Chapter 3: I Was a Teenage Abomination

Eda, King, Minato and Luz were by the coast and while Eda had a big smile on her face Luz and Minato had mixed expressions.

"Well kids, did you ever in your life think you would see something as breath-taking as this?" Eda asks gesturing to a giant slug creature.

"I don't like this." Luz gulps.

"Uh what exactly is this?" Minato asks.

"A Trash Slug, it makes a home, a life from what others have thrown by the wayside and then blam! It gets hit by a wave and croaks from all the salt. Then we get to sell the stuff it ate." Eda said taking out a pickaxe.

Hearing this Minato made a gagging noise when Luz was just grossed out.

"Please don't make me do this." Luz said.

"Aw, come on. It's not every day you get to go to the dump and pick apart a garbage carcass." King said setting up a little towel.

"Ah nuts to all three of you." Eda said swinging her ax chopping it up.

"Uh Eda, I know you're a great wizard and all but maybe we can do something less gross?" Minato asks.

"Oh yeah? Like what?" Eda asks.

"Like maybe read ancient scrolls, learn some spells or mix together some potions." Luz suggests.

"Ugh that sounds like a bunch of magic school stuff." Eda groans.

"Wait there's a magic school here?" Minato asks.

"Like, winding towers, cute uniforms, dark plots that threaten your life kind of magic school?" Luz asks excited.

"Mm‐hmm. What's worse, they force you to learn magic the "proper" way. But magic isn't proper. It's wild and unpredictable. And that's why it's so beautiful. I didn't finish school and look at me! Who wouldn't envy where I am right now?" Eda asks standing next to a bunch of smelly garbage and guts causing both teens to feel uneasy. "Uh hey here's a lesson. A good witch is resourceful." Eda said putting their hands into green slime.

When Luz pulls her out she is holding a ball of slime.

"A greasy slimeball?" Luz asks.

"Use your slimeball wisely." Eda said while Minato just pulled out a slimy silver dollar coin.

"Ugh great. Smelly money." Minato groans.

"Oh that reminds me." Eda said rummaging in her pocket and took out some money. "Go into town and pick up supplies for dinner."

"Ooh! Ooh! Yes! Your King demands food!" King orders.

"I guess I'll see you guys back at the house." Minato said using this chance to get out of garbage duty.

"Alright while he gets our food we'll hit the Stink Nodes first." Eda said.

"Actually, if it's okay, I think I'll head home and look at pictures of animals that are still alive." Luz said walking away. "Love you King you little beach peach." Luz said tickling his belly before running off.

"More for me then." Eda said entering the dead slug and tossing junk everywhere. "This is awesome!"

In town, Minato was walking to the market.

"Really Eda? Picking apart giant dead slugs? How is that gonna help me find my dad?" Minato asks looking at the silver dollar he dug up. "Heads I ditch Eda and start looking on my own. Tails I stick it out for a while longer." Minato said flipping the coin in the air and caught it.

Placing it on his arm, Minato took a deep breath and lifted his hand revealing tails. "The coin has spoken."

Suddenly Minato heard a loud roar.

"Unhand that you vile creature!" A voice said.

Turning around Minato saw an old man with what appeared to be a demon mask on his face trying to pull his satchel free from a Griffin.

Roaring the griffin flung the man against the walls knocking him to the ground.

As he groans in pain the man saw the griffin spread its wings about to move.

Bracing himself the man was about to attack when suddenly Minato leaped in and slashed the griffin away with his sword.

"What the?" The man said as Minato turns to him.

"Sir get back, I'll handle this." Minato said.

Pausing the man decided to let Minato handle this so he could watch.

As the griffin recovers from the attack it looked to Minato before charging in swinging its claws but Minato blocks it with his sword.

"The Monado?" The man gasps surprised.

"Back off you giant birdbrain!" Minato said as the girffin leaps at him but dodges before creating a Rasengan in his hands. "Rasengan!" Slamming it into the griffin the flew back crashing to the ground.

Running in Minato grabs his sword and attacks.

Acting quickly the griffin spread its wings and flew in towards Minato knocking him to the ground and his sword out of his hands.

Across from him the man watches as Minato jumped back.

"Alright you slippery griffin get a load of this!" Minato jumps on his back and spins as if he was break dancing and blades of air shot out whacking the griffin multiple times while preventing it from flying the way it wants to.

"Amazing." The man said in awe as the griffin crashed to the ground.

Looking in fear, the Griffin spread its wings and flew away.

"And don't come back!" Minato yells before picking up his sword and walking towards the old man. "You okay sir?"

"Am I okay? I'm more than okay! Young man that was some of the most amazing Wind Magic I have ever seen!" He smiles.

"Oh uh thank you." Minato said.

"Tell me what was that last move you did?" He asks.

"It's called the Counter Shield." Minato said.

"Fascinating, I don't believe I've seen you around Hexside before." The man said.

"Hexside?" Minato asks as the man examined him.

"Tell me young man, what's your name?" The man asks.

"My name's Minato." Minato said not sure what was going on.

"How did you come to find this sword?" He asks.

"It was my dad's." Minato said when the man noticed his ears.

"Very interesting shape, young man today is your lucky day." The man said shaking his hand.

"It is?" Minato asks.

"Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Principal Bump, of Hexside." He smiles.

Meanwhile Luz was heading back to the Owl House.

"Ugh! If magic's all about digging for slime balls, maybe I don't have the stomach for it." Luz groans.

"You can do it! You can!" A female voice said.

"Mysterious voice of encouragement?" Luz asks following it to reveal a girl with black hair, glasses and black and purple robes. This was Willow. "No, little witch girl."

"You can do it. Even if you get a bad grade, it's not a reflection of you as a witch. And my parents are right. There are better opportunities on this track. Now, get to school!" Willow said accidentally stepping on a flower. "Oh, no! Oh, little friend! I'm sorry!"

Drawing a green magic circle, Willow healed the injured flower when suddenly another student sitting atop some sort of cauldron rolled by. She had similar robes and green hair with a splotch of brown in the middle. This was Amity.

"Hi Amity." Willow said not liking this at all.

"Uh, shouldn't you get to class early to prep your…" Before Amity could finish, Willow's cauldron spilled over to reveal some purple sludge with an eye in it. "Oh, Willow. You don't have anything to show, do you?"

"Witch drama." Luz gasps.

"This is why people call you Half-Witch Willow." Amity said when they heard a rattling from her cauldron. "Oh, looks like someone wants to say something to you. Abomination, rise."

Emerging from the cauldron was a purple creature who leaned down towards Willow.

"You are…star." It said touching her forehead making a star of slime.

"Aw. It's like mine. But much smaller, and meaningless. As top student, it's my duty to tell you to keep at it. Even you could get a passing grade someday. Abomination, cower." Amity said as her abomination went back into the cauldron. "See ya in class superstar."

"See ya in class superstar." Willow mocks. "I hate when she does that. I hate making abominations. I hate getting bad grades. Ugh! I can't stand this anymore." Willow snaps as her eyes started to glow green and large thorny roots shot out of the ground.

One of them flew towards Luz and grabbed her causing her to scream as Luz landed across from Willow.

Back at the beach, Eda was tying up a sack full of eggs.

"Not a bad haul. That oviduct was loaded." Eda said.

"Yeah lose your apprentices, gain garbage eggs. Not a bad trade." King mocks.

"I didn't lose anything." Eda scoffs.

"If you don't teach them something you will and that's when I come in. Make Luz and Minato my apprentices." King declares causing Eda to laugh.

"And what would you teach? How to get stuck in the arm of a sweater?" Eda mocks.

"Hey, that only happened once! I'd teach them about demons. How to identify them, talk to 'em, raise an army with them and tear apart the world!" King said.

"After they tear you out of the sweater arm first, right?" Eda asks.

"You think you're so smart! Well, why don't we make a little bet where I can prove that I'd make a better teacher." King offers.

"Okay. I'm obligated to remind you that I only use our bets to utterly humiliate you." Eda reaches into her hair and pulls out a book called Eda + King One Sided Wagers and opens it to reveal King has never won. "And... that you've never won."

"I like those odds." King said.

"So how's this: teach this trash slug to be your loyal soldier in one day. Prove that you can be a better teacher than me, and the kids are all yours. But if you don't, I change your name from King to Mr. Wiggles." Eda said picking up a slug egg.

"Well, when you lose, you'll have to... wear a shame hat and sleep in a shack and never come into the Owl House again! Ha!" King said.

"Deal." Eda said holding up the book and King stamps a paw print sealing it.

Tossing the egg, it breaks upon contact and the trash slug lands in King's hands while Eda walks away laughing.

Back with Luz, Willow turned to face her and fear engulfs Luz as she prepared for the worst when suddenly Willow's eyes returned to normal.

"Oh, no, no, no, no, no! I'm so sorry!" Willow gasps running over and helping Luz free.

"It's okay. The thorns only went through a few layers of skin." Luz said when Willow examines her and sees her ears.

"So circly." Willow said causing Luz to yelp and cover her ears while Willow gasps. "You're human. This is amazing! A human on the Boiling Isles! How did you get here?! What are you doing here?!" Willow asks excitedly when they heard a bell ring causing her to become sad again. "I'm sorry. I can't stay. I have to go disappoint my teacher. It was nice to meet you, human."

"Wait!" Luz said stopping her. "I'm Luz. And you're Willow, right? What you did with that flower and those plants, it was... wow."

"Thanks but I'm not even supposed to be doing Plant Magic. My parents put me in the Abomination track at school." Willow sighs causing Luz to squeal.

"Like, magic school? That's so cool! I'm so jealous. I have a teacher, but her lessons are a bit untraditional. I bet she wouldn't even let me enroll. But I wish I could spend one day there." Luz said.

"I wish I could get a passing grade for once. Then people would stop calling me Half-Witch Willow." Willow sighs looking down at her abomination puddle.

"Hey, wait. I know how we can both get what we want. Make me your abomination. I'll get you a good grade, and you can get me into magic school. It's fiendishly clever." Luz grins slapping some abomination goo on her.

"What?" Willow asks shocked.

"I saw that girl's thing. It's just chunks of stuff that talks weird. I'm chunks of stuff, and I talk weird!" Luz said causing Willow to giggle.

"That is true. Okay it's a deal. Luz." Willow smiles.

"This is a good plan." Luz said as they shook hands only to get stuck together.

"Oops, Abomination goo." Willow said as they tried to free themselves.

Soon Minato was standing with Principal Bump as they faced an amazing school.

"Welcome to Hexside School of Magic and Demonics." Bump declares as they walked in.

"Sugoi." Minato said blown away.

"So tell me Minato, you seem pretty skilled in the art of Wind Magic. Are there any other kinds of magic you're learning?" Bump asks as they walked in.

"Well I'm learning to control this." Minato said looking at his Monado.

"Well here at Hexside we have track courses for students to follow: Abomination, Bard, Beast Keeping, Construction, Healing, Illusions, Oracle, Plants, Potions..." Bump lists as they walked through the halls and noticed all the students had different color uniforms depending on their track.

"Hmm those are pretty cool but not really the kind of magic I'm used to." Minato admits.

"That's because I saved the best track for last." Bump smirks as they walked over to see students with azure sleeves casting element spells. "This is the Elemental Track."

"Okay, this is pretty cool." Minato said when he noticed something down the hall. "Wait a minute."

Walking over to it, he saw a picture with a Miguel in his late teens smiling proudly as Principal Bump was holding out a plaque to him.

"Dad?" Minato said shocked.

"So it's true." Bump grins as Minato turns around and yelps seeing Bump was so close to him. "You are his son!"

"What's going on? Why is there a picture of you and my dad here?" Minato asks.

"Because this was your father's track. When Miguel graduated from Hexside his elemental powers were so well known we had to make a 10th track just for this." Bump said leading Minato to his office. "Just think, you could be the Element Track's Soulwing Second Generation."

'Dad's real last name was Soulwing…hmm why did he choose Mom's last name over that?' Minato mutters.

"Ah there's one of my best students." Bump said as Amity walked by. "Miss Blight, come here."

Hearing the Principal, Amity rushed over.

"Yes sir?" She asks excited.

"I'd like you to meet Minato Soulwing." Bump said.

"Uh actually it's Nakamura." Minato corrects.

"Yes, yes whatever." Bump said brushing it off. "Would you mind telling this young man why our school is the best?"

"That's easy, because every student here has everything to reach their full potential and are willing to do what—wait what's with your ears?" Amity asks noticing his half round half pointy ears.

"Uh it's nothing." Minato said.

"You are a witch, aren't you?" Amity asks suspiciously.

"Half witch." Minato said.

"Well, this is interesting a hybrid student." Bump said intrigued.

"So if I became a student here, I would learn lots of things that would make me a better witch?" Minato asks.

"As long as you can keep up with the work." Amity said.

While Minato pauses to consider this Bump put his hand on Minato's shoulder.

"Come along. We have a lot of ground to cover before we can fill out your enrollment papers." Bump said.

"But uh I haven't—"

"Come along." Bump said pulling him away before he could finish.

Turning around Amity looks to see the Monado strapped to his back and her eyes widen.

"No way. How'd he find that?" She mutters.

As Minato was being led down the hall, he didn't notice Willow walking to the lockers with her cauldron.

Down the hall, a brown-skinned Witch with light blue clothes walked over reading a magazine.

"Willow, you would not believe humans." He said.

"Humans? Psh. I haven't seen any. What?" Willow said acting nervously.

"Did you know that humans nail barbed wire to their kids' teeth? But why? Maybe to make them magnetic." He said showing Willow a picture of a teen with braces.

"Actually, it's for storing treats." Luz's voice said coming from the cauldron.

"Okay, Augustus. I'm gonna tell you something. But you have to be cool." Willow warns.

"I can be spool. I-I-I mean cool." Augustus said.

"Abomination, rise!" Willow said as Luz came out of the cauldron covered in abomination goo.

"Ta-da! I'm an Abomination!" Luz declares.

"Luz that's not how abominations act." Willow said as Augustus drops his magazine in shock.

"No. No, it, it couldn't be." Augusts said in shock.

"He's the president of the Human Appreciation Society. Most witches wouldn't be able to recognize a human right away. But Augustus is an expert." Willow explains.

"I knew an Augustus back in the human world. We called him Gus." Luz said.

"Gus? Nickname? Human nickname? Gus? Call me it. Wow. Gus." Gus said before realizing something. "Wait we? Are there others with you?"

"Well there's my best friend Minato, but he's only half human, we just found out he's also half witch." Luz said causing both Willow and Gus to gasp.

"You mean, a hybrid? Those exist?" Willow asks amazed.

"This is the best day of my life. Where is this hybrid?" Gus asks looking around.

"Don't know, he went to the market, but I haven't seen him since." Luz said when the bell demon screamed.

"I've gotta get to spelling class. See you guys at lunch!" Gus said waving goodbye.

"Alright. Into the darkness you go." Willow said as Luz hisses going inside.

Back at the Owl House, King was trying to train his trash slug with treats.

"Aw. Who's a good Prince, Jr.? Who's a good guy?" King asks while Eda sat nearby watching.

"Hey, Mr. Wiggles. You're not gonna teach it anything doing that." Eda smirks.

"It's called positive reinforcement, Eda. And it works wonders." King said as Prince Jr. ate the treat and grew a little in size. "Ha ha! See? Now watch this. Prince, Jr.! Attack Eda! Knock over her drink! Mess up her hair!"

"Oh no, please stop." Eda mocks as the slug just stood there.

"Well, I haven't seen your students in forever. For all we know, they're not even loyal to you anymore." King said as the slug ate the treat in his hand.

"You wish." Eda scoffs. "But yeah where are they?" Eda asks.

In Abomination 101, all the students presented their abominations to the teacher.

"Hmm too many toes in unexpected places. Fail!" The teacher said as the student went back to her desk. "Pathetic! The biggest abominations are all of you! If the next abomination is a failure, everyone gets extra homework for a month!"

"Not again!" The students groan.

"And the next student is…" The teacher said when Amity raised her hand.

"Excuse me, sir, but I am ready to present my abomination. Rise!" Amity said as her abomination rose striking a pose causing the teacher to chuckle.

"I've always saved the best for last, Amity. You'll have to wait your turn. How about... Willow." The teacher said causing the class to groan again.

"Not Half‐a‐Witch."

"Great. Homework for a month."

As Willow was dying of embarrassment, Luz popped her head out.

"Don't listen to them, Willow. We can do this." Luz whispers.

Smiling softly, Willow brought her cauldron to the front.

"Uh, abomination rise." Willow said as Luz leaps out of the cauldron.

"Tada!" Luz said shocking everyone, especially Amity.

"Abomination, bow." Willow said as Luz bowed.

"Very impressive. But does it speak?" The teacher asks.

"Uh, I may be your abomination, but you're my a‐mom‐ination." Luz said hugging Willow.

"Aww." The students said loving this causing the teacher to laugh.

"A-mom-ination. Splendid wordplay A plus." The teacher said drawing an A on Luz's forehead.

When the bell screamed, Willow walks out of class with Luz in her cauldron.

"Wonderful work today, Willow. Looks like we have a new top student." The teacher said shocking Amity.

"What?" Amity gasps as he took her top student star and gave it to Willow. "But—"

"Thank you sir." Willow smiles when Amity walks up to her.

"Last time I saw you, your abomination was mush. What did you do?" Amity glares.

"I uh took your pep talk to heart." Willow said nervously.

"I bet you did. I've got my eyes on you, Half‐a‐Witch. That badge is mine." Amity said walking away giving her the "I'm watching you" sign with her fingers.

"Uh oh. I think Amity is onto us." Willow gulps.

At the Owl House, Eda swings open the door making Hooty smack into the wall.

"Have you seen Luz or Minato?" Eda asks.

"I heard her tiny mouse feet walking close by. Or that might've been some mice. Anyway, someone started moving in that direction. Hoo, hoo‐hoo, hoo." Hooty said nudging his head.

"Are you trying to point or—"

"Look at the weather vane!" Hooty said as Eda looks to see where it was pointing.

"But the only thing in that direction is…" Eda gasps before running off. "No, no, no, no, no!" Eda said running to Hexside.

Looking through the window she saw a preschool class going on.

"Alright class, recite your runes." The teacher said.

"Krom, Zix, Elgrim, Zenomide." The kids recited.

"No. Blind Obedience." Eda said moving to the next window to see the high school classes.

"Heximal system time! Let's get memorizing!" The teacher said as the students took notes.

"No! Pointless busywork!" Eda said when she looked to the next room and saw Luz and Willow writing notes. "No! Why?! School!" Eda said in horror.

"So what do you think of our school?" Bump's voice said from the next room.

"It's impressive." Minato said as Eda looks to the next window to see Bump leading Minato down the hall.

"You know one time your father blasted 4 students out that very window." Bump points causing Minato to chuckle.

"Wow, dad hated bullies just like I do." Minato smiles.

"No! Bump you sneaky old vulture! I found him first!" Eda said shaking her fist.

Soon lunch came and Bump led Minato to the cafeteria.

"You mind if we take a break from our tour? I need to head to my office for a bite to eat." Bump asks.

"No problem. You wanna meet up after lunch?" Minato asks as Bump nods.

"I see a bright future ahead for you young man. With the right teaching you could be as great as your father someday." Bump said walking away.

"Wow, I can't believe Eda said this place was awful. I can't find a single thing wrong with this place." Minato said looking around when he noticed Willow, Gus and her cauldron. "What's that?" Minato asks when he saw Luz covered in slime emerge from it causing his eyes to widen.

"Hey do humans eat PB&Js?" Gus asks.

"Oh my gosh I haven't eaten all day. Please give me some." Luz said as Gus split his sandwich in half and Luz ate hers.

"I don't know Gus. If Amity saw that—"

"I saw that!" Before Willow could finish Amity leaped in front of them.

"Hey it's that girl from earlier." Minato said surprised.

"Abominations don't eat! I know you're in there! You can't hide from me. What are you? Who are you? I want answers!" Amity said reaching into the cauldron and shaking Luz weirding out all the other students.

"Amity Blight!" The Abomination teacher said walking over. "I suspected a twinge of jealousy, but this, this is just sad."

"But I—Look at it!" Amity said as Luz groans acting dumb.

"Report to Principal Bump's office." The teacher points.

"But—"

"Now!" He said as Amity left grumbling.

"Phew, that was close." Willow said when Minato walks over.

"Excuse me can I have a word with you two? And your "Abomination" if you don't mind?" Minato said doing air quotes.

"Whoa, those ears. Half pointy, half round. Are you—" Gus gasps.

"Wait is that the Monado on your back?" Willow gasps.

"Willow, Gus meet my best friend in the whole world, Minato." Luz said.

"Hi." Minato waves.

At the Owl House, King's Trash Slug had grown exponentially since Eda left.

"Roll over!" King said tossing it treats. "Yes! Heel!" But instead the creature followed him and King kept feeding it treats when Eda walks over. "So, did you find your runaway students? By your expression, I can tell Luz and Minato has gone and found themselves someplace else to learn. Which means I have won!" King cheers tossing all his treats into the air causing the slug to eat them all.

"Yes, great, you won. You have a giant soldier thing and I have nothing. Congrats!" Eda said sarcastically.

"Oh, Eda. Don't say that. At least you have this!" King said pulling out a dunce cap with the word Shame on it.

Growling Eda took the hat and went to the shed.

"I am so funny!" King cackles as his slug came up to him. "Ah, well, Prince, Jr. training complete. Go forth! Make the world tremble at your feet or worm stubs." King said but the trash slug did not move. "Go forth? Ah right." King moves to grab a treat but saw he was empty. "Uh oh.

Growling Prince Jr. was looking at him causing King to scream in fear.

In an empty classroom, Luz climbed out of the cauldron.

"Why am I not surprised to see you here." Minato said.

"I could say the same to you, how did you get here?" Luz asks.

"I saved the Principal from a griffin and now he's giving a full tour. Now you gonna explain all this?" Minato asks gesturing to her clothes.

"It's Abomination Goo. Willow needed an Abomination and I wanted to see the school so we're helping each other." Luz said.

"You mean that thing that was carrying the teacher?" Minato asks.

"Yeah, I'm not very good at those." Willow frowns.

"Oh my goodness, a real Hybrid right in front of me." Gus said circling Minato. "Humans and Witches hardly even associate with one another let alone have a child."

"New friends?" Minato smirks looking at Luz.

"Yeah." Luz said rubbing the back of her head.

"And Luz you're not gonna believe what I found out about my dad here." Minato said causing Luz to gasp.

"Mr. Nakamura came here?" Luz said.

"Yes, but apparently that wasn't his real name. Turns out my family name is Soulwing." Minato said causing Willow and Gus to gasp.

"Soulwing? As in Miguel Soulwing!" Gus gasps.

"You guys have heard of my dad?" Minato asks surprised.

"Every witch has heard of Miguel Soulwing. He's a legend." Willow said.

"Whoa." Minato said blown away.

"It's incredible." Luz said holding out her hand. "High five."

Minato looks to Luz and they high five.

"What was that?" Gus asks.

"It's a human thing." Minato and Luz said as Minato held out his hand.

"Here just slap your hand against mine." Minato said as Gus slowly reached out and hit his hand causing him to smile as Gus did another high five.

"Oh. Oh, my. Oh, man, what a rush!" Gus smiles when the door opens to reveal Amity and Principal Bump.

"Good afternoon students." Bump said.

"P-Principal Bump?" Willow said surprised.

"Uh hi sir." Minato said.

"Ah Minato I see you were curious as well." Bump said as he looked to Luz who was playing dumb.

"Hmm. Abomination, rise." Bump orders as Luz stands up. "Abomination lie."

"Uh, viral fame is a worthy pursuit. Your cat would never eat you if it got the chance. Chemtrails are really—" Luz said causing Bump to chuckle.

"Oh, no, abomination. How strange for it to get the command wrong. I mean lie down." Bump said pointing to a desk.

Cringing Luz walked over and laid down on the table.

"So very lifelike. When Miss Blight told me about your abomination, I had to come by, see what she's made of." Bump said.

"Oh I have her list of ingredients right here." Willow said reaching for her pocket.

"No, we were hoping…for a closer look." Bump said taking out a dagger causing Luz and Minato to look in horror.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, you're just gonna shove a dagger into it? Just like that?" Minato asks.

"Don't worry Minato. It's not like it can feel anything. Willow I'll allow you the first cut." Bump said handing her the dagger.

"Uh you can't just cut open a human, can you?" Gus whispers but Minato shook his head in panic.

"Willow, go ahead and make the first incision." Bump said.

"Uh hey Principal Bump!" Gus said getting his attention. "High five!" Gus said knocking over three cauldrons and three abominations groaned coming at Bump. "Run!"

Seeing this chance, Minato grabbed Luz and Willow and they ran out.

"They're getting away!" Amity points.

"They won't get far." Bump drew a magic circle on the wall and pressed against it activating the security system.

Running down the hall, Minato pants.

"I think we lost them." Minato said.

"This is all my fault, Willow. I just wanted to see what a real magic school was like." Luz said.

"Well what did you think?" Willow asks.

"Well before our Principal was about to dissect Luz it was awesome." Minato said.

"Very lovely." Luz agrees.

"Well let's get you out before—" Before Willow could finish are seals appeared all over the school. "Bump seals us in." Willow cringed in horror.

At the Owl House, Eda was in the shed feeling horrible when suddenly King opens the door and ran to her.

"Help me, help me, help me!" King whimpers as Prince Jr. banged against the door.

"Trouble with your student?" Eda smirks.

"Yes! Yes!" King said.

"Are you sure you need my help? Maybe he only wants more of your brilliant lessons." Eda asks when Prince Jr breaks down the door and roars at them before grabbing King by his little tail.

"Please help me! You can call me Mr. Wiggles!" King begs being dragged away.

Smiling Eda took off her hat and grabbed her staff slamming it into the slug's face causing it to let go of King and slither back outside.

"Okay, Mr. Wiggles here's what we gotta do." Eda said.

Back at Hexside, Minato, Luz and Willow were running down the halls when Bump catches up with them with the abominations at his side.

"They're too fast! We need to slow them down!" Willow said.

"On it!" Minato said turning around and taking a deep breath. "Sky Dragon Roar!"

Breathing a powerful gust of wind the three abominations flew out the same window that Bump said his father blasted people out of.

"That was amazing." Willow said before frowning. "Wow even a real half witch is better than me. I can't do anything right. Amity's right I'll always be Half-a-witch Willow."

"What's wrong with that? I'm only half witch but that didn't stop me." Minato said.

"Minato's right, you're Full-Witch-Willow and you're great. And someone once told us great witches are resourceful." Luz said taking out the slimeball Eda gave her.

"That's it." Willow smiles taking it.

"You actually want that greasy slimeball?" Minato asks.

"It's a seed. Thank goodness you had it on you." Willow said.

"Yeah good thing someone told me to." Luz smiles.

"We have a pretty good teacher." Minato said.

"Come on little seed." Willow said creating a magic circle around it when suddenly giant thorny vines shout out of it and spread all over the halls pinning Principal Bump to the wall.

As he looked down he saw Willow had completely covered the school in vines.

"Remarkable." Bump said.

"There's the exit!" Luz points as they ran to it only to be stopped by Amity.

"Not so fast!" Amity growls surprising them.

"I'm not letting you get away that easily! I want my badge! Abominations, seize!" Amity orders as more abominations attack them.

Grabbing the Monado, Minato slices one in half but it grew back.

"Minato what are you doing helping these people? What would your father say if he saw you walk away from all this?" Bump calls out causing Minato to pause. "You're Minato Soulwing. It's time to act like one. Join Hexside."

Minato looks at him and part of him wanted to take his hand but just before he did a small gust of wind blew Minato's goggles over his eyes.

"No I am Minato Nakamura and my father would never approve of me walking out on my friends." Mianto said as the Monado started to glow reacting to his will. "So Principal Bump, my answer is a big, fat NOOO!" Minato roars swings his sword releasing an azure blade of energy.

Eyes widening, Amity looks in shock as the blade sliced all the abominations and knocked her to the ground.

Hearing this answer, Bump had a horrified look on his face as Minato grabbed Luz.

"Come on you guys need to go." Willow said.

"But what about you?" Luz asks.

"I may get detention but you'll get dissected." Willow said.

"She's right, let's go." Minato said focusing wind to his feet before he and Luz were launched over the vines and out the door.

"Willow! We have to go back for her!" Luz said.

"Luz we can't save her, but we know someone who can." Minato hints.

At the Owl House, Eda whacks Prince Jr multiple times with her staff as she lured it towards the house where King was on the roof with a bucket of salt.

"Pour the salt now!" Eda said.

"Baby boy." King said as Prince Jr whimpers at him before roaring. "I have no son. Eat Salt!"

As the salt falls into it's mouth the slug screams in agony before turning back into a little baby slug and slithering away.

"Yes! I did it! I'm amazing!" King cheers before slipping off the roof, but luckily Eda caught him. "You helped too. You are a good teacher."

"I just wish the kids thought that." Eda said.

"EDA!" Minato and Luz yell as they ran over and Luz hugged her.

"Hey, hey, hey, hey! What is this? Ugh! I never understand when you do this." Eda said.

"Your lesson worked! Keeping junk in my pocket saved my life! But wait. My new friends. They're in danger." Luz gasps.

"Luz!" Willow yells as she and Gus ran over and hugged her and Minato.

"Seriously? What is that." Eda asks.

"You guys are okay." Minato smiles.

"You won't believe it. Everything is perfect now." Willow said.

"It's true we don't." Luz said.

"Principal Bump was so impressed by my plant work he's switching me to the plant magic track! Look!" Willow snaps her fingers and her purple sleeves turned green.

"You know what? It suits you." Minato smiles.

"Wait what about Amity?" Luz asks.

"Last we saw, she was asking Bump if today could count as extra credit." Gus said.

"Oh boy." Minato rolls his eyes.

"Well, I can't wait to see you in action next time I sneak in." Luz said causing Willow to cringe.

"Uh about that. You're kinda…sorta banned." Gus said showing a banned poster of Luz.

"That's my girl!" Eda cheers before looking to Minato. "Wait what about you? Bump was giving you a personal tour."

"Well I might have yelled in his face and sliced a giant chunk of his school away." Minato admits causing Eda to gasp and put a hand to her heart.

"This is…the best day of my life! Ha! My kids are here to stay!" Eda cheers.

"But we could come here and teach you what we learned." Willow offers.

"Thanks but we have an awesome teacher already." Luz said.

"Yeah, that's right. Luz and Minato are my students. Back off, academy twerps." Eda said picking up the wanted poster. "Ah, baby's first wanted poster. Good job, kid. Looks like I taught you something after all."

As Gus and Willow walk away and Eda, King and Luz walk inside Minato reached into his pocket and held up the Silver dollar he pulled out. "Guess this thing was onto something. Sticking with Eda is where I need to be." Minato smiles before pocketing the coin and walking inside.

"Hey by the way what's for dinner?" King asks.

Minato pauses for a few seconds before he realized he forgot to get the groceries. "DANG IT!"
