Chapter 16
***The Next Day***
(Sam was on the pier thinking about the last conversation she and Franco had. She had so much going on in her life, that she almost forgot about her mission. As much as she wanted to forget her past with Franco, cheating on Jason with Franco, even though it was hate sex. She knew that there was a possibility that Danny was Franco's biological child. A part of her didn't want to know. She knew that she needed to know, though. Would she tell Jason if it was revealed that Franco was the father? Hell, no! Jason would never find out. Sam wasn't even sure she would tell Franco until she learned the truth. She would assume until the truth came out, Danny was Jason's son)
***That Night***
(Elizabeth is getting ready to work her overnight shift at GH. She wasn't crazy about them. Every now and then, they had to be done. She was glad it was only once a month. Just as she's finishing getting her snacks ready for her breaks, she sees Cameron coming into the kitchen)
Liz: "Hi, sweetie. I'm surprised to see you're still up. Is everything okay?"
(Cameron thinks back to his earlier conversation with Jason. Jason encouraged Cameron to be honest with his mother. Cameron sighs as he spoke)
Cameron: "Can you and I talk before you go to work?"
Liz: (smiles) "We sure can. I have an hour before my shift starts. Let's go sit on the couch."
(The mother and son go sit on the couch before they start their chat)
Liz: "You look like something is on your mind."
Cameron: (nods) "It has to do with our talk the other night, among other things."
Liz: "We'll talk about each thing, one at a time."
Cameron: "First off…" (sighs deeply) "…I lied to you."
Liz: (nods) "Okay. About what?"
Cameron: "You asked me if I needed money for homecoming. I said no, but I did need some because I was broke. So, after you and I talked, I went to Jason."
Liz: (puzzled) "Why Jason?"
Cameron: "Jason has always told me if I need anything, he's there for me." (sighs sadly) "Mom, I didn't want to ask you for money when I know that you and Franco are hurting for money. So, yes, I went to Jason. I felt guilty about it, though. I wasn't going to tell you about it, as I didn't want to disappoint you. Jason gave me money and encouraged me to be honest with you. He says there shouldn't be any secrets between you and I."
Liz: (nods) "I agree with Jason. Cameron, I want you to know something. No matter what you do in life, I will never hate you. I may be disappointed in you for a bit. I may be mad at you, but I will NEVER hate you. Do I wish that you were upfront with me from the beginning?" (nods) "Yes. But, I understand why. I'm glad that you went to Jason as, like you said, he's always there for you. So is Franco. You have three people who love you like crazy."
Cameron: (sighs softly) "I'm sorry, mom."
Liz: (smiles) "I accept your apology."
(She leans forward and kisses his cheek, telling her first born that she loves him. He goes back to bed and she finishes getting ready)
***The Next Day***
(Monica, who is at work at GH, is in her office. She uses her office phone to call Jason, who picks up on the third ring)
Jason: "Hi, Monica. What can I do for you?"
Monica: "Hi, sweetie. I would like to schedule another playdate with my grandkids this weekend at the house."
Jason: (nods) "I'll work out the details with Sam and Elizabeth."
Monica: "I've been meaning to ask you. How are you and Sam doing?"
Jason: (sighs) "Things didn't work out between Sam and I. We're over."
Monica: "While I'm sorry to hear that, I'll admit, I'm not surprised."
Jason: "I'll tell you more about it later. I better go."
Monica: "No problem. We'll talk later."
(The call ends)
(Monica sighs deeply and a small smile creeps up on her face as she makes a mental note to talk to Elizabeth later)
