30 years prior:

"Don't you worry your pretty little head Komajiro! I brought professionals!"

Komajiro looked over to find his older brother rushing back into the park. It didn't take long for said professionals to arrive on the scene. He had seen them many times before, it was Hailey Anne Thomas and Usapyon, part of the Hapyon detective agency. They went around solving human and yo-kai related problems, with the main focus being yo-kai related problems. They've seen it all, since Hailey does have a Yo-Kai Watch. Nate wasn't the only one with the watch and the ability to see Yo-kai, there were other people out there that had watches, like Tomnyan's roommate Jerry… sort of. Both Hailey and Usapyon arrived on the scene, Tomnyan had left the group not that long ago to tend to something at home, something with the aforementioned roommate. This left the komainu, the human girl, and the space suit wearing otter to tend to the mysterious door that took their friend. "It's right here." Komajiro said, hitting the door with his paw. Hailey used her watch to scan and find the door, she looked at it with a smile on her face. "This could only mean one thing." she said, a finger on her chin. "Darn right young missie." The human girl and the yo-kai looked at each other.

"This is the work of a Yo-kai!"

"This is the work of aliens!"

Usapyon had a drop of sweat roll down the back of his head as he blinked at the human girl. "Say what now?" he asked. "Aliens have finally come to invade earth through magical doors!" Hailey let out a squeal of joy, putting her hands on her cheeks. The Yo-kai present looked at her like she had just lost her mind. "Quit your alien talk young lady, this is serious." Usapyon said, pulling out his Yo-kai pad. It had information about everything in the Yo-kai world. He swiped across the pad to see if there was anything about magical doors, but sadly, there wasn't anything. "Hm, this is a real mystery, Hailey Anne, we need to get to the bottom of this right away." Usapyon said, but Hailey was instead over at the water fountain, getting a drink. "Sorry, what was that?" she asked the space suit wearing Yo-kai, who fell on his face in annoyance. Usapyon always had a temper and a bit of low patience, and it didn't help that the girl with the purple hair always tested his patience, but at the end of the day, they were friends. The otter let out a sigh, "Can you please take this seriously, Nate could be in danger." Usapyon said. "He's been through worse, I'm sure he'll be fine." Hailey said, she was not sitting on the park bench scrolling through her phone. "That's not the point, the point here is Nate could be in trouble with no way of getting back home!" Hailey didn't seem a bit interested, so Usapyon had to pull out the tool, the worst tool in his arsenal.

"It would be a shame if the aliens hailed Nate as their leader instead of you."

That perked Hailey right up. "ALRIGHT! LET'S GET TO FINDING NATE!" she screamed, she started to search around the park frantically. Komasan and Komajiro stared at her, a little bit shocked by the sudden enthusiasm that came from the purple haired girl. "It was the only way to get her to be looking for that kid." Usapyon said, the two country folk nodded as Hailey spent her time searching the park before analyzing the door. "This is some advanced alien technology, I swear I saw something like this on the Sailor Cuties." Hailey said, trying to remember an episode of her favorite anime. "Quit yer anime talk Hailey Anne." Usapyon pulled out his blaster and pointed it at the door, and fired. The laser bounced off the rock and directly towards Katie, who was now just coming back with her dad. "LOOK OUT!" Hailey screamed, pushing the two out of the way and letting the laser zoom right past her. The girl and her father out shocked gasps as Hailey breathed heavily. "BE MORE CAREFUL!" she screamed to the space-suit wearing otter. "HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT IT WOULD BOUNCE OFF LIKE THAT?!" Usapyon screamed. Both the father and the girl with the ponytail looked at Hailey with a confused look. "Uhm… who are you talking to?" Katie asked, looking back at where Hailey was yelling. Hailey felt a small shock flow through her body as she proceeded to strike weird poses which included playfully hitting her head with her fist, waving her hands around, and holding a hand out like she was carrying something. They were rapid poses while drops of sweat flew from the top of her head onto the ground. "Oh nobody! I was just playing pretend with my cute Champy toy!" she said, holding out her Champy keychain. Katie blinked, it was weird. This girl who she had seen before a few times was talking to herself… just like Nate.

"AH! WE FORGOT TO BE ON THE WATCH FOR KATIE!"

Komajiro panicked, waving his arms up and down frantically. "A-anyway, where did Nate go?" Katie asked, looking around. Komajiro began to act even more panicked, Komasan just looked confused while Usapyon was still investigating the door. Komajiro was the only one here who understood the dire situation. What was he to do? He had never inspirited someone before, so maybe he could do that? But as mentioned, he had never done something like that before. Who knew how she would act if he possessed her? "He uhm… got abducted by aliens?" Hailey shrugged, giving out a nervous chuckle. Katie just raised an eyebrow while the man she brought with him investigated the park. "Sweetie… there's nothing here." the man said, Komajiro let out a sigh of relief. "Yeah there is! Right here!" Katie ran towards the door and put her hands on it. Weird, the door felt different, almost like rock. The man waved his hand over where his daughter was pushing against. "It's impressive that you can be a mime Katie, but if you'll excuse me, I have to get back and continue with the barbecue." Katie watched her dad leave. "No wait! There really is something here!" Katie said, knocking on the door. It was making a sound, her father seemed to have heard the sound and turned back with a confused look on his face. "Do that again." he said, Katie knocked on the door again. It made a hard sound, like she was hitting a rock with her hand. "We gotta do something!" Komajiro screamed, Usapyon was fiddling with his blaster. "Okay, got it." he said, pointing it at Katie's father. He held the trigger and blasted the gun at the man, it didn't hurt him, but it did make his posture go a bit higher before he had a cheerful look on his face. "That's a great sound honey! I'll see you for dinner!" he said, jogging off. "Huh? Dad? Wait!" Katie said, going after her father. She stopped as she noticed something on Hailey's wrist. It was a watch, a gold watch to be exact. It didn't look like anything special on the outside, but the inside was what she was interested in. It had the exact same pattern as Nate's watch, she blinked as Hailey just looked at her with curiosity. "You… you okay?" she asked.

"Where did you get your watch?"

"Huh, this watch?" Hailey asked, looking at her wrist and showing it off. "It's my space watch! I got it from Sparkopolis!" Hailey said, showing it off. "Pretty cool right?" Hailey asked, showing off her watch. Katie raised her eyebrow, "Strange, I swear a friend of mine has a watch with a similar pattern." Katie said, she pulled out her phone once more. There was some sort of mystery going on here and it involved this girl and Nate's watches. Whatever it was, Katie was going to get to the bottom of this.

30 years later:

"Run this by me one more time."

"Okay." Summer smiled at the younger version of her father, who was walking from one side of the bench to the other. "You." he stopped and pointed at her, "Are my daughter?" he asked. She nodded, "Summer Adams." she smiled. The boy just nodded and continued to walk from one side of the bench to another. "That right there." the boy pointed to her brother, who was twiddling his thumbs and forcing himself to not look at their younger father. "Is my son?" Tate looked at the boy. "I'm not your son, you are just some kid who happens to be in the same cult as my sister." Tate said, waving his hand as Summer had a drop of sweat in the back of her head. "I get it now." The boy stopped pacing around the bench. He held up his arm to reveal the Yo-Kai Watch. Summer looked at it, it was really cool. The wristband was red and blue and had stars embedded into it. The outside of the watch was gold and had lights circling a glass frame that revealed the inside of the watch. There were two hands that pointed in different directions, with one hand being swirly while the other was straight. The inside was colorful too, having pink, green, blue, and purple on the inside. "This is just some Yo-kai messing with me." The boy used the watch and started to look around the area.

"For once Nate, I am inclined to agree with you on this." Whisper said, floating near his master. Jibanyan hopped off the bench and threw his Chocobar onto the ground, basically littering. "You know it's bad when Whisper of all Yo-kai is agreeing with us." Jibanyan said, Summer looked at the two. "So… different." she said, watching Whisper and Jibanyan. Jibanyan looked somewhat the same, he sounded way younger which made sense. He was also kind of cute like that, Whisper was the one that changed the most. He didn't have hair or clothing and instead had a black bar between his eyes and purple lips. "Wow… nothing. I guess we really did travel in time." Nate said, he didn't sound overall surprised, this has happened to him before, and has happened to Jibanyan before as well. Jibanyan went to the year twenty twenty-three before and Nate and the other two had time traveled to the past to stop The Wicked. "Hey, what year is it anyway?" Nate asked, looking at his daughter. "Twenty Forty-Five!" she said, all three of the members of the past jumped with surprise. "THAT'S THIRTY YEARS!" Nate screamed, Summer just smiled at him. "Don't worry, I'll be here to guide you around." Summer said with a smile. "I mean… There's so much I need to ask. Do we have flying cars yet?" Nate asked, Summer shook her head. "Nothing in the movies happened sadly." Summer chuckled, with Nate pouting. "You should know that, you are from this time period." Tate said, turning away from them and chuckling. "I have my doubts on Summer being Nyate's kid." Jibanyan said, walking up to them. Both the girl and the boy looked down at the red cat. "What do you mean?" Whisper asked, floating over to Jibanyan. "They aren't really alike. While Summer is an average name, she doesn't look average enough. Aside from her having a Yo-Kai Watch, I don't see the resemblance." Jibanyan said, a tick mark appeared on Nate's head. "Don't you dare call my daughter average." Nate pulled out a paper fan from seemingly nowhere and smacked the two of them upside the head.

"What about him?" Summer pulled her brother over, he started squirming out of his sister's grasp. "Yeah, I can see it nyow. The hair resemblance, the eyes, they look alike." Jibanyan and Whisper looked between Tate and Nate. "What's your name there kiddo?" Whisper asked, floating up to Tate. "T-Tate Adams." Tate said, crossing his arms. Both Jibanyan and Whisper looked at Nate, unamused looks on their faces as drops of sweat rolled down their cheeks. "Really Nyate, Tate?" Jibanyan said. "What? I see nothing wrong with this." Nate said, crossing his arms. Whisper was about to say something, but he was stopped as someone approached. Nate and the other two looked at him, he was muscular, that was for sure. He had one big eye with a red pupil and seemed to be wearing some sort of armor. He had what looked like a handprint on his chest and had shoulder pads that had lips on them, the lips also had tongues sticking out. He had black gloves on and a belt with a black eye on it. "Excuse me." he said sheepishly, Summer had a tick mark on the side of her head. "Bout time you got to apologizing. If you killed him I wouldn't have existed." Summer said, crossing her arms. Sly fell to his hands and knees. "Please forgive me princess Summer, I am so sorry." Nate blinked as Sly begged for forgiveness. "Wait… aren't you the monster we just fought? What happened to the… monster form?" Nate asked, looking at Sly with curiosity.

"That was my Shadowside form."

Nate raised an eyebrow and looked back at Whisper. "I'm going to be real with you. I have no idea what that is." Whisper said, he didn't even bother looking at his Yo-kai pad, he was blunt about it. "You… don't have Shadowside forms?" Summer asked, blinking at her younger father. "Nope. Tell me, do these Shadowside forms always turn into super scary monsters?" Nate asked, putting his arms around the back of his head. "We'll take it from here Summer." Bruno stepped into the picture, causing the young boy and his two yo-kai companions to jump back a little bit. "My name is Bruno Arihoshi. It is an honor to be in your presence, legendary Yo-kai master." Bruno said, there were stars in his eyes. "Just… call me Nate." Nate shook Bruno's hand. "There are two forms to Yo-kai, Lightside and Shadowside, Lightside is their normal form while Shadowside is basically a power boost for them to be able to take down much more powerful enemies." Bruno explained. Nate simply looked at Jibanyan. "If you can just turn into a beast at any point, I wouldn't be in half the situations I am in." The cat Yo-kai seemed offended. "I HAVE NYO IDEA WHAT HE'S TALKING ABOUT, NYAN!" Jibanyan screamed, even going as far as to smack his human companion with a paper fan. "Really, if this were true, it would say so on the Yo-kai pad." Whisper said, swiping through his Yo-kai pad. "He… he uses the internet?" Tate butted his head in, he was seemingly ignoring everything up until Whisper busted out his Yo-kai pad. "Kinda… pathetic honestly." Summer said, a drop of sweat rolling down her cheek.

"I ONLY USE IT TO MAKE SURE WHAT I SAY IS CORRECT! I BARELY USE IT!"

"He uses it all the time, he knows nothing about Yo-kai."

As Nate and Whisper got into a heated argument, the future Jibanyan looked at them from his Shadowside form. He crossed his arms with a scoff. "You know something?" he looked at Whisper, who was seemingly watching from afar. The white ghost with purple hair floated up to the tall feline Yo-kai. "Kid is oddly familiar." Jibanyan said, his arms crossed. The future Whisper nodded his head, "I swear I've seen him somewhere before." The ghost said, putting a finger to his chin. "One thing's for certain, I hate copycats." Jibanyan said, going into the stomach band and coming out a tall monster. He walked over to find the small pipsqueak pretending to be him. "Oye, small fry." he said, the tiny red cat looked up and jumped into the air. "NYAAAAAA!" he screamed, jumping into the arms of the boy. The boy looked up and the color drained from his body, even his clothes were white. "I don't take too kindly to copycats." Jibanyan cracked his knuckles. "N-Nyate… can we go home nyow?" the cat asked, crying as he turned to the boy. "Well, this seems to be an upgrade honestly, maybe he can actually destroy a truck now." the marshmallow with purple lips said. "You say something?" he glared at the marshmallow, that seemed to get it scared. "N-no sir." it said, hiding behind the boy. All three of them were on the ground, shaking in fear as their pupils were seemingly gone and their mouths were wide open. "Jibanyan!" Summer said, crossing her arms. "Huh… Jibanyan?" the boy asked, getting a closer look at the large cat. "Well, wasn't it obvious? He has the same fur and stomach band, and his breath reeks of chocolate." The marshmallow said, waving his hand in front of his face.

"Don't scare them! This little guy is basically you!" Summer said, holding up the copycat to Jibanyan. "H-hi sir." the tiny version of him said, he looked weirdly shiny for some reason. "Furthermore, how come you haven't told us you knew our father?" Tate butted into the conversation once again, seemingly more interested in it. "Because I never did." Jibanyan said, crossing his arms and turning to his lightside form, which was much smaller. He put his paws into the front of his stomach band like he had pockets. "Of course you did, this is you from the past." Summer said, placing the smaller Jibanyan down on the ground. "Why am I scary in the future?" the small fry looked at Jibanyan. It… wouldn't be the weirdest thing out there. Jibanyan looked at his supposed younger self, he did transform into this thing when he met up with Amy once again, before switching back to his Shadowside form when they were riding the bike down that hill. "Alright then, but!" Jibanyan raised his paw and pointed to the boy with the red shirt. "Whose this guy?" he asked, the boy seemed taken aback. "You know me! I snuck you Chocobars without mom knowing all those times!" the boy exclaimed. "Don't remember." Jibanyan said. "Maybe he isn't me, I would nyever forget Nyate. He's my best friend, nyan." Small fry piped up. "I'm sure you haven't forgotten me at least, the number one Yo-kai butler." The marshmallow floated up to Jibanyan and put a hand on his chest, or at least he thought it was his chest. It looked to just be a blob, but the number one Yo-kai butler thing… it couldn't be.

"Whisper?"

"You called?"

Nate looked up to find a weird looking version of Whisper. He had purple hair and yellow eyes and was wearing clothing, what appeared to be a black suit. He looked… like an actual butler. "Wow… he actually looks competent now." Nate breathed, looking almost amazed. Whisper looked at him in shock while the future Whisper just gave a chuckle. "Pleasure to make your acquaintance, I, along with most others here, are Yo-kai." Whisper seemingly bowed. "Yeah, I figured." Nate scratched his head. He noticed two other people he hadn't been introduced to, they were off in the corner talking with one another. While Whisper and the future Whisper seemingly had a stare off and Jibanyan and the future Jibanyan were chatting it up, Nate was watching as a boy with dark hair and a girl he had talked to earlier were talking amongst themselves. Summer looked back, "Hey! Come on over and say hi!" she said, waving them down. The two walked over, with the girl smiling at him. "Hi there, Nate, was it? My name is Isabelle." Isabelle said, closing her eyes and giving a wide smile. Nate felt a small blush on his face, Isabelle was pretty, and nice too. The boy simply stared at him, before a warm smile came across his face. "The names Cole, nice to meet you." Cole said, Nate just smiled back. They were an interesting bunch to say the least.

"Just one thing doesn't sit right here."

Whisper floated over to Tate and Summer, a curious look on his face. "If you are really Nate's kids, who did he marry?" Whisper asked, Jibanyan stepped away from his future self to go over to the two supposed children of Nate as well. "Oh, you guys might know her, it's Katie Forester." Summer said. "WHAT!?" both Whisper and Jibanyan screamed, Summer was taken aback, a drop of sweat rolling down the back of her head. "D-did I say something wrong?" Summer said, instead, the past Jibanyan put his hand into his stomach band and pulled out some sort of candy bars and gave them to the past Whisper. "You know I have always wanted to try these out." Whisper opened the wrapper of the candy bar and began to eat the chocolate bar concealed within the wrapper. "Oh great, Nyate's got that face again." Jibanyan said, everyone turned to find the boy with a deep blush on his face, smoke coming out of his nostrils and drool falling from his mouth.

"YES! WOOHOO! I MARRY KATIE!"

Nate proceeded to run around the park cheering everyone around as his two Yo-kai companions let out a long sigh.

A/N: Took a bit longer than I expected, but I did say I'm going to use this whenever I felt like it lol. Not much to say here honestly other than I don't know when the next update is going to be for this story. I got a pretty poor excuse with the fact that I am a fan of the hit indie horror game Five Nights At Freddy's, and with Security Breach's Free DLC dropping on the 25th, I'm def going to be fixated on Fnaf for a bit. However, I still haven't forgotten about Yo-kai Watch and I am super grateful to anyone who reads this, no matter how long it takes for this story to get new chapters and uploads. Knowing that I have people reviewing and excited for me to continue never fails to make me smile. You guys are always first... you guys and Fnaf haha! Next few chapters probably won't be super action heavy, but will expand on the world I am building I suppose. I will say that if you are expecting any sort of romance between Nate and Katie in this, I regret to inform you that your hopes will probably be let down. Simply put, I am a better writer at action, comedy, and above all, horror than romance. Aside from at most (and very unlikely) a kiss on the cheek, don't expect much. I apologize if anyone is let down by this, but I am atrocious at writing any sort of lovey dovey stuff. I'll mainly be focusing on action and comedy for this story with maybe a few hints of horror (if I can help myself haha!) I appreciate everyone who has read up to this point and I hope to get back to you soon with an update.
