One Man's Trash is Another Man's Spirit

It was dark at night, and most people were asleep. But some people were still out and walking around. Just the ordinary stuff here in New Domino City. However, there was one place that was eerily quiet. A junkyard. Just like the one where A certain trio tried to get back a certain duel runner. No one appeared to be around here. No single person in sight.

That is, until two people showed up and entered the place. Two small boys wearing jackets and caps. One of them was holding a flashlight. "Why are we doing this again?" The one without a flashlight asked nervously.

"Hello! So we can find this ghost everyone in school has been talking about. They say that the ghost is lurking around in this junkyard."

"Is there really a ghost here though? What if it's just a prank."

"Nu-huh." The flashlight wielding boy shook his head. "I've heard that one of the girls actually saw that ghost. She said that it's some freakish head with glowing, red eyes."

His friend gulped. "So why are we looking for it in the first place?"

"So we can take a picture of it. Why else did I ask you to bring your camera?"

He looked down and glanced at a camera that was hanging around his neck. "Right."

CLANK!

The boys jumped. "What was that?!" The boy with the flashlight asked in fright, flashing some light on various places.

"Maybe just some piece of junk fell down on the ground?" His friend reasoned.

"HISS!"

"GAH!" They yelped as they turned their flashlight to the direction that sound came from.

"MEOW!" A stray, black cat meowed and hissed at them before running away.

The boy with the camera sighed. "Oh, it was just a cat."

The boy with the flashlight scoffed. "Stupid cat. Well, I guess the ghost isn't here. Maybe we should..." Whatever he was about to say, he didn't get the chance as a red light suddenly flashed right behind them.

"Uh... uh..." The boys tried to say anything but couldn't even make a single sentence. All they were able to do was trembling. They were just frozen in place.

And then, they turned around slowly to see what it was behind them. Little by little, they turned until they came to face with...

Big, glowing, red eyes, and an equally glowing mouth with sharp teeth!

"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!"

"How about this?" Jeremy muttered as he fastened a bolt on a relatively big piece of machinery of some kind. There was a wheel attached on one end of the contraption. As he kept tinkering with it, using his wrench, Cody walked up with some more tools and some other metal pieces. Whatever they were doing, they'd been doing this since early in the morning. And this took place a bit away from the apartment building where Cindy lived.

As this went on, Mimi was sitting on a bench, watching this. And she was now wearing new clothes. She was wearing a white sweater with green stripes and a brown skirt.

"Looks pretty good." Cody said, putting his stuff down. "Maybe some adjusting there?" He pointed at a area near the wheel.

Jeremy glanced at it. "Good call. Screwdriver." Cody handed him a screwdriver, allowing him to tighten a screw there.

"What are you building?" Mimi asked curiously.

Cody turned to face her. "A duel runner."

Mimi tilted her head. "What's a duel runner?"

Cody blinked before answering. "Well... it's kind of like a motorbike. Except that it's mainly used for people who face each other in turbo duels. Instead of standing on the ground while dueling each other, turbo duelists face off while driving their duel runners."

Mimi frowned. "Isn't that dangerous?"

"Well, more or less." They turned and saw Cindy arriving. "But that's why turbo duelists are trained how to drive. And of course, those duel runners have special systems that make things a little easier, like the Speed World field spell function, for instance."

"Hmmm." Mimi tilted her head again.

"So..." Cindy turned to the boys. "How's your new runner going?"

"So-so." Cody replied. "We managed to gather a few parts for it, but this will take a while."

"Speaking of parts..." Jeremy spoke up and put his screwdriver down. "I'd better head to one of the junkyards and get some more."

"Do you need a ride?" Cindy offered.

Jeremy smiled and shook his head. "No thanks. I'll be fine on my own."

"Are you sure?" Cody asked, concerned.

"Don't worry, nothing will happen. For real this time." Jeremy put his hood on and walked away.

"I hope you're right?" Cindy muttered to herself, watching him leave.

"Do you think he's going to be okay?" Mimi asked worriedly.

"Don't worry." Cody assured her. "He's just going to get some parts. He'll be fine." He then continued working on the would-be duel runner.

"Okay." Mimi nodded.

"I'm telling you, Luna. It's gotta be real!"

"No, it's not."

In another part of the city, two kids were arguing with each other while walking around. And those kids were none other than Leo and Luna.

"Of course it's real!" Leo insisted. "There's supposed to be a ghost haunting one of the junkyards. That's what those rumors say."

"That's just it!" Luna replied, rather annoyed. "They're rumors. So there's no way there's a ghost here."

"And that's coming from the girl who can speak with card spirits!" Leo countered.

"Card spirits are one thing. But a ghost lurking in a junkyard is another. And if that ghost happened to be a card spirit, then I might have sensed it. But I don't. I'll say it again, there is no ghost lurking there."

"Yes there is!" Leo replied stubbornly.

"There is not!"

"There is too!"

"No!"

"Yes!

"No!"

"Yes!"

"Noooo!"

"Yeeesss!"

The twins glared at each other before huffing and turned their heads away from each other.

"Why do I even bother? You're just denying it cuz you're scared." Leo insulted.

"Well, I don't see you trying to investigate any junkyards." Luna countered.

"Fine! I'll do it. I'm gonna check the junkyards! Right now!" And with that, Leo ran off.

"Leo!" Luna called out. She then sighed. "Oh! He's such an idiot. Leo, wait up!" She ran after him.

Meanwhile, Jeremy had just arrived at one of the city's junkyards. It was kind of like the one where he, Cody and Cindy tried to get Cody's runner back. "Well, this looks promising." He commented, eyeing on the place. He then rubbed his hands together. "Now let's see what we can find here." He started to look around.

For the next 30 minutes, he explored the junkyard. And he certainly found some parts as he went through the piles of junk...

"Ah! A thruster!" He said, pulling it out of one pile.

"Oh! This is what we need for the holo display!" He picked up a part that looked it belonged to a screen or something.

"And this looks to be in good shape." He kneeled down and picked up an undamaged circuit board.

"This is what makes junkyards interesting." Jeremy said with a satisfied look on his face, holding a sack that was filled with parts. "Sometimes they have some things one might need. Sometimes they have plenty of parts. Now, where can I get some more parts?"

As he walked around, there was a nearby junk pile that started to shake for some reason. And then, there was something that oozed out of the bottom. It looked like... dark energy.

"Hm?" Jeremy and turned to the junk pile. By the time his landed on it, the dark energy was gone. "What's this?" He walked up to it and and saw an old throttle sticking out. "Hey! This looks good!" He grabbed it with one hand and pulled it. However, it was stuck. "Huh?" He then it with both hands tried to pull harder. "Nnnggghh! Haaaa! Come on, get out!" He then took a breath and then heaved again, pulling all his might. "Haaa!" At that... the throttle finally came loose. Jeremy then sighed. "Well, that's that. Time to-Whoa!"

CLANK! CLINK! WHAM!

Jeremy had to jump back as the junk pile suddenly collapsed, avoiding some pieces of metal that fell down. Moments later, the place was covered by junk. He stared at the mess, blinking twice before speaking up. "Oops. Guess I messed up there. Oh well, no one will probably care. Guess I'd better get moving." He then turned around and walked away.

"Grrrrr...!"

"Huh?" Only to hear some mysterious growling. It sounded like it belonged to something... unnatural. "What was that?" He turned back to the mess to junk and was surprised to see dark energy oozing out of the ground. "What the...?"

He couldn't finish as the energy erupted like water from a geyser.

"What?! What is this!?" Jeremy exclaimed.

And not too long after he asked that, something emerged from the pillar of dark energy. Jeremy could only stand there in place as whatever it was revealed itself slowly. However, the pillar of dark energy suddenly faded, making the mysterious thing appear clearly in seconds. It was... a hazy, floating head of shadows with big, glowing red eyes and a glowing mouth with sharp.

Jeremy was stunned. "Uh... Uh..."

"RAAAAAAAGHHH!" The creature roared loudly.

"AAAAAAAHHHH!" Jeremy screamed.

Moments earlier

"Leo, wait up!" Luna called out while chasing after her brother who's been running for a while. "Leo, stop running!"

"No way! I'm gonna find that ghost! Just watch me!" Leo said as he was about to enter the junkyard he just found.

"I said STOP!" Luna said fiercely as she managed to grab Leo on his jacket and pulled him, forcing him to a halt.

"Hey! What's the problem?!" Leo asked angrily.

"You mean other than your stupidity?" Luna replied in a scolding tone. "You can't just run off like that just because you want to find a ghost that might not exist."

"Like I said, you're just scared. If you want to ignore that, than you can go home! I'm gonna catch that..."

"RAAAAAAAGHHH!"

The twins jumped upon hearing that roar.

"What was that?" Luna asked in a worried tone.

"That must be the ghost!" Leo deduced.

"AAAAAAAHHHH!"

The twins gasped upon hearing that scream.

"And it's attacking someone!" Leo ran in.

"No! Leo!" Luna called and chased after him. "Leo, don't go in there! Leo!"

Moments later, Luna caught up with Leo, who just stopped running. "Leo?"

Her brother didn't respond. He looked like he was frozen in place.

"Leo?" Luna repeated, but no answer. She then followed his gaze... "Ah!" And then gasped as she saw a floating head of shadows approaching a person who seemed to have tripped. Since he wasn't wearing his hood, she could see who it was. "Jeremy!"

He turned his head and saw the twins. "Leo?! Luna?! Run! You have to get out of here! Now!"

The shadow head turned and noticed the twins, who tensed up by its glowing glare. "RAAAAAAGHHH!" It then dashed toward them.

"Look out!" Leo tackled Luna, getting both out of the way as the ghost missed its target. "Are you okay, Luna?"

She nodded slightly. "Y-yeah. I'm fine. Huh?" She then noticed a trace of dark energy coming out from the back of the ghost's head. She followed the trace all the way to the spot where the ghost was a moment ago. And it was then she noticed the trace reached something on the ground... a Duel Monster card. 'A card. Then that means...' She got up and ran.

"Luna, where are you going?" Leo called out.

But Luna ignored him as she rushed over to the end of the energy trace. She then kneeled down and picked up the card. She expected to see to the image of the card, but frowned when she saw that the front was covered in darkness. "Just what is this card?"

"Grrrr!"

She turned around to see the ghost growling at her. And then... "RAAAAAAAGHHH!"

"Ah!" Luna yelped as more dark energy erupted from the card, causing her to drop it. And then, the energy started to swirl around like a whirlwind.

"What the hell is happening?!" Jeremy questioned.

"Luna!" Leo called out.

The whirling energy got thicker and thicker, covering Luna. "Help!" She cried out as the energy got so thick that she could no longer be seen. Eventually, the whirling energy formed a dome of some kind. And then, the boys watched as the ghost entered the dome.

"Get back here, you freaky head!" Leo yelled and ran after it, intending to enter as well... "Gah!" Only to cry out as the dome crackled with electricity and pushed him back.

"Leo!" Jeremy rushed over the little boy. "You okay."

Leo groaned as he shook his head a bit from the shock. "Yeah, I think so. But I can't get in there."

Jeremy approached the dome slowly. He then placed a finger on it... "Ow!" Which gave him a small shock. "Damn, it looks like no one can get inside."

That just made Leo worried. "But, if we can't get in there, then what's gonna happen to Luna?!"

"Ngh..." Luna groaned as she stirred before opening her eyes. "Where... where am I?" She looked around, and noted that she wasn't in the junkyard anymore. The place appeared to be some kind of a void of darkness. "What is this place?"

"Grrrrrr!"

"Ah!" She gasped and turned around to come face to face with the floating head of shadows. It was growling threateningly. "Wh-what do you want?"

"...Revenge..." It said with a dark, monstrous voice.

"Huh?" Luna's eyes widened.

"Must... have... revenge!" And then, something rose up in front of the monstrosity. Moments later, Luna could see clearly what it was...

Five big dueling cards.

"Cards?" Luna gave the ghost a disbelieved look. "You mean... you want to duel? But... I..." As she hesitated, the deck inside her deck holder started to glow. "Huh?" She pulled it out and looked at it curiously. "What is this?"

"... Luna..." A soft female voice was heard.

"What?! Who's there?" Luna asked frantically, startled by the new voice.

"You must fight the darkness." The voice said. "Free the poor spirit from the darkness..."

That was all Luna could hear before it went silent. "Free the spirit... from the darkness?" She then turned to the spirit that was still growling at her. "So this spirit is suffering?" She then eyed on her glowing deck. After staring at it for a moment, she gave the spirit a determined look. "Don't worry, spirit. I'll save you!" And then, by instinct she put her deck in air in front of her, allowing it float in midair for reasons unknown. After that, she drew 5 cards. "Now let's duel!"

Luna: 4000

Spirit: 4000

The spirit growled as a sixth card appeared in front of it. The card then turned around and released a big tree with a monstrous face and many roots that spread out widely. And what made this monster more terrifying was its branches, each having a red flower with a mouth and sharp fangs. (ATK: 1700 DEF: 1000 LV: 4)

Luna's eyes widened. "That's a Vampire Orchis! I've heard that its ability lets one summon a monster called Des Dendle."

As soon as she said that, the spirit revealed another one of its cards. It vanished instantly, much to her confusion. But she was then surprised to see some moss covering the roots of the tree, from which a bunch of small, glowing blue flowers with purple stalks sprouted.

"And it looks like it's a union monster." She noted.

"Turn... end..." The spirit said slowly.

"Okay, I draw!" Luna drew her sixth card and looked over her hand. She frowned. 'None of these monsters can defeat Vampire Orchis. I need to put up some defense.' She held up one of her cards. "I summon Spirit of the Breeze in defense mode!" A green-skinned fairy girl with long blue hair and wearing a yellow dress appeared and kneeled down in front of her. (ATK: 0 DEF: 1800 LV: 4) "Then I'll place one card facedown and end my turn." A card appeared behind the fairy.

A new card appeared in front of the spirit and it turned around instantly. It was a spell card.

Luna gasped. "That looks like Invigoration! That card makes an earth attribute monster stronger!"

The monstrous tree growled as a yellow energy emerged from the spell and entered its body. (ATK: 1700-2100 DEF: 1000-800) And then, it lashed out with its fanged flowers.

Luna yelped in fear. "I activate my trap card! Wall of Revealing Light!" Her facedown card flipped up. And then, a wall of bright light erupted, getting between her fairy and the monster flowers. "I order to activate this card, I must pay any multiple of 1000 life points. And I choose to give 3000 of my life points."

Luna: 4000-1000

"And from now on, you won't be able to attack with any monster, unless it has more attack points than the amount of life points I paid for my trap card."

The spirit growled. "Turn... end..."

"Alright then..." Luna drew her next card and looked at it. She smiled a bit before revealing it. "I summon Dancing Fairy in defense mode!" A trio of smaller fairies appeared. They were wearing matching, bluish dresses and different hair styles. One of them had long, brown hair. Another one had short, red hair. The third one's hair was in a lighter red color, and tied into a braid. (ATK: 1700 DEF: 1000 LV: 4) "Then I'll switch Spirit of the Breeze into attack mode." The named fairy stood up. "I end my turn."

Meanwhile, Leo and Jeremy were just standing outside the dark dome.

"Luna! Can you hear me?" Leo shouted. "Luna!"

"I don't think she can hear us." Jeremy said.

"But... what should we do?"

Jeremy lowered his head. "I... I don't know."

Leo gritted his teeth turned to the dome with a worried look. "Luna..."

The spirit growled as a new card appeared in front of it. And then it revealed one of its other cards. Another spell card.

"Double Summon." Luna noted. "That lets it summon twice this turn."

"Nightmare... Scorpion..." One of spirit's cards turned around and released a big, red scorpion with four poisonous tails. (ATK: 900 DEF: 800 LV: 3) And then, another card turned around... only to disappear. However, something came out from the shadowy ground. It was some kind of yellow flower that with some kind of antenna-like device sticking out. (ATK: 0 DEF: 1600 LV: 3)

Luna gasped again. "That's an Anti-Aircraft Flower! That monster can deal 800 points of damage by sacrificing an insect type monster!"

And just as she feared, the scorpion turned into red energy that was absorbed into the flower. And then, the laser charged up and fired a red beam of energy, which broke through the wall of light.

"Ah!" Luna cried out as she got and fell backwards.

Luna: 1000-0200

After that, one of spirit's giant cards moved to the field in a facedown position. "Turn... end..." It concluded.

"A-alright..." Luna muttered and managed to get back on her feet. "My turn..." She drew. And at that moment, the four fairies approached her and hugged her, allowing a blue aura with a comforting warmth surround them all, making Luna sigh with a smile. "Thanks for that. With Spirit of the Breeze in attack mode, I regain 1000 life points during my standby phase. And the same thing goes for Dancing Fairy, as long as they remain on the field in defense mode."

Luna: 0200-2200

"Then I activate the spell card, Healing Wind!" Luna held up one of her cards, causing a faint whirlwind surround her, along with a new blue aura. "This card gives me 200 more life points for every monster on the field. So with 4 monsters on the field, I gain 800 points."

Luna: 2200-3000

"And now I release Spirit of the Breeze in order to advance summon Fairy King Truesdale!" The green fairy's body turned into a rainbow colored portal, from which a young man robes emerged. He had short, brown hair and pointy ears, wielding a wooden staff. (ATK: 2200 DEF: 1500 LV: 6) "Next I'll switch Dancing Fairy to attack mode!" The trio of fairies took flight. "Now attack that Anti-Aircraft Flower!" The fairies circled around the flower, spraying it with sparkling dust. Moments later, it exploded. "And now, Fairy King Truesdale! Attack Vampire Orchis!" The young man pointed his staff to the monstrous and conjured a green energy ball. He then fired it away, and it exploded when it hit the tree.

Spirit: 4000-3900

Luna waited for the smoke to clear. When it did, she was surprised to see the tree was unharmed. Except that the moss and flowers on its roots burned off. "Oh right. Since Des Dendle is a union monster, it protected Vampire Orchis from destruction. I end my turn."

A new card appeared in front of the spirit. And then, its facedown flipped up. "Trap card... Roll Out..." And then, the monster tree was surrounded by a purple aura. And to Luna's shock, moss was forming on its roots again. After that, glowing blue flowers sprouted from it.

"So that trap card brought its union monster back." She then noticed one of the spirits other cards morph into some kind of green pot with a grinning face. "Pot of Greed."

Two extra cards appeared in front of the spirit. And one of them turned around, revealing itself as a spell card. "Vile Germs..." The spirit said as the spell card took its position right behind the tree. And then, purple oozed out of the spell card and entered the tree's body. (ATK: 2100-2400 DEF: 800-1100) After that, another card was revealed. Another spell card. "Mystical Space Typhoon..."

"Oh no! That destroys one spell or trap card on the field!" Luna realized. The spell card released a whirlwind that blew her Wall of Revealing Light card away, causing the the wall of light to vanish.

"Destroy...!" The spirit uttered as the monster tree unleashed its branches that grabbed the three fairies. The cried out as they were crushed and shattered into pixels.

Luna: 3000-2300

"My Dancing Fairy!" Luna said, upset. "Huh?" She then noticed a small plant sprouting on the spirit's field. It was identical to the flowers on the tree. (ATK: 800 DEF: 800 LV: 1)

"Wicked Plant Token..." The spirit muttered.

'That monster must have been created by Des Dendle when Vampire Orchis destroyed my monster.' Luna thought.

"Sacrifice... Token..." The wicked plant vanished. "Gigaplant..." And with a roar, new creature rose up right next to Vampire Orchis. It looked like an immense tree with a head that looked like a red Venus flytrap with six blue eyes. There were some scythed blades all over its body and its shoulders were covered in thick moss. (ATK: 2400 DEF: 1200 LV: 6)

Luna took a step back, frightened by its appearance.

"Turn... end..." The spirit concluded.

"Okay, my turn." Luna drew her next card and looked at it. "I activate Swords of Revealing Light!" Three big swords of light appeared and surrounded the spirit's monsters. "This spell card keeps you from attacking for three turns. I end my turn."

Another card appeared in front of the spirit. It then spoke up. "Gigaplant... gemini summon..." Gigaplant glowed white.

Luna gasped. "Gemini summon? So that monster is a Gemini monster!"

"Anti-Aircraft Flower..." The spirit muttered. "...resurrect..." Gigaplant growled as the familiar yellow sprouted right next to it. (ATK: 0 DEF: 1600 LV: 3) "Turn... end..." At that, one of the three swords vanished.

"If that spirit summons another insect type monster, it will use that flower's effect." Luna muttered and drew her next card. "Fairy King Truesdale, attack that flower!" The fairy king conjured another energy ball and hurled it at the yellow flower, destroying. "Then I activate the spell card, Monster Reincarnation! By discarding one card from my hand, I can take a monster back from my graveyard." Luna held up a card, allowing it to vanish and being replaced by another card. "So now I summon Dancing Fairy again!" The trio of fairies appeared again, turning completely blue. (ATK: 1700 DEF: 1000 LV: 4) "I end my turn."

A new card appeared in front of the spirit. "Anti-Aircraft Flower... resurrect..." The yellow flower appeared again. (ATK: 0 DEF: 1600 LV: 3) "Nightmare... Scorpion..."

Luna frowned as the red scorpion with four tails appeared again. (ATK: 900 DEF: 800 LV: 3) "Another one?"

And just like before, the scorpion turned into energy that powered the flower, allowing it to shoot Luna with another laser beam.

"Ah!" She was knocked over again by the blast.

Luna: 2300-1500

"Turn... end..." The spirit concluded as another sword of light vanished.

Luna recovered and stood up. "My turn!" She drew. "And thanks to Dancing Fairy, I regain another 1000 life points." The three fairies danced in a circle above her as she was briefly surrounded by a blue aura.

Luna: 1500-2500

She looked at her new card and smiled. "This will do! I release Dancing Fairy and Fairy King Truesdale in order to advance summon Guardian Angel Joan!" Her two monsters formed another rainbow colored portal, from which an angel emerged. She had short, orange hair and was wearing a pure white dress. (ATK: 2800 DEF: 2000 LV: 7) "Now attack Gigaplant!" The angel held out her palms and fired a beam of light that easily destroyed the giant plant.

Spirit: 3900-3500

"And now, Joan's ability activates!" Luna continued. "Every time she destroys a monster in battle, I regain life points equal to that monster's original attack points." A golden aura surrounded her briefly.

Luna: 2500-4900

"I place two cards facedown and end my turn." Two cards appeared near her feet.

The spirit growled as new card appeared in front of it. "Dark World Shackles..." One of its cards was revealed. And a metal ball with a fiendish face and shackles emerged. And then, the shackles attached themselves to Joan's wrists and pulled her down to the ground.

"Joan!" Luna exclaimed before gasping as the angel groaned with a red aura surrounding her. (ATK: 2800-100 DEF: 2000-100) "Oh no!"

"Turn... end..." The spirit concluded as the final sword of light vanished.

"My turn!" Luna drew. "And I activate my trap card! Fairy Wind!" One of her facedown cards flipped up. "This allows me to destroy all face-up spell and trap cards on the field! And for each card destroyed, we both take 400 points." A powerful whirlwind surrounded the field. And then, each face-up spell card shattered into pixels, starting with Dark World Shackles, freeing Joan from its grip. (ATK: 100-2800 DEF: 100-2000) And then, all three cards equipped to Vampire Orchis, including Des Dendle, causing its moss and flowers to vanish. (ATK: 2400-1700 DEF: 1100-1000)

Luna: 4900-3300

Spirit: 3500-1900

"And now..." Luna gave the spirit a soft look. "Time time set you free. Guardian Angel Joan, attack Vampire Orchis!" The angel fired another beam of light, destroying the tree completely. The spirit growled, annoyed by the bright light.

Spirit: 1900-0800

"And once again, Joan's effect activates, which will give me extra life points. But before that happens, I activate the trap card, Oberon's Prank!" Her facedown card flipped up. "I can only activate this card when an effect that would give extra life points activates. It allows me to negate that effect, and both of us take those extra life points as damage instead!"

And with that, a bright light erupted from the trap card, swallowing the entire field. Luna covered her eyes with her arms, while the spirit roared in agony.

Luna: 3300-1600

Spirit: 0800-0000

Eventually, Luna opened her eyes... "Huh?" And realized she was no longer in that dark void. She found herself in a space full of light in every direction. "Whoa. What is place?" She wondered, glancing around.

"Spore!" A high pitched voice spoke up.

When Luna took a look in front her, she found a creature that looked very different from the dark spirit she dueled moments ago. It was a cute, white, fluffy ball with green eyes. "Are you... the angry spirit from before?"

"Spore, spore." The fluff ball replied.

Luna approached it slowly. "So what happened? Why did you go berserk like that?"

A sad look formed on its face. Luna frowned as she reached her hand out. As soon as it touched the top of its head, she gasped as her eyes flashed. And then, vision appeared before her.

She saw some random guy holding the card of the fluff ball, muttering some bad words. And then he dumped the card in the junkyard. The card was lying on the ground for an unknown amount of time until some junk fell over it, burying it there.

As the time passed, the spirit was crying day after day, night after night.

Eventually, the sadness was replaced with rage. And then, its small body emitted dark energy, while it turned darker and more shadow-like.

Snapping out of the trance, Luna gave the spirit a sympathetic look. "So, you were abandoned by your former owner. And you've been stuck here for a long time."

"Spore." The duel spirit looked down, still sad.

Luna just couldn't stand it. The first thing she did was wrap her arms around the poor thing, giving it a hug. "It's okay. You don't have to be sad anymore. You won't be alone anymore."

"You did well, Luna." The mysterious female voice spoke up, startling her. "This poor spirit was corrupted by the darkness that was formed by its sadness and anger. But thanks to you, it's free."

"That voice again!" Luna said, looking around, hoping to find its source. "Who are you? Where are you?"

"...We shall meet again..." The whole place became brighter.

"Wait!"

"Whoa! What the...!" Leo exclaimed as the dark dome started to shift in a very bizarre way.

"What's happening now?" Jeremy questioned.

For another moment, the boys witnessed the shifting of the dome, before it suddenly faded. Once it was gone, the first thing they saw was Luna down on her knees, her eyes seemingly closed.

"Luna!" Leo rushed over to her. "Luna, are you okay?"

She didn't respond immediately. But after a moment she opened her eyes and looked, facing her brother with a smile. "Hi Leo."

Leo smiled in relief. "Oh man, I was so worried."

Jeremy walked up to them. "What happened in there? The last thing we saw was that thing trapping you in a weird dark dome."

"Oh yeah! The ghost!" Leo remembered. "So what happened to it. Where did that ghost go?"

Luna got up on her feet and put her hands behind her back. She simply smiled and began to walk away. "I helped it to move on."

"Huh?" Leo blinked, giving her a weird look. "No, seriously!" He ran after her. "What did you do? Did you capture it? Come on, Luna! Tell me!"

Jeremy simply scratched the back of his head. "I don't know what's going on anymore."

Later on, Jeremy was walking with his sack in hand. After a while, he showed up in front of Cody and Mimi.

"Hey, Jeremy. I was starting to wonder where you went."

"Sorry about that. There was plenty of stuff in the junkyard." He put the sack on the ground. "And I sure found lots of things we can use.

Cody smiled. "Well, that's good." He brought up his wrench. "So, shall we?"

"Sure thing."

"Awwww! That's not fair!" Leo whined, flailing with his fists. "I wanted to take that ghost down! That's not fair!"

Luna was walking right behind, giggling a bit. She then held up a Duel Monster card with the image of the fluff ball she met. A level 1 monster with 400 attack points and 800 defense points.

Well, I seriously had trouble figure what to write in this chapter. I even have to search on Google to find some cards that would be fitting for Luna's deck. I just hope this chapter was worth the wait. So now there are three new GX chapters for me to work on.

Until then, I wish you all a Merry Christmas.
