Bloom Manx

Bloom walks out of the alley she teleported to after leaving Magix carrying her suitcase and Kiko on her shoulder.

Sitting next to a nearby dumpster is a reptilian alien with nostrils on his forehead. He stares at the retreating redheaded human girl. The alien then looks at the half-eaten burger that already had a bite out of it when it was found.

"Must be fresher than I thought," he comments before tossing the rest of it away. "I'll give it another day."

.oOo.

"It's great to be home. Isn't it Kiko?" Bloom looks down at her pet rabbit who nods happily. "I wonder how everyone's doing?" she looks back up at the S.P.D Command base. As she walks into the front doors, the girl spots a group of people wearing colorful S.D.P. uniforms, three of which she is quite familiar with.

The one in blue is the first to see her. "Been awhile, Cadet," he smiles.

"I dropped out of the academy," Bloom approaches him for a hug. "You know that, Sky."

"Doesn't matter," Sky replied. "Once an S.P.D, always an S.P.D. You just never graduated."

"Thanks," she laughs and then gets a closer look at the uniform. "Blue, huh? Ouch."

"Yeah," he nods. "But I've grown used to it. Being the Blue Ranger's not so bad."

Bloom then turns to the one in green. "Hi, Bridge," she gives him a hug as well. "Green suits you."

"It's been a while," he breaks away. "Of course, with you being in another dimension, does time flow the same? So, has it been just yesterday? Or rather has it been much longer for you than for us. Perhaps you've been back before it just hasn't happened for us and—"

The fairy shakes her head. "It's the same here as it is in Magix."

Bridge smiles. "Good to get that cleared up."

When she turns to the girl in pink, she's tackled into a hug. "Hey, Bloom! You have no idea how much I missed you. My new roommate is not that good for girl talk."

"It's great to see you to, Syd. You always did like pink."

Bloom steps away from the Pink Ranger and goes to hug the woman in yellow, only to stop midway and steps back. "I… don't know you."

"The names, Z. S.P.D. Yellow," the new woman shakes the redheads hand. "Nice to meetcha. They guys have told us a lot about ya."

"I'm Bloom," she accepts the offer. "I don't remember you from the academy."

"Eh, becoming a Ranger was kinda thrown onto us."

"How'd that happen?"

"Turn around," the woman's voice comes from behind her.

Turning around, Bloom finds another Z right behind her. "Woah!"

The other Z went to stand by the first and soon disappears. "Neat trick, right? Doggie was kinda impressed and made us Rangers," she then gestures to the man next to her. "And this is my best friend."

The man straightens up. "Jack Landors," he holds out his hand and Bloom goes to accept it. Only, her hand went right through it. Jack couldn't help but smile at her confused reaction. "S.P.D. Red."

"Red?" Bloom looks back at Sky and then back at jack. "He must be giving you a hard time?"

"Not as much as he used to," the Red Ranger shrugs. "But yeah. He does."

A new voice then reaches her ears. "Thought I heard my favorite Goddaughter."

Bloom looks beyond the group and sees a blue scaled humanoid dog in a long coat. "Doggie!" she quickly runs up to hug the Anubian. "I'm your only Goddaughter," she says with a laugh.

"Doesn't make you any less than my favorite," Krueger smiles.

Bridge then speaks up. "But with her being your only Goddaughter, that would make her your least favorite as much as your most favorite."

"Bridge!" the commander glares at the Green Ranger.

"Right! Shutting up now."

Doggie turns back to the fairy. "So, what brings you back home? I was certain you still had a couple months left of school."

At that question, Bloom loses her happy demeanor as she looks down.

That worried Krueger. "What's wrong?" he places a hand on her shoulder as everyone else gathers around her.

"I know that look," Syd voices. "This is a girl talk thing."

"It's more of a mother and daughter talk," Bloom corrects and looks back up at the Commander. "Doggie, you wouldn't happen to know where Mom is right now, would you?"

"Your Mother is currently off world doing a favor for Commander Birdie," that saddened Bloom. "However, she'll be back this evening. And I'm sure she'll rush over as soon as she hears you're home. Until then? You seem tense. Why don't you hit the firing range to loosen up a bit?" he then turns back to the rest of the group. "Rangers! I do believe you have an assignment to get to."

.oOo.

Three targets were quickly dealt with. Bloom, now wearing a standard S.P.D. uniform, sighs as she sets the blaster down. Doggie was right, this did relax her a bit. But that doesn't change the main problem.

"You still got it," a woman's voice reaches her ears. Entering the room is a woman with dark curly hair with cat-like ears sticking out of it. Her smile reveals a pair of fangs.

"Mom!" Bloom quickly runs up to hug the Feline.

"It's so good to see you, Bloom," they break away. "Now, Doggie tells me that somethings bothering you."

.oOo.

They two are now resting in Kat's personal lab as Bloom recounts everything that happened up to this point. Bloom sits in a nearby seat, while Kat is working on something. The Feline always listened better while working.

"I know that I overreacted and had jumped to conclusions without any evidence," the redhead sighs. "But he still lied to me and besides that. He was already engaged while we were dating. How am I supposed to take that?"

"I don't think anyone could blame you for leaving," Kat as she moves away from her workstation to sit next to her daughter.

"I know that education is important to you, Mom, and that you're disappointed in me for dropping out."

"Oh, honey," the woman hugs her daughter. "I could never be disappointed in you. You had your heartbroken. It's a tough thing to get over. I know," Kat looks away.

Bloom couldn't help but smile a little. "Thinking about a certain Anubian?"

Kat then sighs, "Let's discussed something else."

From her tone, Bloom knew it wasn't a request. "Okay," the redhead looks over at her mother's workstation. "What're you working on?" and walks over to it to see what she recognizes as a Delta Morpher. Only, it was mostly white with orange lettering. She picks it up.

The Feline smirks as she approaches her daughter, "That there is the S.P.D. Kat Morpher."

"Kat Morpher?" Bloom looks up at her mother. "You're a Ranger?"

Kat shrugs. "A temporary one. This was originally made as a disposable morpher. Couldn't hold a charge for more than an hour. But…" the woman takes the Morpher out of Bloom's hand. "I think I might have fixed that," she explains while setting the device back down. "I plan on doing a test run tomorrow."

"Can I be here when you do it?"

The Feline smirks. "Of course."

Then, a new voice that only Bloom recognizes interrupts them. "Such a tender moment." Standing at the entrance to the lab is none other than the Trix. Icy then says, "It's disgusting, really."

"Magic—" Bloom is cut off by a blast of lighting.

Stormy's hands spark with electricity. "I don't think so, Fairy."

Kat grabs the morpher. "Doggie!" she is then smacked by a dark tendril, causing her to drop the morpher before it grabs the Feline.

"Seems the kitty cat here is trying to call for help," Darcy smirks. "We'll be long gone before any shows up."

Bloom is then grabbed by several more tendrils to hold her in place.

"Now then," Icy approaches the captured fairy. "Give us the Dragon Flame. Or…" the Ice Witch freezes the floor, and an ice spear erupts from it that stops a mere inch from Kat's throat. "Mommy dearest gets it."

Before the fairy could answer, the ice spear suddenly shatters and the tendril trapping Kat was slashed apart. This distracted Darcy, and the tendrils trapping Bloom faded away.

As soon as Bloom hits the floor, she looks over to see standing at the entrance is the S.P.D. Shadow Ranger.

"Get away from my Goddaughter!" Krueger demands.

From the corner of her eye, Bloom spots something.

"Great! The dog's here too," Stormy huffs she blasts lightning at him, but the Ranger manages to dodge. However, as soon as he lands next to Kat, both are blasted with ice. Encasing most of their bodies in ice, leaving Kat's upper body exposed but only Kruger's head is left unfrozen as he is de-morphed. The Shadow Saber too, is embedded in the ice. Barely within reach of either of them. But the Feline eyes the saber.

"We'll take care of him the same way a pound would," Icy turns back to a crouching Bloom who's hiding a hand behind her back. "After we deal with her," the Trix approaches the fairy. "You may have the Dragon Flame, but there's not much you can do without your friends. Give what is rightfully ours!"

"Fine!" she stands.

Kat shouts, "Bloom!" followed by Doggie.

"Don't do it!"

The Trix summons the Vacuums in the form of three bottles. Bloom can feel the power leaving her body and entering the bottles.

"Now," Icy as well as her sisters can feel their powers increasing. They glare at the fairy. "You have nothing."

"You're wrong," Bloom states. "I do have one thing," she reveals the Kat Morpher in her hand. "It's called a Morpher," the fair then throws her hand out. "S.P.D! Emergency!" she is briefly encased in light that fades to show that Bloom now wears an orange and white Ranger suit, with three flashing lights on the side of the head adding to the appearance of having pointed ears.

Kat looks upon her daughter wide eyed. "Bloom?"

"Actually, it's…" the girl poses. "S.P.D. Bloom Ranger! Yikes!" she ducks out of the way from a lightning blast.

"You think some fancy costume would change anything?" Stormy shouts as she readies another spell. But Bloom was quick to move to the Weather Witch and does a spin kick.

"Nice try, Stormy," the Morphed Fairy easily dodges attacks from the others. "Before Alfea, I was training for this," she does a backflip. However! Before her feet touched the floor, the girl is then captured by more tendrils. "Again!? Seriously!?"

Icy glares at the Bloom Ranger. "You're finished, Fairy," her and her coven summons a vortex near Bloom. "As soon as we send you to oblivion, we'll make sure you pets follow along."

"Bloom!" Kat shouts and tosses the Shadow Saber towards her daughter. Bloom manages to catch the weapon and slices her way out of the dark tendrils and somehow slashes away the vortex.

The Ice Witch turns to Darcy and Story. "Let's get out of here!" and magic starts building up around them.

Bloom quickly looks around and spots a pair of handcuffs on a nearby lab table. She grabs it and tosses them towards the witches. The cuffs wrap around Darcy's wrists just as the other Trix disappears.

"Hey!" the Illusion Witch tries to break out of the cuffs. "What are these? And why can't I use my magic?"

"They're inhibitor cuffs," Bloom explains as she approaches the trapped Kat and Doggie and in a few swift movements, she shatters the ice with the Shadow Saber.

Kat hugs her daughter before turning to Darcy. "I specifically designed them to prevent the wearer from using powers. Be they natural or unnatural. Including magic. Took me awhile to get it right."

Bloom goes to hand over the Shadow Saber back to Doggie.

The S.P.D. Commander briefly looks at his weapon before looking at his Goddaughter. "Would you like to do the honors?"

"Would I?" the Morphed Fairy turns back to the witch as she takes out the Kat Morpher. "Judgement Mode!" the device opens and starts blinking between a blue circle and a red X. "Darcy! You are accused for the crimes of numerous accounts of breaking and entering, assault, assaulting an S.P.D. officer, several accounts of battery, theft, attempted theft, damages to public property, unethical use of mind control, kidnapping, and even though this isn't against the law, for being a pain in the rear. You are found," the blinking stops at the red X. "Guilty! Unsurprisingly."

"What's going on?" Darcy asks. Her eyes then widen, seeing the Bloom Ranger raising the sword.

"Shadow Saber!" Bloom charges at the witch. "Containment Strike!" and slashes through Darcy and a small explosion encases her.

"Hey!" Darcy shouts and starts banging on some invisible wall with her now free hands. Bloom picks up the Containment Card she's trapped in. "Where am I!"

"Don't worry, Darcy. You'll only be there until the end of your sentence," Bloom mocks as she holds the morpher back up. "Power down!" and the suit fades away. "So that's what morphing feels like. Almost makes me wish I didn't drop out," she comments as when returning the Kat Morpher back to her mom and then hands the Shadow Saber and Darcy's Containment Card to Doggie.

Kat then hugs Bloom. "I'm so proud of you, Bloom! You've come a long way from the little girl I found in my lab."

"Thanks, Mom," the Magicless Fairy smiles. But that soon fades when they break apart. "But Icy and Stormy are still dangerous. I'll have to call Stella and return to Magix."

"Are you sure?"

"I have to. I thought maybe I could have stopped them as a Ranger. But I only got Darcy," Bloom looks at her mother with determination. "For the sake of Magix and maybe even the entire Magical Dimension. I need to fix my mistakes. Not only as a person, but as S.P.D."

"Then," Kat hands back the morpher. "Take this since you no longer have magic. It'll at least help even the odds."

"I can't allow that!" Doggie steps in. "As Commander of Space Patrol Delta, I am to enforce all rules and regulations. Including prohibiting a non-S.P.D. graduate from setting foot outside of the base with S.P.D. property."

"Doggie!" the scientist complains.

"That's why I'm coming with you!"

The causes the teen and woman to release a "Huh?"

"Those Trix not only infiltrated the Command Base, but they also attacked my Goddaughter," the Anubian turns to the teen. "I lost family once before and I'm not going to let it happen again. They made this personal," he then turns to the Feline. "I'm going to inform Birdie that I'm taking some unscheduled PTO so he can send someone to take command while I'm away."

This causes Bloom to smile. "Thanks, Doggie."

NOTE: To answer some questions from a guest user, Austin.

By this chapter, I have had the intention of the adoptive family stepping in. Just that most of the stories I written didn't require it until now. And yeah, there are some ideas that would have the adoptive family going to Alfea and/or Magix.

I have been thinking about a Dragon Ball Bloom, just wasn't always sure how to handle it. But a Bloom being taken care of by Whis and Beerus is an interesting one. Might use it. I'd imagine that Bloom could become quite the powerhouse if trained by Whis. Beerus may not need to step in.

Funny that Austin would mention Cynthia. A Pokemon Bloom is one of my planned stories. Just haven't decided fully yet. Like, would she be adopted by a Champion or a Professor. I had honestly considered Cynthia but still unsure.

NOTE 2: I don't plan on revisiting franchises aside from possible sequels to previous entries. But given that a series like Power Rangers has so many entries that are not directly linked, I might make an exception down the line using a different entry. This could account for other franchises with multiple entries that aren't just direct sequels, revivals, or reboots.
