Chapter 8

***A Few Daya Later***

(Lulu is at her old apartment that she shared with Dante. She is packing her stuff. Since her conversation with her mom, she spent a lot of time thinking about Dante and Dillon. She HATED that Dante cheated on her. She HATED that Dillon lied to her the way he did. She knew that Dante loved her and him sleeping with Valerie was a mistake. She had made some bad choices, as well, and so did Dante)

(In her heart, she did answer her mom's question if she still loved Dante. Now, she needed to be honest with him. Her thoughts are dashed when the front door unlocks and someone comes in and shuts the door behind them. She saw it was Dante as he came into the bedroom)

Dante: "H-Hey."

Lulu: "Hi."

Dante: "You were so quiet that I didn't hear anyone when I came in."

Lulu: "Yeah, just doing some more packing. Almost done. Have you found a new place, out of curiosity?"

Dante: "There were a few choices, but nothing definite yet."

(Lulu stops what she's doing and leads Dante to the couch, where they both sit)

Dante: (concerned) "What's wrong?"

Lulu: "I've been doing some thinking when it comes to you…and Dillon."

Dante: (sighs) "Oh, boy."

Lulu: "To be honest, my mother is the one who encouraged me to do some soul-searching. I finally came to a decision."

Dante: "Okay? And?"

Lulu: "Do you know who is responsible for outing your one-night stand on the Haunted Star?"

Dante: (shrugs) "I'm not sure, but I figured it was Dillon."

Lulu: (nods) "You are right. Dillon and Valerie talked about it and it was recorded for everyone to see."

Dante: (scoffs) "That son of a bitch."

Lulu: "While it wasn't right for Dillon to play it for everyone to see, it's over and done with because at least I know the truth."

Dante: "It sounds like you've forgiven him."

(Lulu shrugs her shoulders in response before speaking)

Lulu: "I'm not sure. But, I'll admit it's hard to swallow getting cheated on."

(Dante briefly lowers his head before attempting to apologize. Lulu shakes her head in an attempt to stop him)

Lulu: "It's just something I have to learn to deal with."

Dante: "I want no secrets between us anymore. So, I'll admit Valerie thought she was pregnant as she's late. The test came back negative when Dr. Westbourne ran it."

(Lulu sighs deeply as she thought to herself)

Lulu: "Will that nightmare ever be over?"

(Dante smiles a bit as he spoke a bit passionately)

Dante: "Thank you for giving us another chance. You won't regret it."

(Lulu gets up from the couch with tears flooding her eyes. Dante can't help but grow concerned)

Dante: "Lulu, what's wrong?"

Lulu: "After everything that's happened, I'm not sure that I'm IN LOVE with you anymore. I'll always care about you. But I don't love you."

(Dante shakes his head in response and scoffs)

Dante: "Yeah, but let me guess. You're in love with Dillon. Lulu, he betrayed you in front of the damn town!" (waves his hands)

(Lulu gave Dante a disgusted look before speaking)

Lulu: "You betrayed our marriage vows and almost got Valerie pregnant! Yeah, I'm not happy with Dillon, but at least he would never cheat on me when the going gets tough! Yes, I should have told you what my family was up to! But you could have also asked me too, instead of climbing in bed with her, in our bed!"

(Dante gets off the couch and briefly points at himself, raises his voice)

Dante: "How many damn times do I have to say I'm sorry?! I feel horrible!"

(Lulu gets off the couch and starts shouting)

Lulu: "You don't have to apologize anymore! We're done! For good! You can keep the apartment because I won't be living anywhere with you!"

(Lulu leaves her stuff and walks out, slamming the door behind her. Dante throws something hard against the door, causing it to break in pieces)

Dante: (nods) "It's time you and I had a little chat, Dillon. I'm not giving up Lulu without a fight."
