Not a long wait this time.

Yeah, me and Timeless finally hammered out a schedule for stories we work on.

Namely: Two random stories of my choosing, one of my posted stories, Digital Story, one random story of his choosing, and either Pokemon Retold or Kinder World over in his stories, then cycle back to me

Means we actually get a lot more work done too.

So, hope you were looking forward to this chapter... because it's finally time.

Awaken! The Jet Black Dragon Warrior!

"Well… we have a problem." Nero said with a scowl as he, his mother and his uncle stood in their base, Gazimon hanging off his back while Raven cleaned nearby.

"Does it have anything to do with why we haven't brought out any Dark Towers for testing yet?" Mummymon asked curiously.

"Yes." Nero said with an aggravated sigh "We've run out of them, and we don't have enough resources to make enough with the time we have."

"So… we're doing this in the field… and it needs to be perfect on the first shot." Arukenimon said with a frown.

"Otherwise my brother and his friends will blast us for sure, yes." Nero added.

"Don't you just hate time crunches?" Gazimon said bitterly "If those things didn't move around so often, we probably wouldn't have to rush, but noooo, they're mobile and don't like to stay in one stupid place!"

"Well, nothing to be done about it," Nero frowned as he opened up a map. "The Dark Towers still in the field…" he muttered, before pointing to a location. "Here. If I run a program, we should be able to move all nearby Dark Towers to this spot, and if we hurry, we'll have the 100 we need," he said.

"How do you know it's 100 towers that we'll need?" Mummymon asked him.

"Educated guess." Nero said "An Adult requires a single tower, and a Perfect requires 10, we can also make 10 Child levels from a single tower. The chances of an Ultimate requiring 10 times what a Perfect needs are high." he mused, before frowning "Now let's hope I get the dosage right on the first try."

"Well…look on the bright side. If it DOESN'T work…at least our escape route is secure," Mummymon sweatdropped.

"I hardly consider being sent flying via explosion to be an escape route nor secure," Arukenimon said dryly.

"You should probably hurry…" a voice none of them expected spoke up, the four of them turning to Raven, still sweeping, but looking at them. Her gaze was… still that of a person who'd accepted her fate, but there was finally an actual presence within "I've been monitoring when you're not around… those kids are destroying more and more of your towers."

"Well then, guess we'll have to do this immediately," Nero frowned, opting to think about the fact Raven actually took some kind of initiative later.

For now, he had a plan to work on, one that he couldn't afford to fail.

Later…

"Timber!" a shout was heard as an explosion happened…and a Dark Tower hit the ground with a loud 'thud', joining a large number of other such towers that had been taken down.

"It's almost incredible how he managed to plant so many of these things. Its taken us THIS long to start making a dent in them," Blake couldn't help but say as the group was once again busy taking down Dark Towers in areas that had a large number of them. With things still calm in Mistral lately, and Nero seemingly laying low since the last time, they'd taken the opportunity to start destroying more of the Dark Towers.

Sure, the signals they gave off were down… but they were still an eyesore and it was just better to get rid of them and fix the view for everyone. That and better to cut off more of Nero's resources. Less Dark Towers should mean less potential Dark Tower Digimon.

"At the rate we're going, we should clear them up within a month," Oren said.

"Considering all the things we've been up to…that's a pretty good time table," Gyro mused.

"Here's hoping its fast enough to stop Nero from pulling any larger moves," Blake frowned.

"Then maybe we should pick up the pace," Emerald grinned a bit.

"Maybe, but let's not go overboard," Pyrrha chuckled a bit.

"Besides, we've stopped everything Nero's thrown at us so far. As long as we work together, I'm sure we can beat anything he comes up with," Gyro grinned.

"A little corny there, but can't deny that," Emerald snorted.

Right as she said that, another of the Towers fell, their partners coming back and reverting back to child form. "That's another bunch of Dark Towers that won't be causing anyone trouble anymore," Terriermon grinned.

"They definitely look better on the ground. At least the Crystal Towers had some class to them," Lopmon agreed.

"Great work everyone," Pyrrha smiled, before turning to the others. "How about we take a break first?"

"Sounds good to me," Gabumon spoke up.

"It couldn't hurt," Blake nodded as Patamon flew over to her.

"No objections here," Emerald chuckled, which Oren echoed.

"Break time it is then," Gyro nodded as they found a spot to sit down and took out some of the supplies they had with them.

"You ever wonder why there are so many Dark Towers in this area?" Morphomon mused as she took a bite of one of the sandwiches they carried along.

"Outside of some kind of flaunting on his part, I honestly can't see a tactical benefit of dropping this many Dark towers in a single area," Oren sighed.

"The numbers here ARE rather strange," Patamon frowned. Because of the large number it was why their group was here. The rest of their group was spread out in other areas, hunting down the Dark Towers that were much more sparse in those areas.

"Well, hey, in the end, at least we can work without Nero bothering us this time." Agumon said with a shrug.

"Small mercies and whatnot." Lopmon nodded in agreement.

"Still… you gotta wonder if he's actually planning something." Gabumon mused.

"I know what you mean." Pyrrha sighed "It's like he's just attacking randomly, mostly just to annoy us… there's no rhyme or reason to his actions so far."

Oren frowned at that "A good point… it's a mystery if he truly has any sort of objective."

"All we can do is stop him when he makes any moves like this," Gyro sighed. "Still, we'd better keep our guards up whenever he shows up. No telling what else he's got up his sleeve."

"No arguments here," Oren agreed. "I just hope that whatever happens, he won't make something so bad he can't control it."

"Damn…that IS a scary thought," Terriermon winced.

"An out of control creation of a mad man…yeah that's the last thing we need right now," Gabumon shuddered.

However, any further conversation was halted when a sudden earthquake happened. It didn't feel TOO strong, but it was enough that they felt the ground shake. "An earthquake?" Agumon said in surprise.

"Strange, those don't happen often," Lopmon frowned.

"Not to mention in the Digital World, it could be a normal quake…or something's happening," Gyro frowned.

"In that case we'd better check it out," Blake said.

With that said the group quickly armor evolved their partners, before heading off towards where they could feel the rumbling was strongest, Blake and Emerald flying up a bit higher with their partners to try and get a better view.

"Wait, those are Dark Towers!" Pegasmon gasped in shock, watching several Dark Towers sliding along the land up ahead, all heading in the direction of a mountain that had a few towers sticking out of it.

"An earthquake happens which is also moving Dark Towers near each other…yep, definitely Nero plotting something again," Gyro said dryly.

"So this is his latest evil plot of the week," Emerald said dryly.

"If he's bringing Towers together, then wonder what Digimon he's gonna sick on us THIS time," Pierismon snorted.

"Oh I think you'll enjoy my surprise this time quite a lot," came Nero's voice. The group immediately turned their heads up to see Nero, floating on a hoverboard over them as he looked down at them with a smirk.

"What is it this time? Going to try and steal 40 cakes?" Gyro asked him in deadpan.

Nero tilted his head, raising an eyebrow "I feel like that's a reference to something… if so, it sounds silly." he said, before he shrugged "Either way… no, I'm just preparing my greatest masterpiece. But before we step onto the stage…" he trailed off, raising his hand before snapping his fingers… right as his Digivice gave off a dark glow.

"Gazimon, Evolution!" Gazimon roared as he leaped out of the nearby trees while his body was shrouded in the same glow… and he grew SEVERAL sizes as the group had to scatter away slightly, while he landed on the ground in his new form hard enough to make everything shake "Deltamon!"

His new form was roughly as big as MetalGreymon, covered in blue scales with a white belly, his head definitely saurian in shape, though the snout did remind them somewhat of a shark. His right arm was cybernetic and ended in another head that had a much longer snout, while his left arm was skeletal, and ended in a third head, this one looking vaguely like a SkullGreymon's head, albeit with a shorter horn, two heavy tails slamming the ground behind him.

Digimon Analyzer: Deltamon

Deltamon. Virus Type. An Adult Level Composite Digimon. Rumors say this Digimon used to be three separate Digimon, but the three were permanently fused together into this form due to an electromagnetic storm, and a virus running rampant at the same time. Due to originally being three Digimon, it's capable of fighting three enemies at the same time due to having three minds to focus… or so the rumors go. Special attack is Triplex Force, combining energy from all three mouths into a single, powerful beam.

"The surprise is coming up, but until then, you all gotta play with me first!" Deltamon laughed before his three mouths opened, energy gathering in them. "Triplex Force!" he roared as he opened fire, forcing everyone to scatter.

"Don't know what this big surprise is you got, but we're not afraid!" KajiGreymon snarled before he ignited with flames. "Fire Missile!" he roared as he charged forward.

Deltamon smirked before meeting him head on, the impact pushing the evil Digimon back considerably, but he withstood the attack without too much damage, gradually slowing till he managed to stop the momentum, before grabbing a firm hold on KajiGreymon and throwing him aside.

"...okay, so you might be a bit tough," KajiGreymon groaned from where he landed.

"As if that's gonna stop us!" the two halves of Speedermon shouted as they were soon zipping around Deltamon. "Dual Barrage!" the both shouted as they opened fire on Deltamon. Deltamon raised his arms defensively as he tanked the shots.

As that was happening, the partners weren't idle either.

"I must say, dealing with you lot has always been the most challenging. Almost a shame its gonna end soon!" Nero laughed as he used the hover board to evade the shots fired at him.

"Oh it'll end alright! Right as soon as you hold still!" Emerald growled as by now she and the other chosen had separated from their partners, aiming to take Nero down while the Digimon were fighting each other.

"I think I quite enjoy moving around," Nero said with a taunting smirk as he evaded her shots, right before he had to pivot to avoid Oren's extended sword.

"You won't be moving once we capture you and make you pay for your crimes against the Digital World!" Oren shouted at him.

"That's only IF you can actually do that!" Nero laughed.

As the fighting on both sides was going on, nobody noticed the Dark Towers that were getting closer together, as Arukenimon and Mummymon were both busy planting hairs into them. "This would be faster if we could just shoot them all at the same time, but I know why we're doing it this way," Mummymon grumbled a bit as he tossed a few of Arukenimon's hairs, letting them fly into several Dark Towers.

"I'd prefer the faster method too, but that would defeat the whole point of this distraction tactic," Arukenimon said as she seeded several more of the towers.

Back with the fight, Deltamon had been pushed back a bit, but another Triplex Force forced his opponents to back off a little.

"You just don't know when to quit, do you?!" Deltamon growled.

"Funny, we could say the same about you!" Raimon growled as he fired a Lightning Lance, which Deltamon just BARELY managed to dodge.

Similarly, Nero was doing his own best to keep the Chosen busy, and so far both of them were doing a good job, right until the whole area was shaking. "Well now, looks like we bought enough time," Nero smirked.

Before the others could respond, Deltamon fired a quick burst at the ground, throwing up a smoke cloud, before they saw him glow and shrink through it, and a quick moment later of Gyro dispersing the smokescreen, they saw Gazimon standing with Nero on his hoverboard before the two flew off towards the gathering towers.

"After them!" Gyro shouted as the group soon gave chase, seeing the Towers floating in the air.

"Is he trying to drop an army of Digimon on us?!" Pyrrha gasped.

"No, the Towers…" Oren frowned before his eyes widened. "They're all converging into a single point…and these numbers…I think there's easily a hundred of them!"

"I'm not the only one who doesn't like the sound of that, right?" Pierismon said, sounding a bit nervous.

"No you're not," Blake said, and immediately pulled out her Scroll.

"Time to call for some reinforcements?" Pegasmon checked.

"Definitely," Blake nodded.

They could see the towers breaking apart, their data all flowing into a single point, slowly starting to take shape into SOMETHING, before they saw Nero overhead again, and he shot them an absolutely EVIL smirk as he held up a strange gun of some kind.

"The finishing touch." he said, before aiming at the mass and pulling the trigger, firing a large dart from the gun that they realized was filled with mutagen… and it struck the mass, emptying its contents into it

The moment Nero did that, Gyro made his decision. "This is getting dangerous! Everyone who can, go Ultimate! We're stopping this before it starts!"

Nobody argued, as with a few flashes of light, everyone devolved back to Child level, before switching to their strongest forms available. As such, it wasn't long before WarGreymon, MetalGarurumon, Seraphimon, Papillonmon, Rapidmon, and Antylamon were rushing forward.

"Hit it with everything before it even forms!" Pyrrha shouted, and nobody argued as everyone with ranged attacks opened fire. The attacks flew towards the mass of darkness, and the intensity was enough that Nero and Gazimon couldn't even try to stop it. However, right as it was getting close, the darkness seemed to start to form a silhouette, one that let out a roar, which sent forth a shockwave that canceled out the attacks, while knocking everyone back.

"Heh, looks like we hit the jackpot!" Gazimon laughed…even as he and Nero also had to struggle to NOT get blown away too.

The Chosen groaned from where they'd been blown back, with Gyro being the first to regain his bearings to see the mass of darkness, and the form it was starting to take. The silhouette was still a bit unstable, but the shape…it was one that made his eyes widened in horror. "No way…it can't be…!" he gasped.

The silhouette moved about a bit before it started to shrink, slowly compressing and solidifying. Before long the new Dark Tower Digimon took shape, standing atop the mountain that had once had so many Dark Towers.

The form was familiar… yet so different at the same time… but there was no mistaking the Digimon standing there.

"That's…!" Pyrrha gasped.

"Black… WarGreymon…" Gyro finished, looking up at the dark counterpart of his partner, who raised his head and roared to the heavens.

Nero, of course, laughed "BlackWarGreymon X! Yes! My finest warrior so far!"

Digimon Analyzer: BlackWarGreymon X

BlackWarGreymon X. Virus Type. An Ultimate Level Dragon Man Digimon. The Jet Black Dragon Warrior, modified with Mutagen to obtain even greater power, his dark powers considerably enhanced from the norm as his Brave Shield was fused to the Dramon Killers on his arms, a pair of vernier now acting as both weapons and jet propulsion for him. It boasts the ultimate offense and defense, and is capable of instantly reaching insane speeds thanks to the power of his vernier, letting him delete most opponents in a single attack. Special attacks are Hades Force, creating a great ball of fire fueled by negative energy and launching it at the opponent, and Dark Tornado, spinning his body so fast he turns into a huge black cyclone that sucks in everything nearby and destroys it.

A tense silence descended as BlackWarGreymon X looked down from where he stood, seemingly surveying…before his vernier suddenly activated, allowing him to surge forward and before anyone could react, he was suddenly in front of Seraphimon, who barely had any time to block as a Dramon Killer came up to strike. However, even as Seraphimon managed to block the attack, he gasped as the sheer force sent him flying back so fast he impacted a nearby hill with enough force to cause a small shockwave, the dust quickly settling to see Patamon fall to the ground.

"Patamon!" Blake gasped in alarm, before she glared at BlackWarGreymon and opened fire.

"Don't be reckless!" Antylamon shouted.

"We'll take this guy down together!" Papillonmon added as she and Rapidmon also joined in on the attack. Emerald quickly added her support, using her Semblance to make it seem like they'd suddenly multiplied, coming from various angles at BlackWarGreymon X. However, they couldn't so much as let off an attack, as BlackWarGreymon X simply lifted his Dramon Killers…and abruptly spun in a single powerful slash, sending shockwaves around, which hit all of them head on, sending everyone flying back. The end result was that of the Digimon remaining only WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon were left, while even Blake and Emerald had been knocked back hard enough to break their auras, effectively removing them from the fight.

"Ahh, and all is right with the world." Nero said with a sigh of contentment, while Arukenimon and Mummymon laughed behind him, waving a pair of fans each with Nero's face drawn on them.

Back with the fight, or curb stomp, things were definitely not looking good.

"If we don't do something fast, we're going to lose for sure," Oren frowned.

"Looks like we don't have a choice then," Gyro frowned.

"So we're going to go for it again?" Pyrrha checked, earning a nod.

"We're ready anytime you are," MetalGarurumon said, a sentiment WarGreymon echoed.

"Alright then, let's do this!" Gyro shouted as he and Pyrrha held up their D-Crests which glowed brightly as they triggered Jogress Evolution.

The bright light enveloped both WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon and when it subsided, Omegamon stood tall. The sight of the Royal Knight made even BlackWarGreymon X seem to pause, however, that didn't last long as he immediately brandished his Dramon Killers.

Likewise Omegamon unsheathed the Grey Sword and charged forward, the two Digimon meeting head on, before taking to the sky as they soon fought tooth and nail. Two streaks seemed to move through the air as the two Digimon fought, as the Dramon Killers impacted against the Grey Sword, sparks flying where the weapons made contact. BlackWarGreymon X tried to hold the Grey Sword in a blade lock with one of his Dramon Killers while raising the other one to strike, but Omegamon moved quickly and kicked him in the gut, breaking the lock while getting some range…and shifted to the Garuru Cannon as he opened fire on BlackWarGreymon X.

BlackWarGreymon X saw the attack coming, and moving quickly, gathered energy, creating a sphere of negative energy, before throwing it at the attack, having no time to fully form a Hades Force. Now normally one might assume a hastily formed attack would stand no chance against something like the Garuru Cannon. However, this was anything BUT normal, seeing as the two attacks made contact, and a massive explosion occurred as it managed to cancel out the blast that would have normally been able to destroy an Ultimate.

Omegamon actually paused briefly, before he twisted out of the way of a surprise attack from BlackWarGreymon X as he rushed out of the resulting smoke "You're quite the strong one, I'll give you that."

"You know… I thought that Omegamon would have handled him by now." Gyro admitted.

"I suppose the Mutagen made him even stronger than all the previous Digimon." Pyrrha said with a frown.

"Hopefully not too much stronger." Oren said, looking after the others.

"What are you?" Omegamon couldn't help but gasp, but he quickly focused again. There was no time to waste as he charged forward again, the two Digimon soon resuming their battle. However, the more they fought, Omegamon noticed something…very worrying.

Little by little it felt like BlackWarGreymon X was getting stronger, as the clashes were becoming harder and harder. With each strike Omegamon made, it seemed as if BlackWarGreymon X was moving faster each time, evading several strikes and easily blocking others. This became even more apparent when another slash of the Grey Sword was parried by both Dramon Killers, before BlackWarGreymon X managed to push back and break the lock, before kicking him away.

Omegamon growled as he readied the Garuru Cannon and charging up energy, fired a powerful shot. However, BlackWarGreymon X this time gathered energy and created a full powered Hades Force, which he hurled forward. The two attacks soon clashed, and after several moments of struggling…the Hades Force won out, breaking through the Garuru Cannon shot. Omegamon's eyes widened as he quickly unsheathed the Grey Sword again, and attempted to cue through the incoming attack. However, the Hades Force held against the Grey Sword, and worse, it was pushing him back…right towards where the others were.

Now very much alarmed, Omegamon doubled his efforts, especially when he felt his feet touch the ground. Bracing he tried to stop the attack, but right as he was starting to break through, the attack became unstable, and exploded, an explosion that blasted the area, as all Gyro, Pyrrha, and Oren could do was quickly shield the others as best as they could, the explosion sending everyone flying and when it was over, all of them were unconscious along with their partners, lying scattered on the ground, Omegamon having reverted to Koromon and Tsunomon as well, while BlackWarGreymon X hovered in the air not too far away, as if surveying the destruction he'd caused.

Nero laughed from where he'd been watching the fight "Amazing! Simply amazing! Truly you are one of my greatest creations yet BlackWarGreymon X!"

"I'll say." Gazimon smirked "He completely wrecked even their trump card! We've finally won!"

"It took a lot of work to get this far." Mummymon said with a smile as he breathed in the air "I love the smell of victory."

"It took entirely too many hairs though." Arukenimon said "Well, at least now we can get rid of them."

"Indeed." Nero grinned "BlackWarGreymon X! Kill them! But leave my brother to me."

Nero waited a moment… only for BlackWarGreymon X to just remain there as he slowly touched down on the ground, right in front of Koromon and Tsunomon, looking down at them.

"Hey! Didn't you hear your new boss?! Are you deaf or something?!" Gazimon shouted at the artificial Digimon.

Slowly, BlackWarGreymon X turned his head, looking at them over his shoulder… before he did something none of them expected.

"Silence."

The four of them were stunned at that, staring at him in shock, at the fact that he had just SPOKEN.

"You are no Master of mine." BlackWarGreymon X added, before he turned back to the two unconscious Digimon "You were powerful… I thought I would have no challenge… but you pushed me to my limits and beyond. But I need more. A better, stronger challenge." he spoke, almost sounding… lost "It's the only way to prove my existence. So grow stronger, and stronger, and keep fighting me… I'll look forward to our next battle." he said, before floating back up in the air, and flying away quickly moments later.

Nero and his group were left staring at where BlackWarGreymon X had flew off, their minds trying to process what they'd just seen. Dark Tower Digimon were designed to be mindless servants to do their bidding…yet somehow, some way, this one gained not just a mind, but full on sentience to the point of defying them. It…it shouldn't have been possible.

So stunned were they that by the time they shook it off, Arukenimon saw several figures approaching, no doubt the other Chosen Children.

"Dammit, we'll fall back for now!" Nero growled as the group quickly made their escape. Without BlackWarGreymon X, there was no way they'd stand a chance against the rest of the team, and their stunned moment meant they didn't capitalize on the opportunity BlackWarGreymon X had left them.

Once they left, Emerald slowly lifted her head, opening one eye.

"Hurts like a bitch… but the others need to hear this." she muttered, having managed to regain consciousness long enough to realize that there was now a rogue element flying around the Digital World, before she fell into blissful unconsciousness once more.

And boom.

BlackWarGreymon X

Yes, he's MASSIVELY powerful, but he's also just as much of a rogue elements as he was in canon, playing for his own side rather than that of his creators.

We have a lot of things planned in regards to him, and I hope you look forward to it.

For now...

The Adventure Evolves.
