"Whoa, Lei!" Duke ran to her. "I'm glad you ain't mad at me, but you don't know what you're sayin'! We'd have to go into, as they say, 'the criminal underworld,' and these animals ain't like you. It ain't safe for someone like you."

Leilani sighed. "Well, I didn't really think this through much, but someone the 'criminal underworld' isn't familiar with could really help crack the case! We could go undercover! Well, I don't know if I can say 'undercover' for you, since you're already, well, part of the underworld, or at least you were. I got my toughest looking clothes for that very reason!"

"Honestly, this actually sounds kinda excitin'! I should probably get my old clothes, unless…you're too embarrassed to be out in public with me with them on."

Leilani shrugged. "Actually, no! I honestly don't care about that anymore."

Duke chuckled. "Well, okay then! Let's go undercover!"

Leilani squealed and clapped. "I didn't know the city would be this exciting!"

In the car, Leilani's phone directed her to The Buzzed Weasel, a bar Duke claimed was often frequented by members of the criminal underworld.

"So, how did this 'Daring Do seeds gig' start in the first place?" Leilani asked as she turned a corner the phone told her to turn.

"Well, I was doin' my bootlegged movies stand, and this ferret comes up to me and says he has a job proposition for me. I ask him what it is, and he says he's too scared to do it because of how big and bad tempered this elephant is. I ask him to spit it out, and he says he'll give me part of his pay, and that he needs me to deliver these seeds to this elephant."

"Huh, that's weird. What else did he say?"

"I asked this ferret guy what they were for, and his eyes shifted around and he said he was operatin' on a need-to-know basis. He handed me the seeds, and I asked him what his name was, and he said that was also on a need-to-know basis. I would've taken the job whether or not I knew his name, since I can't resist money, but I wanted to feel like I could trust him."

A giggle escaped Leilani as she covered her mouth.

"What're you laughin' about?"

"Sorry, it's just kind of funny that you cared so much about trusting someone, since you haven't exactly led a trustworthy life."

"Heh, okay, fair enough. Anyway, the ferret says his name is 'Travis,' I ask him where he got the seeds, he only told me he works at a farm/lab at a secret location…"

Leilani jolted. "Wait! Travis?"

"Uh, yeah?"

"Was he a black-footed ferret, accent?"

"Yeah?"

"I grew up with him! He used to live in Bunnyburrow!"

Duke burst out laughing. "No way! What was he like?"

"Mostly chill, but he was squeamish and he had a bit of a mean streak. Hanging out with Gideon, this fox who was a bully, didn't exactly help things. He became nicer once Gideon's parents put him in therapy after he scratched some bunny girl."

Duke's eyes widened. "Wow. Wait…do you think Travis will recognize you if we find him?"

Leilani gasped. "Oh. Well, if he does, it's not like he'd know what I was doing. I haven't seen him since we were teenagers, and we were always just acquaintances."

"Your destination is on the right," the phone announced.
