Summary:
"Hey, don't worry. I'll hold your hand if you get scared." Santana smirked, popping in the movie and wrapping an arm around the girl's shoulders as she dropped down beside Brittany on the Lopez family's leather couch. Brittany rolled her eyes again with some affection as she snuggled into Santana's side.
Or
Santana's plan to show off her bravery to her sort of girlfriend during movie night with Britt doesn't go quite the way she expects.
A shorter ficlet based on a prompt I received on tumblr: "You're so scared of this horror movie even though you're so tough, come here let me cuddle you"
This one is mostly light fluff and not as detailed as the previous chapters but I wrote this fic a while back and wanted to finally publish it.

It was close to the end of summer before senior year and Brittany wished it would never end because as cool as performing songs in Glee Club and being on Coach Sylvester's cheer squad was, nothing could be better than this new, less inhibited Santana who never left Brittany's side.
Santana had spent so much time in the blonde's bedroom that Brittany had a drawer set aside for all of the Latina's things, they kept Santana's favourite snacks in the cupboard at all times and Pierce Pierce started cracking jokes about having a permanent guest he never knew about. The only one who wasn't too pleased with Santana's near constant presence was Lord Tubbington.
They hadn't exactly made any announcements to them but she was sure even her eccentric parents could tell that something was going on between them.
There was no way they couldn't have figured it out... especially considering there was that one time her parents came home earlier than expected and found Santana on top of their shirtless daughter on the couch. Santana hadn't been able to look them in the eye for an entire week but her parents hadn't brought it up again luckily. Or that other time when her mom carried on an entire conversation with both of them through the bathroom door when they were in the shower together and didn't seem remotely surprised by it either. Santana's bright red face had amused Brittany to no end that time, as much as the blonde herself had been completely embarrassed by Whitney.
It was a lazy, carefree summer that reminded Brittany of the ones she spent as a child. They woke up after ten everyday, re-watched Sweet Valley High, ate chocolate chip pancakes until they were sick and swam around in the backyard pool then dried off by sunbathing.
The only difference between now and when they were little was that they spent a lot more time between the sheets now... and on any other available surface.
The sex was awesome. It was like Santana was an insatiable beast ever since all of the turmoil of the past year and confessions and boys were out of the picture. It was just the two of them, the way it always should have been. It was like Santana wanted to prove something that she wasn't saying with words. Brittany was not complaining, even if it meant making excuses to her parents for why she currently had a huge bite mark on the side of her neck. Judging by the skeptical looks Whitney had thrown her, it was obvious that her mother wasn't buying it.
"Hola, Mi Amor." Brittany answered her phone on the first ring with a flirtatious tone. Santana chuckled at her exaggerated, seductive accent.
"Hi!" Santana started to sound nervous and hesitant then as she continued as if she were inviting her out on a date for the first time. Brittany didn't get it because she was pretty sure they had been dating for months (well, they hadn't exactly confirmed that but Brittany was sure they were because what else would they be doing this whole time?). "My parents are going on their annual trip and I was wondering if you wanted to come over and watch movies tonight? Just the two of us?"
"Of course, San. I'll bring snacks. This'll be awesome."
Movie night almost always meant ignoring whatever movie they had chosen and making out the entire time. That was the best part of it.
Santana laughed a little at her enthusiastic response. "Okay. See you later, Britt-Britt."
Brittany picked the first movie - Shrek II - which Santana groaned a little at but gave in even though Brittany had seen this movie a million times before and could quote every line. It didn't matter anyway because Santana was so distracted by getting to second base with her that she missed three quarters of the film.
Santana picked the next movie and Brittany gasped a little, making a face when the darker girl showed her the DVD. She didn't like horror movies. They were just depressing and gross. She had seen her fair share of them at Tina Cohen-Chang's gothic sleepovers which usually ended with Quinn and/or Mercedes holding up a crucifix and praying by the end of the night.
"C'mon Britt-Britt. You aren't scared, are you?" Santana teased lightly, kissing her on the cheek. "This is nothing."
"Are you sure you wanna watch that?" Brittany stared at her skeptically. "You don't even like horror."
"Everyone at school is freaking out about this movie. They're a bunch of pansy ass idiots I bet it's not even that bad."
"Yeah but I don't like scary movies." Brittany said simply. She didn't see any point in pretending she did.
Santana scoffed. "It's just a dumb movie, Britt. I've seen way worse than this."
Brittany rolled her eyes. She could tell the other girl was trying to show off a little and prove she could handle anything even though there was no need for her to do that.
She knew how Santana was and there was no point arguing with her. Besides, she loved the way Santana was holding her so close. Santana couldn't keep her hands off of Brittany the whole time she had been there and the blonde bit her lip, distracted by the fingers that were skimming over her thigh.
Santana actually paid attention to the movie for once instead of trying to get into her pants, which made Brittany raise her brows in disbelief. Brittany kept her eyes closed most of the time but watched Santana's reactions instead of the movie when she looked up. Santana maintained a stoic expression but Brittany could tell she was actually getting upset because of her body language. She kept chewing on her lip and shifting in her seat. Her face looked a little pale.
There was a scene when a female character screamed as she was being attacked in her apartment and Brittany felt Santana flinch hard next to her, looking away from the screen. This movie was just too much and Santana was looking visibly upset. Eventually Brittany had enough and grabbed the remote, shutting it off. Santana stared at her in confusion, her lips parting.
"Hey, why did you do that?"
"Because you're shaking, San."
"I'm not scared." Santana scoffed.
Brittany pulled the dark-haired girl into a hug with her head resting against the blonde's shoulder, rubbing her back gently.
"Okay." Brittany whispered, not believing her.
Santana allowed herself to be pulled into her embrace, tucking her head into her neck and Brittany could feel her shuddering.
"It's okay to be scared," Brittany told her quietly. "I won't tell anyone. It was really intense."
"She just looked so much like you, Britt!" Santana admitted softly after a long moment had passed, her voice sounding like she was a second away from crying. "The whole time, I kept thinking that I just can't imagine what I would do if someone ever tried to hurt you like that and I wasn't there to protect you... "
She began to sob into Brittany's neck and Brittany just rubbed her back comfortingly, feeling her own eyes fill with tears. Brittany had never met anyone who felt emotions as deeply as Santana did, which was both a blessing and a curse at times. She pulled the darker girl into a tighter hug. She had always felt protected when Santana was with her.
"It's okay. We're safe at home and I'm right here with you."
