Here's chapter 14 everybody.
Chapter 14: Cruise Missile.
The submarine Phonoi begins to embark as it past by the sinking and crippled naval ships of the joint American and Egyptian fleet that it has destroy thanks to its main ecto-railguns. Some of the surviving sailors of the crippled ships watch the Phonoi as its about to past by the sinking landing ship USS Seattle.
"Phonoi fired on her! With the railguns! The landing ship is on fire! It's gonna sink!" a US fleet crew member said in panic.
Suddenly, on the submarine's runway deck, four Guys in White jets suddenly took off from the sub and started to attempt to flee from the airspace. AWACS Goodfellow noticed this on his radar and also notice something about the lead aircraft's payload.
"Confirming launch of submarine-based aircraft! Four birds! It appears one of them is carrying a cruise missile." AWACS Goodfellow informed.
"What?!" Danny and Dani said in shock.
"What in the world?...?!" Jessica asked in disbelief.
"What happened?!" Darius asked.
Danny and Dani noticed the four Guys in White jets trying to flee. Danny then goes full throttle to pursue them. Dani does the same but then she noticed her weapons count.
"Danny, I'm low on missiles. It's up to you!" Dani said.
"I'm on it!" Danny said.
Booker then contacts his squadron and especially Danny.
"Listen up! You need to take that bird down! Hurry!" Booker said.
Then, Joseph, the CIA agent who briefed the squadron hours earlier, tries to contact the squadron.
"Patch me in. Do you hear me? Joseph Knight here. The cruise missile is a modified version of the Ghost Zone Missile. There's a possibility the cruise missile is a WMD and the target is the natural ghost portal located 200 miles south of your position." Joseph said.
"What?!" Danny and Dani said.
"Shoot!" Darius said.
"Hey! What about the submarine?!" Dani asked, noticing the Phonoi escaping.
"We've gotta help our ship first!" Jessica replied.
"Don't lose them! Shoot them down!" Booker ordered.
"Shoot!" Dani said.
"I'm on it!" Danny said.
"Danny, you gotta hurry, if they shoot that missile into that portal, they will destroy the Ghost Zone and the Earth as well!" Dani said in horror.
"I know, I won't let that happen, just like last time!" Danny said.
"Phantom 1, we'll handle the rest of the ghost fighters, especially the ones going after you. You handle those enemy jets." a Egyptian pilot said.
Danny then pilots his F-22 into full throttle as he pursues the four Guys in White jets, especially the one that has the cruise missile, even if he's being pursued by the ghost fighters. Meanwhile, Matias continues to give orders to his crew.
"Open vents! Fill all ballast tanks! Full speed ahead once we're underway!" Matias ordered.
At the same time, Danny managed to catch up to the four jets and locks them on with his AIM-120s, which Darius and Jessica noticed.
"Danny's caught up to them." Jessica said.
"Scrap 'em, Danny!" Darius said.
"Phantom 1, Fox Three!" Danny said.
Danny then fired multiple AIM-120 long range missiles at the Guys in White jets. However, the jet deployed flares, which successfully confuses the missiles.
"Dang, they used flares!" Danny said.
As Danny continue to pursue the jets, the Phonoi began to dive, which took noticed from the crew members of the crippled ships.
"Enemy submarine is going under!" a US fleet crew member said as the Phonoi submerged into the waves.
"Shoot!" Jessica said.
"That monster will roam the oceans." Dani said.
Danny continues to pursue the jets while AWACS Goodfellow informs him how many miles he has until they escape airspace.
"12 miles until the aircraft leaves the AO." AWACS Goodfellow said.
"Roger that." Danny said.
As Danny stays glued to the jets, he, along with Danny, Darius, Jessica and the rest of the allied pilots starts to hear Matias' voice on the radio on all channels.
"Heed my words! This boat has the means to end the hideous ghosts attacks, in a definitive and elegant manner." Matias said, making his speech.
As Danny, Dani and everyone else hear Matias speech, Danny managed to get a lock on one of the Guys in White jets that is escorting the lead aircraft, Danny fires two missiles and managed to destroy the jet.
"Captain-." a Guys in White pilot said before his plane explodes, killing him.
"Got one!" Dani said.
"We seek not conflict, but rather to restore our planet's former glory by eliminating these ghosts and show them we humans are a force to deal with, a judgment." Matias said.
Danny once again gets a lock on another jet and shoots it down in a fiery explosion. However, Darius and Jessica noticed how the escort aren't even trying to avoid Danny's missiles when being fired upon.
"Bandit down!" AWACS Goodfellow said.
"They're not evading us!" Darius said in shock.
"They're human shields! Crazy!" Jessica said in horror.
"Two more to go, Danny!" Dani said.
"Keep it up!" Booker said.
"And it will be done with reason, from beginning to end. The world and Ghost Zone shall be horrified by the number of lives and ghosts we will take." Matias said.
As Danny continue to listen to Matias' speech, he gets a lock on the last escort and manages to shoot it down.
"For salv-." a Guys in White said before his jet explodes, killing him mid-sentence.
"Bandit down! One more to go! It's the one with the cruise missiles." Danny said as he pursues the final Guys in White jet.
"Only then will those paranormal beings let go of their desire for Earth... A desire that would have taken the lives of ten million or more." Matias declared.
"I can tell he's insane, even across the radio." Jessica said, hearing Matias' speech.
Danny continues his hot pursuit on the Guys in White jet with the cruise missile. He only has one shot to bring it down before it can succeed its mission and prevent a world ending apocalypse. Danny then gets a lock on the last jet. Danny fires two missiles towards the jet. The missiles fly at top speed before making a direct hit to the jet, much to Danny's satisfaction.
"Got him!" Danny said.
"Yes!" Darius said.
As the jet is on fire, the Guys in White pilot realized this is the end for him.
"Salvation-." the Guys in White pilot said before the cruise missile detonates in a massive explosion, destroying the aircraft completely and killing him.
"Whoa!" Danny and Dani said.
"Target's destruction confirmed." AWACS Goodfellow said.
"Danny, Phantom 1, are you alright?" Dani asked, concerned for Danny after seeing that explosion.
"Yeah... I'm here." Danny said.
"That was close. Good job, bro." Dani said.
"Phantom 1 to all planes, report?" Danny asked.
"Phantom 1, all enemy ghost fighters are confirmed destroyed." a US Navy pilot said.
"Goodfellow, any more coming?" Danny asked.
"Negative, no contacts. Also got word that the natural ghost portal 200 miles south of us has closed. Mission accomplished." Goodfellow replied.
"Americans pilots and the Phantom Twins, it's a pleasure to fly with you. Our army will detain any prisoners and we'll work with American rescue teams." a Egyptian pilot said.
"All American planes, head for Aviano Air Base." AWACS Goodfellow said.
"Roger." Danny said.
With that, Danny, Dani, Darius, Jessica and all other US fighters starts heading for Italy. Meanwhile, onboard the Phonoi, Logan watched Danny's pursuit of the Guys in White planes and went to inform Matias of the failure.
"Seems he was down by Danny Phantom." Logan said.
"The darn halfa freak ruined it." Matias said.
"Captain?" Logan said.
"Don't you see? He walked all over with his dirty boots! Over the crisp, white suit of my uniform that I had just steamed!" Matias yelled in rage.
Matias then breathe heavily before he calms down then gave a slight evil chuckle.
"Let's have Danny and Dani Phantom assist in the next plan... It'll make a fine sideshow for our scheme to destroy the ghosts and kill a million people. Or was it the plan to save ten million or more lives, Command Duty Officer?" Matias asked.
With that, the Phonoi heads out as Matias' evil plan to achieve his ultimate goal begins, giving Danny and Dani another major threat while the threat from Dan, Dana and their army continues.
And that's the end of the chapter. Well, the apocalypse has once again been averted, but the Phonoi has escaped. The Hunt for the Phonoi is on now. So, what can Danny, Dani and Phantom Squadron do now? Find out next time in the next chapter. Please review. :)
