Washington, D.C.
"We are proud to present you, General Lane, with this Medal of Honor!"
The audience clapped.
Wonder Woman carefully picked up the medal and placed it around General Lane's neck. He smiled and shook her hand.
"Thank you, Wonder Woman," he said as he stepped up to the potium. "What an honor this is, indeed. I would like to thank my daughters, Lois and Lucy for their support. My late wife...she was a beautiful soul. I shall dedicate this achievement to her."
As General Lane was giving his speech, Wonder Woman rolled her eyes and folded her arms. Colonel Steve Trevor glanced over to her.
"Diana, don't do that. Can you at least act like you are enjoying this ceremony?"
"No."
"Diana, please."
She sighed and unfolded her arms. "Better?" she asked rhetorically.
"Thank you."
"Beautiful shot, Wonder Woman," Jimmy Olsen complimented as he snapped her picture.
"See? Everyone is watching. We don't need anything taken out of context."
"Me not enjoying myself is very much in context."
Wonder Woman eased her way off stage, heading to the refreshment table.
"Excuse me, Wonder Woman?"
She looked up to see a tall, dashing man, smiling adjusting his glasses. He then held out his hand. "Hi. My name is Clark Kent. I'm a reporter for the Daily Planet and I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions for a write up."
"Hello, Clark Kent." She took his hand to shake. "I've read a few of your articles. Very insightful, articulate and intriguing. I would gladly answer your questions."
He smiled. "Thank you but I must say that you are very beautiful."
"I'm not in a dress which seems appropriate for this ceromony. This is my battle attire. But thank you."
"You are still beautiful, no matter what you are wearing," he said as he flashed his charming smile.
Diana's heart immediately fluttered.
Steve glanced up to see Diana seemingly flirting. He frowned slightly not liking how Diana was blushing and smiling with a man he did not recognize. He clears his throat and walked over to them. He lightly touched Diana's back and smiled.
"Who's your new friend?" He asked Diana.
"Colonel Trevor, hello. My name is Clark Kent. Reporter for the Daily Planet. I was just asking Wonder Woman a few questions for a write up."
"I see...All questions should be to me for Wonder Woman's best interests."
Diana frowned. "What? The questions are to me. I can answer for myself."
"Excuse us, Kent."
Steve grabbed Diana's arm pulling her to step away. She looked down with an arched brow trying to keep her composure.
"Let me go, Steve."
"Diana, don't make a scene." He looks at her with pitiful puppy eyes. "Diana, look, I'm just trying to protect you."
"I don't need protecting."
"From all of these people, yes you do. I'm the only one that can. Reporters can't be trusted and anything you say can be taken out of context. You need to be careful."
"I'm not stupid, Steve. There is nothing I could or even would say that would tarnish your image or reputation if that's what you are worried about."
"I'm worried about you."
"You don't need to be."
"Just don't talk to anymore reporters unless I'm with you."
"I can talk to who ever I want. Clark Kent is very kind and I would like to speak with him."
"You don't know that for sure. He can just be playing the kindness card to get the information he wants."
Diana looked back at Clark. He was looking down writing on his notepad, glanced up observing the crowd then looked down to write again.
"He is different."
"What?"
Diana looked at Steve. "I said he is different."
Steve sighed. "Come on. We need to take pictures."
Clark looked up from his glasses watching Wonder Woman and Steve back to General Lane and other associates for pictures. He had an uneasy look not liking the exchange between Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor at all.
A few moments later, Wonder Woman was called on an emergency.
"Wonder Woman? Come in Wonder Woman. This is Cyborg."
Diana stepped away. "I'm on my way."
Before leaving, she looked for Clark Kent but he was already gone. She sighed and left without telling Steve.
Metropolis Museum
Cheetah ran out the front of the building with a duffle bag. "I got the scrolls. I'm on my way."
"Now put them back!" Wonder Woman warned wrapping her lasso around Cheetah and yanking her back.
"Well...umph! Good evening, Amazon."
"It won't be a good evening for you."
Cheetah smirked and dropped the bag of scrolls. She jumped up and flipped backwards bringing Wonder Woman to stumble forward. She was able to loosen the lasso.
"I really don't want to fight you."
"I don't want to fight you either. I would love to just kill you to get this over with!"
Cheetah broke out the lasso and dashed toward Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman blocked her attacked and kicked Cheetah.
"Oh, Princess, did I struck a nerve? I've never seen you so tense."
Diana charged at her and punched her, knocking her out with that one punch.
"Wonder Woman?"
She turned around to see Superman and Flash.
"Well that was the fastest ass kicking I've ever seen. I'm not even able to do that."
"Flash, take the scrolls to the officers."
"On it, Big Blue."
Superman walked up to Wonder Woman with a worried look on his face.
"Wonder Woman, what's wrong?"
"Nothing."
He knew exactly what was wrong but couldn't say anything else. Wonder Woman didn't know he was Clark Kent.
He lightly touched her arm. "Whatever it is, it will be okay. When you need to talk...if you need anyone to talk to, you can talk to me."
Wonder Woman looked up at him, suddenly lighting up. "Thank you."
When he smiled at her, it was like she was looking at Clark Kent with that same charming smile. She has had thoughts come and go about Superman ever since she met him. He was so handsome and generous. Admittedly, she was indeed attracted to him.
"Wonder Woman?"
"Oh...yes, Superman?"
"You spaced out for a moment. You sure you are okay? Did you want me to take you to the Tower?"
Diana shook her head slightly and smiled. "No I'm just going to go home and get some rest."
"Well go ahead. We got the rest of this."
"Thank you, Superman."
She smiled and waved. Superman watched her as she flew off.
When Wonder Woman arrived to her London condominium, she sighed wishing she knew where Clark Kent had gone. She didn't want to go to the Daily Planet, causing any kind of interruption or questioning of Clark. Maybe she would get a chance to see him simply casually walking the street. Diana smiled and slightly laughed at herself for thinking so much of him.
She looked at her phone and saw she had 13 missed calls and 5 voicemails from Steve.
She rolled her eyes.
"Diana, call me back as soon as you get my messages. We need to talk. I'm sorry about tonight. I'll make it up to you."
Diana really couldn't be bothered with Steve's half assed apology. She took a nice hot shower and got in bed to get some sleep. For some reason she couldn't stop thinking about Clark Kent nor Superman, it was just something about them that interested her.
The next day, Metropolis
"Lois Lane, reporting outside Metropolis central bank. There seems to be a hostage situation. We do not know as of how many innocent lives are at risk but we know there are 4 armed robbers."
Suddenly a loud crashing sound came from the back of the building. The robbers were running out to an alley.
"Jimmy! Let's go!"
Lois and Jimmy ran following them but they ended up at a dead end. The robbers came behind them pointing their guns.
"Bad move, lady."
All of a sudden there was a gust of wind.
"Huh?!" The robbers questioned noticing their guns were out of their hands.
"I honestly don't think it's that serious, guys." Superman melted their guns with his heat vision.
"Shit! It's Superman!"
"Hands up, now!" An officer said running up behind them.
"Thanks, Superman."
"No problem, Officer McDowell."
As the officers cuffed and hauled off the robbers, Superman flew down to Lois and Jimmy.
"Are you two okay?"
"Yeah, you saved us yet again," Jimmy said.
"Sorry, if we are causing you an extra hassle, Superman, but we have a job to do as well. We take risk trusting that you will help us." Lois smiled flirtatiously and batted her eyes.
"Well...uh...Thank you, Ms. Lane for trusting me. But you still have to be cautious."
"Superman, I'm a tough girl. We probably could've handled them."
"You did your best." Superman flew back up a bit. "Well I'm off. I'm needed somewhere else."
"Do you always have to do that?" Jimmy asked.
"Do what?" Lois asked back.
"Flirt with Superman? Remember, you are engaged to Johnnie."
"Oh Jimmy, relax, it's harmless. Superman has a crush on me so I play along."
"He is the one with the crush?"
Lois frowned and hit him in his arm. "Shut it, Olsen and let's get back to the office."
Clark Kent was sitting at his desk, typing up an article when Lois and Jimmy walked out the elevator.
"I knew you would be at this computer, Smallville. You missed the show. Since you got your interview with Wonder Woman last night, I got mine with Superman. Let's see which one Perry wants to put front page."
Clark sighed. "I don't care. You can have it."
Lois frowned taken aback by his response. "What bit you in the ass?"
He was thinking about Wonder Woman and how Steve was talking to her and treating her wasn't sitting well like he thought.
"Geez, Smallville, you need a girlfriend and get out more. Stop acting like a loner, people will think you are a creep or something."
"Thanks for the unsolicited advice, Lois."
Lois rolled her eyes. "Whatever." She walked away to find Perry.
Clark sighed and sat back in his chair. He remembered the first time he stepped into the Daily Planet and meeting everyone, he admits to having a slight crush of his own on Lois. She was a sophisticated woman basically running everyone in the office. But she talked down to Clark and others too, ignored him at times. She was a good friend, sometimes, but that attitude of hers wasn't something he wanted to deal with and was quite unnerving.
Washington D.C., Carmine's Restaurant
Diana sat with Steve having lunch. She sighed, yet again being in her Wonder Woman attire. People were taking pictures, mumbling and staring.
"Wonder Woman! Wonder Woman! May we have your autograph?" a couple of kids asked hovering around her table.
"I don't-" Steve started until Diana narrowed her eyes at him.
"Sure!" She smiled. "What's your name?"
"Courtney."
"Here you go, Courtney."
As much as Diana was uncomfortable with being publicized, the children made her feel a little better. She did love being open to the people of man's world. But not too much like this.
After an hour and a half of signing autographs and taking pictures, Diana and Steve left the restaurant, going to the park.
"Isn't this good, Diana? It's quiet."
"Uh huh..."
"You know I really care about you, right? But we have to maintain being professional. Personal life sometimes has to be on the back burner. It's good that people know about us." He held her hand. "We are setting an example for high class couples."
Diana frowned. "A couple?"
Steve smiled. "Yeah. I know I haven't said much of it but with us it just is. We don't have to say much."
Diana didn't agree, her feelings are complicated and she wasn't feeling that "couple" thing Steve was claiming. She shook her head slightly, not feeling like even arguing it either. She has tried to be lovey dovey and thought that's what she suppose to do with him but the more she started learning about man's world, the interactions of people, she started getting a different perspective and wasn't so naive.
"Don't you like being like this? This is what you wanted and I'm trying to give you what you want." He then leans in for a kiss but Diana definitely wasn't feeling that.
"4 alarm building fire on Simerre Avenue." She pulled away. "I have to go."
She flew off without saying anything. As she approached the building she met up with Superman. She suddenly had this feeling of relief and happiness to see him.
"Hey, there, Wonder Woman. It's nice to see you. Feeling better?" He smiled.
Diana smiled and started blushing. He was such the gentleman. "Hi, Superman. It's nice to see you, too. And yes, I am feeling better."
"Good. Let's-" he grabbed her pulling her close. "Watch out!"
The building has a small explosion but a steel beam was coming fast toward them. Superman rushes to catch it, then hurried back to Wonder Woman.
"We have to make sure there is no one else inside."
Diana nodded.
They both flew in quickly. Bystanders awaited nervously.
Superman and Wonder Woman flew out quickly and just then, the building started to collapse.
Wonder Woman was holding a a little boy wrapped in Superman's cape.
"Robert?! Robert, where are you?"
"Dad!"
The man ran up to Wonder Woman and Superman.
"Oh thank goodness!" He happily grabbed his son and held him tightly. "Thank you! Thank you so much for saving my son."
Superman and Wonder Woman smiled.
"Superman? Your cape." Wonder Woman handed it back.
He smiled putting it back on. "Take care, little buddy," he said to Robert ruffling his hair.
"Thank you, Superman!"
Superman and Wonder Woman was transported to the WatchTower for a briefing. Afterwards, Batman told them they had to patrol the downtown are because there was about to be a high class fashion event going on.
"I've got entail the Royal Flush Gang will possibly try to make a grand appearance."
"We got it covered."
Sunjai's Fashion Galore
"Wow! The styles are so... unique."
"Some of them are interesting, yeah."
Wonder Woman giggled. "I like that one. It's really elegant."
Superman smiled. "That would look perfect on you. Actually I think you would make it look even better."
She blushed. "You are very kind, Superman."
"I'm just being honest." Superman looks down then back at Wonder Woman "Did you want something to eat or anything since they will be out here a while?"
Wonder Woman shrugged. "Whatever you suggest."
"Hmmm...alright. I'll be right back in 5 minutes or less."
And with that he was gone but no less than 3 minutes was back with 3 boxes of pizza.
"So 2 minutes to spare."
Wonder Woman laughed. He had this sense of humor that was so charming, Diana never laughed nor smiled as much as she did with Superman.
"I just got the pizzas split with 2 different toppings in each box to try most of them."
He opened the first box. "This is...meat lovers and buffalo chicken, then, Pepperoni and Supreme, and lastly Hawaiian and Wisconsin 6 cheese. I hope you like them all, Wonder Woman."
"You know...we don't have to be formal."
"Really?" Superman questioned surprised.
"Well we have worked together for quite some time. 5 years to be exact. I think we can at least know each other's first names. It's long over due."
"Well in that case, my name is Kal-El," he said happily. "You can call me Kal."
"Kal-El. I like that name." Diana smiled. "Kal..." she repeated.
Just hearing her say his name with her sexy exotic voice sent a chill down his spine.
"And my name is Diana."
He smiled. "Beautiful. Everything about you, Diana is truly beautiful."
"But you don't know everything about me, Kal."
"I can get to know everything. As you can get to know everything about me, too. But I believe that I'll still be right in saying everything about you is beautiful."
"I would really like that. Us getting to know each other more."
"Yeah me too."
The show was over in no time. Time seemed to pass so fast as Kal and Diana was enjoying talking to each other and eating pizza.
"Everyone has left. No sign of the Royal Flush Gang anywhere. Actually was a smooth night on patrol."
"Yes, I'm quite surprised tonight has been really good. Diana paused for a moment. "Thank you."
"For what?"
"For being so generous." She moved closer to him and kissed his cheek.
Kal was shocked and had this goofy shy boy grin on his face. He looked into Diana's eyes.
"Your welcome, Diana."
Washington D.C., Presidential Press Conference
Clark Kent sat in the front row. Before Wonder Woman took her seat, she smiled and waved at him. He shyly smiled and waved back. She sat beside Steve in the front row as well a few seats away from Clark.
After the conference, Wonder Woman hurried to catch up to Clark.
"Clark Kent?"
"Wonder Woman...hi."
"Hi..."
They both slightly laughed nervously.
"Clark, I wanted to apologize For Steve's rudeness the other day."
Clark shook his head. "It's okay."
"If you have any other write up, I would gladly volunteer for the feature."
"Thanks, Wonder Woman. I really appreciate it."
Wonder Woman hands him a small piece of paper. "My contact in London. My US contacts are tied with A.R.G.U.S and Colonel Trevor for now. You would have to go through screenings just for a call. So my personal direct is better."
"But you don't have to make my job easy like that."
"That doesn't mean your job should be made harder, either."
Clark smiled and ran his hand through his hair.
Steve was watching all of this and was fuming, but he doesn't say anything...not just yet anyway.
Couple days later...Break out at A.R.G.U.S
The League was there all trying to round up the villains that are trying to escape.
Superman gets knocked down by Solomun Grundy and Metallo double teaming him.
"You are weak, Superman!"
"Solomon Grundy, Born on a Monday!"
Metallo threw Superman into a wall.
Superman shook his head slightly. He looked up with his eyes glowing fiery red.
"I'm done with this!"
Superman fired his heat vision at Metallo then dashed toward Grundy knocking him out. He then quickly dashed toward Metallo ripping his suit apart.
At the very last minute, before Metallo fell unconscious, he blasted Superman, making him fly back into another wall.
"Superman!" Wonder Woman called.
Wonder Woman flew to him and kneeled down beside him. Superman inhaled deeply then exhaled.
Diana caressed his cheek. "Are you okay?"
"I'm okay, Diana. Just a few bruises that will heal up soon."
"Well just rest for a moment. I'm staying right here with you."
They look into each other's eyes and smiled.
"Now it's my turn to thank you," Kal said.
"Even in battle, you are such a charmer."
Steve again watched them. Diana was so close to Superman, the way she was looking at him and touching him, supposedly helping him, she was being too nice for Steve's comfort.
Later, still at A.R.G.U.S
After the League headed back to the WatchTower, Diana stayed behind to check on Steve to see if he was alright.
"Steve?"
He sighed. "I thought you left with them."
"I was seeing how you were first."
"I'm fine. But first? Don't you mean last?"
Diana frowned. "What's the matter with you. What do you mean by that?"
"I am the Justice League's liaison but I still don't trust them at all. My job is to keep all of you in line, protect the League from the fear our government has. Prove that you all are actually helping for greater good. But all of you have shown otherwise. Thinking of yourselves as high and mighty. Superman? I knew he would be the one with the jock complex."
"The what?" Diana shook her head. "It doesn't matter. Whatever you mean by that, no he doesn't. Superman is a kind man. He helps so many people and wants nothing in return. He shys away from being praised."
"I told you about people using the nice tactics."
"But there are no tactics being used, Steve. Clark is not like those other reporters just wanting a story like you said. I can have an actual conversation with him and I feel very comfortable with him and Superman."
"Maybe a little bit too comfortable, Diana. You are trusting to easily."
"No, I'm not. I trust them becuase I can see their truth."
"I know what's best for you. You should only trust me."
"Stop treating me like a child, Steve! I'm not a child! You call this protecting me? No, it's being possessive and I'm not some object that is to be possessed. I can make my own choices."
"I don't want you getting hurt!"
"No, you don't want me to live a life and learn outside of your selfish world. You want to control everything. You want me to do only as you say and I'm not doing that!"
"You are going to understand what I want for you and why it's the right choice."
"Right choice for you not me." Diana deep breathed and smashed a computer. "I'm leaving, like I should've done earlier."
Downtown Metropolis
Diana didn't want to go to the WatchTower nor home. But she didn't know where she was flying off to. It was like she was being lead by her heart and she ended up in Metropolis.
At that moment, part of her was hoping that maybe Clark would still be at the Daily Planet. Maybe she could wait a while and he would leave out the building. Even though it was a possibility he may have been gone, she still wanted to take that chance and wait for him in hopes to see him.
She was about to pass the Daily Planet building until someone yelled out her name.
"Wonder Woman! Hey, Wonder Woman!"
She looked back to see Clark on the roof.
"Clark?" She questioned then smiled. She was really happy to see him.
She flew down to him and hugged him. Clark tensed for a moment but then relaxed and wrapped his arms around her. Diana exhaled, relieved.
"I was hoping to see you. But why are you on the roof?"
"I sometimes sit here after work to see the sunset and just look out across the busy downtown streets. It's a nice view from up here." He pulled back a bit to look at her. "What's wrong?"
"I don't want to burden you."
"Never. Talk to me."
Diana sighed. "No one has tried to understand me. They expect so much from me. I'm suppose to keep up with this glorified image. I have to just be Wonder Woman all the time. My life is public and there's no way I can ever have any privacy. I have my home in London but I'm sure, somehow people will find out." Diana looked down. "I just have always needed someone to just talk normally to. You've done that. Treated me with such kindness and I have a sense of normalcy."
"Di- Wonder Woman, I do know exactly how you feel and I want you to be comfortable with me."
"I don't talk to very many people. My interactions are very limited. I don't trust many people but I trust you." She looked back up at him with a smile.
At that moment, Clark felt guilty. He has to be completely honest with her now more than ever. He was attracted to her. He can trust Diana and he really liked talking to her being around her. He could easily open up to her, something he hasn't done and couldn't do in a long time.
"I have to be completely honest with you. I feel that you've already known but I have to confirm it."
Without hesitation, Diana took off Clark's glasses. "That Clark Kent, Kal-El and Superman are one in the same?"
He smiled. "I'm not surprised you already knew."
"Well you can't hide that charming smile of yours."
Clark loosened his tie and unbuttoned his shirt halfway showing his S-shield.
Diana touched his chest. "Thank you for being honest, Kal. Maybe that's why I felt so comfortable with you either as Clark Kent or Superman."
"Life isn't easy but I've tried to make the best of it. I try to find balance. That's why I'm Clark Kent. Clark Kent was the name my adoptive parents gave me. Kal-El is my Kryptonian name."
"Kryptonian?"
"I'm not of this world. I'm from a planet called Krypton. It no longer exists. I was sent here by my parents."
"Kal, I'm sorry."
He gave her a reassuring smile. "It's alright. I never thought I would meet someone who could understand and I could talk to openly as well, Diana. But you have been that person."
"How do you balance Clark Kent and Superman being anywhere? The only time I can be Diana Prince is in London."
"Clark Kent keeps a low profile. He wears the glasses, casual clothes, laid back attitude. While Superman is obviously more open to the public." Kal looked at Diana and took her hand. "You can be Diana Prince anywhere, too. You don't have to be Wonder Woman 24/7. I can show you."
Just then, Diana thought back on how Steve said personal life had to be on the back burner.
"I would like that very much, Kal."
"Diana, if you need anything. If you just want to talk, I am here for you. I can help you. I can listen to you all day. I mean you have a beautiful voice."
Diana blushed. With all that he was saying, it warmed her heart. She realized she was falling for Clark/Superman/Kal. From the moment she first met him, she knew she would. This is the first time she truly felt those feelings so strong.
Diana leaned over and kissed him. Kal was taken by surprise by Diana again, but relaxed and kissed her back, placing his left hand on her hip and cupped her cheek with his right.
Diana pulled back a little bit just to look at him to know this was real. Diana felt like she was on cloud 9 and she wanted more.
Kal pulled her back into another kiss causing her to practically melt. Diana wrapped her arms around his neck and ran her fingers slowly through his hair. She moaned in his mouth. It was like they were both pouring their souls into the kiss.
Diana just wanted to stay in Kal's arms and Kal just wanted to hold her in his arms for the rest of the night.
The Next Day...
Clark walked into the Daily Planet with a big country mouse smile on his face.
"Wow, Smallville, finally got laid I see?"
Clark chuckled. "No, Lois. We just talked."
"Talked? Like actual words or...?"
"That's none of your business, Lois."
"Well whoever she is, I would like to thank her. She has you lighting up like the sun."
"She is a very special girl. We've actually known each other for a while."
"Oh good. Maybe you have a chance. Just don't screw it up."
Clark smiled and shook his head. "Nah, of course not."
London, Hessia's Dojo
"Today was very productive, Little Goddess," Hessia said taking a sip of water. "I see you are in quite a cheerful mood. I haven't seen you this happy."
Diana started blushing and couldn't stop smiling. "His name is Kal. He's an amazing man, Hessia. He is honorable, humble, so generous and dashing. He understands me. We can talk so openly to one another. He makes me feel so comfortable...so..." Diana stopped for a moment. "He makes me feel so loved. It's not like how people love me becuase I'm Wonder Woman. Hessia, he has shown me that he cares for me just as simply Diana."
"What about the other? Steve Trevor?"
"I will be honest with him."
Later that night...Washington D.C., Masseria Restsurant
"I'm glad you decided to have dinner with me. I know we said some things we didn't mean."
Diana looked up from her plate, raising an eye brow at Steve. "So what didn't you mean?"
"We argued about choices. We both have made bad choices. I just want to get back back to how things were when we first met. That sweet pretty girl I saw that saved me from shore. Forget everything and especially every one else for a moment."
"I don't want just a moment."
Steve smirked and placed his hand on top of hers. "We have all night together, Diana. Are you ready to go?"
Diana sighed. "Sure."
They arrive at Steve's place.
Steve opened the door and smiled. "Ladies first."
Diana stepped in and just stood at the front foyer.
"When I said get back to how we were when we first met, I didn't mean you act tensed up. Relax, would you? Come on. We can sit in the living room."
When they sat down on the sofa, Steve moved closer.
"Diana, we've been with each other for 2 and half years now. I know we've had our arguments lately and we've been on and off throughout our time together too. I think we've both matured enough to take a new step. Don't you love me, Diana?"
Before she could answer, Steve leaned in to kiss her but Diana leaned back.
"Wait. I need to speak first."
Steve smiled. "Of course. You know I was a bit nervous about tonight too, but we are both ready."
"Steve, you've been a good friend to me. I appreciate what I've learned from you. Trying to be more, I don't feel the same as my feelings have changed."
"Changed?"
"I have to be honest with you. I know now what love should be...how it should feel. There's a big difference with being in love, loving someone romantically and loving someone platonically. I know you want more, but I can't give that because my feelings are not as strong."
Steve deep breathed sitting back for a moment. "You feel love now? From who? The Reporter? Superman because he is like some God?"
Diana frowned and stood up. "Clark is more than just a reporter and Superman is more than his powers. They treat me as a woman not a showcase. I'm sorry but I can't go on not being truthful with my feelings. I won't be forced to feel a certain way."
"So this is how it's going to be?" Steve asked standing up.
"Yes it is."
Steve nodded. "Pft. Alright. You are just confused right now. A little nervous. But we can get through this."
Diana shook her head. "No, Steve, you aren't listening." Diana grabbed her lasso. "I love and care for you as my friend. I'm in love with someone else. That's it. That's the truth. That's my truth."
It was silent.
Steve held his head down. "Leave."
"What?"
"I said leave! You will see sooner or later I am and was the one rightfully here for you. After all I have done for you!"
"So I owe you now?!" Diana questioned. "This is what I'm talking about. I don't owe you a damn thing. You don't control nor own me, Steve! Get that through your head!"
Diana stormed away heading to the front door.
"Diana, come back!" Steve yelled. "Diana, don't you walk out that door!"
Diana yanked the door open as Steve ran to the front.
"Don't walk out on me."
"It's always been about you. But what about me?"
"Diana...listen, I-"
Diana rolled her eyes and stormed out slamming the door.
Diana flew home quickly. She took a deep breath. She felt relieved finally. She felt bad for hurting Steve but knew it was for the best.
She took off all her clothes and got into the shower. She closed her eyes letting the hot water run down her back. All she could think about was Kal and be wrapped in his loving arms.
A few days later...Metropolis Inner City Park
Civilians ran screaming.
"Haha! How about we have a little fun! I will gladly cut the cake!" cyborg mercenary, Equus mocked.
"Dude! You seriously ruined a kid's birthday?"
"How about I cut off that hand of your instead and take that Ring as a prize."
"I don't think so you ugly-"
"Lantern! Stop playing around and get him detained!" Bats ordered.
"Alright! Alright! No need to scream in my damn ear, Bats!"
Before Lantern could realize and react, a picnic table was heading toward him.
"Oh shi-"
He couldn't react quick enough.
"Pay attention, Lantern," Superman said holding up the table.
"Whew! Nice save, Big Blue."
"Don't thank me, yet."
Superman threw the table back at Equus then dashed towards him and punched him.
"Ah, the Kryptonian. Orr would love if I brought you back with me."
"I don't think so!" Wonder Woman flew in and kicked him in his face sending him flying through 3 trees.
"Hi, Diana," Superman said with a boyish grin.
"Hey, Kal," she smiled and winked.
"Oh...you just made a big mistake! But I'll take you for myself."
Diana looked disgusted.
Equus charged at them both. As Superman and Wonder Woman battled Equus, A.R.G.U.S agents arrived.
"We need bystanders out of the way. No on lookers!"
"Lantern! Flash! There's more people on the other side of the pond...he is trying to get to them."
"We'll get them out asap."
Superman was then punched hard flying straight across the street into a building.
Wonder Woman gripped her sword and charged at Equus.
"Fire now!" Steve ordered.
Superman got up shaking his head to focus. "No! Stop! Stop firing! This is still a public area. Not everyone is safe."
"You don't tell my team what to do!" Steve yelled.
"For the safety of these people, it's best to listen and put your guns down now!"
There was a loud splash.
Superman quickly looked to find Wonder Woman. She was underwater with Equus.
"Wonder Woman..."
He quickly flew off diving into the pond. They were fighting under water. Equus stabbed Superman in his army. Superman winced but managed to use his heat vision blasting Equus in his face then together Superman and Wonder Woman punched him as hard as they could knocking him unconscious.
Above the water, Steve and the other agents were looking down with their guns pointed.
"Do you see anything?"
"No."
"What the hell is going on down there?"
Suddenly a burst of water came up with Superman and Wonder Woman holding Equus wrapped in the lasso.
They threw him to the ground as they flew down.
Superman held his arm as they landed.
"Are you okay?" Wonder Woman asked with a worried look on her face.
"I'm fine. Don't worry."
"Woah, Big Blue, need to head to the WatchTower, get that checked," Flash said approaching with Lantern.
"I'm fine, Flash. We need to get Equus locked up."
"Bats, contacted me, I'll be taken these birthday gifts to the rightful owner. Kid will be happy to see the greatest hero ever!" Green Lantern said proudly.
Flash patted his shoulder. "Keep telling yourself that."
"Next time don't be a show off and get thrown into another building causing more damage," Steve said aggressively to Superman.
"What?" Superman frowned. "No one was in the building and a building does not matter."
"Colonel Trevor, may I have a word with you?" Wonder Woman asked sternly.
Steve sighed. "Get that thing in the truck. Make sure he is chained up securely."
"Yes, sir!"
As Steve walked over to Wonder Woman, she folded her arms with a disappointed look on her face.
"You told me not to make scenes in public for reputations yet here you are trying to cause a scene."
"I'm doing my job."
"No, you are making this personal. You are still being so selfish. If you really cared-"
"I do care."
"If you care, you would let me be happy. I won't be forced to give in to nor for some one else's scarification and comfort." She glanced up. "You need to go before Equus wakes."
"Yeah." Steve walked away and got into the passenger side of the truck.
"All set, Colonel?"
"Yeah, lets go."
When the A.R.G.U.S trucks were driving off, Diana flew up catching up with Kal.
"Kal?"
"I'm sorry, I didn't wait longer. I just knew you needed some privacy."
"Thank you for being considerate. Where did Flash go?"
"Decided to go with Lantern."
"Oh, ok. I have to go see a friend in London. I want to catch up with her before she leaves her class. I will call you as soon as I leave to go home."
"Ok. But hey..." he took her hand.
"Yes?"
"Shuster Avenue. Apartment 27. You can meet me there anytime, whenever you want."
Diana smiled. "Ok."
She lightly kissed him but Kal wrapped his uninjured arm around her waist pulling her closer, deepening the kiss. Diana smiled against his lips then kissed him even harder.
"I'll call you," Diana said biting her lower lip.
"I'll be waiting..." Kal smirked.
Hessia's Dojo
"Well, Little Goddess, still in the happiest state I've ever known you to be in."
Diana blushed. "I am! Kal has such confidence, can be a little cocky and arrogant sometimes but he is respectable, honorable and so sincere. I never thought that I could put all my trust in a man, let alone a man like him. Mother would compare him to Hercules or Zeus. Maybe true in regards to physical strength but he is not like any other god or mortal."
"Diana, if you truly love him, tell him. Take the chance with him."
Diana smiled proudly and nodded. "Thank you, Hessia, for your support."
Metropolis, Daily Planet
Clark Kent was packing his laptop.
"CK, where were you this morning?"
"Got sidetracked."
"Your new girlfriend?"
Clark smiled. "Unfortunately no, I wish she was the reason."
"Dude, I want to see her. I have to. She's hot, right?"
"She's a Goddess. You'll meet her but not yet. She and I have to talk. I want to make sure we're both serious about this. I do love her, Jim. I know it may sound like I'm moving too fast but I've known her for a while, I've gotten to know her on a better and more personal level." Clark shook his head in disbelief and smiled proudly. "She's beautiful, man."
Jimmy grinned. "Atta boy!" He patted Clark's shoulder. "Look, just play it cool. Don't act too much like a dork. You got to be smooth. Throw in a few poetic lines. Girls like that romantic Shakespeare stuff."
"I think I've got this, Jim. You and Lois sure do like to give unsolicited advice but thanks."
"Your welcome, bro." Jimmy then thought for a moment. "Hey, I'm just trying to be helpful and encouraging."
Clark chuckled. "Thanks, man, really. I appreciate it and I got this."
10 pm Clark Kent's Apartment
Clark, shirtless only in sweats, was typing on his laptop. He then heared a knock at his door. Using his X-ray vision he saw that it was Diana. He quickly got up and hurried to the door, opening it.
Diana was completely at a loss of words seeing him shirtless and Clark was awestruck seeing Diana in a dark gray seamless tank top and black denim shorts.
For a moment they stared into each other's eyes. Diana then embraced him tightly, burying her face in his chest. Clark wrapped his arms around her embracing her even tighter and pulled her in as he closed the door.
"I thought it would better if I came to see you in person. We need to talk. I have to tell you something," Diana whispered in his chest.
"Yeah, I have to tell you something, too."
They walked into the living room to sit on the sofa.
"I'm not sure how to say this," Diana said.
"Just whatever comes to mind," Clark encouraged caressing her cheek.
"Before I came to man's world, I expected exactly what my mother told me. I was curious wanting to see and explore the outside world myself. I've learned a lot. This world has changed drastically from my mother's stories, however some things remain in some ways."
"Like what?"
"The complications of relationships. Whether platonic or romantic between a man and woman or the same sex, any relationship is built on trust and honesty, and love." She paused for a moment. "My mother advised me not to fully trust a man if at all. We never delved into much in regards to a man and woman loving each other. But I knew what she would say. I've had my own guard up for a while and I've had reason to."
Clark took her hand. "You don't have to have your guard up with me."
"And I don't. You make me feel something I never have before. I am more open to you. I've never felt that way with anyone else."
"I'm glad because, Diana...I've fallen in love with you."
Diana's heart skipped a beat.
"From the moment we met, I knew you were perfect in every way."
"You think I'm perfect? I'm not, Kal."
"To me you are. I love everything about you. Your laugh, your smile, the way you walk and talk, your facial expressions, the way you never give up on anything or anyone and that strong, fierce, sexy attitude of yours," he said. Then he laughed slightly. "Diana, you have this effect on me that no one else could have. I can't stop thinking about you...about us. I'll do my damnedest to keep you happy."
"The night we were on patrol watching over the fashion show. Just in that moment, you made me feel normal. Having a casual conversation and eating pizza. That's all I've ever wanted. A sense of simple normalcy outside of this chaotic superhero life. I like being just Diana Prince if only for a moment until an inevitable alert call." She laughed slightly with Clark.
"You are right about that inevitable call."
"Until we get that inevitable alert call, I like being with you and I want to take advantage of every moment."
She cupped his face and kissed him passionately. Clark immediately responded wrapping his arms around her and pulling her to his lap. Her arms went behind his neck as his hands roamed her curves. They kissed harder and more forceful.
Diana broke their kiss to adjusted herself straddling him. Clark cupped the back of her bringing her closer kissing her neck, making her moan. Her hands glided form his chest to the hem of his pants. She slowly untied the strings.
"You sure...?" Clark began to question. "We aren't moving too fast, right? I just wanted to make sure. I want you to feel comfortable and-"
She cupped his face again making him look at her eye to eye. "No regrets?" Diana shook her head. "Not at all. I'm more than sure about this."
Diana stood up and Clark did as well. He took her hand guiding her to his bed room and closed the door behind them.
Clark watched as Diana took off her top, revealing her black lace bra. He looked at her in awe and slowly stepped up to her, wrapping his arms around her waist and kissed her passionately.
Diana once again melted in his kiss and wrapped her arms around his neck.
Clark tightened his grip around her waist to pull her closer as he kissed her with so much love and passion. He picked her up bridal style and walked over to the bed, laying Diana down. He laid on top of her and kissed her neck then worked his way down. His kisses made her quiver.
He rained kisses near her bra as Diana moaned quietly. His hands slowly went behind her back unclasping her bra. Diana sat up a bit taking it completely off.
Kissing her with a hunger that set every nerve in his body alight, Clark slid his hands up to her breasts, massaging and squeezing the sensitive flesh, before his thumbs tugged and twisted at her already pebbled nipples. She whimpered as a jolt of pleasure shot straight through her, and he responded by hurriedly kissing her throat and flicking his tongue backwards and forwards over each nipple, which only heightened her pleasure as the cool air drifted over her skin.
"Oh goodness..." she panted, her fingers tangled in his hair as he sucked at one turgid peak, pulling his head back to increase the suction before releasing each nipple.
Clark unbuttoned her shorts, slowly, pulling them free of her body until she lay almost naked before him. His eyes roved her, then slowly slid her panties down her legs.
"Clark...I've never..."
He looked into her eyes and smiled, then kissed her softly. "It's okay. I'll take care of you."
His soft soothing touches of affection. Diana moved her legs apart, giving him better access. He pressed his lips against her forehead as his hands continue to caress her body. She exhaled deeply and slowly, enjoying the feel of his hands.
He took off his pants and looked at her for a moment without saying anything. Diana nearly fainted surveying his godly body. She trailed her hand down her chest then reached up and touched his cheek, nodding. Silently letting him know she was ready.
He captured her lips in a passionate kiss as he slowly pushed into her. Diana gasped and wrapped her arms around his neck tightly. He held pressed in her for a few seconds, waiting for her to adjust to the new feeling. He looked into her eyes and without having to ask, she nodded again. He withdrew part way, and then pushed back in again.
She nodded and Clark started again moving slow. He could hear the change in her breathing. Diana's fingers press into his back, holding him tighter against her and she closed her eyes. With several more strokes the stinging subsided and it began to feel good. Clark slowly plunged himself deep into her more. Both of them moaning in ecstasy, making their bodies tingle. Their night was just getting started.
Diana moaned out louder as he pushed deeper, moving in one motion, her body was in sync with his. She then screamed out, gripping the sheets and arched her back as he rocked back and forth. The sensation was overwhelming.
Clark whispered sweet nothings in her ear and kissed the soft spot of her collar bone.
As he gradually pushed harder, went deeper and picked up his pace, her back arched further and she screamed louder. He placed one hand on her waist and the other on her thigh. He rubbed up and down on the inside of her thigh, making her bite her lip in pleasure.
Building up tension in their bodies, the rocking movements of their bodies, the loud moans and screams, the heat they felt holding on to each other, it was pure passion, lust, and love. Neither wanted it to stop.
She clawed into his back as more loud moans escaped her mouth. The sound of her moans sent chills down his back. He could feel her tense up when her orgasm would be coming.
"Oh my...gods..." she breathed out. "Kal!"
She arched her back at the pleasure that vibrated through her body.
Thrust after thrust, orgasm after orgasm, Diana screamed his name repeatedly. Clark grunted and groaned, shoving harder and faster a few more times as his entire body tensed. Diana's body exploded with heat and electricity once more and her orgasm hit in one powerful surge of energy. With one last hard thrust, Clark released inside her.
They struggled to catch their breaths. Feeling the air circulating in the room against their bodies was still not enough to cool them down.
Clark kissed her neck and lips softly. He rolled over on his back, pulling her close. They embraced each others. Diana's left leg draped across his hip, bringing their lower bodies close together. Clark rubbed up and down her thigh as he captured her lips in a passionate kiss.
Diana cupped his cheek and smiled as she pulled back a little from their kiss.
"That was incredible."
Clark caressed her cheek and smiled back. "I told you, I will take care of you. I mean it, Diana."
"Us, being together now, our relationship will be public?"
"No, it doesn't have to be and it won't. This is us...ours. I'll show you whatever you want me to. Show you how a woman like you should be treated. I love you."
"You are such an honorable, honest man, Kal-El. You give me a love I never thought I could ever receive. We have this connection that can't ever be denied. I love you, too."
She kissed him before laying her head on his chest listening to the rhythm of his heart beat. Clark held her in his arms tightly and protectively and kissed the top of her head. Soon, they both fell into a peaceful happy slumber.
The Next Morning
Diana woke up with a smile to see she wasn't in her own bed and last night wasn't a dream.
"Good morning, Sleeping Beauty," Clark said leaning down to kiss her cheek.
"Good morning, Kal. What time is it?"
"15 minutes until noon."
"What?" Diana questioned surprised sitting up a bit.
Clark chuckled. "Don't worry, you didn't miss anything."
"I'm not used to sleeping this late."
"I understand, Di." He caressed her cheek lightly rubbing his thumb back and forth. "That's why I went to go get a few things for you earlier this morning and if you up for an afternoon out, I have something simple planned."
Diana grinned and sat up completely. "What is it?"
Clark leaned over and got a bag. Diana took the bag and reached inside. She took out a beautiful vintage style red sweetheart sleeveless swing dress.
"It's...beautiful. Thank you!" she said, leaning over to kiss and embrace him.
"It was nothing, Di."
"How do you know my size?"
Clark flashed a nervous boyish grin and rubbed the back of his head. "Well I... memorized your measurements from last night..."
Diana titled her head not understanding and thought more about what he was saying. She then smiled and leaned over to kiss him. "I find that rather sweet and sexy."
Clark laughed. "Sweet and sexy, huh? Ok. Well I'm glad you like it but go try it on to make sure. I also got everything else you need already set in the bathroom,"
Diana nodded and kissed him again before getting up and going to the bathroom.
Before she closed the door, she stopped and turned her head to look at him. He was getting up to start making up the bed. Diana smiled, feeling as though she was still in a dream she didn't want to wake up from.
After making up the bed, Clark went to the living room to get his laptop waiting for Diana. Hearing the shower going, reality had truly sunken in. He was feeling immense happiness being with a literal Goddess. She saw him as who he really was, accepted every aspect of him. For all this time, he felt alone, isolated and he could barely open up to anybody but Diana was the one person he knew he could fully open up to.
"It fits..." he heard a soft voice say.
He looked up and caught sight of Diana as she came back into the room.
"I like the glasses too. It's a very nice touch."
Clark smiled setting down his laptop and stood up walking over to her. "You look so beautiful."
"Thank you, Kal. You picked the perfect beautiful dress."
"I was thinking I'll take you to the mall, get some lunch, look around and see if you like anything."
"I would love to."
"Then lets go."
Metropolis Mall
Clark and Diana flew down behind the large mall sign then walked hand in hand blending in with the crowd.
Diana looked around for a moment. There has yet to be anyone staring at her nor walking up to her asking for autographs and pictures.
"No one will recognize you. Don't worry."
Diana smiled and leaned up to kiss his cheek. "Thank you, Kal, for loving me for me and for this. Showing and giving me this new life."
"Diana, you've done the same for me." Clark stopped walking and pulled Diana to him wrapping his arms around her waist. He smiled. "We can do this together. We can just blend in and have our own normal together."
Diana nodded and wrapped her arms around his neck. "I can definitely get used to this."
They smiled, leaning in toward each other kissing softly.
"Excuse me!" A kid yelled out running toward them not stopping.
In that instant, Diana thought they were recognized.
The young boy was being chased by another young boy. Clark and Diana moved apart so the boyd could run in between them. They couldn't help but laugh slightly.
"Micheal! Phillip! Don't be rude!" A woman said coming toward them as well. "I'm sorry."
Clark shook his head and smiled. "It's no problem at all. Just kids playing around as usual."
The women smiled. "You two make a lovely couple."
"Thank you." Clark and Diana said in unison.
"Give it back, Mike or I'm telling mom!"
"Shut up, Phil!"
"Boys! Boys! Calm down!" The woman yelled quickly walking away.
Clark and Diana laughed.
"I told you. We are just blending in as normal. Now where were we?" Clark smirked.
"Hmm...I believe I was here." Diana stepped closer to Clark and pressed up against him. "You were like this..." She moved his arms around her waist. She then put her other hand on his shoulder. "And we were both just like this..." She kissed him. The both felt a spark as their lips touched. Then Clark deepened the kiss.
Diana felt nothing but wonders. She was in love and that was all that mattered. Nothing could be more beautiful than the love that two pure souls share.
