld at least for the moment.
With their visitors out of the way, the group was left to take care of their previous affairs.
"Why does he have to sleep with you?" Kuroka asked.
"Because he is my mate and this is my house," Tiamat answered.
"He is a child."
"He is a dragon."
"Are they really going back to the same discussion?" Rael asks. The undercover seraph looks at the pair without understanding any of the sides of the argument.
"It seems like it," Raynare said before she went to the kitchen. "Does curry sound good?"
"Yes!" Kuroka and Tiamat said before going back to their staring contest.
The other members of the household rise their thumbs in approval.
Asia and Issei pay no attention to the pair as they are discussing other things.
"So Asia, this is the school that is the closest to the house. If we made the arrangements for next school year you would be starting school in 2 months from now. I just need to confirm your information and I will make the arrangements." Issei said as he wrote a few things in a small notebook.
"What about you? Don't you want to go back to school? Don't you want to recover at least that part of your normal life?" Asia asks.
Issei sighs. "I'm still trying to figure it out. I like to go back but I wouldn't learn or get anything by joining the school at this point. I like to enjoy school like any other child but I can't at least at this point. High school is a different deal but the elementary school doesn't make sense to me. I have memories of too many adults inside my mind, which means a lot of knowledge, and playing with children my age wouldn't be the best option. I also need to take care of the alliance and other things."
"But I would be alone then."
"No. You would be with kids your age. You have seen a lot of things but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy a childhood. You're not a nun anymore and with my support, you can do whatever you want to do." Issei looks at the egg on the table. "Once she comes out of that egg, she might also join you as well. Dragon or not dragon she is still a child as well."
Asia sees the expression on his face. He smiles but there is a hint of sadness. "You still can. Even if it is just a mask you can try to enjoy life as a kid."
"Dragon!"
"Child!"
The argument of Tiamat and Kuroka continues on the back.
"I need time to think about it but for now we need to focus on you. If you start with school, Raynare will stay with you most of the time. Of all of us, she makes the most sense and I'm confident that you will be safe with her." Issei looks at the kitchen and sees how the fallen angel is cooking dinner with no problems.
"Raynare does have the training to take care of the house and a child," Rael adds to the conversation.
"I'm a maid after all," Raynare says.
"Staying with Raynare does sound good but what about the missions. Don't you need her with you?" Asia asks.
"On those occasions, we will leave you in the care of Grigori or the Gremory household. I can't bring you into every place I go unless you can defend yourself. A mistake can lead to your death and I won't allow that." Issei says.
"What about if I start training?" Asia asks.
"Even then I wouldn't be bringing you to every place I go at least for now. Once you're older and much stronger we can talk about bringing you into all places but for now, I won't do it. The holy sword project was a one-time thing and I don't have any plans of doing it again. Humans are one thing but rogue devils and other kinds of enemies are completely different affairs. If I went to Asgard with you and the team, I would be worrying about Valkyries and Asgardians all the time. Each one of those can and will kill you if I don't pay attention." Issei explained.
"Odin does have a reason for disliking you. You invaded his realm and took one of his artifacts back in the day. You also injured at least 200 guards during the attack based on the report that heaven got." Rael says after remembering the event.
"I will apologize one day but he is not getting that artifact back. I also didn't kill anyone so he can let go of the stupid grudge. He got the chance to pierce my body with his spear back in the war already and I'm not burning Asgard to the ground because of it." Issei said.
Asia's face forms a little smile after seeing his reaction after the commentary of Rael. His small outbursts were one of the funniest things she had ever seen.
"Child!"
"Dragon!"
"Kuroka, Tiamat give it a rest. We all know that Tiamat and I will sleep in the same room. Kuroka just relaxes and lets it go. Tiamat and I will not close the line even if she tells you that we did the next morning. We are just sleeping on the same bed." A small blush appears on his face.
"But not for long." Tiamat smiles. She believes she has won the fight.
Kuroka blushes. "You see. She is a horny dragoness!" She points her finger at her.
Raynare nods. "That she is. She is a virgin after all. A several millennia-old virgin dragoness."
The living room grows quiet as Tiamat blushes.
"But don't feel sad or ashamed about it. Every single person in this house is a virgin. That includes me." Raynare continues.
Issei looks at Raynare. "But- "
"I fell from heaven because I read forbidden books such as a few grimoires. I didn't find any interest in falling from heaven because I felt attracted to humans like other angels." Raynare explains.
"She is indeed a pure fallen angel," Rael says. "A weird and unusual being among all fallen angels."
Kuroka looks at Raynare. "Not even one boyfriend? I get it when it comes to Tiamat but you are a different case."
"I found one or two guys that I liked but I never asked anyone out. They called me the fallen bookworm and you may expect I wasn't the most approachable girl around. Alcoholic-perverter-sama joked about it regularly. If I tell you the truth, I might even find girls more attractive in most cases." Raynare said.
Everyone looked surprised and many questions arose.
"Rael, how do angels fall from heaven?" Asia asks.
Rael looks at her. "Falling victim to desire is the most common way for an angel to fall or accepting a least one of the seven deadly sins. We angels are supposed to remain pure and not let desire consume us. We show affection but it's not the kind of affection that two people would show each other. We have to control our emotions and never let ourselves run wild. Raynare was part of the angels in charge of protecting forbidden knowledge and curiosity got the best of her. Azazel was originally a seraph alongside us and other of the heads of Grigori but the temptation of a human woman made him fall. Kokabiel fell due to his uncontrollable anger and rebellion against Father's will."
" It Is all about controlling desire and emotion. The same applies to those that can enter heaven. Is harder to get to heaven than it is to fall into the depths of the underworld. Sin is mostly about going out of control and doing damage to others. Once a soul lets go of all restraint it is easy to fall from grace." Raynare explains.
"And your search for knowledge was similar to an endless hunger. You truly are a weird fallen angel but really? Not even one relationship?"
"There was a close one. Mittelt was a close friend of mine. One of the closest friends I had. She could be described as my platonic lover which never turned physical and was the closest thing to a girlfriend." Raynare said.
"Mittelt, one of the last fallen angels to fall from heaven. She fell from the sky due to her insane pride. She was a rising star among the angels of her group. Attractive and proficient with the use of her powers but she believes herself to be superior to everyone else. Her wings began to turn black one day and the rest is history." Rael said.
"She is prideful but once she faced the other fallen angel, she realizes how weak she was. We became acquaintances after I helped her to cure her injuries after a fight with Kokabiel." Raynare began to put ingredients on the pot.
"Where is she at Raynare?" He felt something on his stomach and he was hoping it wasn't what he was expecting.
"You already know it. Kokabiel has a way with words and it seems that Mittelt made her choice. Maybe her pride is what led her to follow him but I imagined that one day I will get the chance to ask her the reason behind her betrayal." Raynare looked cold and her eyes turned darker.
Issei sighs. "Did Azazel know about it when he presented you to us?"
"Maybe but that doesn't matter. I only ask you one thing Welsh-sama, when we find that whore, I want the pleasure of taking care of her with my own hands." The calm voice that usually came from her mouth changed into an angrier one. Her eyes were filled with anger.
The rest of the group noticed this and nobody moved a single inch from their spot. A quiet beast can be more dangerous than a loud one and Raynare was usually calm although her speech can be outright destructive.
Issei understands her reasons and just says one thing. "I'll give you the chance but I will put your safety above the feelings that you may feel towards her. Getting yourself killed is not something I will allow. I prohibit you from dying and that is an order. You will return to us no matter what."
The slave mark activates and Raynare feels how her own will is forced to obey the order. She is not mad about it since it is not an order that is directed to make her do something against her will. Issei was telling her to survive and come back alive no matter what. As his servant, she was more than willing to obey. "As you wish my master. As long as that is what you wish I will come back to you alive."
The other members of the group stay silent after hearing the exchange between them.
One hour after dinner.
The atmosphere was still tense around the group. Hearing about Raynare's own vengeance was something nobody expected and the fact that not one but two fallen angels had become main targets of the group wasn't making things easy.
Something needed to be done to alleviate the tension and Rael was going to be the one to do it.
The undercover seraph focuses her sight on Tiamat. "Tiamat, please describe what is love to you and why do you love the Welsh Dragon so much?"
Tiamat spits her drink and looks at Rael before her eyes look around the room. Asia seems curious just like the rest of the girls.
"I'm going to take a shower." Issei tries to stand up.
"You're not going anywhere, Mr. Welsh. You're staying all the way through." Kuroka uses one of her spells on Issei and traps him on the chair. There are several ice chains around him.
"You know I can easily escape from this." Issei looks at Kuroka.
"Don't you want to know why she fell for you?" Kuroka asks.
"I don't need to hear this. This is something personal and she shouldn't- "Issei is interrupted by Tiamat.
"I want you to hear it but I want to know why Rael is so focused on knowing this." Tiamat looks at the seraph.
Rael looks calm. "I know the definition but love takes many shapes and faces. Is an unknown concept to me. Although I love humanity, I don't actually know what true love between a couple is or why it is such a strong emotion. I can't ever truly fall in love so I ask others whenever I can to learn from their experiences. The souls in inner heaven have given me a few answers but you are a very curious case. You have been interested in the same person all this time and he doesn't even have the same face as he did in the past. There is also the fact that he is fusing his soul with another being. Why do you love him even after all the things he has done?"
*My dearest- Supercell*
Tiamat sighs. "For a pure angel, you seem more curious than any other being. When I met Ddraig back before the age of man, during a time in which I was like any other dragon. I fought, ate, and killed any creature that had the balls to challenge me. Like any other dragon during that time was in solitude with many questions about myself and what was my purpose in life. One day as I rested inside my volcano a certain being came to visit."
Tiamat looks at Issei. "A crimson western dragon visited my volcano. At first, I was expecting a challenge so I attacked first. I shot my flames at him and even tried to cut him with my claws but he never defended himself nor did he attack me back. He just watched me and endured all of my attacks until I stopped."
The other girls turned their sights towards Issei and he said nothing.
"I asked him what he was doing in my territory and he said nothing. He spread his wings and left without saying one word. I was surprised, to say the least. Another dragon came to visit me for the first time and he didn't have the guts to even say one single thing. I went back to my volcano and continued to rest. I expected not to see him ever again but I was wrong. The next day, the same injured dragon came back to visit me, and this time he brought a gift. A massive dead marine creature was dropped in front of my volcano. The same western dragon opened his wings and left once more."
The girls continue to focus their sight on Issei but the boy says nothing and keeps a calm face.
"The same process continues for a whole month. Each day, same time, and always with an offering. He never said something and just dropped the offering until I had enough. That day I was waiting for him and as soon as he appeared I forced him to land on the floor before I started to bite his neck. I was going to make him talk or make sure he never came back to my territory. Instead of that, he bit me back. I was even more surprised than before. His teeth were far stronger than mine and he quickly forced me to release him."
"I asked you if you were insane."
"I replied that he was the insane one. Who comes to visit every day for a month and never says something?"
"I was afraid of saying something stupid. "
"You have never been afraid of anything, my dear mate. We both know what you were feeling then. You liked me. I have heard about the famous dragon with crimson flames that killed everything that opposes him for that whole month and yet you didn't attack me."
"I was trying to be friendly."
"You punched a female dragon who might have been a certain bitch goddess on disguise across a mountain range for mocking your face. You fought Crom Cruach without a second thought after you met him for the first time. All that took place before you met me and I hear all that from several sources. Call it attraction or an actual friendly approach but the first being that Ddraig didn't attack was me and I found it cute."
Issei grows quiet and his face becomes red.
"Since that day we started to talk and visit each other's territory. For the next 10 years, we met regularly whenever we had the time. He usually got pretty injured during some fights but it was never too serious. We trained, ate, and even slept together sometimes. I'm talking about sleeping in the same area, Kuroka. He was a hot-headed, stupid young dragon and I enjoy passing the time with him. You can say that he was my first friend but then everything changed once Albion came into the picture. Ddraig was still fighting around and once he found Albion his mind became focused on him. I heard stories about the fights between them and more than once I took care of his injuries. I wanted to stop him but he felt happy and I couldn't take that away from him. Ddraig and Albion have always been different from the rest of us. They were born with powers that no other dragon had and even gods feared them. The crimson flames and the poison that kills everything are unique powers. Ddraig had found his equal in Albion and a reason to grow stronger so I watch from the sidelines hoping that one day he will stop. One day he asked for my treasures for a fight and I willingly let him use them. I never saw those treasures again nor did Ddraig ever come back to visit me."
"I was ashamed and still am." He lowers his head.
"I know you, dumb hot-headed idiot. The fights continued until one day I heard the news. At this time, I was burning red with anger towards him but all that anger died the moment I heard the news. Ddraig, my dearest idiot, had been killed alongside Albion by the different sides of the great war. I was static, sad, and completely destroyed. I cried for months and the area around my volcano became inhabitable as my rage caused eruption after eruption. During that time, I realized how much Ddraig meant to me. I couldn't endure not having him and was about to commit suicide until Great Red stooped me. He told me that Ddraig was sealed inside the boosted gear and thus started my chase after the users of the gear. I was mad so I never confessed my feelings and I chased every user expecting payment for the treasures lost. This continued for centuries until Issei happened."
Issei looks completely ashamed of his actions. Hearing Tiamat's cruel fate of waiting for him for so long was something he didn't expect.
"When he came out of that egg two years ago, I couldn't hold it in. I didn't care what his face looked like, what his voice sounded like. I still don't care about the fact that he is fusing himself with a human child. Learning to fall in love with another part of my dear mate once more has brought me joy. He can take any name he wants. His attitude and shape can take any shape but I will still recognize him. He is still the idiot for which I have been waiting for a long time. Love for me is an insane feeling, Rael. I feel so many emotions at the same time for this hot-headed idiot that it becomes hard for me to stay away from him. No words can truly describe what true love is. For each person is different but for me is this insane feeling that makes me ignore how many other women come around him, how many stupid things he has ever done, and now that his mind is in the right place I won't let go. I know I'm part of his life and that his instincts go insane as mine does for him. I waited for him too long and I want everything with him." Tiamat's eyes' go completely blue. A few tears are running down her cheeks. "I love you my dearest."
Kuroka and the other girls have no words after hearing this declaration. Rael is the one most affected. She can't understand the feeling that Tiamat had just described. The feelings of a dragon were too extreme and insane but she came to one conclusion from hearing all that.
"I want to feel that feeling as well."
Later that night.
Everyone had gone their separate way. Everyone had a lot on their minds but Issei had one last thing he needed to do.
"Tia, we need to go somewhere," Issei said as they entered their room.
Tiamat looks at him with curiosity and just nods. She holds his hand and the two of them transport themselves into a different location.
South America.
The pair reappeared deep inside one of the jungles of South America. The sounds of the different animals didn't attract the attention of the pair as they moved through the area.
"I'm sorry for making you suffer for so long. I'm the biggest idiot and I could never truly pay my debt to you."
Tiamat tries to speak but Issei stops her.
"I want you to wait here until I get what I left here and just hear the things I have to say." He lets go of her hand and continues to move on while talking. "It is just like you said. That day when I saw you for the first time, I started to fall for you. You were the first female I ever found interesting, appealing, attractive. Your scales were so beautiful and your eyes captured my attention as we met. I didn't know how to approach you, what to say to you and when you attacked me, I couldn't lift a finger. You were like a precious stone I couldn't touch and you still are that same dragoness I saw. I appreciate all the things you have ever done for me and I consider you my first friend above all else. I had three treasures which I hid around the world but this one is special. One that I had made not for me but you."
Issei comes back holding a small box.
Tiamat holds the tears back as she watches him approaching her.
"Us dragons were here first but this world is not truly ours and I knew that from the beginning. I always knew that I wanted to give you something that was not only useful but something that only I could give you." Issei takes a small golden bracelet with several stones and runes. "This bracelet is capable of making a deserted area into a land in which dragons can prosper. The land for our children, the land for us and our faction. A place to call home. It took a lot of blood and resources to make. Is one of a kind and is the one treasure I always wanted to give you." Issei puts the bracelet around her right wrist and the bracelet adjusts itself to her making it impossible to be removed. "Do you like it?"
Tiamat says nothing and just embraces him with all of her strength. The tears are running down her cheeks and she can't control her feelings for him anymore.
This hot-headed idiot had given to her one of the most important things that a dragon could ever wish for.
A land to call home.
In a different place.
Great Red watches the exchange between the two dragons with happiness.
"I'm the greatest cupid there ever was." The dragon had seen many things but the happiness of the members of his race was one of the few things he enjoyed.
They were his kids in a sense and no father could ever feel sad about such moments.
"Playing cupid. The old great dragon has a heart for the lovely lives of the weak." The voice of Ophis said.
Great Red sighs. "An idiot child like you who still doesn't know anything would never truly understand the joy of such things until she understands her own feelings."
"Feelings? These distasteful things? Why do I want to understand them? Why would I want these stupid things? I just want silence. I want peace, I want to return to nothingness." Ophis argues.
Great Red ignores her. "You can't return to that nothingness and the dimensional gap is more important than the desires of a child such as yourself, I won't give you this place back. One day we will talk about this once more and you'll realize by then that life has more meaning than just hate and the darkness of the hearts. You're a child that one day will realize the truth."
Great Red flies away and leaves Ophis by herself.
She hated him. She hated life. She hated feelings. She hated gods and every damn thing outside of the dimensional gap. She hated herself and the feelings that she had developed thanks to her interactions with gods, mythological beings, and life as a whole. She wanted silence and she was willing to do anything to obtain it.
Back in Lilith.
A lonely figure had finally reached the city with the last of her strength.
In her only hand left a small, cracked piece was all that she had at her disposal.
The time had come for a new conflict for the devils to face.
