Chapter 28: Escaping Expulsion
Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. And with the second mega episode of Season 3 coming up and the 3-year anniversay of this show, I am very eager to see what's going to happen. I hope you like what I have planned. Please Review and Enjoy.
We find ourselves at a big warehouse with the logo BLIGHT INDUSTRIES on a sign nearby.
As a banner that read Private sale up front and as Emira and Edric watched the door several robed witches entered. Some of them ended up with HEX ME signs on their backs courtesy of the twins.
On stage, two robed witches looked out at the crowd when the lights turned on.
"Welcome, valued investors, to our annual Blight Industries private sale!" Yanking off her hood, we see a woman with green hair and oracle coven sleeves. This is Odalia Blight.
Next to her a man with brown hair and a messy coat with abomination stains struggled to get his robes off. This was Alador Blight.
"If you're interested in reliable home security, we're here to help. And, if you've got an enemy or two. Well, who are we to judge?" Odalia jokes making some investors laugh. "This is my husband, Alador Blight, the greatest abomination creator of the era. My name is Odalia, and as an oracle, I predict you'll love what we've got in store for you tonight. We are proud to present... the first glimpse of our crowning achievement."
Stepping onto the stage we see Amity and a high-tech abomination.
"The Abomaton Soldier! It will pour your tea! Help you keep up with the latest trends! And best of all, it will defend you against any unwanted visitors!"
After doing said things, Amity faced the Abomination Solider ready to fight it.
Touching the amulet around Odalia's neck a similar pendant around Amity's began to glow.
'Mama to Mittens, remember our deal: Make this look good, and we'll forgive your recent lackluster performance in school.' Odalia thought as Amity heard it thanks to her Amulet.
"Yes Mom." Amity sighs.
As the Abomination Solider, goes on the attack Amity dodges.
"Wow, it's so fast and strong. Order now." Amity said in a bored tone.
While the investors loved it, Alador let out a yawn.
Wrapping its arm around her, the Abomination lifted her up.
"Oh no, it's undefeatable. How will I ever escape?" Amity asks when a picture fell out of her sleeve.
Looking down we see it was a picture of her, Minato, Luz, Guz, Willow, Tiger Lily, Ezra, Blanca and Katara from Grom Knight.
Gasping Amity saw the Abomination was about to step on it.
Using her magic, Amity destroys the Abomination almost instantly much to the crowd's dismay.
"That's awful." One said as investors began to leave.
"Oh, of course, w-well that was b-but a beta test. We can't wait to see you all next week when we reveal the uh... the finished product in all its glory!" Odalia said before turning to her daughter in anger. "Amity! You just lost us a lot of money! What's with you lately?!"
Looking over she saw Amity smile as she picked up the picture.
Narrowing her eyes, Odalia saw this and growled.
"It appears our Mittens is getting distracted." Odalia said.
At the Owl House, we see Hooty banging his head against a pot a few times.
Using her glyphs Luz made a wild entrance. "Light in the darkness, a glittering bridge of ice, the mightiest tree in the forest!" Luz starts when Minato joins in.
"A wind so strong nothing can withstand it and the fastest bolt of lightning!" Minato said showing his magic when Katara and Tiger Lily moved in.
"A powerful tsunami of water that can drown away your foes!" Katara said bending water.
"Summoning Animals from the Astral Plane!" Tiger Lily said cracking her whip.
"And blades sharper than the strongest steel." Blanca said summoning her swords.
"Welcome to Day 3 of Magic Boot Camp!" Luz declares.
At desks, we see Lilith clapping enthusiastically while Dez just listened and Eda seemed to be carving something on her desk.
"Okay I'll admit that was fun." Katara giggles.
"I see why you guys like doing this." Tiger Lily smiles.
"Alright, we spent the first day improving your physical attributes thanks to Minato and Katara." Luz said as they nod.
"Have you been practicing your forms and stances?" Minato asks.
"Yes teachers." Lilth said bowing her head like it was a dojo while Dez just nodded.
"And the second day Tiger Lily and Blanca assisted me in teaching you all the glyphs I've so far learned and mastered." Luz said as Blanca pulled back a tarp to reveal the chalkboard of glyphs. "So today we'll be learning something new."
"Are we about to encounter a never-before-seen glyph?" Lilith asks.
"Now we're talking." Dez grins.
"Unfortunately, no." Luz sighs. "These four either came from nature or another witch's spell. I don't know where to find more."
Pausing the three of them looked at each other confused.
"In any case, we'll be working on altering your magic to do different things." Tiger Lily said flipping the board around.
"Not to mention we'll be also working on how to combine magic with the physical tasks we've made as well." Minato said.
"Ooh! Ooh teachers! Did I do it right?" Lilith asks showing them a glyph combo drawing.
"Very good Lilith." Luz said as Lilith pumped her fist in victory.
"Here you go." Minato said giving her a gold star and making her squeal with joy.
"Uh how's this?" Dez asks showing his combo.
"Hmm almost got it Dez. Just try to switch those around." Luz said.
"Better luck next time." Lilith smiles loving her star.
"Alright Eda how's yours coming along?" Tiger Lily asks only to see Eda had carved two overlapping glyphs on her desk.
"Uh don't know if that's—" Luz starts.
"Double glyph combo, go!" Eda said slamming her hand down but instead of a combo, the glyphs exploded. "Oh dang, I was hoping for more of an ice blast situation."
"Look Eda we know you're eager to get your powers back but try practicing the basics before you experiment." Minato suggests.
"If you can't master those then how can you master the rest?" Luz asks.
"Ugh you kids sound like Lilith." Eda groans.
"Toot toot! The Hexside train is a-coming! Chugga-chugga!" Hooty said grabbing the 5 teens.
"Uh looks like it's time for school." Blanca said.
"King's in charge until we get back!" Luz said as they left.
"Ha ha! Power!" King said.
"Yes! Teachers gone! Hah, I wonder what other combos I can try?" Eda asks coming up with ideas.
"Teacher said we're supposed to master the basics before—" Lilith starts.
"Basics are so basic. Now if we want to be powerful again, we're gonna have to start thinking outside the box! You with me Dez?" Eda asks.
"Actually I'm gonna work on some of Minato's karate forms. Those seem more my speed." Dez said.
"Aw what?" Eda said in disbelief.
"If we want to be powerful again, we have to use nail these lessons perfectly! And we can only do that through repetition, memorization and following the rules." Lilith said with flashcards.
"And I want one of Minato's gold stars!" Dez said as Eda smacked the cards out of Lilith's hand.
"Well, I'm more interested in experimentation, innovation and uh, laughing at tools! Like you! Hah!" Eda laughs before leaving.
Narrowing their eyes both looked down at their substitute teacher.
"Yeah, yeah. I'll deal with it." King walks off. "No one ever said power came with responsibility."
"I'll trade you some glyph tips for karate tips." Lilith bribes.
"Done." Dez said taking off his hat to train.
Across town, the teens were arriving back at Hexside.
"Okay, first day back after the petrification ceremony." Luz said.
"The whole school saw us that day." Blanca said.
"Especially you." Blanca said looking at Minato.
"Look if Bump kept Eda's secret, he can keep mine. And after the past few weeks, we need some boring old classes." Minato said.
"I agree with Minato, boring sounds really good right about now." Katara said.
"Alright let's go." Luz said as they opened the door.
Making their way inside, they looked around only to be spotted by Gus, Skara, Willow, and Ezra who were so happy to see them.
"Guys!" They called out making them smile.
"Willow! Gus!" Luz and Minato smile.
"Skara!" Tiger Lily smile.
"Ezra!" Katara and Blanca smile as they all group hug.
"You're okay." Gus said with a deeper voice.
"Whoa Gus what happened to you?" Minato asks as they separated.
"Did we miss a birthday or something?" Luz asks.
"Witch Puberty." Gus shrugs.
"Skara what are you doing here?" Tiger Lily asks.
"After what happened at the Conformatorium Skara's been dropping by frequently to ask if you were okay." Willow said.
"She's actually kinda fun to hang out with." Ezra said.
Blushing Skara rubbed the back of her head embarrassed. "Oh stop."
"Thanks, Skara." Tiger Lily smiles.
"Hey I'm just glad I got my best backup dancer back." Skara said.
"Speaking of backup, we can't thank you guys enough for helping us back there." Blanca said.
"That's cool, I just hope it helps Eda learn my name. She keeps calling me Goops." Gus said.
"Hey Goops!" A student waves walking by.
"It's already spreading." Gus said in horror.
"But let me tell you, Minato seeing you tie with the Emperor was the most epic thing I've ever seen in my life." Willow said.
"Yeah suddenly I'm beginning to regret all those times I laughed at Boscha's jokes about you." Skara gulps.
"Don't sweat it Skara, we're cool." Minato said.
"Seriously though you were amazing. First, you cut your hair and used it as a weapon, then you had seals appear all over your body, and then you summoned what was hands down the biggest Abomination I had ever seen!" Gus said excitedly.
"Okay, okay take it easy. We're trying to keep things calm here." Katara giggles.
"Hello everyone." Amity said walking over.
"Amity." Minato smiles happy to see another familiar face. "Good to see your leg is all better."
"Yes, thank you. In celebration of your return, I've brought you a homemade fairy pie." Amity said holding a little pie.
"Oh wow thank you I bet it looks—" Looking down at it Minato see the pie was filled with fairies, some with still moving wings. "Good?"
"The ingredients are very fresh." Amity said looking away to hide a blush.
"By fresh do you mean still breathing?" Katara asks.
"I think they might be still alive in that thing." Blanca said.
"Honestly after everything that happened, I'm just happy we have some sense of normalcy." Luz said.
"Agreed." Minato said.
Suddenly the PA system turned on.
"You can't just barge in here!" Bump's voice said.
"Yes, we can. We are the Parent Creature Association. Luz Noceda, Minato Nakamura, Willow Park, Ezra Bazil, Tiger Lily, Katara Calamity, Blanca and Augustus Porter, report to Principal Bump's office now! And you too, Amity." Odalia said.
"Wait I recognize that voice." Skara gasps.
"Mom?!" Amity said in disbelief.
Soon the 8 of them were inside Bump's office with Amity's parents nearby.
"The abomination situation, the destruction of detention, the damages of grom. These are but a few of the incidents that have endangered Hexside students, including our daughter." Odalia said as Amity glared at her mother and everyone else looked at her confused.
"They were accidents ma'am." Ezra starts.
"No excuses." Odalia said.
"Uh just to be clear I wasn't a student until after Grom so technically I wasn't really involved in any of those things." Blanca points.
"I said no excuses." Odalia said making her stop. "Anyway the PCA has decided…" Looking over Odalia noticed her husband was messing with Bump's mask and clears her throat.
"Oh uh these children are bad influences and must be executed." Alador declares.
"What?!" Katara said as they all gasp in horror.
"I mean expelled." Alador corrects himself.
"What?!" Minato and Luz said while everyone else gasped.
Growling Amity looks at her mom and her amulet glowed.
'Take this as a lesson, mittens. A Blight always upholds their end of the deal.' Odalia thought.
Hearing this Amity immediately stood down.
"Principal Bump please they can't honestly make you expel us all right?" Tiger Lily asks.
"Sadly, I have no choice in the matter. Minato, Luz, Tiger Lily, Blanca, Katara, Ezra, Willow, Augustus, effective immediately you are no longer students of Hexside." Bump declares.
"No! Please! You can't do this!" Luz begs.
"We love this school!" Tiger Lily said.
"I can't leave another one!" Blanca said.
"Amity help! Tell them." Minato begs.
As Amity looks up at Minato her mother narrows her eyes Amity stood down leaving them on their own.
"Good. Now, you'll be taking double the classes to make up for lost time. Actually, I'm appalled that you're not in class right now. What are you thinking?" Odalia scolds.
"Right. Sorry." Amity frowns.
Suddenly the door opens revealing a dozen Hexisde guards.
"No! No! Come on!" Gus said as they were all dragged out.
Soon the 8 of them were outside the school looking up.
"Ugh I can't believe they kicked us out." Tiger Lily said.
"It finally happened! Our memorable adventures caught up to us." Gus said.
"Ugh this has to be because of what we did at the Conformatorium. I just know it." Katara said.
"It looks like my final Hexside song…will be a tragedy." Ezra chokes strumming a sad tune on his guitar.
"My dad can't find out about this!" Gus said before picking up a leaf. "Guess I'll have to survive off the land." As he tried to eat the leaf, Gus couldn't bring himself to do it.
"I guess this is goodbye." Willow said hugging a tree. "I'll water you one last time... with my tears." Willow sobs.
"Minato we have to do something. They love this school." Luz said putting her hands on her head.
"I know. I know." Minato said when the door opens revealing Amity's parents.
"Hey!" Turning around Odalia saw Minato approach her. "What is your problem lady? You walk in, expel me and my friends out of nowhere? What the hell?"
"Minato was it? Don't take it personally." Odalia said.
"You expelled us it's nothing but personal." Minato glares.
"Listen I actually appreciate your tenacity. We're just trying to teach our daughter a valuable lesson in business." Odalia said.
"Oh save it. This isn't about business this is about you and your crazy family drama and you decide to take it out on us. Even if we're no longer in school we can still be friends with Amity." Minato said.
"It's shocking how you can bare such a strong resemblance to your father and be so defiant, but I do see your point." Odalia said handing him a business card. "If you're interested in talking things through, I'm sure we can come to some sort of an agreement."
Minato was about to examine it when Luz yanks it out of his hand.
"We don't need your help." Luz said throwing it to the ground. "You think you're our only way back into Hexside? Fat chance."
"We've dealt with worse and we've come out on top." Blanca said.
"That's right, we'll get back into Hexside or die trying!" Gus declares.
"No one's dying." Willow said.
"Not with that attitude." Gus said.
"No Gus." Katara said.
"What if we killed them?" Blanca suggests.
"Ooh." Gus said.
"No killing." Tiger Lily said as they all walked away.
"Yes, well, when that doesn't work, you know where to find us." Odalia said.
"Before we go I have one thing to say you to boy." Alador said walking up to Minato.
"Uh yeah?" Minato asks uneasy.
Reaching into his pocket, Alador pulls out a notebook and a pen. "That abomination you made during your big battle with the Emperor. The Big one, you know the one I'm talking about?" He asks in an interested tone.
"Yeah uh Obelisk the Abomination Tormentor." Minato said.
"Ooh I like it." Alador said jotting that down. "Tell me how did you make something so big? I can't even make one that's a tenth of the size."
"Let us back into school and I'll tell you." Minato offers.
Alador was about to answer when Odalia steps in.
"Clever trick hybrid, but this is why I make the deals. Ta ta." Odalia said pushing her husband away and leaving.
Narrowing his eyes, Minato went to join his friends.
Back at the Owl House, we see Eda making a card pyramid with glyph papers.
"Easy does it…aha! Glyph Pyramid!" Eda declares finishing it.
"And what are you expecting this glyph pyramid to do?" King asks sitting nearby.
"It's supposed to prove that I'm the superior witch. Watch and learn." Slamming her hand down on the pyramid, Eda eagerly awaited something amazing but all that happened was a messy explosion. "Ugh, okay let's think. Bile sacs have different spell phlegm sloshing around together. So why can't I mix these up too?"
"But those are disgusting liquids, these are symbols from the Isles. Maybe there's a different way to combine them." King suggests.
"Hmm maybe Minato's fighting lessons might have the answer but how?" Eda asks.
"Hootly-mootly!" Hooty said amazed.
Looking out the window, Eda saw Dez doing Minato's martial arts drills while combing Fire Glyphs to mimic fire bending.
"Hyah! Yah!" Doing a series of punches and kicks Dez moves out of the way and Lilith's Ice Glyph combo extinguished the flames and a giant ice sculpture of Hooty appeared in its place.
"Hoot! Hoot! Wow, I bet even Eda couldn't do that!" Hooty declares making Eda growl in anger and jealousy.
"Maybe if you just learn the basics like the kids have been saying." King points out.
"I don't have time for basics. I'm on to something, and I'll prove it!" Eda said grabbing her notepad.
At Hexside, we see several banned posters with Minato, Luz and all their friends on them.
"Alright Operation Change Bump's Mind. Let's go!" Luz declares.
"We really need to work on these names." Katara said.
For the first attempt they tried making him a cake to get back in, but when Bump saw the basket hanging by his window he was shocked by the disfigured face and dropped it down on them.
Their next attempt was sneaking in disguised as faculty thanks to Gus' illusions but unfortunately Bump and the teachers they were impersonating busted them.
As they ran away Bump sniffled as a tear ran down his eyes.
Finally, they tried flying in on Minato's Abomination Dragon, but to their horror Bump came up on the roof with a giant crossbow aimed at them.
Cringing in horror, they knew better than to test their luck with this one and flew off.
Once they were gone Bump burst into tears.
"Life is just so dull without them!" Bump sobs.
Soon they all had the doors slammed in their faces again.
"Ah, this is hopeless! Nothing is working!" Gus panics.
"I don't get it. Breaking into the Emperor's Castle in Ba Sing Se and Omashu was easier than this." Katara said.
"Don't worry guys, as long as we stick together we'll think of something!" Minato assures when they suddenly heard a slithering noise.
"Ezzzra." A female voice hisses making him gulp.
"Oh no." Ezra said when a large green tail shot out and grabbed him by the legs
Gasping they saw a woman with short black hair, scales on her arms, legs, and cheeks, a tail twice the size of Ezra's and green eyes. This was Nagini Bazil, Ezra's mother.
"Uh hi mommy." Ezra gulps.
"I just got a call from the Principal saying you got expelled?! You are in big trouble young man." Nagini said as two crows flew in and landed on Gus and Willow's heads.
"Willow Park did you get expelled?!" Her dad Harvey asks through the crow.
"This is Perry Porter with breaking news. In light of recent events, Augustus Porter will be grounded for no less than a year." Perry said as the crow carried him off into the air.
"A year? You people are soft. You'll be grounded and polishing scales for 2 years!" Nagini said dragging Ezra away.
"Just 2?! Willow's grounded for at least 3!" Harvey said as their crow carried her away.
"No!" Ezra screams.
"Help Luz! Help!" Willow screams.
"Save me!" Gus screams.
"So much for sticking together." Blanca groans.
Walking up to them, Amity drops some of her books getting their attention.
"Amity." Tiger Lily acknowledges.
"I uh…I'm sorry about being a coward earlier. It's just my mom." Amity said as Minato picked some up.
"Look I get it, but I'm not afraid of her. Will you take me to her? She seemed like she wanted to talk about this." Minato asks.
"Oh no. No. Minato you don't have to do this." Amity said scared.
"Amity look at us. Your mom kicked us out and now Willow, Gus, and Ezra are in so much trouble. Look I'm used to dealing with people like this but Willow, Gus, and Ezra don't deserve this, and neither do Luz, Tiger Lily, Katara, and Blanca either. I know it's not easy dealing with family, trust me, but I'm not gonna let this stand. Will you help me?" Minato asks.
"I…I can't." Amity said as the school bell screamed. "I'm sorry I gotta go." Amity said leaving.
"Hey Minato, we're gonna try and regroup. Think up a new plan." Luz calls out.
"I think we just need time to sit down and think this over." Blanca suggests.
Turning around Minato stepped on something. Looking down he saw it was the business card Odalia gave him.
"Uh you girls go on ahead. I'm gonna take a walk, try to clear my head." Minato said.
"Be careful." Katara said.
"Come on Luz, we know a good café." Tiger Lily said.
"Food usually does help." Luz sighs.
As they walked away Minato saw the sad, hurt looks on their faces. Even though they didn't get pulled home Minato knew this was hard for them.
Picking up the card, Minato knew this was the best way to get them back into Hexside.
At the Owl House, we see Eda with a confident grin on her face.
"Eda what the heck is that supposed to be?" King gestures.
"I call it the Super-Glyph." Eda declares.
"More like, a stupid glyph." King mocks.
"Just you wait, this'll be a killer combo. Lesser glyphs will shrink in fear." Touching it an ice cube appeared. "Aha! It didn't blow up!"
However, Eda just jinxed it as it grew into a turtle shell with spikes.
"Uh is it supposed to do that?" King asks.
As the glyph expanded Eda and King ran in fear.
Growing exponentially in size the glyph trapped various objects and froze them inside it.
"Uh oh." Eda said not liking where this was going.
At the Blight Manor, Minato was walking to the door with Hachi nearby.
"Thanks for showing me the way Hachi." Minato said as the Akita palisman barked. "Nice to know you still like me."
Knocking on the door, Minato fixed his Hexside robes to try and look more presentable.
As the door opens, Minato sees an Abomination butler with a sad expression answer the door.
"Well…you're no Edwin that's for sure." Minato cringed.
Growling Hachi did not like this one bit.
Opening the door, the Abomination led them inside.
"Well, this place is almost as big as Soulwing Manor. Guess rich people really do have similar taste." Minato said looking around.
Groaning the Abomination pointed to a door.
"Thank you. Stay here Hachi." Minato said walking in.
As Hachi was about to follow, the Abomination grabbed the palisman who started barking in defiance, but ended up thrown into the fireplace and was closed shut.
Making his way down the stairs, Minato looked around to see what looked like a mad science lab.
"Uh Ohayou! Mr and Mrs. Blight?" Minato calls out when an Abomination arm landed near him.
Looking over Minato saw Alador ripping apart and reassembling an Abomination while Odalia sat nearby sipping tea.
"Oh don't mind him dear. He's getting ready for our big demonstration tonight." She said before glancing at her husband. "Looking great hon."
"Alright Mrs. Blight just tell me right now what is it going to take for you let us all back into Hexside?" Minato asks.
"Right to the point. Good. We have a rather important presentation tonight showing off some new products." Odalia explains.
"You mean like Abominations?" Minato asks.
"Something like that. Normally Amity helps us with these things, but she's busy catching up on schoolwork. However, you seem to have quite the reputation going around." Odalia hints.
"I get it. If people see me with your products they'll want to buy it more and if I help you then you'll let me and all my friends back into Hexside." Minato assumes.
"You catch on fast boy. You're smarter than you look." Odalia said.
"But how do I know you'll hold up your end of the deal?" Minato asks.
"Don't worry, hybrid. A Blight always upholds their end of the deal. Now, you might want to go get ready, because we have—"
Changing scenes we see Minato at the Blight Warehouse in front of the crowd.
"A long night ahead of us folks! Welcome back to Blight Industries!" Odalia declares as the crowd cheers for them.
As the crowd booed Minato he turns to Alador. "So Alador, what exactly does your company make?"
"We make a variety of abomination-based accessories for home security." Alador said.
"I can handle that." Minato said.
"But we specialize in weapons." Alador said as he and the Abominations walked away.
"Wait what?!" Minato asks.
"You might want to duck." Alador calls out.
Before Minato could react Odalia blasts him into the wall with Abomination Goo making the crowd cheer.
"Yes, our sticky launcher can peacefully subdue any foe! And, if peaceful isn't your thing.." Odalia turns the lever and green flames shot out of it.
Wiping goo off his face Minato gasps for air. "No wonder Amity was such brat when I met her."
"Get ready folks because we have a big lineup of items to test." Odalia said looking at him.
"Alright lady you want to sell your junk fine, but I never said anything about sitting here and taking it." Minato glares back.
Back at Blight Manor, Amity walked in.
"Mom! I'm ready for the show tonight!" Amity calls out when she noticed a note on the table. "We found a replacement." Amity read aloud.
Turning around she looked at the Butler. "Did anyone come to the house today?"
Before the Abomination could answer Amity heard a barking noise followed by scratching.
Looking around Amity gasps seeing Hachi in the fireplace.
Opening it up, the little palisman ran out.
"Hachi?! What are you doing here?" Amity asks as Hachi barked loudly. Seeing where he was going Amity growled in anger.
At the café, Luz was sitting with Katara, Blanca and Tiger Lily.
"What if we held Bump captive and didn't give him back unless they let us back in?" Luz suggests.
"Too illegal." Katara said.
"What if we tried sneaking in through the school sewer system?" Luz suggests.
"They'd sniff us out instantly." Tiger Lily said.
"Well, why don't you three try thinking of something?!" Luz said frustrated.
"Luz calm down." Blanca said.
"I can't! Hexside is literally the only thing we have that gives us a break from all this insanity. Especially Minato." Luz said.
"We know Luz. We know, but this isn't an easy problem." Katara said.
"Guys!" Turning around they saw Amity, Hachi, Ezra, and Gus running over.
"Amity?" Luz said lifting her head up.
"Minato is in trouble." Amity said.
"Again." Gus groans.
"What?!" They all said standing up.
"We gotta get Willow. We need all the help we can get." Ezra said.
At Willow's house, we see Willow in her room as her dads slammed a ton of books in front of her.
"To make sure you're getting a top-notch education, we're quitting our jobs to homeschool you." Harvey said.
"And we'll spend all our free time having fun as a family." Gilbert said.
"See you at first light for a test on the uh—" Picking a book up Harvey reads the title. "Life cycle of a common swamp toad."
As they closed the door, Willow heard something at her window.
"Willow. Willow!" Luz whispers loudly.
Opening her window, Willow saw all her friends waving at her.
As the door opens we see her dad Gilbert spot her, but when he sees her friends he shushes and closes the door making her smile.
That night, all the teens were lined up along the wall.
"We've been doing a lot of sneaking around lately." Tiger Lily said.
"Welcome to my world." Blanca said.
"I'll use a root system to tunnel our way through." Willow suggests.
"That'll take too long. We should just rush the guards at the door!" Amity suggests.
"Second that." Luz agrees.
"No, no, no. I'll distract them with illusions of beautiful lady guards." Gus suggests.
"This isn't a 40's cartoon Gus. I'll use my bard magic to put them to sleep." Ezra said.
"Oh like that doesn't like a cartoon." Gus mocks.
"Enough! We have to help Minato now!" Luz said.
"Here's an idea. Just walk in the front door." Looking over they saw Edric and Emira tossing them cloaks.
"Ed? Em? You're helping?" Amity said surprised.
"Of course…just don't tell mom." Emira said.
Smiling all of them put the cloaks on unaware of the Hex Me signs on all of them.
Snickering the twins loved this until Amity through the sighs back at them.
Giving them the "I'm Watching you" look, they made their way to the warehouse.
Making their way inside, all of them gasp to see Minato skating around the stage as an Abomination fired a crossbow at him.
"Too slow!" Minato said jumping up and sliding in between the Abomination's legs.
"What is the meaning of this?! He's supposed to be letting them walk all over him." Odalia said frustrated.
"Well technically all you said was we would test our products on him you didn't say he couldn't avoid them." Alador points out.
"Whose side are you on?" She snaps.
As Minato lands opposite the Abomination, a magic circle appeared under him and a giant fist knocked him back causing the crowd to cheer.
"Thank you, thank you. And they say said we couldn't make crossbows more fun!" Odalia laughs as that Abomination left the stage. "Now our victim—I mean volunteer has certainly given you quite a show, but even someone like him will be amazed by this next one. Next, we're very excited to show you our last product from this line."
"Okay, I got this. Only one more stinking Abomination and we're all home free." Minato said relieved.
"My husband has been toiling away to bring you…" As the ground near Minato opens up they look in horror to see an Abomination twice the size of a normal one with golden armor standing next to him.
"The Abomaton 2.0!" Odalia declares.
"No." Luz and Amity gasp.
Turning in different directions Luz and Amity ran off.
"Luz!/ Amity!" They all said before security abominations topped them.
"It's bigger! It's better! The Abomaton 2.0 is the perfect soldier. It won't rest until its enemy is completely eliminated!" Odalia said.
"Well he's no Obelisk but uh he definitely looks tough that's for sure." Minato said when the Abomaton's hands turned into sharp claws in one and a mace in the other. "Why are rich people always the worst?" Minato groans.
As the Abomaton slams its mace down, Minato rolls out of the way and hurls a lightning bolt at it making it stagger back.
Getting back onto his feet, Minato tried to make some room, but the Abomaton shot an arm out grabbing him by the feet and slamming him down by the edge.
Groaning Minato saw Odalia and Alador in front of him.
"Okay lady you made your point! This thing is deadly! You wanna quit while you're ahead?" Minato asks looking up.
"He has a point Odalia." Alador said.
"Didn't you hear me? It won't rest until its enemy is completely eliminated. And besides…it's not like anyone else has a problem with it." Odalia said.
"Oh you son of a—" Before Minato could finish the Abomaton throws him up into the air.
Landing on the roof, Minato puts his goggles on over his eyes.
"This woman is as insane as Elias." Minato said taking a stance.
Leaping up the Abomaton turns its arm into a sword.
Firing water at the ground beneath it the Abomaton began to slip allowing Minato to move in.
"Chidori Stream!" Shooting lightning from his hands it bounced off the water electrocuting the Abomination.
On opposite ends of the warehouse, Luz and Amity were climbing up ladders to try and help him.
Shaking off the attack, the Abomaton swings its arm at Minato.
Using Reinforcement magic, Minato jumps out of the way dodging each strike, but as he dodges the arm sliced the support beams holding them up.
Landing back down, Minato felt it begin to shake.
"Uh oh." Breaking under them the two of them fell back onto the stage crashing down.
"Minato!" All his friends screamed.
As the dust cleared, we see the Abomaton standing up.
Nearby Minato tries to get up but he saw his foot trapped under some of the rubble.
"Come on. Not now." Minato said trying to pull himself free, but the Abomaton was getting closer and closer.
Turning its arm into a scythe the Abomaton was about to strike him down.
Suddenly two vines shot out wrapping around its arm before Abomination magic coated it and the Abomaton's arm changed back to normal.
"Hey!" Two voices called out.
Looking up, Minato saw Luz and Amity from opposite ends with their magic and glyphs at the ready.
"Stay away from my hybrid!" Both declared before pausing and looking up. "Your hybrid?"
"Huh?" Blanca, Tiger Lily, and Katara said confused by what the heck was going on.
"Luz? Amity?" Minato said surprised.
At the Owl House, we see Dez, Lilith, and Hooty sitting down for a training break when they heard a loud noise getting their attention.
"Was a bad noise or a normal noise?" Lilith asks looking up.
"Ehh hard to tell with this place." Dez shrugs.
Walking up to the door they knocked on it.
"Edalyn? Are these distress noises or normal noises?" Lilith calls out.
Inside we see Eda and King dealing with the Ice Blob which was getting bigger and bigger.
"Totally normal! Don't come in!" Eda said before looking at the blob. "I am your mother! You will obey me and die!" Eda declares before slamming a mace down on it, but the blob just sucked it up along with King.
"Eda, help me! Help me, Eda! Eda, help me!" King yells before he was absorbed into the blob.
Gasping in horror, Eda immediately deadpanned. "Ugh fine. Lilith, Dez! Emergency!"
Seconds later the two kicked the door down to see what was going on.
"Whoa." Lilith said.
"Dang Eda, this is bad even for you." Dez mocks.
"Yeah, yeah. I messed up. I'm ready to follow the rules or practice or whatever." Eda said.
"Actually, I'd like to try an experiment." Lilith smirks taking out tons of paper.
"Oooh." Hooty and Dez said interested.
At the Blight Showcase, Luz and Amity dropped down in front of Minato and face the Abomaton.
'Amity Blight, you are in so much troub—" Odalia tried to use her necklace but Amity took the necklace off and crushed it much to her mother's surprise.
"Minato are you okay?" Amity asks looking at him.
"Is your leg fine?" Luz asks looking at him.
As the lights shine down on their faces Minato couldn't help but blush.
"Uh yeah I'm fine." Minato nods before seeing it move in. "Incoming!"
When Amity's spell circles disappeared the Abomaton rose, however, Luz slammed down multiple ice glyphs to protect them from it.
"Shut that thing down!" Luz said.
"I'm trying!" Amity said as her hands glowed.
"Amity! Get away from them!" Odalia orders.
"No, you're gonna listen to me for once. Minato, Luz, and the others, all of them are my friends. They're nice to each other, they listen to each other. They make me think about the kind of person I really want to be!" Amity said using her magic to force it to its knees.
Smiling Luz turns to Minato and offers him a hand.
"Next time you do this, don't be afraid to ask me to join in." Luz said.
As the three of them stood at the ready, Odalia saw their sales plummeting.
"Ugh! What do you want?" Odalia asks.
"Let my friends back into Hexside, or else your precious investors will watch me rip this thing apart bit. By. Bit." Amity threatens.
"Can you actually do that?" Luz asks.
"Yeah can you?" Minato asks but Amity just shushes them.
"Boo!" The crowd yells.
"This is horrible!"
"I want to see some results!"
Seeing their order meter was going down Odalia saw she was beaten.
"Fine! It's a deal! Just stop with the theatrics!" Odalia said.
Hearing this the three of them smile and Amity undoes her spell.
Turning its arm into a hammer, the Abomaton brought it down on them.
Instantly the three hold each other close as the hammer comes down.
When the dust clears, the three teens were on the ground pretending to be unconscious.
Powering down the Ambomaton had fulfilled its task causing the crowd to cheer.
"Luz!" Willow, Gus, and Ezra scream.
"Minato!" Katara, Tiger Lily and Blanca said as they ran to the stage.
Despite their order gauge skyrocketing, Odalia was furious.
"As if I'd actually let them go back! I will call every authority I know! I'll make sure they can't—" Odalia starts.
"Odalia!" Alador interrupts. "You made a deal with your daughter and the hybrid. Both deals are complete and a Blight always upholds their end of the deal." Alador reminds.
Looking at them, they saw their friends helping Minato, Luz and Amity out of the hole.
"Besides she's getting stronger. Strong enough to become a coven head someday." Alador said putting his hands on her shoulders.
As the crowd dispersed Odalia smiles softly.
"Wise words, dear. We have to focus on what's best for the family—" Odalia turns to face her husband but saw he was following a butterfly. "Alador! Ugh forget him. At least with the Abomatron I can keep that hybrid at bay incase he ever tries anything."
Hearing this Minato narrowed his eyes.
"Give me a minute." Minato said walking back up to her.
"What? Don't tell me you actually want a round 2. After the beating, you got at the hands of it." Odalia mocks.
Looking to the back, Minato saw some Abomination parts and got an idea.
"You know Mrs. Blight, I really tried to be on my best behavior since you're the mother of my friend and I wanted to make a good impression, but after tonight I don't give a damn what you think of me. So instead I'm going to threaten you." Minato said.
"Excuse me?" Odalia raises an eyebrow.
"Rise!" Slamming his hand to the ground, Minato's Elemental Abomination goo grabbed the parts and everyone gasps seeing a new Abomination appear in front of the Abomaton.
It had a black chest plate, gold wings, and 4 arms being even bigger than the Abomatron.
"Whoa! Another one?!" Gus gasps.
"Abomination Junk Destroyer." Minato declares getting Alador's attention.
Looking at the new Abomination, Alador couldn't believe his eyes.
"Amazing." Alador said jotting down notes on this.
"What is the meaning of this?" Odalia asks.
"You really thought that stupid thing was a challenge? I was holding back. WAY back." Minato glares.
Swinging his 4 arms, Abomination Junk Destroyer smashes the Abomaton to the ground and rips its arms off much to Odalia's shock.
"No!" Odalia gasps.
"Good thing you didn't offer the floor model for sale." Luz smirks.
"Let that be a warning, mess with me and my friends again and you'll see how dangerous I can really be." Minato said snapping his fingers and his new Abomination disappeared.
"Come on Minato let's get out of here." Blanca said as they made their way out leaving Amity's mother enraged.
Back at the Owl House, we see King wrapped up in blankets as Eda saw with Lilith and Dez as they practiced.
"Okay so, uh, how did you beat that thing again?" Eda asks.
"I don't know, think you can handle the basics?" Dez smirks.
"Yes, I hope they're not too basic." Lilith smirks.
"Just tell me." Eda glares.
"Well, you were right. These glyphs act like basic elements. But, instead of containing magic like we do, they command the magic around them. They're like words. And drawing glyphs on top of each other like you did." Lilith starts.
"Was like screaming three different words at the same time. The spell got confused." Eda realized.
"Yes. The glyph combo, copyright me, Lilith, helps organize the commands." Lilith said.
"And the bending style mixed with Minato's fighting techniques helps release the powers in different ways." Dez said.
"So you two can combine and specify what you want to do." Eda said.
"And with the right combo you can cast about any spell." Dez said.
"Maybe the reason Luz hasn't found any more glyphs is because there... aren't anymore." King realized.
"Then we better start learning some new combinations." Eda said when the door opened revealing Minato, Luz, Katara, Tiger Lily and Blanca.
"Hey guys." Luz said.
"You would not believe the day we've had." Minato said.
"Uncle Dez let's go home. I need something to relax with." Katara said.
"Hey kids we actually learned something new." Eda said.
"Can it wait until morning? We're tried." Blanca said.
"And hungry." Tiger Lily said.
"Wait teachers." Eda said getting their attention. "Do I get extra credit?"
Bending down Lilith pulls out a mini sculpture of Lilith kneeling before the 5 of them in regal robes as they each held a gold star in their hands.
"Oh my gosh." Luz said surprised.
"Whoa." Blanca said amused.
"No one's ever made me a statue before." Katara said amazed.
"I kinda like it." Tiger Lily said.
"I can do it too." Eda slaps a glyph and a small ice ball appeared.
"Big whoop so can I." Dez said slapping one and an ice Monado appeared.
"Okay wow, yeah extra credit for everyone." Minato said passing out gold stars.
"Yes." Dez pumps his fist while Lilith holds hers to her face gratefully.
At the Blight warehouse, Alador was picking up the scraps from his Abomaton.
"Amazing. Such power and creativity. It took me 5 weeks to come up with this and he made a superior version in 5 seconds." Alador said lost in thought as Odalia approached him.
"Well, despite the spectacle, this was quite a successful sale! Excellent job on the 2.0, dear." Odalia said.
"Yes too bad no one will be receiving them." Entering the warehouse, we see Enforcer and two Coven Scouts enter the room forcing them to kneel. "The Emperor wants to buy all your Abomatons and will generously fund your research to make them even stronger."
"Th-That's great news. We're honored to have this opportunity to help the Emperor." Odalia said looking up.
"You should be, and don't let anyone besides us order an Abomaton. The Emperor doesn't need citizens making a private army." Enforcer said.
