And here's the next chapter!
Things start getting big here, so hope you're ready for some important events!
Let's go!
Broken Horns! The Kunoichi of Purity arrives!
"Almost there huh?" Gyro said as he looked over a map of Remnant on the computer, zoomed into Anima, showing their current location, and that the city of Mistral wasn't too far away now, just a day or two's worth of driving.
"Pretty soon we'll be able to take care of things over there." Agumon said.
"And I think we're still in the right amount of time to stop Adam from killing Sienna Khan." Blake said "The main headquarters isn't TOO far from here, we'll see it a bit before we reach Mistral itself."
"In that case, we'll adjust our course and head right for it." Gyro said, before Blake pointed out the general area the base was in, and Gyro texted it to his brother, who was currently driving today.
"Alright, for now we'll aim to scope around there first, just in case we'll end up having to fight our way out. Then we can decide who should go in and who should wait as backup," Gyro said, earning a few nods of agreement. With that said, the group soon went up to the main floors as they were on standby for the trip.
"Took us a while, but we're finally reaching another key point," Pierce mused as Gyro had come to the front as well, though Gyro was standing since Yang was sitting in the co-pilot seat.
"But we're gonna change this for the better too," Yang said, earning nods of agreement from the brothers.
"If Sienna's still alive, then she can actually stop all the other cells from acting out, right?" Biyomon asked.
"More like she'll owe us one, so we're gonna use that to have her stop all the violent activities and get her to actually contact Weiss's mom if she hasn't already." Gyro said "I know Willow's been trying to set things right, but no clue if things on the White Fang side are going smoothly with this transition."
"Either way, we're gonna make sure Adam doesn't get his way again," Agumon said.
"And if that Hazel guy comes with him, we'll send him flying all the way back to Salem. Literally," Veemon grinned.
At the moment, Ruby came in, looking at something on her scroll "Huh… the Gekomon just messaged me." she said.
"You mean the ones that treated you like a princess?" Yang asked her sister.
"Yeah, they said that thanks to the Digimon King's rule over their territory, they've been able to expand into an actual town and they wanted us to come and visit it." Ruby said with a smile.
"Should we go? I know we're doing something important here, but…" Palmon trailed off.
Gyro tilted his head in thought, before shrugging "Sure, we'll send some of us there, the rest of us will handle things here. Sound good?"
"Works for me." Pierce said, the others doing the same before Gyro and Agumon went to tell the others and choose who would go.
When the selection was finished, it was decided that Ruby would be going with Pyrrha, Yang, Weiss, Pierce, Ren and Keenan, and of course their partners.
"And the rest of us will handle things here with the White Fang base." Aile said once everyone was chosen.
"Actually even with us here, we should probably leave some of us to guard the RV, just in case," Huckmon said.
"I can handle that." Qrow said "Penny, you'll help too."
"Yes sir!" Penny said with a salute and a grin.
"Oscar, I think you should head into the Digital World too. Call it going out in a limb, but without Pierce around… I feel my bad luck would act up and get you in trouble and have Salem realise Ozpin is with you." Qrow said to Oscar.
"And I think we can all agree it's better we delay painting a target on your back as much as we can," Ruby said with a wince. Oh sure, they could probably fight and win against Salem since they have that loophole, but considering their histories...yeah, it probably won't be fun for Oscar if/when she starts gunning for him.
"When you put it that way…" Oscar winced, making it clear he was agreeing to join them for another trip to the Digital World.
"In that case I'll definitely be part of the group to talk to Sienna. Our situation aside, she should still listen to what I have to say," Blake said.
"We'll come along too," Aile said as she and Rusty stepped forward. "Like it or not, the White Fang would be more willing to listen to fellow Faunus right now."
"I'll come along too," Nora said. "If needs be we can use Nefertimon and Pegasmon at the same time.
"I should be there too. Just in case we need to heal someone in a hurry," Jaune added.
"Well, since the RV's already in good hands, we'll come along too," Gyro said as he and Agumon chuckled. "Besides, if Adam tries anything stupid, I'd like to see him dash through gale force winds."
"Alright then, looks like our groups are decided," Penny chuckled.
"Once we get near the base, then we'll go," Weiss said. "It'll be better if we have a good grasp of the situation before going."
"And of course, if anything happens, feel free to call us back," Palmon added.
"Don't even need to tell us that," Jaune chuckled.
"Alright then, even though we were already on the way, full speed ahead," Pierce grinned and off they went.
Pierce whistled as the group finished stepping through the Digital Gate "Well damn… now THAT's what I call a town." he said, looking at the feudal looking town in front of them, built right next to a lake.
"It's certainly impressive." Weiss said.
"Guess we shouldn't be surprised they managed to build this, it's been a few centuries for them." Tentomon mused.
"I wonder how much the other places we've been to have changed in the last few centuries?" Wormmon wondered.
"Huh… you know, maybe we should retrace our steps one day, see how everything's changed, might be fun." Veemon figured.
'I have to admit that the Digital World is certainly unique and varied. I'd love to see more of it one day.' Ozpin spoke inside Oscar's mind.
"Guess we'll make it a trip then, eventually." Oscar said with a smile.
"Let's go see this place for now though, it's been a long time since we've seen these guys after all." Ruby said before the group went up to the town.
Standing guard at the gate to town was a chestnut shaped Digimon dressed in red ninja garbs that was wearing a crystal ring around his forehead, sitting right on top of the gate, before he looked down at them and raised up a hand "Halt! You may only pass after identifying yourselves and proving your intentions to this town."
"Huh, an Igamon in a feudal looking town. That fits," Tentomon mused.
Digimon Analyzer: Igamon
Igamon. Data Type. An Adult Level Mutant Digimon. A master of espionage, one that when hidden can never be spotted, neither by friend nor foe. It is said to be skilled at hunting evil Virus Digimon, having been doing so since olden times. Special attack is Iga-Ryu Shuriken Nage, throwing out multiple large shurikens at the opponent.
"No need to be alarmed, we're friendly," Ruby said.
"And we ARE the Chosen Children," Pierce added with an amused grin as the Chosen present held up their D-Crests, the Crests even appearing on the screens to confirm their identities.
Igamon looked them over with a careful gaze, before nodding and closing his eyes "Very well, you may enter." he said, before the gates to town opened, the group walking through it and into the town proper.
"Well… I feel like we just walked onto a period piece… that or the feudal set they keep reusing in Kamen Rider." Pierce blinked as he looked around, the town looking even better now that they were inside of it.
"Guess we shouldn't be surprised, they had a shogun's castle before, now they went full Japan huh?" Yang snorted, remembering some pictures of Kyoto the guys had shown them.
"Seems like it," Ruby chuckled. "Still, it fits honestly."
"And it DOES give the town a pleasant feel to it," Falcomon said, earning a nod of agreement from the group.
They continued onward towards the palace, the town looking very much like the kind of vision that Oren desired, peaceful and happy. Oh sure, there was the Tower at the center of the town, but considering everything was peaceful, and the few Digimon sporting crystal rings were all calm and doing their jobs seriously, they just enjoyed it.
They also got a good reception, no doubt because they'd helped save the founders of the town long ago, so they continued onward to the palace, only occasionally stopping to enjoy something offered in the town, such as quick food stalls and the like.
"This is a really nice town," Huckmon chuckled.
"If only everywhere was this peaceful," Oscar couldn't help but agree.
'Peace is never an easy thing to achieve. But when it can be reached, it's always nice to hope it can spread further.' Ozpin said sagely in his mind.
Oscar smiled and nodded in agreement at that one. He hoped this kind of peace was one they all could enjoy some day.
At any rate, the group continued onward and soon reached the Palace, seeing the familiar sight of Gekomon milling about, taking care of the castle, and when they in turn saw them...well...red carpet treatment.
"It's so good to see you again Miss Ruby!" One of the Gekomon said happily.
Ruby chuckled "Glad you finally dropped the princess thing. How've you all been?"
"We've been great! Ever since you defeated the Dark Masters, outside of the occasional skirmish everything has been peaceful," the Gekomon smiled. "Sure we ended up agreeing to be part of the King's Territory, but he's not a bad guy, and he's helped keep things peaceful here, so…"
"You don't have to explain," Yang grinned. "We get it, and after the shit you all had to go through you deserve to be able to live in peace."
"Besides, we've struck up a sort of understanding with Oren as of recently," Weiss chuckled. "We're just glad you're all doing well."
"Did you guys get a new leader yet?" Palmon asked.
"Ah, yes, one of the heads of staff at the castle actually evolved into a ShogunGekomon himself a while ago. He's a LOT more efficient at being a ruler than the last one, and more kind too." one of the Gekomon said.
"He actually told us that he helped you fight against the Dark Masters in the war centuries ago!" another Gekomon added.
"Wait, THAT Gekomon, the one that was with an Otamamon?" Biyomon blinked "Huh… small world."
"What about the Otamamon then? Has he evolved since then?" Gabumon asked curiously.
"Oh, yes, he has, he's actually evolved into a whole other Digimon, but we'll let that surprise you." one of the Gekomon said with a laugh.
"Guess that's something to look forward to," Biyomon chuckled.
"We're happy that you invited us here," Pyrrha smiled. "It's a lovely town."
"Thank you, we worked hard to make it a place everyone can live happily in," the Gekomon smiled as they led the Chosen further in, and soon reached a large room, with a ShogunGekomon sitting on a throne of sorts while going over a number of large papers.
"My lord, the Chosen Children have arrived," the lead Gekomon said, to which ShogunGeckomon turned and saw them, to which he smiled.
"Welcome, welcome!" he smiled. "It's been far too long, Chosen Children."
"Not TOO long for us, but for you definitely," Palmon said jokingly, to which ShogunGekomon rumbled in amusement.
"Yes, I'd heard from some of the Digimon who'd seen the human world that it's time moved far more slowly compared to ours for a while. I can assume that's changed recently though." ShogunGekomon said.
"Yes, from what we know, Yggdrasil let time flow differently to give the Digital World time to rebuild after the Dark Masters destroyed a part of it." Ren said.
ShogunGekomon nodded "Yes. It would make sense for Lord Yggdrasil to do so. And it was only a few months ago that the Digimon King appeared as well and built his kingdom, allowing us to stand under his aegis."
"Yeah… guess some of what Oren does isn't so bad." Pierce admitted with a sigh "Execution still needs a bit of work, but eh." he shrugged.
"True, the side effect of the towers is rather questionable, but that can always be changed over time. For now, we felt that helping the world move to a more unified and peaceful path was more important for now," ShogunGekomon sighed.
"Can't really argue there I guess," Wormmon sweat dropped.
"Well enough of the current situation of the world. Let's just enjoy the reunion of old friends," ShogunGekomon chuckled.
"Well, not everyone can be here, we had a few things to take care of back on Remnant, so we just split into two groups." Pyrrha clarified.
"Ah...yes, perhaps we SHOULD have clarified the details," ShogunGekomon conceded. "No matter, if they wish they can come again anytime. Our doors are always open for you," he smiled.
"We might just take that offer, thanks," Ruby smiled.
ShogunGekomon smiled again before he clapped his hands. "Now then, since you've all come all the way here, I think its only right we treat you to a feast," he grinned, and before they could say anything, they were ushered out and to another room.
A short while later the group was at a banquet hall, but rather than a typical one, they were rather close to what appeared to be a window into the kitchen, giving them a clear view of the stove. Inside, they saw a yellow frog shaped Digimon, a leaf coming out its red back and hanging over its head, with two rotors of sorts made of leaves as well.
The Digimon turned to look at them, before breaking out into a grin "Chosen Children! It's been a long time!"
The group blinked in confusion for a slight moment, before Ruby narrowed her eyes in thought "Wait… are you the Otamamon from when we fought the Dark Masters?" she asked him curiously.
"That's right!" the Digimon nodded "Though, I go by Frogmon nowadays."
Digimon Analyzer: Frogmon
Frogmon. Data Type. An Adult Level Mutant Digimon. A Digimon with a few strange devices coming out its back, with the large leaf serving as a battle mask to protect it from damage, while the rotors allow it to fly. Very little is known about this Digimon, other than it's data matches that of old generation Digimon, and thus, more analysis is required. Special attack is Leaf Wheel Cutter, spinning the rotors on its back at 20 000 RPM before firing them off at the enemy.
"Glad to see you're doing well, just like everyone else here," Palmon smiled.
"I'm doing well AND I'm the head chef for this palace. So sit back and let me whip up a feast for everything you've done for us," Frogmon grinned as he began to do just that.
The group watched with rapt attention as they were given a live cooking show, and boy did Frogmon live up to his claims. Before long they had a small feast spread out before them, Frogmon looking quite pleased with the results. "Please enjoy!" he grinned.
"Thanks, we will!" Ruby said before the group started digging in.
"I do feel a bit bad that we're here eating while the others are dealing with the White Fang base though." Pyrrha admitted after taking a bite.
"Eh, it's fine, they can handle things there no problem. The only thing that could cause them problems is an Ultimate showing up, but even then they can take those on." Pierce waved off her worries, confident in his brother's group.
"True. I HIGHLY doubt anything Adam could believably bring to bear would be problem to them," Pyrrha chuckled lightly.
"Well, since that's agreed, I guess we might as well eat," Huckmon said, and eat they did, finding the food to be quite delicious.
The meal was an enjoyable affair, the Gekomon residents happy to entertain them while they ate too, but in the middle of the feast, there was a sudden…. 'Pulse' that went through the air, one that caused everyone to stop short.
"...everyone felt that, right?" Wormmon asked with a frown.
"Yeah… somehow I've got a bad feeling." Ruby said with a frown of concern.
As they spoke, back outside, the Crystal Tower sparked, several Digimon looking up at it confusion, before it dulled in color, and turned completely black. At the same time, the Digimon wearing Crystal Rings tensed, before their rings suddenly turned black as well, their eyes glowing red.
Meanwhile, back on Remnant…
Gyro turned back to the others as the Digital Gate closed back up after pulling the away group in "Alright, Blake, Rusty, Aile, you three will take point, the rest of us will stay behind you at first just in case they decide to shoot first and ask questions later."
"So everyone should have their Aura up then, to be on the safe side." Agumon added.
"Good point, if they have snipers or something like that they might try to take us out before we get close." Jaune sighed.
"Yeah… it's a bit hit or miss finding out what exactly they'll do." Blake admitted with a grimace.
"Let's just hope they're willing to talk, or we might end up dismantling this branch of the White Fang right here, right now," Bemmon frowned.
"A last resort if possible," Blake sighed again. "Well, if everyone is ready, let's move."
With that said the group soon set out, leaving the RV parked in a spot that they could see the base, but the RV itself was well hidden. Even then they initiated the defense protocols just in case while Qrow, Penny, and Monodramon stayed in the RV to guard it in case.
The party soon made their way to the base, as planned Blake, Rusty, and Aile taking point with their partners by their side. The group walked for a bit, getting closer to where the base was located but still not quite in sight...before they tensed and a shot flew through the air, landing shortly before them, no doubt a warning shot from one of the guards posted in the area. However they weren't taking that lying down, to which Rusty took out his weapons and fired back warning shots of his own, though this time he aimed a bit differently and soon several guns flew out of their owners' hands. The trees and bushes rustled a bit, and before long it was clear the White Fang members had retreated, having gotten the message. With that out of the way they continued onward and soon saw the building that was being used as the main base of the Mistral Branch.
It appeared to be a simple black building, the top covered in foliage, probably to keep it hidden from any possible overhead cameras from planes and other flying vehicles. And of course, near the bottom of it, etched into the building was the mark of the White Fang.
"Well, here we are," Patamon frowned.
"Let's hope things go...more or less smoothly," Hawkmon said, and with that they continued onward. Naturally the first thing that was in their way were the guards at the entrance of the base.
"Halt!" they said, weapons ready and aiming at them...until they noticed who was in the front. "Lady Blake?" they blinked in surprise.
Gyro couldn't help himself and snorted a bit, while Blake rolled her eyes "PLEASE don't be that formal with me." she said "We need to talk to Sienna, it's urgent." she urged them.
"Well… alright. But why are there humans with you?" one of the guards asked with a frown, aiming his weapon at said humans.
"What, we can't help our friends just because we're different a bit?" Nora asked in deadpan.
"And you guys call us racist." Jaune muttered.
"Hey, what's that mean?!" the other guard asked.
"Now now people, let's not piss off the others intentionally." Gyro sighed, elbowing Jaune a bit for that one, earning a wince from his fellow blonde "Look, we know you have plenty of issues with humans, and we can understand why. But we swear that we're here to help, we don't have any intentions other than that."
The guards looked at each other, seemingly thinking about it before they looked back and stepped aside.
"Thank you," Blake smiled as they entered the building, though not before one of the guards followed after them, acting as an escort which none of them protested on. This was common sense after all. The inside was rather dark as expected, but not overly so since there was enough lighting. Either way the walk through it the base thankfully didn't have any issues beyond the odd looks, though probably because they were being escorted by a guard.
Though one thing they did note was that several Digimon were milling about the base, some of them with members who were clearly partnered. "Glad to see Digimon are being welcomed here too," Patamon mused.
"They are quite helpful, and they're friendly too," the guard couldn't help but say with a light chuckle.
"They are, aren't they?" Gyro chuckled in agreement.
It wasn't long before they reached the throne room, and saw the form of one Sienna Khan sitting on the throne, several guards by her side.
The tiger faunus looked at the group curiously, though she gave a narrowed gaze to the three humans "Blake… it's quite a surprise to see you here with… friends, I take it?"
"They are. They're just here to help me stop what's about to happen." Blake said simply.
"And what exactly is about to happen?" Sienna asked with a raised eyebrow.
Blake turned to Gyro, motioning for him to come forward, which he did with a sigh "Ma'am, we have reason to believe Adam Taurus is going to try and assassinate you soon."
Sienna narrowed her eyes at that "Do you now? What reason do you have to believe this exactly?" she asked, clearly giving him the chance to speak.
"Well, when we helped the authorities on Menagerie apprehend the members of his personal cell there, first, we'd found out he had them planning to launch an attack on the Belladonna household, killing Blake's parents and capturing her to be Adam's slave, and then probably they planned to pin the blame on humans. We also uncovered evidence that Adam planned to claim what he saw as rightfully his, the leadership of the White Fang as a whole." Gyro explained.
"Not to mention his actions during the attack on Vale and Beacon Academy," Blake said.
Sienna rose an eyebrow "What actions are you speaking about?"
Blake and Gyro shared a look at that.
THAT was different.
It looked like Adam did his best to stop information from coming back to Sienna.
This could actually be in their own advantage.
"You haven't been informed?" Blake asked, before pressing on. "The attack on Vale and Beacon, it wasn't just an invasion by the Grimm, the White Fang, a faction of them at least, were actively helping the attack, they helped smuggle Grimm into the city. If it weren't for the Digimon and the Rebellion members who saved Vale once before we could very well have lost the city and with it one of the major pockets of civilization remaining."
"And leading the White Fang attacking Vale was Adam Taurus. We saw and fought him," Patamon added.
"And the worst part about that, is that Adam is actively working with what's leading the Grimm as a whole." Rusty added for good measure.
"And before you ask, yes, we've uncovered...a LOT of things lately. And a lot of it isn't pretty. Suffice to say Adam's thrown his lot in with someone who'd see us all dead in the end," Aile added, knowing that Sienna would no doubt ask, but that would take too long at this point.
"And if he's gone that far, is it really so strange that he might decide to take over altogether? He's gone far enough to go and help an attack on a Kingdom," Gyro added with a frown.
Sienna frowned as she took this all in, before looking at them all "These are some serious accusations you've brought up… but if you say you have proof… I'm willing to listen further." she said with a nod.
"Plenty of proof right here," Gyro said, taking out his scroll, before bringing up news clips and live feed of the Battle of Beacon.
"And here's the message we recovered from the Menagerie base." Blake said, holding up another scroll before pressing the button, the message, which they'd already queued up, started playing.
"Once the Belladonnas are gone, and I have Blake by my side, where she should rightfully be, with her stupid pet diced up into pieces, then we move back to headquarters. I will finally claim the throne that should be rightfully mine, wether Sienna allows me to or not." spoke Adam's voice through the speaker of the scroll.
Sienna frowned at hearing the message, before holding her hand out "May I?"
Blake nodded, before handing the scroll to Patamon, who flew it up to Sienna, placing it in her hand before flying back to Blake, while Sienna opened up the scroll, looking over the data on the message.
"Recorded over a month ago at least… it seems you're all telling the truth." she finally said, and with that the group finally relaxed themselves a bit, glad they'd managed to convince her.
At that moment, Gyro's scroll starting to ring, almost reaching for it before stopping to look at Sienna, who gave him a nod, letting him grab it and answer it "What's up?" he said, before his eyes widened and he put the scroll on speaker "Say that again Penny."
"We just saw Adam heading for the White Fang base, Hazel is right behind him as well. You were right too, it looks like Adam has his mangled arm replaced with a new robotic one from what we could see." Penny informed them through the speaker.
"It seems your warnings hold more and more ground," Sienna frowned. "Still, I wish to try to talk him down," she said.
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Gomamon asked.
"Perhaps it isn't, but I still wish to try. Still, if I cannot get him to change his mind, then you may do what needs to be done," Sienna frowned.
"...alright," Blake said after a moment, to which the group soon hid in the shadows. They would make their move when needed, but not before.
They waited silently, as before long Adam walked into the throne room, Hazel behind him...and they could see that he'd indeed replaced his mangled arm with a robotic arm, and from the looks of it, he'd repaired or reforged Wilt as well.
As expected, when Sienna tried to talk him down, it didn't work. Even when she pointed out the flaws in his actions, he made it clear he had no intention whatsoever in rethinking his course. As such, it wasn't long before the conversation hit a dead end. As such Sienna ordered the guards to detain Adam, and unlike canon, this time they clearly hadn't sided with him as they moved to obey. However, Adam's loss of control also came with a further loss of sanity as he immediately surged forward, aiming to take Sienna's life and probably force control on the White Fang. However, before he could succeed, a burst of light and something rushed forward, before a loud clang rang out...and Adam found his sword stopped cold by a golden staff.
"As entertaining as watching you flail about like a maniac is, we're putting a stop to this right here." Angemon said with a frown.
"What?!" Adam asked incredulously. "Who are you?!"
Angemon smirked a bit "Don't remember me? I'm shocked, I AM the reason you had to reforge that sword after all."
Adam blinked before his eyes widened.
"You didn't REALLY think we forgot about you, right?" Nora smirked as the group came out of hiding, and a moment later, several Adult Digimon were at the ready.
"We know all about your plans, and let's just say we don't care much for them one bit!" Rusty glared.
"Your crazy ambitions end right here!" Aile added.
Adam snarled, trying to push back against Angemon's staff, only to not move an inch forward "My ambitions end? No! They've only just begun! I WILL LEAD MY PEOPLE TO GLORY! I WILL KILL EVERY SINGLE HUMAN ON THIS GODFORSAKEN PLANET!"
"Literally the only thing right in that was that this place is godforsaken." Gyro snorted in amusement.
"And thanks for proving to everyone here that you're completely out of your mind," Jaune said dryly.
"And we won't stand for that. We're not letting you drag this world into another hell for your own revenge!" Angemon declared, before breaking the lock, and swung his staff down, which Adam countered with a swing of his sword...which immediately broke upon impact, and knocked Adam back.
"Just give it up already!" Gatomon frowned. "You're never going to win!" she said...while they also idly noticed Hazel was moving back, clearly seeing this as a lost cause.
Before he could get far, a tail was slammed behind him, making him look back to see Greymon growling "Where do you think YOU'RE going?"
Adam… didn't even NOTICE this interaction, too lost in his rage as he actually seethed like a raging bull.
"It's over Adam." Blake said simply "You've lost. The Faunus are never going to follow you."
"IT WILL NEVER BE OVER! I WILL SEE HUMANITY GONE IF IT'S THE LAST THING I DO!" he roared, grasping the broken remains of Wilt, before charging forward. Blake sighed, before looking at Sienna who just nodded, to which Blake charged forward, and in a flash the two of them passed each other...and Adam's head fell off his shoulders, his weakened Aura unable to even slow the Chrome Digizoid weapon.
Blake swiped the blood off her blade with a sigh "Finally over."
"And now that Adam's dealt with…" Rusty trailed off, before all of them looked at Hazel.
"As much as doing the same we did to Tyrian to you would be fitting, YOU are going to actually answer for your crimes you've done while working for that crazy bitch." Gyro said with a glare, before turning to Sienna "Before we go, there's just something else I want to talk about."
"Go ahead." Sienna said with a nod, even as she motioned for her guards to dispose of Adam's corpse.
"Willow Schnee should have been trying to get into contact with you recently. She took control of her company back, and she's trying to make reparations for everything her ex-husband did to your kind. One thing I know she's already done is give Faunus workers higher wages, and she took them out of the mines as well, letting them work upground instead while the mine is handled by automated bots, and Digimon who can handle the harsh environments of the mines with ease. If you answer her, I think you can finally start on what you've been wanting for Faunus, actual equality." he told her seriously.
Sienna put a hand to her chin, clearly thinking on his words "I see… thank you for informing me of this. I'll… consider your words." she said with a nod.
Gyro nodded, before walking up towards her throne and holding a hand out "I just want you to know that as long as all the White Fang seek is equality, you'll have my full support."
Sienna looked at his hand for a long moment, before eventually, she smiled a bit, and grabbed his hand, shaking it "Thank you… I don't believe I ever caught your name."
"Gyro Vermillion. I hope we can work together peacefully in the future, High Leader Khan." he said with a friendly grin.
"As do I Gyro." Sienna said with a nod.
"Now then…" Ikkakumon said, before everyone looked at Hazel "Time for you to do your time." he said with a glare.
Back in the Digital World…
"So much for a peaceful visit, huh?" Pierce snorted. The reason? What had started as a visit to some friends had become a siege with them working to protect the castle after the Crystal Tower in the middle of town suddenly turned into a Dark Tower, and every Crystal Ring turned into a Dark Ring, bringing basically the entire town's fighting forces under the control of whoever was making these things, something that soon spread to the rest of the town as the Dark Rings were suddenly released from the Dark Tower.
"Really wish we had the others right now." Yang said as Robinmon shot down several Dark Rings that flew towards them, while ForceBeemon continued widening the moat he'd made between the castle and the rest of the town.
"Really wish we had the others right now." Veemon frowned, peeking over the wall slightly, only to blink as a ladder was somehow set up, but he pushed it away from the wall, letting the Digimon that tried to climb fall back into the moat.
"That Tower is jamming us," Weiss frowned. "Until we deal with it, we can't contact anyone outside this town."
"Then we'd better knock that tower down as soon as we can," Oscar frowned.
"Easier said than done. The entire town is under that thing's control now," Huckmon growled.
"If nothing else though, every Ring we break adds to our own possible forces," Ren mused, right as Tetermon broke the Rings of a few Digimon that were trying to attack them, and once freed from the control they quickly sided with them.
"For now looks like the best we can do is get as many Digimon on our side first THEN we plan an attack on the tower," Pierce sighed.
"We'll work on solidifying the defenses here too," one of the Gekomon said. "Once that's done, it'll be easier for you to launch your assault."
"At the very least, it looks like the tower's running out of Dark Rings for the most part." Ruby said, perched on the wall and aiming through Crescent Rose X's sight to shoot down any Dark Rings from afar "I think we'll be good to go soon."
"Well, at least that means it can't just spawn an infinite amount of those things." Raimon said with a sigh of relief.
"If it could actually spawn an infinite number of those Rings, then I'd be extremely worried. Even here, there's gotta be something going into making something else," Pyrrha frowned.
"At any rate, that helps us a lot. It means as long as we can hold out, we'll be fine," Weiss mused.
"So basically we'll keep playing defense for now," Ruby nodded.
"I hope we don't have to do that for TOO long though," Palmon frowned.
"Yeah… I don't think we can last all day." Keenan said as he fired a few arrows, breaking some more rings.
"If we could at least deactivate the tower we'd have a chance at turning things in our favor." Huckmon frowned.
Right as he said that though, there was a shift in the movements of the Digimon being controlled, as they stopped their attacks...before they seemed to retreat back into the city area.
"They're...retreating?" Oscar blinked.
"Why are they retreating?" Robinmon blinked.
"Don't know, but I don't think it's to let us have the win," ForceBeemon frowned.
"Let's take the chance to regroup first," Raimon suggested, earning nods of agreement as they went back to the palace.
"Okay, so we can all agree they're probably planning something, right?" Pierce frowned as currently the group was gathered together to make a plan of action.
"That much is for sure," Weiss frowned. "I imagine whoever is behind the Dark Towers realized that just throwing Digimon at us is just going to help us in the long run."
As she said that, they looked towards another room where the freed Digimon were working to help fortify the palace from further attacks.
"That means we NEED to find a way to take down the tower ASAP. Even if this thing used to be Oren's tower, we already know we can't change them back into Crystal Towers, so our only option is destroying them." Ruby said with a frown.
"Problem with that is that they're using the Digimon they still have under their control as living shields right now." Falcomon frowned, knowing that otherwise they would have rushed the tower to knock it down already.
"Whoever made this thing is one sick bastard," Veemon frowned.
"Yeah, we have to find out who's behind these things and stop them fast, or at this rate it'll be File Island all over again," Tentomon agreed.
The group continued to discuss, but as they did, they weren't aware that the palace wasn't as well defended as they thought.
In one of the rooms, ShogunGekomon continued to make sure they had a list of everyone who'd taken refuge in the palace as well as making sure their supplies could handle them in the event of a siege. So far things were looking alright, but so focused in his work, he never noticed the small figure sneaking into the room from a section of the ceiling. Igamon smirked at seeing ShogunGekomon not notice him at all, before he took out...a Dark Spiral. Not wasting any time, he threw the Spiral which attached itself to the topknot on ShogunGekomon.
ShogunGekomon gasped when he felt something affix to him, before he felt a strong pull on his mind, one that was too strong and sudden to resist…
Meanwhile the Chosen had finished discussing a plan of action...which quickly became moot when they suddenly felt the palace shake violently. "What's going on now?!" Palmon gasped.
"Nothing good, I'm sure." Weiss frowned, before the group ran towards the source of the shaking, and saw… "Oh that's just great" she said in annoyance, as the group was staring at ShogunGekomon as he rampaged and broke open the walls in his path, with a black colored spiral affixed to his top knot, his eyes glowing red.
"Alright, so whoever can take over the towers can even make Dark Spirals, that's a problem." Ruby frowned before ShogunGekomon broke out of the castle and sent his rampage into town.
"...looks like we've gotta stop him too. Dammit, so much for our plan," Pierce groaned.
"Let's hope we don't end up having to fight the entire town while we try to stop him…" Biyomon frowned.
"Not to be a downer, but I HIGHLY doubt whoever is pulling the strings is just gonna let us stop him without a fight," Yang groaned.
"Then you guys better not hold back." Ruby told everyone who had a Digimental, earning nods before they Armor evolved and rushed after ShogunGekomon to try and get that spiral off of him.
"Now… what do WE do?" Pierce sighed.
"We don't have Digimental of our own." Veemon frowned.
"Guys!" they heard a voice say, turning to see Frogmon run towards them "I just remembered something important!"
"What is it?" Oscar asked.
"Ruby's Crest! I saw it beneath the castle in the basement!" Frogmon said urgently.
"What?" Ruby said in surprise.
"Our Crest? Could that mean…?" Palmon gasped.
"How come you didn't mention this sooner?" Huckmon asked curiously.
"It's been LITERALLY decades since I found it, so I'd forgotten about it until now." Frogmon said apologetically.
Ruby sighed, shaking her head "That doesn't matter right now. Just take us down to it, it might just be what we need right now." she said urgently, Frogmon nodding before guiding them into the basement.
"When I found whatever that thing was, it actually glowed before it shot some energy into me, back when I was still an Otamamon, I think it's why I evolved into this form instead of Gekomon like all the others." Frogmon explained.
"It did?" Palmon blinked. "That's unexpected."
"Hopefully just the unexpected we need," Huckmon frowned.
"Let's go and see what it is," Veemon said, hoping that whatever it was it'd help.
Frogmon led them down to a lower part of the palace, until they reached a room that was deep in the basement. Opening the door, he went in and rummaged through the stuff in the room before…
"Here it is!" he said, pushing aside some stuff, as well as revealing the item in question. "This thing was basically stuck to the floor, so there was really no point in trying to move it," Frogmon said as the item in question was a Digimental of all things. It looked like several leaves held together in the shape of an egg, sitting on top of a shuriken, the Crest of Purity displayed right in the center.
"Looks like it's my Digimental." Ruby said with a grin, before grabbing hold of it and lifting it up, the Digimental glowing a bit in her hand before she turned to Palmon "You ready?"
(Play 'Break up')
"Let's do it!" Palmon said with a grin of her own.
Ruby nodded, before holding the Digimental high "Digimental Up!"
The void appeared as the Crest of Purity rotated in the air before Palmon and the Digimental appeared, settling for a triangular formation. "Palmon, Armor Evolution!" Palmon called out as she soon made contact with the Digimental, all three spinning rapidly before a burst of petals appeared, Palmon concealed in the storm of flower petals as behind her faded images of Togemon, Lilymon, and Rosemon appeared in succession, before the petal storm dispersed revealing her new form.
She'd grown to more human proportions, wearing a white outfit over her body, a scarf made leaves around her neck, covering her mouth as it flowed back, the flower on her head bloomed into a large one with short vines coming out of it, almost like hair, her legs fading from green into brown, made up of roots, while her right arm was a mass of vines wrapped around a large fuma shuriken, her left arm somewhat similar, but slimmer, ending with vines wrapped around kunai to form a four fingered hand with essentially clawed tips on each finger "Flowering Purity! Konohamon!"
Digimon Analyzer: Konohamon
Konohamon. Data Type. An Armor Level Plant Digimon. A Palmon that evolved through the power of the Digimental of Purity, gaining enhanced control over plants thanks to it. Digimon that don the power of this Digimental will obtain power over nature itself, as well as the ability to generate natural bladed weaponry in the form of knives of various types and throwing stars. Special attacks are Konoha Star, throwing the overgrown Fuma Shuriken in her hand to cut down the enemy, and Petal Storm, raining down all sorts of sharp weaponry on her enemy.
"Woah… so now we got a kunoichi huh?" Pierce said with a raised eyebrow.
"How do you feel?" Ruby asked her partner with a smile.
"I feel great. I think I'll be able to handle this." Konohamon said with a nod, and despite her mouth being hidden, they could tell she was smiling.
"Then show us what you can do!" Veemon grinned.
"Will do," Konohamon nodded...before she sensed something. "Enough hiding!" she said, throwing a kunai at a section of the room, to which a clang was heard, and Igamon emerged.
"Tch! So you found me," he growled. "No matter, this changes nothing," he said before vanishing in a puff of smoke.
"...guess we know how a Dark Spiral got in here," Ruby frowned.
"Well he's wrong if he thinks this won't change anything," Konohamon said, before she crossed her arms and suddenly she split into several Shadow Clones.
"...are these?" Veemon blinked, before poking one of them. "Oh wow, you can use solid Shadow Clones?"
"Pretty much," Konohamon chuckled. "Alright girls, time to clear out the Dark Rings through town AND help our friends."
"We'll handle the various Digimon. You help stop ShogunGekomon," the Shadow Clones nodded before they soon took off.
"Let's get moving too. We'll meet you at where ShogunGekomon is," Ruby said, earning a nod from her partner who soon took off as well, leaving them to chase after her.
"She's gotten really fast," Oscar couldn't help but say.
"Yeah, a lot of the Armors are kinda like that," Pierce chuckled lightly. As the group ran through the opening in the wall and into the town, they noticed Konohamon's Shadow Clones darting along the city, taking out Dark Ring after Dark Ring. However, whenever a Digimon got a lucky shot in, a clone vanished too, so while they were cutting down on the number of potential enemies, their own numbers were taking hits too. Even so, they kept their attention focused on where they could see ShogunGekomon who was positioned not too far away from the Dark Tower, clearly aimed to be a guard of sorts...and judging by the explosions happening around him, so far he was doing a good job.
As they ran through, they heard the sound of blades...and saw two figures darting through the rooftops and clashing, soon revealing to be Konohamon and Igamon.
"Looks like he didn't want to take any chances," Huckmon frowned.
Konohamon noticed them as they approached. "I'll handle this guy first. Help the others!" she shouted.
"Alright, but be careful!" Ruby said. She trusted her partner, but she still worried all the same.
"Always," Konohamon nodded as they ran past her. "Now then...Petal Storm!" she called out, sending a barrage of weapons at Igamon who managed to evade, before he found an opening and charged forward, aiming to cut her with his blade. However, when his blade made contact, she suddenly vanished, revealing a log in her place, his blade firmly lodged into it.
"Too bad, looks like you got impatient," Konohamon chuckled, before she lashed out with her Fuma Shuriken which hit the Dark Ring, causing it to break apart, leaving Igamon blinking as the control was lifted...and still dealing with his sword now stuck in the log. Even so she didn't waste time and went straight for ShogunGekomon.
When she arrived, she saw her friends all busy trying to stop his movements, but he proved to be quite durable. "Sorry I'm late, had a LOT of things to deal with," she said.
"No worries, we're making due," Robinmon chuckled lightly...right before evading an attack.
"Though any extra help would be appreciated!" Weiss added.
"How about a small army?" Konohamon offered, creating more shadow clones which quickly piled on to ShogunGekomon, not exactly stopping his movements, but definitely slowing him down. Even so, he was starting to shake them loose, but that gave them a new opportunity still.
"Take out the tower now! While he's trying to shake the clones off!" Ruby shouted, seeing as they were very close to the tower.
"You got it!" everyone shouted, realizing her plan, before EVERYONE present unloaded on the tower as best as they could, the barrage of attacks aimed at the base destroying the support and soon it crumbled under its own weight. With its destruction, any remaining Digimon still under the control of the Dark Rings were freed when their rings fell off by themselves. However, a roar alerted them to the fact that ShogunGekomon was still under the control and had shaken off the shadow clones...though when they turned back to see him clearly, they ALSO noticed that his movements after the initial burst...had become more sluggish.
"Guess that Dark Spiral still has some control on him." Oscar frowned.
"It's stronger than the Dark Rings, so it makes sense." Keenan added.
"Then let's give it a team effort to break that thing and free him from it's control." Pierce added, before the three of them made their partners evolve to Adult Level.
"Everyone… fire!" Ruby shouted as she pointed right at the Spiral.
"V Breath Arrow!"
"Kunai Wing!"
"Burn Flame!"
"Eagle Eye!"
"Drill Missile!"
"Mach Stinger!"
"Lightning Lance!"
"Konoha Star!"
The attacks all flew together, before striking the Spiral at the same time, causing an explosion that knocked ShogunGekomon down on his back, the Dark Spiral crumbling off his top knot and breaking apart into data dust.
(End song)
"We did it!" Veedramon cheered along with the others.
"That we did," Pierce grinned.
"Though...not as well as I'd have preferred…" Keenan frowned, looking at the damaged town.
"I don't think there was anything else we COULD have done…" Peckmon sighed.
"You're right. At least there weren't any casualties," Keenan nodded.
"And what's broken can be rebuilt," BaoHuckmon said.
"And it's not like we can't help rebuild it too," Konohamon said.
"After everything that happened, we should definitely pitch in," Oscar agreed.
"No, that won't be necessary," came Oren's voice, to which the group turned and saw Oren with an aerial squad. Oren himself was riding on the combined Speedermon.
"I'd make a joke on you being late, but…" Pierce trailed off, looking at the badly damaged town.
"Yes, I'd appreciate if you spared the dry humor," Oren sighed. "How bad is it?"
"Well...from what we know anyway, the worst was just damage to the town. We were able to break just about every Dark Ring and the Dark Tower as well as the Dark Spiral used on ShogunGekomon. So…nothing that can't be rebuilt," Ruby said.
Oren nodded at that. "I'm glad to hear that," he sighed, clearly frustrated that once again his technology was being used to cause damage.
"...you know this isn't your fault, right?" Weiss asked after a moment.
"It may as well be. I'm STILL unable to stop whatever is causing the systems to get corrupted like this…" Oren frowned, before shaking his head. "No, I shouldn't be thinking like that. I...thank all of you for what you've done. That's why I can't in good conscience take more of your time. My army will help with the repairs. You all...you all have your own duties to attend to," he said, trying to act strong, but it was clear the recent events were still weighing heavily on him.
Pierce frowned, before going up to him and placing a hand on his shoulder "Hey… just know that if you ever want our help, despite the differences between us… we'll come."
Despite himself Oren smiled a bit, and nodded. "Thank you. I will be sure to remember that." It was small moments like this that reaffirmed that they really weren't so different in all the good ways.
At the same time, in a dark building far away, a camera was looking at the scene, before somebody watching it smirked in the shadows of the room.
"It's time."
And there you go!
Yeah, Adam is finally over and done with, and on top of that, Sienna got to live, unlike canon which killed her off way too quickly.
Talk about wasted potential.
As well, the Chosen now have Hazel in custody.
We've also gotten the Digimental of Purity... and the evolution for it, unlike most of the others, is entirely original this time.
While KajiGreymon, Raimon, ForceBeemon, Robinmon, MetalSealmon and Tetermon all originally belong to neoarchangemon on DeviantArt (I'm just using his designs after modding them a bit to make them more streamlined), Tornamon, Vanguamon, the Speedermon Twins and Konohamon are entirely my own designs, and, of course, Pegasmon and Nefertimon are both official Digimon.
And I'm sure you're all looking forward to a certain OTHER Armor Evolution, aren't you all?
He'll appear eventually, don't worry, now's just not the time for him yet.
But, we've also got our mysterious enemy working in the shadows still, and clearly, something's about to go down soon.
Hope you're all ready for that, because...
