Hamato Bloom
Here the Winx are. On Earth, in Manhattan, surrounded by shadow demons. Normally, this would not be a problem. But the girls recently had their magic stripped from them by a cursed relic.
The Specialists are here which is good. Except that against these numbers, even the boys are struggling.
"No where to go now, you pesky fairies," Icy flies down along with Stormy and Darcy. "It's payback time."
Bloom's eyes scan the area, searching for something. Anything. The redhead eyes briefly widen before smiling.
"Everyone!" Bloom reaches into her pocket with one hand and takes Stella's hand with the other. "Hold on to one another, get ready, and follow me."
"No point in running away," Stormy's hands spark with electricity.
Darcy's eyes begin glowing. "There's no where you can hide from us."
"That's what you think. Cowabunga!" Bloom throws something to the ground and the area is surrounded in a large vail of smoke.
Icy can be heard shouting. "Get them!" and the Shadow Demons starts pouncing through the smoke. As the smoke cleared the Shadow Demons were looking around in confusion as nothing was there.
Icy glares at the Demons. "Where are they!?"
Unbeknownst to the Trix, a nearby manhole gently closes a moment before a Shadow Demon steps on it.
.oOo.
Bloom climbs down the latter.
"What is that horrid—" Stella was mid-complaint when the redhead turns around and covers the blonde's mouth.
"Shhh," Bloom hushes then gestures for everyone to follow her down the sewer.
After a while, the Fairy of the Dragon Flame turns to them and says, "Okay. We should be good," she then tilts her head, as the teen is confused as to way everyone was holding their noses. "What's wrong?"
Riven growls, "You honestly can't tell me you don't smell that?"
The fairy lifts her head and takes a good whiff of the air before shrugging. "I guess I'm just use to it," she continues down the path, making a turn every now and then.
Sky walks up to her. "You seem to know your way around here."
"Well, I did grow up here."
Stella raises a brow. "You mean to tell me that your aunt allows you to play in this dump?"
Hearing that, Bloom stops and she slouches a bit. "Stella, there's a lot of things I haven't told you guys about me," she turns to everyone. "Not that I don't trust you. It's just not my secret alone to tell."
The group looks at one another before Flora turns back to Bloom and asks. "What's something you can tell us?"
"My name isn't Bloom O'Neil," the redhead takes a deep breath. "It's Hamato. Hamato Bloom. April just lets me use her name so I could attend school and have a look into what a normal life looks like. Unlike the others, I'm able to."
After that, everyone continues their journey in silence.
The group eventually comes across a large, sealed door. To the right, there is an electronic panel and the two geniuses of the two groups are quickly in front of the panel, examining.
"Fascinating," Tecna mumbles as she takes out her computer. "This technology is more advanced than I would anticipate for a primitive world."
Timmy holds up his own device. "It truly is. I would like to meet the one who developed this," the spectacle boy then hums. "Even the programing is quite intricate. Perhaps if I remove the panel and connect my handheld directly into it I could get us in," the boy goes to remove the panel but is stopped by Bloom.
"Or," the redhead reveals her own device that the girls had seen once before on the Earth Fairy's first day in Magix. A cellphone with the strange design of being modeled after turtle's shell. "We could just use the key," Bloom steps up and places her phone over the panel. After two seconds there is a quick beep and the door suddenly opens.
On the other side of the door is a large open living area with several worn out furniture on one end with a junk of an old tv set with a game system hook up to it. On the other end a kitchen could be seen with a large dining table, an old fridge, oven, and microwave. In a corner is a set up of several old computers hooked up together. In another corner there are several weights laying around near an overused punching bag. There is also a section that resembles a scene from an old samurai film.
"Make yourselves at home," Bloom tells them as she goes into the kitchen. "Anyone else want pizza?" she asks before even opening the fridge and taking out a pizza box. It was as if she knew it was there. The redhead then takes out a pizza pan and places the partial pie of pizza on it and throws it in the oven.
Sky walks up to her. "Bloom. Do you live here?"
"Well, yeah. I have for a long time now," she tells her boyfriend as if nothing is unusual about living in the sewers.
"You lived here?" Flora looks around, saddened by her roommate's living situation. "All by yourself."
At that, Bloom shakes her head. "No. I've never been alone," she looks at a nearby clock. "It's late, so the others are likely out on patrol. The only one's who should be here are Ice Cream Kitty and—"
"What is the meaning of this!?" comes an old slightly scratchy voice.
Everyone turns to a nearby set of stairs and sees a six-foot rat standing upright, with a short beard, wearing robes, and carrying a cane.
Stella lets out a scream. "A giant rat!" and quickly jumps onto a nearby chair.
Before any of the Specialists could draw their Phantoblades, Bloom runs up to the rat, gets down on her knees, places a fist into her hand, and lowers her head. "Forgive me, Master Splinter."
The rat glares at her. "You dare to bring strangers to the lair. Our sanctuary from the surface. Why?"
"We were surrounded, and all the fairies were stripped of their magic, including me. And where the Specialists are well trained warriors, the numbers were far too great for a head on attack, and we lacked the proper defenses. Retreating to a safe location was the only conclusion."
Splinter glares at her. "Were you followed?"
"Of course not!" Bloom shakes her head. "I made sure we were all quiet. Even then, we took several detours before following the proper path. A shinobi should always remain unseen."
The rat's face then softens as he smiles. "Well done. Come! We have much to discuss. The rest of you. Please rest as your conflict must have left you tiring."
"Uh, thank you. Master Splinter," Sky tells him, as he, like most everyone there are still unsure about the situation.
When Splinter left, Bloom goes to follow but is stopped with the Prince calls her name.
"Bloom," he worriedly looks at her. "What's going on?"
The redhead goes to say something, but her name is once again called. This time by the rat.
"Bloom!"
"Not now, Sky," she waves him off. "I'll explain everything later." With that, the two left everyone to their own.
Brandon goes over to hop on the couch, grabs a nearby remote, and starts flipping through the channels.
"What are you doing?" Sky asks.
"They said to make ourselves at home," the squire tells the prince. "I'm doing just that."
The remainder of the group glances at one another before shrugging.
Stella and Musa join Brandon in watching whatever is on tv. However, the princess refuses to sit on the couch. So, she settles standing next to it.
Tecna and Timmy go over to the crudely set up computers and are amazed how well everything is functioning while also adding their own tweaks.
Riven is currently making use of the punching bag before making his way to the weights.
Sky is just standing near the stairs where he girlfriend and the rat had ascended to.
Flora walks into the kitchen and finds herself setting up the table. The Nature Fairy finds plenty of clean plates and cups in the cabinets. Then, she spots a two liter of soda sitting on the counter. "I wonder if there's any ice?" she thinks out loud while heading over to the freezer.
Stella starts thinking. "Bloom living here would explain why she didn't have much of a hygiene habit. Wonder if this also has anything to do with her obsession over pizza or why she's often shouts cowabunga at everything? I always did find that strange."
"You know what the strangest thing about his is?" Brandon asks.
Musa comments, "The fact our friend knows a giant talking rat?"
Flora opens the freezer and is suddenly handed a tray of ice. "Thank you," she absent-mindedly says before closing it back. Her eyes then widen.
"No actually. That comment about an Ice Cream Kitty."
"Actually," Riven walks over to them. "What was that about anyway?"
"I think I know," Flora says. The teens turn to find her staring into an open freezer.
Everyone gathers around her and are met at the strange sight of a pink blob with a cat shaped head. At first, they thought it was just some strange dessert sculptor. Then, it moved before meowing at them.
Before anyone could react, the lights go out. When the lights come back on, everyone finds their hands bound and hanging from the ceiling.
"What's going on!?" Sky asks, as he and the others are still processing what exactly happened.
"We're the one's asking the questions," stepping into view is a strange green being standing no more than five feet, wearing elbow and kneepads, a blue face mask, with a two sets of swords on its armored hunched back.
"Hey!" an angry voice shouts. Standing near the set of weights is another one, but with a red mask. "Which one of you touch my stuff!?" he draws out a pair of sais and approaches the captees. But is stopped by the blue one.
"Don't, Raph!"
"I have one rule, Leo! Do you know what that one rule?"
Both then speak at once. "Know one touches your/my stuff!"
"I know, Raph. But if we want answers, we cannot harm them."
"Woah!" another shout comes. Over at the computers, third one with a purple mask with high-tech goggles resting on his head and a tricked-out staff on his back. "The processing power of my systems have been improved over sixty percent!" he turns back to the captured Specialists and Fairies. "How'd you do this?"
"It was simple really," Tecna shrugs the best she could. "All we did was adjust the input—" her mouth is then covered a three fingered appendage.
"Stop!" Raph orders. "I'm allergic to techno-geek speak and I get plenty of that from Donnie."
Riven was about to insult these lizards when a fourth one with an orange mask speaks up. "Wait! What's burning," he sniffs the air. "Oh, no! It's pizza!" the orange one heads into the kitchen area. He weeps while removing the burnt entre. "You poor soul."
"Mikey," Leo sighs while approaching Mikey. "We'll call April and Casey and have them bring us a fresh one."
"Promise?" Mikey whimpers.
Riven had enough of this. "What's going on here!?" he shouts. "And what kind of freaks are you!?"
Leo approaches them. "You see. We are Ninjas."
Raph points sai at the purple haired teen. "Mutants."
"Technically, we're turtles," Donnie announces.
"Oh!" Mikey jumps in front of them. "And we're teenagers."
Stella shares a glance with Brandon before turning to their captors. "So, you're ninja, mutant, turtle, teenagers?"
Leo shrugs. "Sounds kinda silly when you put it that way."
"All of this is crazy if you ask me," Musa comments.
"What's going on here!?" Splinter's voice resounds throughout the lair.
"Master Splinter," Leo says as he and the others group together and bows. "We caught these intruders."
"Let them go for they are not intruders," the rat orders. "These are our friends."
The turtles do as they are told with Raph mumbling. "They are no friends of mine." The red one receives a glare from Riven.
Master Splinter has walked up to them. "Perhaps not, Raphael. But they are friends of Bloom."
All four of them then repeats, "Bloom?" at once.
"My sons," the master turns back to the steps. "Your sister has come home."
The Fairies and Specialists look at one another in confusion. Then, they turn to the stairs and see the girl in question walking down the steps. She has ditched her usual attire and is now wearing a seafoam green Gi decorated with yellow and has a yellow face mask not too different from what the turtles wear. The girl also has a pair of tonfas strapped to her belt.
The turtles shout, "Bloom!"
Mikey rushes to her and gives the redhead a big hug. "I glad you're back, Sis." He does not receive a response as her airways are getting cut off.
"Michelangelo!" Splinter shouts. "Let your sister breathe."
Mikey lets go while giving a sheepish smile, "Sorry. I just missed you."
"I missed you too, Mikey," Bloom smiles at him before looking upon the rest of her brothers. "All of you."
The guests were about to say something, but then the doors open and a man with long dark hair carrying a hocky stick on his back along with a redhaired woman carrying several pizza boxes.
"Hey, guys!" the man announces his presence. "We got pizza."
The woman adds, "We brought enough to last even you guys for a few days."
"April! Casey!" Bloom calls out to them.
"Bloom!" April sets her stack of boxes down and runs up to the younger redhead and give her a hug.
"Pizza!" Mikey shouts as he hugs the abandoned stack.
Casey looks around at the extra teens. "Looks like we brought just enough for tonight."
.oOo.
Everyone now sits, or standing in Stella's case around the lair enjoying the pizza. The Winx and Specialists were still surprised how comfortable their redhaired friend is around these mutants.
Mikey was going for the last slice of extra cheesy pepperoni, only to have it snatched by Bloom. "Hey! That was mine."
Bloom was already halfway through when she says, "Then why am I eating it?" once finished, she adds. "Perhaps I would have given it to you if you can beat me."
"Anytime, anywhere. Just name your challenge."
"Here, now," she smiles. "And count to five on a single hand."
"Fine!" Mikey started counting his digits. "One, two, three, f—" he stops and looks at his three fingered hand. He then looks at Bloom who wiggles all five of her fingers. At which the orange masked turtle slouches. Everyone got a laugh out of that. Especially the Winx and Specialists.
"So, Bloom," Flora turns to the redhead teen. "How are these guys your family?"
"From what Master Splinter told me, he found me about three months after he and the guys were mutated. Despite being a literal sewar rat, he raised me and my brothers as if we were his own," she explains. "I didn't have any human interaction until we met April. It's also thanks to her, we discovered Pizza. It's leagues above algae and worms for dinner," Bloom takes another slice of pizza and became unaware of the disgust on her friend's faces.
April lets out a small laugh. "The poor thing didn't even know what girl time was until I took her out into the city midday."
"But she ain't no girl," Raph speaks up. "She's our sister. Ow!" he gets smacked on the head by Master Splinter's cane.
"Raphael! Do not disrespect you sister!"
"Yes, Master Splinter," the short-tempered turtle grumbles.
"Now then," the rat turns to his extra guests. "My daughter has told me of your predicament. And we will gladly assist you."
"We will?" Mikey asks only to receive a smack from Splinter as well. "Ow!"
"For the time you are here and until you are able regain your powers and return to Magix, you are welcome to use the lair as your home. In the meantime, you will also learn the ways of the shinobi.
"Let my get this straight," Stella voices. "You're going to let us live here in the sewer and teach us sneaky kung fu moves."
"No," Splinter states before gesturing his head in the direction of his children. "They will teach you sneaky kung fu moves."
The turtles go, "What?"
"With my daughter taking charge."
Bloom was halfway finished with a slice as she noticed Splinter was looking at her. "Huh?"
The everyone else shouts "What!?"
"No offense, Master Splinter, but why me?" Bloom stands from her seat. "You are a far better teacher than I will ever be."
"You know what makes a great teacher, Bloom? It is knowing the strengths, weaknesses, and limitations of your students," Splinter tells her. "I was able to teach you and your brothers efficiently because I raised you. You know your friends far better than I do."
.oOo.
"You shall teach them the art of ninjitsu," Splinter's voice is heard as the Winx and Specialists now adorn their own Gi's with Stella making hers more stylized. "Through your guidance, daughter, I believe your friends will be able to take on these Trix and their Shadow Demons so they can regain their powers."
The Winx and Specialists are now with the turtles, examining the collection of weapons in hopes of finding something suitable for them.
Bloom walks in and spins her tonfas around. "Cowabunga?" her friends look at her then at one another in confusion.
Her brothers just smile as they reply, "Cowabunga!" and all the teens run out of the lair along with Casey now wearing a hocky mask.
"And let us hope," Master Splinter continues. "Your enemies do not make an alliance with ours."
.oOo.
An enraged Shredder bursts through the doors to his throne room. He came charging back to his tower once her heard that is sanctuary has intruders.
"Who dares to intrude in this sacred place!?" he demands as the head of the Foot Clan sees three young women. One of which is sitting upon his throne.
"I hear you have a turtle problem?" Icy smirks. "We have a fairy problem," with a wave of her hand a few Shadow Demons manifest around them. "Perhaps we can help you. If you can help us."
Shredder is intrigued by the presence of these three. He senses great power from them. If he could somehow make that his own, then the Shredder may be able to cut ties with the accursed Krang as well as finally get his vengeance against the rat and those turtles.
