Chapter 17: Hexside Adventures
Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. For this one, I decided to have some fun and do a little more at Hexside since we didn't see much once they enrolled. And I'd like to give a shoutout to Chris Ketchum who gave me a fun idea for this chapter. I hope you like what I have planned. Please Review and Enjoy.
After that chaotic first day, Luz, Minato, Tiger Lily and Katara were beginning to get used to going to Hexside.
At the Owl House, Luz, Tiger Lily and Minato were eating breakfast while watching the crystal ball when a commercial turned on revealing Tiny Nose at a creepy doll stand.
"If you're looking for a dolly come see me. Come on down to The Dollhouse. We got dollys for every occasion and I assure you they are definitely not cursed but they are…"
Changing scenes, they saw multiple dolls on rotation. "The perfect gift for surprises, graduations, any happy occasion. Who wouldn't want a definitely not cursed gift for any occasion?" Tiny Nose asks when the last doll's eyes began to glow red.
"Uhh…" The three of them cringed when Tiny Nose ran to the camera.
"Please! I'll do anything! Take anything! Help me get rid of these dolls! I'll pay you! I promise they're not cursed! Please!" Tiny Nose begs when a wooden hand grabbed her.
Turning around Tiny Nose saw the giant doll come to life and instantly the commercial went black.
"Nante kotta." Minato said horrified.
"That was…terrifying." Luz cringed.
"You don't think anyone would actually buy those dolls, do you?" Lily asks when the door opens revealing King.
"Hey guys you wouldn't believe what they were giving away at the market. Henchmen." King said holding some dolls including one that looked just like Tiny Nose.
"Help me." It whispers.
Not even hesitating, the three teens grabbed the sharpest knives in the kitchen.
"Uh guys what are you doing?" King asks nervously as they approached him.
Later that day in the Elemental Class, Minato was in front of the class with Luz and Katara watching.
"Alright Minato show me Lightning." The Elemental Teacher said.
Taking a deep breath, Minato held out his hand.
"Concentrate, focus until the magic begins crackling out." The teacher said.
Focusing Minato looks to his hand and instead of the smooth flowing of wind, the random crackling of lightning emitted to the point his whole hand was engulfed in it.
"Yes." Minato smiles having gained his second element.
'Ooh maybe I can help Minato learn some anime lightning moves now.' Luz smiles knowing a few good moves.
After class, Luz and Lily were sitting with Willow, Gus and Katara for lunch as they told the story of what happened this morning.
"So after we destroyed those cursed dolls the spell on them was broken and Tiny Nose was freed." Luz finished.
"So they were cursed dolls. That commercial lied to us." Gus said.
"So how did King react to you guys destroying his new henchman?" Katara asks.
"He was a little shocked to see us stab dolls right in front of him but he'll get over it." Lily said as Minato walks in.
In the cafeteria line, Amity had grabbed herself a tray when she noticed Minato walking in with something wrapped in a cloth.
"Hey guys, lunchtime." Minato smiles taking out three Bento boxes.
"Oh yeah." Lily smiles.
"I've been waiting for this all day." Luz smiles licking her lips ready to eat.
"What's with the fancy boxes?" Willow asks as Minato handed one to Luz and Lily.
"They're our lunches." Minato said as they opened them to reveal cute little lunches. They were even designed with little characters. Luz's had Azura's head and hat in hers and Lily's had a crocodile in hers and even Minato's looked cute and delicious as his had a Pikachu in his rice.
"That's lunch?" Gus said blown away.
"That looks amazing." Willow said.
"Where did you get food like that?" Amity asks popping her head out.
"I made it." Minato said.
"You cook?" Amity said not expecting that.
"Pretty cool huh? If you want, I can make you one?" Minato offers.
"You? Making cute little lunches…for me?" Amity pauses at the thought making a faint blush appear on her face.
"Wow Minato maybe I should come over for dinner more often." Katara said.
"Is that your lunch?" Minato asks looking at the cafeteria lunch which looked like some kind of vegetable dish.
"Yeah, forgot my lunch today." Amity said.
"Well it's looks pretty good." Lily said but the second Amity's fork touched it a flower shrieked and lunged out attaching to Gus's face.
"Aaah! Get it off! Get it off!" Gus screams.
As Luz and Willow helped yank it off Minato looks around and cringes seeing that quite a few students were doing battle with their school lunches.
"Oh that's it. I cannot let this slide." Minato said getting up out of his seat and grabbing Amity's lunch.
"Hey what are you doing?" Amity asks as Minato enters the kitchen to see 3 demons as the lunch ladies.
"Hey students aren't allowed back here!" One said as Minato put the trays down.
"What the heck is this?" Minato points.
"Lunch." The second said.
"Really? Because usually when I wanna eat food I don't want it to punch or try and eat me." Minato said.
"Hey we do our best with this budget. Besides students are able to eat most meals." The third asks.
"Oh please, I could make a better meal than this." Minato declares.
"Oooh!" Turning around they saw Luz, Willow and Gus watching.
"What's it gonna be kid? Care to put your money where your mouth is?" They smirked.
Narrowing his eyes, Minato rolled up his sleeves and took off his goggles.
"Hand me an apron." Minato declares surprising everyone.
15 minutes later, Bump was walking down the hall when he sees tons of students huddled by the cafeteria doors.
"What's going on here? Shouldn't you be eating?" Bump asks.
"Some student called out the cafeteria staff now he's making lunch for the students." An abomination kid said.
"A student?" Bump peeks his head over to see Minato chopping vegetables. "Minato?!"
Shushing him, Luz pulled him back.
"Don't bother him when he's cooking." Luz said.
"Students are not supposed to be cooking in my school." Bump glares.
"Oh let him Bump. We could use a laugh." The cafeteria ladies said.
Pouring water into flour, Minato pounded them into what appeared to be a type of noodles.
Putting the noodles into water, Minato began chopping veggies and tossed his ingredients into a big pot making a broth.
A few minutes later, Minato walked out with a tray containing multiple bowls filled with noodles, veggies, meat and a tasty red broth.
"What is that?" A lunch lady asks.
"I call it Boiling Isles Ramen." Minato said fixing his sleeves. "So who wants to taste it first?"
"I will." Bump said stepping forward. "Considering you wasted school resources on it, it better taste good or else."
Handing Bump a bowl, he sat down at the table.
Taking a fork, Bump grabbed some it and took a bite.
"Wow…this is delicious." Bump smiles.
Curiously, Amity took a bowl for herself and as she took a bite her eyes widen.
"Amazing." Amity said speechless. 'Maybe having him make me lunch from time to time doesn't sound so bad.'
As his Boiling Isles Ramen was cleared off the tray all Minato felt pretty good right now.
"So what do you think ladies?" Minato smirks looking at the cafeteria staff.
"Uh…okay maybe we can try a little harder." The head cafeteria lady said.
"Hey uh can we get the recipe to this Ramen thing of yours?" The second one asks.
"Sure." Minato smiles fixing his sleeves.
At the end of the day, Luz was talking to Minato as they walked out.
"Seriously? Ramen? When and how?" Luz asks.
"Yeah my grandma taught me to make noodles from scratch when I was 9. She was very insistent I learned all the family recipes." Minato said.
"Wow your grandparents sound very insistent." Luz said.
"My grandparents always believed that if traditions weren't passed down they would die out." Minato said.
"I guess there's a lot of truth to that." Luz said.
"Yes sadly they've mastered the art of Guilting their children." Minato said making her laugh.
"That is a dangerous skill. My mama uses that tactic a lot." Luz smiles.
"My mom uses that too and someday I'll pull the same tricks when I'm older." Minato said.
"The tradition lives on." Luz declares.
Exiting the school, Hachi barks revealing he was waiting for them again.
"Hachi." Minato smiles as the palisman ran to him.
"How does he know right when you're walking out?" Luz asks.
"I don't know." Minato shrugs.
Barking happily Hachi ran around Minato before leading him and Luz home.
The next day, Tiger Lily was hanging out with Willow as they were working in the gardens planting flowers.
"So wait you come from a world where you never have to grow up?" Willow asks amazed.
"Neverland. It's almost as wild as this place." Lily said.
"Wow, if I could be a teen for the rest of my life that would be…insane." Willow said lost in thought.
"My dad was one of the few adults there." Lily said.
"Really? Huh? What did you do most of the time?" Willow asks.
"Mostly deal with Captain Hook and his pirates, that was messy." Lily chuckles.
Once the bell rang the two of them walked out.
"So how did the crocodile end up swallowing a clock?" Willow asks.
"That on was on me actually. It was back when I had a crush on Peter and since clocks are a rare thing in Neverland I wanted to show it to him to get him interested but I dropped it and well…landed right in its mouth." Lily cringed.
"Yikes, how much trouble did you get into for that?" Willow asks.
"A lot." Lily said.
"Well thanks for helping me out Lily those plants needed a lot of attention." Willow said.
"No problem." Lily said.
"You're pretty good with plants. You wanna join the Gardening Club?" Willow asks.
"I'm not sure about that, maybe I'll look for something else." Lily said when they heard music coming from a room.
Interested, Lily peeks inside to see Skara and some other students practicing dance moves.
"Come on people one, two, three, one, two, three. Shake it." Skara said moving to the rhythm.
"Oh the dance club? Yeah I'm not really into that stuff." Willow said as Lily walked in.
As the music came to an end Skara had everyone strike their final pose.
"Ha! Nice job everyone take a break." Skara said as Lily walked up to her.
"Uh hey that was a pretty wild dance." Lily said.
"Oh you're one of those humans that joined our school uh…" Skara pauses not remembering her name.
"It's Tiger Lily." She reminds.
"Oh yeah, why aren't you with your fellow humans and that hybrid?" Skara asks.
"I have my own interests, like this." Lily gestures.
"Wait you want to join my Dance Club?" Skara scoffs.
"You got a problem with that?" Lily asks.
"Do you even know how to dance?" Skara asks.
"Somewhat, I do a lot of tribal dances." Lily said making Skara laugh.
"We don't do stuff like that. You wanna dance you gotta be able to move like this." Skara said stepping to the center.
Watching her, Lily saw pop music turn on and Skara took her position.
(I'm not very good at dancing so just work with me)
Moving her body to beat, Lily watched as Skara busted out the fancy footwork moving around really showing off. And from the way she was striking her poses you could tell she had been doing dancing for a while.
Ending with a jump, Skara slid up coming to a stop right in front of her.
"Think your dumb tribal dances can match up to that?" Skara asks.
'Okay we definitely don't dance like that in Neverland.' Lily cringed.
"So think you still got the moves?" Skara asks.
"Yeah I do." Lily said determined.
"Alright let's see it then. If you can match me I'll let you join." Skara said.
"Lily you don't have to lower yourself to this." Willow said walking up behind her.
However, Lily wasn't sure she wanted to back out. She seemed to think the dances she grew up with, her heritage were dumb. And she was not going to stand for it.
Putting her bag down, Lily walks up next to her.
"Bring it on." She declares.
"Oooh." The club said making room.
"Alright I'll make it easy for you. Just follow my lead and try to keep up." Skara said.
Snapping her fingers, the music turned on and Skara took the lead doing some cool, basic movements.
Watching her Lily began copying her but when they both did a leap, Lily slips and falls.
"Ouch." Skara smirks.
As the club laughs, Willow walks in to help Lily up.
"Come on, let's go before it gets worse." Willow suggests.
"No way." Lily growls getting back up.
Doing the dance multiple times, Skara watched as every time Lily fell down she improved a little more each time.
As Skara and Lily spin, she slipped and fell on her knees.
Groaning she looks to see the club still laughing.
'Is this what Luz and Minato have always dealt with since they got here?' Lily thought getting a whole new respect for her friends. 'Well if they can take it, so can I.'
"Had enough?" Skara asks as Lily stood up.
"One more time." Lily said holding up her finger.
"Whatever, you wanna keep falling that's on you." Skara said.
Taking their poses, Lily took a deep breath before the music started.
However as Skara moved Lily was matching her move for move surprising her.
Throughout the dance, everyone watched Lily hold her own.
"Whoa, how is she doing that?" A guy asks.
"I don't know but she's still moving." Another guy said.
"If I fell down that many times I'd have called it quits." A girl said.
Making it to the big finish both moved in for the final pose but Lily moved her foot not completely sticking it as the song ended.
Panting Skara looks to Lily who equally tired.
"I almost had it." Lily said thinking she blew it.
Frowning Willow saw Skara walk up to her and thought Lily was about to be laughed at again but to her surprises Skara patted her on the shoulder.
"You're crazy." Skara smiles. "You almost had it."
"Wait what?" Lily said catching her breath.
"You actually managed to keep up with me. You got moves girl." Skara said as the club walked up to her.
"How were you able to learn so fast?" A guy asks.
"It took me a week to get that good and you got it in one day." A girl said.
"How are you that good?" Another girl asks.
Being surrounded by the club members Lily couldn't help but smile.
"Well like I said I've been doing Tribal dances for my whole life." Lily said.
"So Tiger Lily these tribal dances what are they like?" Skara asks slightly interested.
"Maybe I'll show you how I dance if you show me how you dance?" Lily suggests.
"Deal." Skara said holding out her hand.
Reaching out Lily took her hand and shook it.
"Well what do you now." Willow smiles happy for her.
After school, Minato and Luz walked out to see Hachi waiting for them.
"Hey Hachi." Minato smiles petting the palisman who barks happily.
"Thanks for picking us up again." Luz said.
"Guys! Guys!" Turning around they saw Lily and Willow running to them.
"You are not gonna believe what happened to me today." Lily smiles.
"Whoa someone's in a good mood." Minato said.
"It was amazing. Lily was amazing." Willow said.
"Does it explain why she's all sweaty?" Luz said gesturing to the sweat stains on Lily's robes.
"Oh uh yeah." Lily blushes a little embarrassed.
"You guys have no idea." Willow giggles as the 4 of them walk home.
The next day at school, Luz and Minato were helping Ezra build his Yugioh Deck.
"I can't believe you guys were the ones who brought this crazy game to the Boiling Isles." Ezra said looking at various cards.
"Yeah we were surprised how quickly it caught on." Luz said.
"And the best part is you always find cards in here that appeal to you." Minato said as Ezra looked at one.
"Hmm this one looks cool." Ezra said revealing the card to be Zoodiac Whiptail.
"Hey that one kinda looks like you. You know if you didn't wrap your tail like that." Luz points out.
"What's wrong with my tail?" Ezra asks in a worried tone.
"Nothing, nothing it's cool." Minato said helping calm down.
"Sorry, I get sensitive with this thing." Ezra said taking a deep breath.
"Anyway since this game has become such a hit we were thinking of trying to start up a little tournament. Assuming Bump lets us." Luz said.
"Well have you asked him yet?" Ezra asks.
"Nah we decided to wait until he's less annoyed with us." Minato said.
"So that might be a while." Luz cringed.
Nearby Gus was using his illusion magic to make his duel with Katara interesting.
On Katara's side of the field was General Wayne of the Ice Barrier and one card facedown while Gus had the Field Spell Chronomaly City Babylon and Chronomaly Colossal Head on his field.
Katara: 6400
Gus: 5800
General Wayne of the Ice Barrier: 2100/ 400
Chronomaly Colossal Head: 800/ 1600
"Brace yourself for the powerful wonders of the human world." Gus drew. "I sacrifice my Colossal Head in order to summon Chornomaly Winged Sphinx." As his Colossal Head glows a giant sphinx appeared in its place.
Winged Sphinx: 1600/ 1900
"And when he's summoned I can summon a level 5 Chronomaly monster, like my Chronomaly Moai." Gus said playing a giant eastern island head. "Look upon the wonders and shudder."
Chronomaly Moai: 1800/ 1600
"Is it just me or Gus getting a little too into his deck?" Minato whispers.
"Nope he is." Luz cringed.
"It's gonna take more than fancy artifacts to scare me Gus." Katara said.
"Well then maybe this will. I use my Level 5 Winged Sphinx and Moai to XYZ summon Number 33: Chronomaly Machu Mech." Gus said as a giant floating city appeared on the field.
Machu Mech: 2400/ 1500
"That's a monster? Looks more like a continent." Katara said.
"And now I activate the power of my continent by removing my Colossal Head from the game I can summon my Chronomaly Mud Golem." Gus said summoning a golem made of mud.
Mud Golem: 1700/ 1000
"Uh oh, looks like Gus is on the attack." Minato said as the three of them walked over to watch.
"You bet I am. Next I activate the spell Shrink. Cutting your General in half." Gus said as Katara's monster shrank.
General Wayne: 1050
"Now by using an overlay unit my Machu Mech deals damage equal to the amount of points your monster just lost. Fire in the hole." Gus said.
Using an overlay unit Machu Mech fires at Katara.
Katara: 5350
Gus: 5800
"Nice move." Katara admits.
"Thanks been practicing. Now to gain a big lead. Mud Golem attack." Gus said as his monster readied its attack.
"Oh no you don't. I activate Mirror Wall. This trap cuts your monsters attack in half." Katara said as a mirror wall appeared around her General
Once Gus's Mud Golem hit its attack was cut in half.
Mud Golem: 850
"You used my own idea against me." Gus gasps.
"Yep." Katara said as General Wayne slashes Mud Golem destroying it.
Katara: 5300
Gus: 5600
"Now whenever you attack me with one of your monsters their attack points are cut in half. So I'd think your next move carefully." Katara smirks.
Cringing Gus knew if he attacked with his Machu Mech the same thing would happen and Katara would destroy both his monsters.
"Since you destroyed my Monster I activate my trap Stonehenge Methods. When one of my Chronomaly Monsters is destroyed I can summon a level 4 or lower from my deck to the field in defense mode. Check out my Chronomaly Golden Jet." Gus said summoning a large jet monster.
Chronomaly Golden Jet: 1300/ 1400
"I uh I end my turn." Gus said.
"Good call." Katara said drawing.
"Wow that's a pretty strong card." Ezra said.
"Yeah but if Katara wants to keep it on the field she has to pay 2000 lifepoints or its destroyed." Minato said.
"I'll pay the cost to keep my card up." Katara said.
Katara: 3300
Gus: 5600
"But that's a small price to pay when I use this. I summon Hexa Spirit of the Ice Barrier." Katara said summoning a small blue spirit.
Hexa Spirit of the Ice Barrier: 400/ 200
"A tuner monster? Wait does that mean?" Gus gasps.
"You bet, I tune my level 5 General Wayne with my level 1 Hexa in order to synchro summon my Dewloren, Tiger King." As Katara's monsters merged a beautiful white tiger in armor appeared.
Dewloren: 2000/ 1500
"Whoa that's is one cool cat." Gus admits.
"Yeah but she has an even cooler effect, by sending my Mirror Wall back to my hand she gains 500 points until the end of my turn." Katara said taking her trap back.
Dewloren: 2500
"And now here she comes. Ice Fang." Katara said as her tiger attacks Gus' giant city, destroying it.
Katara: 3300
Gus: 5500
"And to end my turn I place 2 cards facedown." Katara said.
"Whoa Katara's got Gus stumped." Minato said impressed. "Not only can one be Mirror Wall but I bet that second card can help her out down the line."
"Come on Gus, you can fight back." Luz cheers.
"Don't give up buddy." Ezra said.
"My turn." Gus drew his card and smiles. "Oh yeah baby jackpot. I summon Chronomaly Nebra Disk." Appearing on his field was a mysterious green disk with mysterious carvings on it.
Chronomaly Nebra Disk: 1800/ 1500
"When he's summoned I can add my Choromaly Cabrea Trebuchet to my hand." Gus said adding a card to his hand and shuffling.
"Now to build the overlay network and XYZ summon Number 36: Chronomaly Chateau Huyuk." Gus said as a giant domed Chateau appeared.
Number 36: Chronomaly Chateau Huyuk: 2000/ 2500
"And your Mirror Wall won't be of much help this time because when I use an overlay unit I can make your monster's attack points 0 until the end of the turn." Gus said as his Chateua bathed Dewloren in a ray of light.
Dewloren: 0000
"And when I remove my Mud Golem to bring back the Nebra Disk I just sent there." Dusk said as his Nebra Disk appeared.
Nebra Disk: 1800/ 1500
"Now Chateau Huyuk attack Katara's oversized cat." Gus points.
"I activate my trap Mirror Wall. I may take damage but your monsters is still losing points." Katara said revealing her old trap.
Chateau Huyuk: 1000
"Still not enough." Gus said as his Chateau blasts Katara's monster.
Katara: 2300
Gus: 5500
"And now my Nebra Disk can attack you directly!" Gus said as his Disk attacked.
Nebra Disk: 900
"Oh no you don't. I activate my Call of the Haunted and this lets me bring back one of my monsters. Like my Dewloren!" Katara said as the monster Gus just destroyed came back at full strength.
Dewloren: 2000
"I call back my attack." Gus said stopping it.
"Whoa that was way too close." Minato said.
"Are all duels like this?" Ezra asks.
"Oh yeah it's a real exciting game." Luz nods.
"My turn." Katara drew. "Since I can't pay the cost my Mirror Wall is destroyed." Katara said as her trap was destroyed.
"Yes, so much for your trap." Gus smiles smugly.
Katara looks at her hand and tries to figure out her comeback.
"Hey Katara." Minato calls out getting her attention. "Strategy in a game is no different than strategy in a real battle and you've done plenty of those." Minato reminds.
Hearing this Katara smiles. "Thanks for that."
"I remove my General Wayne from the game in order to summon Aqua Spirit in attack mode." Katara said as a beautiful water spirit appeared.
Aqua Spirit: 1600/ 1200
"And now I play the spell Smashing Ground. Which smashes the monster with the highest defense. Like your Chateau." Katara said as a giant fist crushed Gus's monster.
"You have respect for the history." Gus said on the verge of tears.
"Okay Gus is getting a little too into this." Luz cringed.
"Seriously." Minato agreed.
"What are you guys talking about? This is getting good." Ezra said liking this.
"Now I summon Strategist of the Ice Barrier." Katara said summoning an old man in blue robes.
Strategist of the Ice Barrier: 1600/ 1600
"And just like that I'm outnumbered." Gus said.
"Thanks to his ability I can send one Ice Barrier to my grave and draw a card." Katara said drawing a new card. "Now Dewloren attack Nebra Disk!" Katara said as her Tiger slashes Gus's monster destroying it.
Katara: 2300
Gus: 5300
"Now my Aqua Spirit and Strategist attack you directly!" Katara said as her water and ice monster blast Gus dealing double damage.
Katara: 2300
Gus: 2100
"And I end my turn with one card facedown." Katara said.
"Wow Katara you're pretty good." Gus said.
"You're not too bad yourself Gus. We're getting good at this." Katara nods.
"But even so I still wanna win." Gus said drawing. "Since I have a field spell out I can special summon Chronomaly Tula Guardian.
Chronomaly Tula Guardian: 1800/ 900
"And now I sacrifice him to summon Chornomaly Sol Monolith." Gus said as a giant red tablet appeared.
Chronomaly Sol Monolith: 600/ 600
"And now using my Chronomly Babylon I can remove my Tula Guardian in order to summon Moai back to the field." Gus said as his giant head appeared.
Chronomaly Moai: 1800/ 1600
"Using my Sol Monolith's ability Moai's level changes to 6 and now I summon my best card. I XYZ summon Number 6 Chronomaly Atlandis!" Gus said as a giant monster appeared on his.
Number 6: Chronomaly Atlandis: 2600/ 3000
"Whoa how'd he get a card like that?" Minato asks.
"He bought a lot of packs from Eda." Luz said.
"Clearly." Minato whistles.
"Worth it because this card is based on the rare missing human civilization of Atlantis. The 8th continent." Gus declares.
"Uh Gus, Atlantis isn't.." Minato starts.
"No, no let's not ruin this for him." Luz interrupts.
"And when Atlandis is summoned I can take one Number monster in my graveyard and equip it to him giving him half its attack points. So my Machu Mech is about to boost my monster by a whooping 1200 points." Gus cheered.
Atlandis: 3800
"Sorry Katara but I am winning this. Atlandis attack Dewlorean!" Gus said as Atlandis slams its giant fist down.
"I activate my trap Half or Nothing. And just like its name states you can either give half damage or no damage." Katara said.
"Well then I choose half." Gus chooses as Katara's monster was crushed.
Katara: 1400
Gus: 2100
"Ooh that's gotta hurt." Ezra winces.
"Alright Katara this is your last chance, on my next turn Atlandis and I are gonna win." Gus warns.
"My turn." Katara said drawing a card.
Leaning in the three of them were eager to see what was about to happen.
"I summon Effect Veiler." Katara said summoning an angel
Effect Veiler: 0000/ 0000
"A card with zero attack and defense?" Ezra asks.
"Katara's going all out." Minato said.
"I tune my level 1 Effect Veiler with my level 4 Aqua Spirit and Level 4 Defender in order to Synchro Summon Trishula Dragon of the Ice Barrier!" Katara said as a blue three-headed dragon.

"Whoa boy." Gus gulps in fear.
"And this fella has a really dangerous ability. First I can remove one card from you field, hand and graveyard." Katara said as Atlandis was removed from the field, Chateua Huyuk was removed from the grave and a card in Gus's hand was removed from play.
"She just wiped out his best card in one move." Ezra said amazed.
"Yep Katara is an amazing fighter in real life and games." Minato said impressed.
"Sorry Gus no hard feelings, Trishula finish this." Katara said as Trishula blasts Gus with three ice blasts.

Gus: 0000
"Aw man I almost had you." Gus groans as everyone laughed.
"Maybe next time Gus." Luz smiles.
"I'll admit I like this game. It's fun." Katara said.
"I thought Ice Barriers was a good match for you." Minato said.
"And you were right. Thanks for the advice back there." Katara smiles.
"No problem." Minato smiles.
Seeing this Luz's eye twitched. "Okay Katara, he just helped you win a duel. Nothing that big." Luz said.
Eyeing each other both Gus and Ezra were not sure what to say about this.
"So Ezra you wanna play?" Gus asks.
"Sure this game looks awesome." Ezra nods as they helped him make a deck.
As the day came to an end, Hachi was waiting for them as Minato, Luz, Willow, Lily, Katara and Gus walkout.
"Hachi." Minato smiles as the palisman went to greet them.
"That's every day this week." Willow said.
"For real?" Gus asks.
"Yep every day after school Hachi arrives right when the bell rings to greet Minato." Lily said.
"Aww that's so sweet." Katara smiles.
"Hey you like fetch boy?" Gus said making an illusion of a ball and waves it front of Hachi's face. "You want the ball boy? Go get it!" Gus yells throwing the ball but Hachi just stood there.
"Gus if you wanna play fetch bring a real ball next time Hachi's no sucker." Minato chuckles.
"Such a smart little palisman." Luz said petting him.
Barking happily Hachi walks them home.
"I'll get you one of these days." Gus vows.
The next day, Ezra was walking out of Bard's class with a nervous look on his face.
In the library, Willow, Lily, Minato and Luz were doing homework together.
"What idiot came up with the idea of homework?" Lily groans.
"A big one." Minato groans.
"No matter what world you're in homework is still the worst." Luz sighs.
"Sounds like human schools did not make homework fun." Willow giggles.
"Don't even get me started Willow. It was a nightmare." Luz said.
"Yeah well homework here can be a nightmare too." Ezra said sitting with them.
"What's up with you Ezra?" Luz asks.
"It's an assignment, I need to create an Anti-Love song for my project." Ezra asks.
"Anti-Love?" Minato raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah there are many different kinds of love songs well, unfortunately, I got last pick and ended up with the anti-love song, so I gotta make a song that shows 2 people singing about how they have no interest in each other whatsoever." Ezra said.
"That doesn't sound so tough." Luz said.
"I need to find 2 students to sing it. Any of you guys interested? Volunteers get extra school credit." Ezra asks.
"Sorry, Ezra but I can't sing." Willow said.
"I'm more of a dancer than a singer." Lily admits.
"You know Ezra, Minato's a pretty good singer." Luz gestures.
"Really?" Ezra said interested.
"Well sorta I mean I can sing but I've never done it front of an audience before." Minato said.
"It's Bard Class, it's not that big." Ezra deadpans. "Please Minato I need your help."
"Okay okay I'll help you." Minato said.
"Yes, now I just need a girl. Luz, Willow and Gus say you love jumping into wild fun things." Ezra said turning to her.
"I do, but uh I can't hit high notes." Luz cringed.
"Well I have one now I need another. I don't suppose you guys know anyone who would be interested in Extra Credit?" Ezra asks.
"I might know someone." Minato admits.
At her locker, Amity was putting her books away with Minato and Ezra talking to her.
"You want me to help you with a project?" Amity asks.
"Can you sing?" Minato asks.
"Somewhat." Amity shrugs.
"Better than nothing." Minato shrugs.
"Amity please, I'm desperate no one else I know can sing." Ezra said.
"You get extra credit for volunteering." Minato points.
"I do?" Amity said interested.
"Yep teacher's word. Any volunteer I get gets extra credit to whatever track they're in." Ezra said.
"I'll even throw in a lunch for you and help with Abomination homework if you do it." Minato said trying to sweeten the deal.
"Uh you know I'm the Top Abomination student right? If anything I see you asking me for help on homework." Amity said.
"Uh…okay you got me there. I didn't think that last part through." Minato admits making her Amity giggle.
"But love the effort. Make it two lunches and you got a deal." Amity said holding up her fingers.
Ezra turns his head to Minato for his answer.
"Alright two bento boxes it is." Minato sighs.
"Yes! I've got my singers, now I just need a song." Ezra said.
"Then get writing." Minato nudges.
"Right see you guys tomorrow!" Ezra said running off.
"You have some weird characters in your life." Amity said.
"So what does that make you?" Minato asks.
"Excuse me?" Amity asks.
"Hey you're a part of my life too. That means you're just as weird as the others." Minato said.
"Oh thanks." Amity said shoving him making them laugh.
"So you can laugh, maybe working with you won't be so bad." Minato smiles.
"Maybe not." Amity said.
"Well for Ezra's sake I hope you can put up with me long enough to finish his song." Minato said.
"I'll try but no guarantee you'll make it easy." Amity said.
"Oh thanks." Minato said shoving her.
"Hey." Amity said.
"Don't dish out what you can't." Minato said walking away.
"That hybrid I swear." Amity shook her head.
A few days later, the Bard students were presenting their versions of love songs: puppy love, love at first sight, crushes, etc.
"Alright next up is Anti-Love, Ezra Basil." The Bard teacher calls up.
"Right here sir." Ezra said standing up.
"You have everything ready?" The teacher asks.
"Yep I got my singers ready to come out." Ezra said.
"Very well, what are their names so I can make sure they get the credit?" The teacher asks.
"Minato Nakamura and Amity Blight." Ezra states.
"Very well send them in." The teacher said.
Making his way to the back, Ezra saw Minato and Amity reading the song lyrics.
"Okay I think I got my cue figured out." Minato said.
"Me too." Amity said.
"Alright guys, show time." Ezra said as his guitar glowed. "Everyone ready?"
Nodding Minato and Amity got in position as the curtain pulled back.

The class looks to see Minato and Amity standing together as a dark landscape to mimic the night sky was behind them.

As the two of them finished singing the whole Bard Class stood up in applause.
"Well…that was unexpected." Ezra said looking at his lyrics.
"Wow Amity you really nailed that." Mianto said.
"Yeah you too." Amity said.
Looking away nervously both weren't sure what to say.
"I'll admit this wasn't as bad as I thought." Amity said.
"Yeah well maybe we can hang out again sometime." Minato offers.
"Maybe." Amity said.
I guess Ezra's Anti-Love song had the opposite effect in this case.
As the school day came to an end, Minato, Luz, Lily, Katara, Gus, Willow and Ezra walked out to see Hachi waiting for Minato outside again.
"Hachi." Minato smiles as the palisman ran to him.
"So that thing just keeps waiting for you every day?" Ezra asks.
"We know it's impressive." Gus said making an illusion of a rope chew toy. "Hey Hachi look what I got." Putting it up to his mouth Gus pretend to bite down and growl like it was real but Hachi wasn't fooled.
"Sorry Gus looks like it's Hachi 2-You 0." Willow giggles.
"You're gonna have to either get the real stuff or step up your game to fool him." Katara jokes.
Looking out the window, Amity the group of friends laughing and having fun before Hachi led them all home.
Smiling Amity wouldn't mind walking back from school in a group like that.
