Chapter 12: Something Ventured, Someone Framed
Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. I'd also like to thank Superherotimefan for making a sketch of Minato on his deviatart account. We find ourselves at Hexside, all over campus students were participating in clubs, studying, playing sports or even doing the schools new favorite past time.
"Duel!" Some students called out.
All over the school some students were playing Yu-Gi-Oh.
"Sword Hunter take out that Dark Triceratops!" A female student says as her warrior slices a dino into pieces.
"Rip that Blade Knight to shreds!" In another duel a demon student has a Terrorking destroy Blade Knight.
In one duel in the Plant Track homeroom, we see Willow facing off against another plant track student.
On Willow's field was Naturia Mantis, Naturia Rock and Naturia Cherries.
On her opponent's side of the field was Hercules Beetle, Flying Kamakiri a facedown monster and Leghul.
Naturia Mantis: 1700/ 1500

"Now Leghul attack Willow directly!" The Plant student said as his bug lunged forward past Willow's Monsters.
Willow: 3600
Plant Student: 5200
"Now Hercules Beetle crush her Naturia Rock!" Charging in Hercules Beetle rams into Willow's monster crushing it into pebbles. "And now my Flying Kamakiri destroys your cherries."
Flying in Flying Kamakiri slices Willow's Naturia Cherries.
"When my Naturia Cherries are sent to the graveyard I can summon two more from my deck to the field." Willow said playing the two monsters facedown.
"And with that, I end my turn." He said.
"My turn." Willow drew. "I sacrifice one of my facedown Naturia cherries in order to summon my Naturia Bamboo shoot!" Willow said as a bamboo shoot monster with eyes appeared.
Naturia Bamboo Shoot: 2000/ 2000
"And if I tribute a Naturia card to summon him you can't activate any spells or traps while he's on the field." Willow declares surprising him.
"Oh no." He gasps.
"Now Naturia Mantis attack his Leghul!" Willow said as her mantis swings its pincers and slices Leghul in half.
Willow: 3600
Plant Track student: 3800
"And now my Bamboo Shoot is coming for your Hercules Beetle." Willow said as her monster fired multiple needles destroying the beetle.
Willow: 3500
Plant Track student: 3300
"And I'll end my turn with one card facedown." Willow said.
"Not bad, but my bugs are about to pluck your little weeds." He drew. "I sacrifice my facedown monster and my Flying Kamakiri in order to summon my Insect Queen!"
Gasping Willow looks in horror to see a giant insect appear on his field.
Insect Queen: 2200/ 2400
"And surprise the facedown monster I sent to the grave was Pinch Hopper and when he's gone I can summon a new monster. Like my Basic Insect." He said as a small green bug appeared on his field.
Basic Insect: 500/ 700
"And thanks to my Queen's special ability she gains 200 points for every insect monster on the field including yours." He grins.
Insect Queen: 2800/ 2400
"Now in order for her to attack I need to sacrifice a card, see ya Basic Insect." He said as Insect Queen crushed his monster before ramming into Natura Bamboo Shoot destroying it.
Willow: 2700
Plant Track Student: 3300
"And when my Queen destroys a monster, I get a token on my side of the field." He said as an egg token appeared.
Token: 100/ 100
"And now that your Bamboo Shoot is gone I can use my spells and traps, like this facedown." He said setting a trap.
"My turn." Willow said drawing a card.
"Hold it, I activate my trap card Skull Invitation. Now every time a card is sent to the graveyard that cards's owner takes 300 points of damage." He said.
"That's fine with me. First I flip summon my last Naturia Cherries and now I summon Naturia Sunflower." Willow said as a cartoon sunflower appeared.
Naturia Sunflower: 500/ 0
"Next I tune my Level 1 Naturia Cherries with my Level 4 Natruia Mantis and Level 2 Naturia Sunflower in order to summon a monster with some real plant power. I synchro summon Black Rose Dragon!" Willow said as a large dragon made of rose petals appeared.
Black Rose Dragon: 2400/ 1800
"Yeah but you still take 900 points of damage." He reminds.
Willow: 1800
Plant student: 3300
"And it's nowhere near as strong as my Queen." He said.
"Not yet, but by banishing one Plant monster from my graveyard I can lower your Insect Queen's attack power to Zero!" Willow declares as Black Rose Dragon fired vines tying up Insect Queen.
Insect Queen: 0000/ 0000
"It's alright, I can still survive this." He said nervously.
"Not for long. I have one card left. I activate my facedown Call of the Haunted which lets me bring back my Naturia Rock." Willow said as her rock monster appeared.
Naturia Rock: 1200/ 1200
"Naturia Rock destroy his token!" Rolling in, Naturia Rock crushes the token with ease.
Willow: 1800
Plant student: 2100
"And thanks to your Skull Invitation you lose 300 more." Willow said as his own trap hurt him.
Plant Student: 1800
"Which leaves just enough for my dragon. Exterminate that Insect Queen!" Willow said as Black Rose Dragon attacked Insect Queen destroying it.

Plant student: 0000
"Oh man, great match Willow. I thought I had you." He groans.
"Maybe next time." Willow smiles.
In another part of the school, another duel was going on.
At a desk, Amity was dueling Boscha and on Amitys' field was Gem-Knight Topaz and Gem-Knight Garnet while Boscha had Flamvell Grunika and Flamvell Poun.
Charging in Gem-Knight Topaz destroys one of Boscha's monsters causing her to growl.
Amity: 6300

Flamvell Poun: 200/ 200
"Gem-Knight Garnet attack Flamvell Poun." Amity said as her monster charged in and punched it destroying it.
"When my Poun is destroyed I can add one monster with 200 defense points and add it to my hand, like my Flamvell Baby." Boscha said.
"Now my Gem Knight Topaz comes in for a second attack!" Amity said as Gem Knight Topaz blasts her monster.
Amity: 6300
Boscha: 4600
"And when my Topaz destroys a monster you take damage equal to its attack points." Amity said as Topaz blasts Boscha.
Amity: 6300

"Is that the best you got Boscha?" Amity mocks setting one card facedown.
"Hardly. I'm bringing the heat." Boscha drew. "I play the field spell Molten Destruction!" Slamming a field spell down the field turned into a volcano field. "Now all my fire monsters gain 500 attack points. Sure they may lose 400 defense points but I don't play defense. Now I summon Flamvell Firedog!"
Appearing on Boscha's field was a dog made of molten magma.
Flamvell Firedog: 2400/ 0000
"Take out her Gem Knight Topaz!" Boscha said as her Firedog bites Amity's monster with flaming teeth destroying it.
Amity: 5700
Boscha: 2800
"And when my Firedog destroys a monster I can summon another monster with 200 defense points from my deck. Like my Neo Flamvell Sabre!" Boscha said summoning a warrior with a flame sword. "And thanks to my Molten Desturction he gets a boost too!"

"Attack her Gem Knight Garnet!" Swinging its flaming sword Flamvell Sabre slashes Garnet in half.
Amity: 5600
Boscha: 2800
"And I end my turn with two cards facedowns." Boscha said.
"My turn." Amity drew.
"Hold it right there! Activate Backfire!" Boscha said revealing her trap. "Now whenever you destroy one of my fire monsters you take 500 points of damage."
"Always playing with fire." Amity said looking at her hand. "I play a monster in defense mode and that's it."
"That's it? Ha, guess you didn't draw the card you needed." Boscha drew. Now I summon my Neo Flamvell Origin in attack mode." Boscha said as her tuner monster appeared.
Neo Flamvell Origin: 1000/ 0000
"And now I tune my Level 2 Flamvell Guard with my level 4 Flamvell Sabre in order to sychro summon my Level 6 Flamvell Uruquizas!" Appearing on her field was a large muscular monster with flames coming out of him.
Flamvell Uruquizas: 2600/ 0000
"When my Uruquizas attacks a monster in defense mode the difference comes out of your lifepoints. Attack!" Boscha said as Uruquizas' fist erupted in flames.
"I activate Draining Shield! Now instead of attack your monsters attack points are added to my lifepoints!" Amity said.
"What?!" Boscha gasps as Amity's lifepoints went up.
Amity: 8200

"I still have my Firedog! Go!" Charging in Boscha's Firedog attacks the monster revealing it to be a turtle.
Gem Turtle: 0/ 2000
"When my Gem Turtle is flipped, I can add a Gem Fusion to my hand." Amity said adding it.
"Well my Firedog still has his effect. Come on out Flamvell Dragonov!" Boscha said as a flaming dragon appeared.

"Attack her directly!" Boscha said as Amity got blasted by a flaming breath attack.
Amity: 6600
Boscha: 2800
"Your move." Boshca said certain she could take back this duel.
Narrowing her eyes, Amity drew. "Nice try Boscha, but this duel is mine. I activate Gem Knight Fusion! By fusing the Gem Knight Alexandrite, Gem Knight Sapphire and Gem Knight Emerald in my hand I can fusion summon Gem Knight Master Diamond!" Amity said calling forth a gleaming knight that shined like a diamond.
Gem-Knight Master Diamond: 2900/ 2500
"And he gains 100 attack and defense points for every Gem-Knight in my graveyard and I have 7." Amity declares as Diamond's attack points went up.
Gem-Knight Master Diamond: 3600/ 3200
'Oh no, my Rush Recklessly card won't be enough.' Boscha thought looking at her last facedown.
"And now I banish Gem Knight Topaz so my Master Diamond gains his special ability so when he attacks you take damage equal to your monsters attack points. Attack her Uruquizas with Diamond Blade Strike!" Amity declares as her Gem-Knight slays Boscha's monster.
Amity: 6600
Boscha: 0000
"Aw man not again." Boscha groans banging her head on the desk.
"Better luck next time." Amity said taking her cards and leaving.
"One of these days." Boscha growls.
Meanwhile in the Human Appreciation Society, Gus was leading the club while wearing a paper crown on his head as some mislabeled human items were on the table.
"Behold. The wonders of the human realm." Gus said picking up a paper clip. "This little fella's one of their most valued objects. It aids in the compiling of printed wisdom, the scratching of gunk from under your nails, and my favorite it even mimics the sounds of the human ocean." Gus said flicking it. ": Aah! The human realm. So beautiful. It's safe to say that the pay‐per‐clorp is a stunning testament to human ingenuity. Any questions?"
Looking to the table Gus sees fellow members Eileen, Bo and a Unicorn member falling asleep, while a boy with brown hair raised his hand.
"Ah! Our newest member: Mattholomule." Gus points.
"Augustus, is this what the president of the Human Appreciation Society thinks passes as "Human Artifacts"?" Mattholomule asks.
"Yes, in fact the famous card game Yu-Gi-Oh which is being played all over this school is a human artifact." Gus points out.
"Yu-Gi-Oh is one thing, but at my old school. We had real treasures." Mattholomule pushes Gus' artifacts to the side before pulling outrock painted to look like a cell phone, an egg with a skull painted on it, and a shoe made out of mud, leaves, and twigs.
"So real." The other members gasped.
"I wanna touch them." Bo said.
"Go ahead. In my club, we didn't have any dumb rules." Mattholomule mocks causing Gus to gasp and turn to his rules.
"He didn't mean that." Gus said.
Turning to the table, Gus saw everyone touching Mattholomule's artifacts before taking them away.
"Hey!" The three of them said.
"Well, this isn't your club. Thankfully." Gus glares.
"Exactly, who thinks I should be president?" Mattholomule asks as they started talking.
Looking at his objects Gus' eyes widen.
"These are fakes!" Gus declares surprising everyone.
"You can't prove that!" Mattholomule stutters before fixing himself. "You're just trying to distract these human appreciators. You're afraid of getting kicked out of office. It's your word versus mine."
"I don't know what to believe in anymore."
"My faith in Gus has been broken."
As Gus looks to the chalkboard he sees a poster of Luz and Minato getting an idea.
"What if I brought in an expert?" Gus said getting their attention.
"Yeah, right. Who can you find that's a bigger human expert than any of us?" Mattholomule asks.
"Real humans, and one who was born to a human and a witch, a hybrid." Gus declares surprising them.
"Yeah uh huh and you've never brought these friends here. Why?" Mattholomule asks.
"Well they're busy, they have jobs. But I'll bring them in tomorrow. They'll prove I'm right." Gus assures.
"Sure you will, Augustus. Sure you will." Mattholomule mocks making Gus nervous.
Later that day at the Owl House, a duel was going on between Minato vs Tiger Lily with Luz watching from nearby.
Minato: 5400
Tiger Lily: 4100
Minato only had one facedown while Lily had Amazoness Paladin and Amazoness Archer and the spell The A. Forces and a facedown.
Amazoness Paladin: 2300/ 300
Amazoness Archer: 1800/ 1200
"My turn." Minato drew. "I summon Blackwing Sirocco the Dawn!" Minato said summoning a bird warrior.
Blackwing Sirocco: 2000/ 500
"Now attack her Amazoness Archer!" Minato said as Sirocco flies in and slashes Lily's Archer destroying it.

Tiger Lily: 3900
"And I end my turn with one card facedown." Minato said.
"My turn." Lily drew. "By revealing my Amazoness Queen in my hand I can special summon my Amazoness Spy to the field in defense mode." Tiger Lily said as her cloaked amazon appeared.
Amazoness Spy: 800/ 1200
"But she won't be around for long because I sacrifice her to summon the Amazoness Queen!" Appearing on the field was a tough amazon warrior with a large sword sitting on a throne.
Amazoness Queen: 2400/ 1800
"And thanks to my allied forces both my amazoness get a boost." Lily grins.
Amazoness Queen: 2800
Amazoness Paladin: 2300
"Now Amazoness Queen attack Sirocco!" Lily said.
"I activate my facedown card go Mirror Force!" Minato said as a barrier appeared.
"Oh no you don't! I activate my trap, Seven Tools of the Bandit! I may pay 1000 lifepoints but your trap is destroyed along with your monster." Lily said as Minato's barrier was shattered.
Minato: 4600
Tiger Lily: 3000
"And now my Paladin attacks you directly!" Lily said as her Paladin slashes Minato causing him to cringe.
Minato: 2300
Tiger Lily: 3000
"And I end my turn with one card facedown." Lily said.
"My turn." Minato drew. "I summon Blackwing Shura the Blue Flame." Minato said summoning his monster.
Blackwing Shura: 1800/ 1200
"Now I tune Blackwing Gale the Whirlwind with Shura in order to Synchro summon Blackwing Armor Master!" Minato said as a Blackwing with dark armor appeared.
Blackwing Armor Master: 2500/ 1500
"And now I activate my trap card, Call of the Haunted to bring back Sirocco the Dawn." Minato said bringing back his bird. "Now Armor Master attack her Amazoness Queen!"
"What? But your monster is weaker?" Lily said confused.
"Just watch." Luz smiles as Armor Master and Amazoness Queen clash but Armor Master flies back unharmed.
"You see when he attacks my Armor Master isn't destroyed and I take no damage, but he does leave a little present behind." Minato said pointing to a wedge counter on Amazoness Queen. "By removing the Wedge counter your Queen's attack and defense points become zero."
Amazoness Queen: 0/0
"Now Sirocco take out her Queen!" Flying in Sirocco slashes Amazoness Queen destroying it.
Minato: 2300
Tiger Lily: 1000
"And with that I end my turn." Minato smiles.
"Good combo, I didn't see that coming." Lily drew and smiles. "But now I'm gonna show you my favorite Monster. First I play Double Summon which lets me summon my Amazoness Fighter." Lily said as muscular amazon appeared.
Amazoness Fighter: 1500
"And now for my second summon I sacrifice her and my Paladin in order to summon Guardian Eatos." Lily declares as a tribal woman with eagle wings appeared.
Guardian Eatos: 2500/ 2000
"And now I activate Smashing Ground to destroy your Armor Master." Lily said as a giant fish crushes Minato's monster. "Now my Eatos has a clear path to your Sirocco."
Flying in Eatos punches Sirocco destroying it.
Minato: 1900
Tiger Lily: 1000
"I end my turn." Lily said.
"Wow Lily's gotten better." Luz admits.
"My turn." Minato drew. "I summon Blizzard the Far North and when he's summoned I can bring back my Bora the Spear!"
Appearing on his field two birds appeared.
Blizzard the Far North: 1300/ 0
Bora the Spear: 1700/ 800
"And now I tune my level 2 Blizzard and my level 4 Bora to summon Blackwing Armed Wing!" Minato said as a blackwing with a rifle appeared.
Blackwing Armed Wing: 2300/ 1800
"Hate to burst your bubble but he's not strong enough." Lily said.
"Not on his own. Attack!" Minato said as both feathery warriors spread their wings and flew in. "From my hand I use Kalut the Moon Shadow's effect and my Amred Wing gains 1400 attack points!"
Blackwing Armed Wing: 3700
Glowing bright Armed Wing swings his weapon slashing Eatos.
Minato: 1900
Tiger Lily: 0000
"Aw man I thought I had you." Lily frowns.
"Maybe next time Lily." Minato smiles when they heard a knock at the door.
"I got it." Eda said opening it to reveal Gus.
"Luz, Minato I need your help." Gus said.
As the three of them and King were helping Eda unload boxes Gus explained everything.
"Gus, I'd love to go to school with you, but I don't know how I can. Principal Bump banned me from Hexside." Luz said pointing to her wanted poster.
"And I'm pretty sure he's still mad at me for blasting a huge hole in the place." Minato said.
"I'd like to help, but uh Katara and I are still learning ourselves." Lily admits.
"But nothing. Bump did you a favor. There ain't nothing for you at that dweebus factory." Eda said turning to Gus. "No offense."
"It's okay. I come from a long line of dweebuses." Gus smiles.
"Well, I would love to go some day. Better than unpacking boxes in the Eda Coven." Luz said.
"Oh, you think you're clever, huh?" Eda glares.
"Ooh fight, fight, fight!" King said.
"Can it King! First off, it's the "Bad Kid Coven" and second off, I guess you don't want in on the T‐shirt order, huh?" Eda asks showing a pic of her on a t-shirt.
"I don't care about T‐shirts, Eda! I want to learn magic, and they teach that at Hexside!" Luz said standing up.
"I would really like to go myself and learn more magic too." Lily admits.
"Uh I don't know, last time I went there it got messy." Minato said.
"Minato, we're barely learning anything and you do really want to stick with Eda pushing you off cliffs until you fly?" Luz asks.
"You know what maybe I might be willing to give Hexside a second chance." Minato said almost instantly.
"Traitor!" Eda points standing up. "I don't wanna hear another word about Hexside, unless it's "Hexside is on fire" and let's grab front row seats!" Eda said walking out and slamming the door.
"Aw look what you did. I'm gonna go rub it in." King said following her.
"Sorry Gus." Minato said.
"Uh L‐Luz, a‐about the ban, I, uh, used my H. A. S. presidential authority to pull some strings. You've been given a full pardon." Gus declares surprising them.
"You mean?" Luz gasps.
"The ban is lifted!" Gus smiles.
"Wow Gus, you the man." Minato smiles.
"Quite impressive." Lily said.
"So does that mean you three will come to school tomorrow?" Gus asks.
"Of course I'll be there tomorrow! Gus, this will be great!" Luz said excited. "I get to see the school and save the president."
"I've never been to a school before, it could be interesting." Lily smiles.
"Great, I'll see you three tomorrow. Oh and Minato, don't bring the Monado we don't usually allow weapons on school grounds." Gus said
"You got it." Minato nods as Gus walks out and closed the door.
"Yes! You did it, Gus! You're the best." Gus sang doing a little dance.
"Sweet moves, little dude." Hooty said startling him.
"I always forget you're there." Gus said.
"I forget I'm here too. Boop." Hooty said.
"This is gonna work out after all." Gus smiles.
The next day at Hexside, Gus was talking to Willow.
"This isn't gonna work out at all." Willow said worried.
"Well, I feel like I took care of any potential problems." Gus said.
"You lied to our best friends and told her you got the ban lifted. That seems like a potential problem to me." Willow said.
"You don't understand. The members were going mad. They were bloodthirsty. They were touching objects. I had no choice!" Gus said.
"Really? What about all the wanted posters around school?" Willow asks.
"What wanted posters?" Gus asks opening his bag revealing he took them all. "I also got them these to keep them undercover." Gus said pulling out cowls.
"Wait 3?" Willow asks.
"Hey guys." Luz said walking over with Minato and Lily.
"A third human?" Willow gasps.
"Willow, we'd like to officially introduce you to Tiger Lily." Minato said.
"Hi there. I've heard a lot about you." Lily said.
"Nice to meet you, anyone who's a friend of Minato and Luz is a friend of mine." Willow smiles shaking her hand.
"So what's with those?" Minato asks pointing to the cowls.
"Oh uh behold your new cowls!" Gus yelps putting them on their heads.
"Wow, new smells like old." Luz said as Minato and Lily fixed their cowls.
"Are these necessary?" Minato asks.
"Yep gotta hide your ears. Wanna keep you under wraps until the big reveal." Gus chuckles.
"Oh I get it, Gus wants us to really blow them away. Don't worry, you bring the razzle and we'll bring the dazzle." Luz said tossing out handfuls of confetti.
"Do you always have confetti on you?" Willow asks.
"More often than you think." Minato chuckles as they put their hoods over their heads when they suddenly heard Gus' alarm demon scream.
"That's my alarm. Uh, we better get going. See you after school, Willow." Gus said.
"It was nice meeting you." Lily said as they followed Gus inside.
"Bye, friend. Be safe. Make good choices." Luz calls out.
"Oh, Gus. I hope you know what you're doing." Willow sighs.
Meanwhile outside the Owl House, Eda had gone to the least likeliest of sources for opinion.
"So the kids want to go to Hexside and I am stumped." Eda said leaning against the door.
"I say let them go, I'm planning on enrolling Katara there." Dez said surprising her.
"Are you serious?" Eda asks.
"Yeah she said she was interested in going to school and being a normal teen for a little bit. I mean what do you have against them going to school?" Dez asks.
"I'm trying to protect them. Hexside chews up anything unique and spits out bland mush." Eda said.
"I chew insects. I turn them into mush." Hooty said.
"Yeah but remember how much Miguel loved that place. Minato would be so happy there." Dez said.
"Well I guess it is my beef. Do they need to draw their own conclusions?" Eda asks.
"Couldn't hurt." Dez shrugs.
"My beef is insects. They're what I eat." Hooty said.
"Do you have anything helpful to add?" Dez asks.
"All I know is Eda taught me and I turned out great." Hooty said trying to eat a bug.
Pausing both Eda and Dez's eyes widen in horror.
"I gotta get those kids into school." Eda said.
"I'm about to head over to enroll Katara, wanna join me?" Dez asks.
"Absolutely." Eda said quickly.
Back at Hexside, some students took a little guy's backpack.
"Hey! Give that back!" He said as they played monkey in the middle with him.
Suddenly a giant hook grabs a student and yanks him in revealing it to be a school guard.
Leaning in the guard sniffs him.
"Trouble." It said as a second guard grabbed the second bully.
"No! Not detention!"
"The only thing I'm guilty of is being too real!"
"That's new. When did they show up?" Minato asks watching them.
"Right after your last visit. They smell trouble. Literally." Gus said.
"I'm kinda new to this whole school thing. Are all schools like this?" Lily asks.
"No." Luz said as one sniffs around.
"Trouble." The guard said causing Gus to gulp.
"Okay, time to run for no particular reason." Gus said leading them away only to bump into Mattholomule causing his crown and all of Luz's wanted posters to fall out.
Gasping Gus grabbed all the posters before they noticed.
"Augustus, you should really watch where you going. Don't want the president of the H. A. S. getting hurt on his last day in office." He smirks grabbing the crown. "These must be your humans and hybrid. Hmm. Looks like another witchling to me."
"Psst. Psst. Dazzle." Gus whispers.
"Oh right." Luz imitated trumpets before all three of them pulled down their hoods revealing their ears. "Tada!"
"Humans?! And a real hybrid?!" Mattholomule gasps.
"Not just any humans, expert humans and hybrid." Gus said.
"Yeah we've been doing this for a long time." Luz brags.
"We know all there is about being human." Minato smirks.
"They're here to authenticate your treasures." Gus said taking his crown back and walking away. "See you at the meeting."
"No! No! No! They can't know I lied! Then they'll never make me President!" Mattholomule panics when he sees a Luz Wanted Poster. "Ooh, I have you now Gus."
Outside the school, Dez and Eda stood in front.
"Ugh. I had this nightmare before." Eda groans.
"Yeah back when you and Miguel were kids." Dez recalls.
"Yeah, he made this place bearable." Eda chuckles as they walked in.
In another hallway, Gus was leading Minato, Luz and Lily down the hall.
"As president of the H.A.S., I should feel bad about dunking on one of our own members. But as a Gus, I feel like doing this: oh yeah oh yeah." Gus said breaking into dance causing Lily to giggle.
"You guys have some interesting friends. They remind me of the Peter's Neverkids." She smiles.
"Yeah they're real fun when you get to know them." Minato said when Luz spotted a trophy case.
"Hey Minato look at this, your dad's name is on this one." Luz calls out.
"Really?" Minato said as they walked over.
"Awarded for most feats of Bravery and Extraordinary Magic in the face of danger, Miguel Soulwing." Luz read.
"Wow, maybe someday you'll get a trophy in this case." Lily said.
"Maybe." Minato smiles when a School guard walks by them.
"Wow. Who got the trophy for most bones?" Luz asks as the guard sniffs the air causing Gus to panic and grab their arms.
"Whoa Gus what's the rush?" Minato asks.
"We don't have time for this right now. We gotta get to the clubroom." Gus said.
"Alright but after you owe us a full tour." Lily said.
"Yeah next time." Gus laughs nervously when Luz sees the Abomination Professor.
"Hey it's Abomination Professor." Luz said spotting him. "I should say hi and probably apologize for the last time I was here."
"What happened last time?" Lily asks.
"Long story." Minato said.
"Hey, Mr. Abomination Professor. The "abominominator." Remember me?" Luz asks getting his attention before letting out a small roar.
As the Professor narrows his eyes, Gus grabs her arm.
"You know what I think we do have time for a tour." Gus said
In Bump's office, Eda and Despairo were sitting down opposite his chair.
"Been quite a while since I've sat here, huh?" Eda asks leaning in her chair. "I gotta admit it's extra weird without you yelling at me for picking fights or stealing."
"Or for doing something stupid to impress Miguel." Dez chuckles.
"I can easily fix that." Bump said using his magic to push Eda back. "What are you both doing here?"
"I want to enroll my human Katara here." Dez said.
"And I want to enroll my humans Luz and Tiger Lily as well as my hybrid Minato. And before you get all judgy‐‐" Eda starts.
"That's not a bad idea." Bump interrupts.
"You no good...wait what?" Eda asks surprised.
"Miguel was one of our best students we'd be thrilled to have his son here and I think the student body could learn a lot from having such an exchange students." Bump said opening a file cabinet.
"Sweet, they are gonna love this." Dez said.
"But before I even consider that, there's a lot to be answered for." Bump said.
"Oh yeah I heard about the Abomination incident and Minato blasting a hole in the school." Eda said.
"Oh, I'm not talking about Luz and Minato. I'm talking about the necrotic experiments, the graffiti, the scams, the cheating, Miss Jenkinmeyer's teeth." Bump said slamming a giant file named Permanent Record Edalyn Clawthrone. "The trouble you caused when you were here, Eda." Bump glares.
"Huh? I thought there'd be more." Eda gulps.
"Dang you were worse than Miguel." Dez cringed feeling bad for her. "Well I better go tell Katara the good news. Good luck Eda, you're gonna need it."
On Gus' tour they stopped at the school Grudgby court which had two basketball hoops on opposite ends.
"This is where we play the sport." Gus said as Skara runs in with the ball when a griffin grabs her and pulls her into the air.
"I hate this game!" She screams as the griffin drops her into the hoop.
"Wow so even the obstacles can score." Minato said as they all applauded.
When Gus noticed a guard nearby he decided to move the tour.
Leading them down the hall, Luz looks in the window to see tons of plants.
"Ooh what's in there?" Luz asks.
"The Plant Homeroom." Gus said as Lily looks inside.
"Ooh I've never seen plants like that before." Lily said when they noticed Willow inside.
"Hey Willow." Luz calls out.
Turning around Willow waves to her three friends but when Gus waves to her she shook her head.
The next class, Gus showed them was full of mirrors.
"And this is where I spend my time. The Illusion Track Homeroom." Gus gestures.
There they saw Emira and Edric wowing the teacher with their magic while the third student ended up making her face disappear.
"Wait if you're here, who's that?" Luz asks as thye looked to see another Gus in the classroom.
"That's one of my illusions. Takes notes for me when I'm not around." Gus said when the illusion holds up a piece of paper that read I'm not paying attention.
"Looks like you might not get very good notes." Lily cringed causing Gus to growl.
"He doesn't always do what he's told." Gus glares.
"Wow, Gus you're good." Luz said impressed.
"Yeah I moved up a couple of grades." Gus smiles proudly.
"Hey where's Minato?" Lily asks as they looked around to see Minato looking in the Elemental Track Homeroom window.
"Now class, Elements are the most flexible class of magic on the Boiling Isles. If you can figure out the right connection your element can extend to another. For example, Earth magic is strong but when crushed it becomes sand, through refinement it can become metal and for the really skilled it can become lava. By finding ways other elements or even other types of magic can connect with your element meaning the possibilities are endless." The teacher explains.
"Endless possibilities?" Minato said interested.
Suddenly Gus's time demon screamed getting their attention.
"Time for the H. A. S. meeting." Gus said.
As the four of them walked away, Gus turned to his illusion and mimes decapitation before leaving causing the illusion to start paying attention.
At the HAS, all the members were eagerly awaiting Gus.
"Human Appreciation Society it is my distinct pleasure to introduce to you..." Gus said as Luz, Minato and Tiger Lily walked in before flipping off their cowls revealing their human and hybrid ears. "Luz and Tiger Lily the humans and Minato the hybrid!"
"Such showmanship."
"They're horrifying."
"Luz, Minato, Lily, would you three mind inspecting these items?" Gus asks as they walked to the table.
"Of course." Minato nods.
"Allow me to determine if they're truly of my realm's origin." Luz said as they reached for an object.
"Stop! Don't make another move!" Mattholomule yells swatting the objects off the table surprising everyone. "I... have something to say. I'm new here at Hexside. Making friends has been hard so I lied. They're all fakes. I thought if I was important enough people would like me. But I've caused enough drama."
Looking to Minato and Luz, Gus nods knowing what he had to do.
"I'll go now." Mattholomule said.
"Hey everyone makes mistakes." Lily said.
"It's okay. You're only human. Well, you know what I mean." Luz said.
"Trust us, we know a thing or two about not fitting in." Minato smiles.
"Mattholomule, you aren't alone. You have a place here in the H. A. S." Gus said as the other members comforted him.
"Thanks, guys. I knew you'd understand." Mattholomule smiles.
Down the hallway, Eda was groaning in agony.
"I don't wanna do this!" Eda whines.
"There's the whiny rebel teen I remember. You'll need this to clean up all the hexed graffiti you left us." Bump said handing Eda a mop and gesturing to the graffiti on the lockers. "Good Luck."
As Eda tried to mop it off the graffiti moved everywhere before forming the words MOTHER NOOOO!
Groaning Eda knew this was going to take forever. "Where's that Katara girl with her fancy water moves when I need her?"
Back in the club room, all the students were saying goodbye to Minato, Lily and Luz happy for making the club so much more enjoyable.
"Hey, Augustus, Luz, Minato, Tiger Lily, thank you for being so forgiving." Mattholomule said.
"Hey no problem." Lily smiles.
"We've all been the new kid before. Right, Minato?" Luz asks.
"Don't worry it gets better." Minato nods.
"Well, I just have one thing to say…" Mattholomule said when the door swings open revealing 3 guards. "There they are! These 2 are the intruders!" He said holding up Luz's wanted poster.
"What?!" Lily said.
"Trouble." They said.
"No, it's fine. The ban's been lifted. Tell 'em, Gus." Luz said when she and Minato got the hook.
"Gus what's going on?!" Minato said as they got dragged.
"Tell them!" Luz yells as they were yanked down the hall.
"Lily!" Minato gasps.
"Oh, who's the liar now, Augustus?" Mattholomule mocks.
"And you still let us come here?!" Lily said shocked.
"I'm sorry." Gus apologizes feeling so ashamed.
Down the hall, Willow was working on her plant.
"Maybe I've been too hard on Gus. I mean, what trouble could they get into?" Willow asks.
"Help!" Minato and Luz scream.
"Huh?" Willow looks to the door and sees Minato and Luz being dragged away.
"We don't even learn here!" Luz said.
"Where are you taking us?" Minato asks.
"Detention." One said.
"Oh that's not so bad." Luz said.
Leading them to a giant door, they look in horror to see the doors were three giant eyes with a giant mouth and razor-sharp teeth.
"Oh come on!" Minato whines.
Back in the clubroom, Gus was glaring down Mattholomule.
"I can't believe you all fell for that. Like I'd actually apologize." He mocks.
"What did you do?" Gus glares.
"Ah, boo‐hoo. I'm sorry. "I am the new kid." "I want friends." Ha! No. I want power. And I want drama. And I got one of those right now. So, what are you gonna do, Mr. President?" Mattholomule mocks when he was grabbed the cowl and slammed against wall.
"You forget I was here?" Lily glares. "You turned my friends in when they were nice to you. Well guess, payback time."
"Uh I'm not scared of you, you're just a human. What can you do?" Mattholomule mocks nervously.
Holding out her hand, Lily was fueled with anger and determination causing a fully completed Magical whip to appear in her hand.
"Uh oh." Gus said hiding behind a desk.
From behind Gus peeked his head up and we saw the shadows of Lily's shadow wiping the floor with Mattholomule as his screams echoed over the sounds of punches and kicks.
Falling to the ground, Mattholomule tries to crawl away but Lily flicks her whip wrapping it around his leg.
"Where do you think you're going?!" Lily snaps as she yanks him back in. "Now where are my friends?!" Lily snaps hitting him in the face. "Tell me!"
As Mattholomule tried to get a word in Lily hit him in the face multiple times.
"Help me!" Mattholomule screams looking to Gus before Lily smacks him again.
"Don't look at him, look at me. No one can help you." Lily hisses picking him up. "Now where are Luz and Minato?"
"Th-They're in detention!" Mattolomule said in fear.
"Well then, we're going." Gus said getting up.
"How?" Mattholomule asks when Gus yanks the fire alarm causing them to get soaked.
Soon the three of them were being yanked down the hall by a school guard.
"But I didn't pull the alarm! It was Augustus! And this human girl beat me up! Are you even listening to me? I demand justice!" Mattholomule screams.
"Oh shut up." Lily said as Willow peeked out and saw them before the three of them were thrown in.
"Wait! Get me outta here! Open up!" Mattholomule yells banging on the door.
"Luz!" Gus calls out.
"Minato!" Lily calls out.
"Over here." Looking ahead they saw Luz and Minato hiding behind some rocks.
"Gus you said the ban was lifted." Luz said.
"What happened?" Minato asks.
"Well I…" Before Gus could finish the floor opened up below them revealing a monster with big teeth, big eyes, tendrils and tons of students trapped in blue pods causing them all to scream in horror.
In the cafeteria, Eda walks in covered in purple slime and carrying a huge sack dropping it at Bump's feet.
"There. The girls' changing room is ghost‐free." Eda said.
"Are you ready to give up? You've barely scratched the surface." Bump smirks causing Eda to growl when she sees Bo and Skara practicing nearby.
"No, like this." Bo summons a ball of fire which then turns into a snowball.
"Oh." Skara mimics and manages to make a snowball too. "Wow." She smiles as they hug. "Friendship is the real magic."
"They're just as bad as Luz and Minato. They'd love it here." Eda smiles turning to Bump. "Alright. What's next, Bumpikins?"
Smirking Bump pulled out a plunger.
"Oh man I wish I had some help." Eda groans taking.
"Wish granted." A familiar voice said.
Turning around Eda saw Katara and Dez walk in.
"What are you two doing here?" Eda asks.
"Helping you get my friends into this school." Katara said.
"I'm only here because I want Miguel's kid here." Dez crosses his arms.
"I don't know, Katara are you sure about this? I did some pretty bad and disgusting things." Eda warns.
"I once had to sneak into Omashu through the sewer system. Trust me I'm no stranger to gross and disgusting things." Katara crosses her arms.
Back in detention, everyone backed up against the wall in horror.
"What kind of sick, twisted places is this?!" Lily panics.
"How is this detention?!" Minato panics.
"This is a death sentence!" Luz panics.
"I don't know! I've never been in detention before!" Gus panics.
"Welcome to my world. Believe it or not, at my old school I was in detention plenty of times." Mattholomule brags as everyone looked at him with deadpan expressions.
"Oh believe it." Minato glares.
"Yeah you're kind of a jerk." Luz glares.
"Well, down in detention, this jerk is king. So, if you wanna get out, you better do exactly what I say. But first, before anything else, we gotta—" Before Mattholomule could finish a blue tendril shot out and yanked him down into a pod below.
"Yeah saw that coming." Lily deadpans.
"Gus why would you lie to us about the ban?" Luz asks.
"I was afraid. I acted stupid." Gus admits.
"Yeah you did." Minato agrees as Gus and Lily slowly made their way over towards them.
"Being younger than everyone is hard. You're overlooked. Ignored. But at the H. A. S. I mattered. I could make sure no one would ever get left behind. I didn't wanna lose that. I'm sorry." Gus apologizes.
"I get it, but next time tell us the truth." Luz said.
"Seriously, we're friends you don't need to lie to us." Minato said.
"Totally." Lily agrees.
Gus smiles when he sees several snakes slither up the hole.
"Let me make it up to all of you. I've got a plan." Gus said.
Yelping Lily flicks her whip whacking them away while Luz and Minato kick the others.
"We're listening!" Luz said.
"Where do we start?" Minato asks.
"By leaving no one behind." Gus said grabbing all four of them and leaping down into the hole.
Landing at the bottom they see Mattholomule in his pod.
"I got from beating this loser up to saving his life." Lily said helping Gus get him down.
"You beat him up?" Luz asks as she and Minato look to her.
"Easily. No one messes with my friends." Lily smiles.
"You rock." Minato smiles.
"You will be a good student." A voice in the pod said.
"I will be a good student." Mattholomule said in some sort of trance.
Bending down Luz tries to bite the pod to free him. "You know, it didn't taste as bad as I thought it would."
"Why don't we just break him out with magic?" Minato suggests.
"Oh, I'll use magic." Gus said pulling out the paperclip and un rolling it. "Human magic."
Stabbing it down into the pod, Gus cut it open allowing Luz and Lily to pick him up.
"Am I a good student?" He groans.
"No." Lily said almost immediately.
They tried to get away only for multiple snakes to approach them.
"Sky Dragon's Roar!" Minato yells blasting them away with wind magic.
"Come on!" Luz said as they climbed all the way back up.
"We're gonna have to bust down the door." Gus said.
"I'm on it." Minato said holding out his hand and a Rasengan started to form before growing in size.
"Charge!" Luz yells as they ran to the door.
On the other side of the door, Willow walked to it and slowly lifted the crossbar off the door when Eda, Dez, Katara and Bump walked by.
"Amazing, I can't believe you cleaned all of it top to bottom." Bump said looking at Katara.
"Told you I could handle it." Katara said.
"Okay we washed off all the graffiti. Apologized to Jenkinmeyer for stealing her teeth. Caught all the wild cerebi. Ah, we should be good." Eda lists.
"If you ask me she could have stood to go without her teeth a little longer. Looking a little round to me." Dez chuckles blowing himself up like a balloon.
"He's not wrong." Bump agrees. "It will be very exciting to have a real human exchange student and I'm especially excited to have Minato here."
"And you won't tell the Emperor's Coven or the Soulwings about this right?" Eda asks.
"No. Hexside School is safe for you both. I'm the principal, not a stooge. Consider your pupils our pupils." Bump said.
"Giant Rasengan!" Minato roars from the other side of the door before blasting it down.
From the smoke they saw Minato, Lily, Luz and Gus panting heavily.
"Eda?" Luz said surprised.
"Katara?" Minato said surprised.
"Dez?" Lily said surprised.
"Guess who got you three into Hexside." Eda smiles.
"What?" All three of them said surprised when the snakes hiss at them.
Narrowing his eyes, Bump snapped his fingers snapping them out of it. "Uh, sorry, Principal Bump. Sir."
"What did you do?" Bump glares.
"Ugh kids." Eda groans.
"To think that any student of yours would be capable of doing anything but create chaos. Eda, take your students and your friends and leave! You are all banned from this campus!" Bump declares.
"What?!" They all gasp.
"Ugh come on guys. It's not worth it." Eda groans.
"I was really looking forward to coming here." Katara said.
"Wait, Principal Bump. Don't blame them. I told Luz and Minato the ban was lifted. We were fighting over the Human Appreciation Society. I brought them all in because I wanted to win. This is all my fault." Gus admits.
"If that's so, Augustus, would you be willing to accept their punishment as your own?" Bump asks.
"I would." Gus nods.
"Dang, dweebus." Eda said impressed.
"Well then." Bump turns to Minato, Luz, Lily and Katara. "In light of that, barring any more trouble, you four shall officially be enrolled in Hexside School next semester."
"Really?" Minato smiles.
"Hold on. Hold on." Eda said walking over to them. Looking to Bump, Eda gestures to give them a minute. "I'm only doing this because I have faith in you. And I know you're too smart to fall for that One‐Witch, One‐Coven nonsense. You can learn a lot from the witches here. And maybe even teach the students here a little Bad Witch Coven." Eda smirks.
"I didn't hear that." Bump said walking to Gus. "As for you, I would be saying detention right now but that seems to be out of order. So, as of now, I'm removing you from the Human Appreciation Society." Bump said taking his crown.
"Does that make me president?" Mattholomule asks face still on the ground.
"Impressive. Still alive. Yes, I suppose you are." Bump said throwing the crown onto his head.
"Yes." Mattholomule groans.
"Now, with that accomplished, Eda, we have some paperwork to fill out." Bump said.
"Wait! I gotta do more stuff? Ugh! You kids better enjoy this place!" Eda groans following him.
"You too Despairo." Bump calls out causing him to sigh.
"See ya later kids." Dez said floating after them.
"Well Katara, we'd like for you to meet Willow and Gus." Luz said introducing them.
"Another human? Wow nice to meet you." Willow said.
"A pleasure." Katara smiles while Gus gasps.
"Katara? Like Avatar the Last Airbender Katara?" Gus gasps.
"Yep, long story." Minato chuckles.
"How about we talk as we show the four of you around?" Willow offers.
"Sounds great." Katara nods as they walked away.
"Hey! Wait. Take me. I'm your president. Oh. Come on." Mattholomule groans being left behind.
Back at the Owl House, all of them were looking at Eda's permanent record which included letting ghosts loose in the girls locker room, raising an army of abominations to start a food fight, hexing the school bells to play pop songs, letting in two giant bug things and feeding the school griffin spicy snacks causing it to vomit all over the Grudgby field.
"Wow. Bump was not exaggerating, you were a horrible student." Luz said.
"Seriously, you got into so much trouble." Lily cringed.
"Hey guys while we're here I saw everyone playing this card game Yu-Gi-Oh at school what is that?" Katara asks.
"Oh Katara do we have something to show you." Minato smiles.
"You are in for some real fun." Luz said as they led her away.
"We got some interesting kids don't we?" Dez asks sitting next to Eda.
"Yeah, we really do." Eda said looking at the last one that showed her but with a young Lilith fighting each other as a young Miguel was walking away unaware of them.
