Chapter 15: The Day the Music Didn't Cry

Danny and his friends were studying together (no videogames involved, for once) when his cell phone rang. "Natasha?"

"Danny, my Dad's bought two tickets to DJ Rickski's concert in Zoravia, Illinois this Saturday night." Natasha said. "Do you wanna come?"

"DJ who?" Danny asked.

"He's a hit among Zoravians of my parents' generation but currently his songs are mostly played at elevators and dentists' offices, Danny." Natasha explained. "He's doing this charity show to elevate himself back to top."

"It's a date, Natasha." Danny replied. After the call ended, he talked to his friends. "Guys, have you heard of a DJ Rickski?" He asked Sam and Tucker.

While Tucker was checking his PDA, Sam was able to give Danny a more immediate answer as she made a point to know all things non-mainstream. "He's a formerly famous foreign DJ who made the news last year for having been abducted by a loony fan, Danny."

"Yeah, I'm reading it here!" Tucker added as he proudly showed his PDA. "Some people rumored it to be some sort of publicity stunt."

"Really?" Danny asked.

"If you think that rumor is ridiculous, wait until you her about how it's said Zoravians refused to use elevators or go to dentists during that time because his songs wouldn't be played there until he was rescued." Tucker commented.

"Okay, even I find that hard to believe and I know ghosts exist." Danny commented back.

Jack then rushed into Danny's room. "Did anybody say 'ghost'?" He asked.

"Dad, I was just commenting on how some rumors about DJ Rickski are hard to believe even to someone who knows ghosts exist." Danny explained. "Speaking of that, Natasha invited me a concert of his this Saturday night. May I go?"

"Keep up with your grades and/or your ghost hunting and we'll talk." Jack replied. "Honestly, I don't even know why your mother and I allow your friends to go with you. It'd give their parents grounds to sue us."

"Our lips are sealed, Mr. Fenton." Sam reassured Jack.

"Are you sure?" Jack asked while glancing at Tucker.

"Does everyone think I'm a blabbermouth or something like that?" Tucker asked in outrage.

"Yes!" The three characters with him answered and Jack added. "I'm surprised Danny managed to keep a secret for a whole week after you being in it."

Meanwhile, at his office, Vlad Masters was wondering how he could ruin things for Danny. "Any ideas, Maddie?" The fruitloop asked his (sister's) cat.

"Meow." Maddie replied while pointing at a file labeled "Masters' Blasters".

"No, Maddie, I don't hate Daniel to this point." Vlad stated and then mumbled "Yet."

Skulker then showed up. "Sir, I need a better plasma cannon." The hunter said.

Seeing Skulker there gave Plasmius an idea. "Skulker, would your girlfriend already have a scheduled gig for this Saturday night?" He asked.

At the day of the show, Danny and Natasha were enjoying it. Not as much as they were enjoying the snacks but the show still was good. Danny then noticed another familiar face. "Is that Oleg?" He asked his girlfriend.

"Yeah, Oleg is DJ Rickski's number 2 biggest fan." Natasha explained, confusing Danny.

"Number 2?" Danny asked.

"Inside joke, Danny." Natasha replied and Danny decided not to pursue it further out of a belief Natasha meant 'spy joke'. For all he knew, Natasha and Oleg were the ones who rescued DJ Rickski from the loony fan. At that moment, his ghost sense activated, making him forget the number 2 issue.

Ember then revealed herself before Danny had a chance to go to a hiding spot. "Hello, Zoravia, Illinois." Ember said. "Are you ready to remember?"

"No!" Oleg shouted. "We want DJ Rickski! We want DJ Rickski!"

"Shut up, Oleg." Greg O'Brien demanded. "She's better-looking than that Rickski guy.

While Ember readied herself, Danny and Natasha snuck out and went to a secluded corner. "I'm going ghost." He said as he turned himself into Danny Phantom.

"You're going bathroom decoration, whelp." Skulker said as he revealed himself.

"Now it's not the time, Skulker." Danny said with a frown.

"Correction, whelp." Skulker replied. "Now it's the perfect time since I cannot let you interfere with my girlfriend's plans."

"Your…" Danny started to ask as he realized what Skulker meant. "Is Ember your girlfriend? Really?"

"Do you think she's too good for me?" Skulker asked in mild anger.

"Even Paulina is too good for you." Danny replied.

"Danny, you distract him while I rescue the others." Natasha whispered and ran away.

"Ha." Skulker laughed. "Who cannot hold onto a girlfriend?"

"Plasmius but that's not the point." Danny answered. "I must help them."

"You'll have to go through me first, whelp." Skulker replied as he shot a mini-device that shocked Danny. "Do you like Plasmius' new toy?"

Instead of speaking, Danny used his ice breath to freeze Skulker's armor but the armor simply heated up and the ice melted. "Another one of Plasmius' improvements." Skulker bragged. Any last words, whelp?"

Danny wailed. As in used his ghostly wail to defeat Skulker. It forced back into his human form as Danny Fenton but it was worth it as Skulker's armor fell apart and Danny managed to suck Skulker's true self (a tiny blob) into a Fenton Thermos. After feeling better, he went ghost again and flew towards the concert area to help his girlfriend only to realize she no longer needed help. "What happened?" He asked.

"Everyone seemed to be under some sort of trance until a scream broke it." Natasha (as the Black Huntress) explained. "I tried to capture Ember but she escaped."

"Is everyone okay?" Danny asked.

"I don't see Fenton or Natasha anywhere, Phantom." Greg answered.

"I'll be looking for them, citizen." Danny said and flew away. Oleg then approached DJ Rickski with one of the latter's album. "Would you please autograph this cover, Mr. Rickski?" He eagerly asked.

The next day, Danny was telling the rest of Team Phantom about the incident. "No way." Tucker said. "Are you saying Skulker really has a girlfriend?"

"Yeah, I was just as surprised as you, Tucker." Danny replied.

"Honestly, I'm more concerned that ghosts seem to be following Danny." Sam commented. "Tucker and I should go with you for your next date."

"With her ass-kicking Princess girlfriend?" Tucker asked. "He doesn't need us and Natasha might think you're trying to ruin their dates."

"Why would she think that, Tucker?" Danny asked.

"No reason." Sam quickly answered. "Tucker never knows when to keep his mouth shut."

"True." Danny commented.

"Danny!" Jack happily called his son. "Would you like to see the new weapon your Mom and I developed for you?"

End chapter.
